Horrific experience with Ramos towing and they were no help after I had a claim with them. Long story short my car rolled off the flatbed which was 4 ft. in the air and made considerable damage to my classic. Tow driver didn't wench the car with chains and only strapped which is a complete no no. I explain everything with pictures and advise both parties because AAA sent them out for the tow. They were ducking my calls and didn't want to be responsible for the damages. Caution; If this tow company damages your car or property durning a tow, they will not take responsibility and pay for the damages their employee caused. Tow driver broke my ignition key. I informed the office that their driver accidently broke my key and I wanted to be compensated for the key that their employee had broken. I got nothing but the run around, for weeks, constantly told that the check was in the mail. Still have not received payment for the damage. They towed my car in the Starbucks parking lot while I was in Starbucks! They said my car was parked there For too long. I parked at 6:20 and noticed my car was gone at 7:15 when I went to leave. LESS THAN AN HOUR! It is totally reasonable to be in Starbucks for an hour they literally have chairs and free wifi so we can sit there. I'm a college student and was utilizing the amenities that Starbucks provides. Said they would call the Starbucks owner and then said the Starbucks owner said we were harassing him which the Starbucks owner said he never said. So not only are they crooks, they're liars to. The owner of the towing company was completely rude. He lied and said he wasnt the owner and then said his name was Jose Ramos and the company is Ramos towing so??He took my car for no reason and claimed that they verified with Starbucks when the manager said he never did and they're supposed the get a signature when they tow the car. They just want to take peoples money. I showed the receipts from Starbucks and when I parked my car and they still wouldn't give me my car back. The owner of the towing company was a complete jerk and when I said I have no money told me to find someone who will give it to me. When I finally gave up because o needed my car back I got help from a family member to pay and then he wouldn't take the payment because it wasn't my card. How is he going to tell me to find someone to give me the money and then not take it when I do. AAA dispatched Ramos towing today to have one of my vehicles towed to get serviced! When the driver arrived he refused to take my vehicle because the tags were expired. I tried to show him the paperwork that showed the registration had already been paid for and I was having the car towed to a BMW technician for repairs so that I can have a smog done. He told me that it didn't matter and he cannot tow the vehicle because it didn't have the tags on it! I was then told that "Customers have it misconstrued and AAA is not for personal use and only for roadside assistance." I explained to him that I pay for AAA plus that allows for me to receive up to 200 miles of towing and this is a roadside assistance matter! My vehicle broke down 2 blocks from my home and I was able to drive it 10 mph home and I was having it towed to a technician to have the necessary work done on it! I called AAA and was told that was not their policy and was dispatched another tow company! When I called back to Ramos towing and explained to the manager that AAA told me it was not their policy he laughed at me! I would like to add that during the conversation with the driver I asked him so technically what your telling me is if I were to break down on the side of the road and called AAA for roadside assistance and my tags are expired you couldn't tow my vehicle? Asked for a quote and the lady that picked up couldn't understand (poor reception) so she transferred me to a man. When I asked for a tow that was just outside of Salinas, I could hear the original lady in the background yell "hang up on him, hang up on him! hang up on him!! He's a waste of time!". They denied a quote and said "go someplace else". Customers don't call just to have fun chatting with local tow companies - they NEED a service and are willing to PAY for those services. My kids were in an accident in downtown riverside. We called AAA to get a tow and our estimated time was 45minutes. 45 minutes went by and I called AAA to see what was going on. Now our estimated time was another hour. No courtesy call from Ramos Towing and when I called them, the person who answered said we going in the order of jobs. Did not offer any apologies for the delay, did not give an explanation as to what the delay was(AAA said it was a safety call) and that was it. Another hour goes by and still no tow and no courtesy call from Ramos Towing. When I tried to call them , my calls got declined and sent to a voicemail that is not set up. Called from a different phone and calls went thru but still not answered. We are in downtown riverside, not a great area at all and are still sitting here at 10:30 at night waiting on Ramos Towing. AAA has let us know it will be another 60 minutes.. What kind of service is that when you keep getting pushed back for hours and getting your calls declined with no courtesy calls whatsoever?
