He didn't rush at all -- he patiently waited while I drove the car around and tested starting it multiple times to make sure everything was okay. He only left once I was completely satisfied and confident the issue was resolved. What really stood out was his patience, professionalism, and positive attitude. First time I reviewed a tow truck service. I guess there really is a 1st time for everything. Needed a tow. What can I say? I have roadside assistance with my car insurance (Geico) and they arranged the tow truck for me. Turns out the tow trucking business is busy. It took them an hour but that was their prediction. Having little choice in the matter I accepted as I had a cracked windshield. Atmosphere: 5 stars. Tow truck was clean. He had a phone recharger and let me charge my phone. Service: 5 stars. West towing arrived within their predicted scheduled pick up time. My service technician was a man named James. I enjoyed his company on the ride home. I consider the service fast, friendly and reliable. Quality: 5 stars. Got my car back home without incident. Value: 5 stars. Paid by credit card. Charge was about $10 a mile, once I'd gone over my free mile limit. Thing is when you really need a tow truck you are already in a jam. Unless you have a friend with one you have to take what you can get or the state will tow it and charge you for it. I have heard of cheaper outside of California but given the circumstances I am grateful I was able to get a tow truck within an hour. Some context: The national cost of a tow averages around $109. Exact rates will vary with miles towed and difficulty of the vehicle (weight, size, make & model, and condition). I believe they have a minimum charge regardless to ensure their costs and profit margin are covered. Driver shared with me a word of warning about scam towing services who pull up, hook up, take you to the nearest exit and dump you for $300. read more

I'm 9 months pregnant a and had an accident and was told originally by this company a 30 minute eta for the driver to arrive only to be called 30 minutes after that they have to send someone else cause they sent the first driver somewhere else. I asked her why they couldn't assign someone else if this driver was already headed to me and was told by the lady on the phone "well, if you were in an accident wouldn't you want you want the nearest tow truck to go to you?" Like duh! I was in an accident and wanted the nearest tow truck to go to me. Was given another 30 minute eta only for the driver to never arrive. I waited more than an hour and ended up being helped by strangers in the area and was able to go home. I would have been there all day thanks to this horrible service. Was involved in a motorcycle accident and first spoke to a lady who was very kind and said she would give me a call once the tow yard actually received the vehicle. But, we never got notified until over a week of it being there. Then when we went to pick up the bike we were told, good luck getting it on the truck and couldn't even get any help. I had a dentist appointment on Wednesday. It was the hottest day we've had for awhile. It was a standard visit and when I got in my usually very reliable Acura TL it wouldn't start. Seriously?! My driver side window wouldn't go down and the car sounded like it wasn't clicking over. Everything else seemed to work just fine. I called my husband and he suggested calling AAA. We've been members for just over 13 years. After talking with the rep she let me know someone would be there within 20 minutes. I was in a safe location and got out and waited in the shade. Called Geico's Emergency Road Side Service after having a tire sidewall blowout on the I-15 near Lake Elsinore on 11-22-23 (day before Thanksgiving). West Tow's dispatcher promptly called and called again to notify me when the driver would arrive. Daniel (tow truck driver) arrived within minutes of the dispatcher's 2nd call. He removed the bad tire, examined, tested the spare in the truck before putting it on and within minutes I was back on the road.
