What an absolute nightmare!!!! Almost impressive. Worst business ever. Geico, (who assured pick up within one hour..) put out tow request for us (also reviewing Geico who were ridiculously bad)...and Liberty promptly verified they'd pick up car. This was important as we are in rental in Lake Arrowhead and reservation was through today. Owner wonderful and extended stay, but was critical car get to mechanics by noon so they had afternoon to diagnose. Called at 10 a.m. assuming car would be dropped off before noon as Geico assured. Time for pick up was rapidly approaching when got call from Liberty saying it would be another 45 minutes. Grimacing, called mechanics who said they'd wait. That time came and went (now nearly two hours) when Liberty called again. Informed us we'd owe an additional $50 for 5 extra miles (Geico limits you to 15 miles.. doesn't matter if you're stuck on a mountain and the closest place is 20 miles ...) as Geico said we weren't in accident. He then said they wouldn't arrive in additional 45 minutes...how about 1:30?!?!?!?!? Shocked I was adamant that wouldn't work and meant we lost our slot at auto shop. He hung up. About another hour passed and I called Geico, dragging through their awful AI program trying to get human. Finally did. SHE SAID...Oh they dropped the pick up!!!! No call, no text NOTHING FROM LIBERTY OR GEICO!!! Day lost. Now having to spend tomorrow night and maybe another in hotel.....While booked at rental in Dana Point starting tonight. INSANE. A new order placed for tow. This guy was great! Also shared how everyone KNOWS how bad Liberty is run. Grab jobs, can't meet timelines and drop customers with no contact. Also found out they're currently being sued. THE WORST. AVOID LIKE PLAGUE!!!!! Just AWFUL customer service! Anyone who's dealt with AAA or towing knows how painful it can be -- long waits, inconsistent service, and just overall stress. I almost never write reviews, but this deserves one. My Lexus wouldn't start and needed a flatbed because of a low lip kit. I lucked out getting Liberty Towing and Francisco. He called ahead, asked the right questions about clearance, and showed up clearly knowing his stuff and with the appropriate equipment. He got the car up safely and quickly -- no drama, no damage. It was efficient because he was experienced and knowledgeable (unfortunately rare and not always the case). Then I needed a second tow to a different mechanic. I reached out to Francisco directly, and he/ his company coordinated everything through AAA so that it was covered without the hassle of reimbursement, kept me updated the entire time, and even sent photos when the car was picked up and dropped off. I didn't have to wait around or deal with any hassle. He was professional, kind, and never once hinted at expecting a tip. Just solid, honest work. The dispatcher here was unethical. First gave me a price then changed their mind and made the price higher. Once my vehicle was on the flatbed they then disclosed their payment policy Saying that my wife with the same last name and household could not pay for me using her credit card. And said if I don't pay the vehicle would be impounded. The dispatcher then kept pushing more to have cash to pay .Company was very unprofessional. It's a shame that triple A uses them. read more

Stay away from Liberty Towing! The absolutely worst experience I have ever had for roadside assitance. If you get directed to use Liberty Towing, hang up and get another tow company. My motorcycle went down Monday March 23, 2026, on a hot day, about 90 degrees in Southern California on the 91 freeway. I submitted my request to my insurance company at 3:56pm. It was assigned to Liberty Towing. The first ETA was 5:20PM, then changed to 5:59PM. I had received a call from Liberty Towing at 4:24PM and I called them at 6PM and spoke to the manager, Joshua explaining that I needed to be picked up and he said he was doing everything he could and apologized. I then got another update that the ETA had moved to 6:49PM so I called Liberty Towing and got Joshua again, the manager on the phone. I told him that I was running out of battery on my phone, that luckily I was near a Jack in the Box because had I been on the side of the road in 90 degree weather it would have been really bad. As I was talking to him I received another text update that the new ETA was going to be 7:21 PM and then another text from Geico Dispatch that the revised ETA was 7:47pm. Understandably I was really upset and told Joshua that this was completely unacceptable and that I should have just paid out of pocket for AAA to move my bike and that it was hot, I was missing my daughter's birthday dinner and that I was running out of battery on my phone and that if it dies I would need to go and buy a burner or find someplace to charge my phone so I could contact my family. I told him if I had been stuck on the side of the road without someplace with air conditioning that it would have been really bad and dangerous. I told him that he needed to rearrange his drivers and get someone out to me ASAP and that 7:57PM was four hours since I contacted Geico and that 7:57PM was not acceptable. He apologized and said that there was nothing he could do because they were busy and that he was trying to get a driver out to me. He knew I was upset and actually said to me that he wanted to cancel the tow and have me contact Geico to get a different tow company to come out to get me because he was concerned that I would leave him a bad review and that his reviews were very important to him and his company. I told him that this was unbelievable, that you are more concerned about your customer survey scores than leaving someone waiting for a tow for 4 hours. I told him that he was not to cancel the request under any circumstance, and that he needed to get some out ASAP. He told me that he would pay $40 out of his own pocket (which I don't believe) against the $144 extra mileage charge that I had to pay and I agreed. As we were talking, he told me that he could get someone out to me by 7PM and that it was one of his best drivers and I said ok. His driver Joe showed up at 7:05 and towed me to the dealership and I paid $104 on a credit card. Again, Liberty Towing's manager actually recommended that he cancel the tow over 2 hours in waiting for it because he was concerned about his survey score. I worked for a large Automotive OEM and our reps and I never would have told a client this let alone offer it up as a suggestion because I was afraid I would get a bad survey. Stay Away! read more

I requested a towing service at 4:30 PM, and they didn't arrive until 9:00 PM -- their only explanation was "traffic." Instead of apologizing, they expected me to just understand and keep waiting. I reached out to the number provided and had the pleasure of working with Omar. He was so friendly and helpful when I called him and I called him twice. I did not want to be the annoying customer calling because I know they are busy but Omar didn't make me feel that way. He provided me with updates and was very accommodating. When CJ came, he was so kind and helpful. He tried jumping my car when we got to my house for drop off and even though it was not successful, I appreciated the help even at home. On September 28 I had my car towed from Fontana,ca to Pasadena, CA do.toma accident. During the tow my car was damaged. When the guy put my car up on the bed I asked are you familiar with this model he said yes.... WHEN my car arrived to PASADENA MY oil Pan had been damaged. I spoke with attendant and he said they would take car of it... Call claim in the morning... claims said we will call you back with in 24hrs no response. I gave them 72 hrs before calling... got the run around... Then I was told they wouldn't deal with me... only for them to call me today... I missed the call... called them back they tell me we accept no responsibility for our actions. So not only are they careless with your property they also dont take responsibility when they damage it. I would definitely RECOMMEND THAT YOU DONT USE THIS COMPANY... THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR PROPERTY THEN TELL YOU TOUGH TITTY... OH WELL... THE amount of time to sue these people will be worth it for me as I have a few months off from worc in a couple weeks and will look into my avenues of trying to get them to just say hey we fucced up. My insurance fixed the pan.. how is that fair to my insurance or me... and its claims like this that make California insurance rates go up... they not helping you, if they hurting you by costing you money... They said i would get a call that day. They didn't reach out so i called the next day and they said i would get a call that day. Still didn't call back so I called the next day. I sold my car through the website Peddle and Peddle contracted Liberty towing to come tow my car from my house. Had an appointment for a five hour pickup window last Friday. After 4.5 hours, they call and ask when they can come pick up my vehicle and I advised I had a scheduled time window and no one had showed up. Then they said the tow truck driver got a flat and couldn't come so it was rescheduled for the following day Saturday for another 5 hour window. They did not show up and did not call. Monday morning, they sent me an automated text message rescheduling the tow for another 4 hour window for that same day without consulting me. I called Peddle, explained what happened and requested a new towing company. Scheduled with the new tow company. Literally 30 minutes later Liberty called to confirm the tow time for that day. I advised the tow was cancelled and what happened. The person said that wasn't how they like to do business but unfortunately that is how they did business with me. read more

JIM the manager has a serious attitude problem, when i asked why i haven't gotten an update in over an HOUR waiting had a horrible attitude telling me to wait for however longer. HORRIBLE service gave me 2 hour PLUS wait time. so much for "emergency" roadside service. negative stars if it was possible. kept me waiting on the side of the road for over an hour til he finally got a dispatch out who was also another hour away. ridiculous communication and HORRIBLE customer service. Total ripoff, the tow truck driver said they would be at an autozone on time at 07:37 pm but never showed and I had to call! They also left a voicemail but I figured when we were at the impound lot that my friend and Is word would have been good enough to finalize the order to have our vehicle brought to us. Shout out to truck #77 who came to change my flat tire today...but was "sent on a truck with no tools". Couldn't figure out how to remove the lug nut cover on my VW. I have no clue about how to change a tire, that's why I pay for roadside assistance. It took me 3 minutes and a YouTube video to figure out that those are not wheel locks but lug nut covers and the required tool was indeed in my vehicle. He didn't know what he was looking for so here I sit with my flat tire. At least I know now...I will call for service again but request a different provider. Rude operator and gave out false promises. I needed a tow for my car. My insurance assigned me to Liberty Towing. Their initial ETA was 60 min. After an hour, not seeing the tow truck, I called them and found out no driver was even assigned and need another 90 min. I waited 90 min and still no tow truck showed up. I asked my insurance company to find me another company. WOW after my car has been towed to destination by another company. I recently had a very frustrating experience with Liberty Towing. My car battery died, and I have roadside assistance through Good Sam. I explained that I needed a flatbed tow due to the type of vehicle I own. Good Sam dispatched Liberty Towing at 1:36 PM, with an estimated wait time of 60-90 minutes. Within 30 minutes, I was told the driver had arrived but couldn't find my vehicle. I immediately called and spoke with a kind man who explained that the driver didn't see my car. I confirmed the address I was at, but he said it was incorrect. After I gave him the correct address, he told me I needed to call Good Sam again to request a new service because they had been given the wrong location. I called Good Sam, and they informed me that Liberty was supposed to contact them directly, not me, to correct the address. Once the address was confirmed, Good Sam sent a new request to Liberty. However, after 45 minutes, I was still waiting, even though the driver was allegedly just around the corner from the original address. I called back and was met with a rude woman who asked for my vehicle details. She then told me the tow had been canceled. I explained that I hadn't been informed and had been waiting for a long time. She said they canceled the tow because they couldn't tow my type of car. When I asked her what kind of car she was referring to, she told me to call Good Sam and abruptly hung up. If Liberty knew they were unable to tow a Bentley, they shouldn't have accepted the service request, especially since this information was provided upfront. It is highly unprofessional to take a request, fail to show up, and offer no communication. A simple apology and explanation would have gone a long way. To make matters worse, I had to wait another 90 minutes for a new tow, which meant I had been waiting for service for more then 3 hours. This delay could have been avoided if Liberty had been upfront about their inability to handle my vehicle type. The new towing company, on the other hand, was very professional--they called me twice to update me on their arrival and provided an estimated time. Based on how I was treated by the female worker and the lack of communication from Liberty, I would not recommend this company. The experience with Liberty Towing was extremely unprofessional compared to the service I received from the new towing company. read more

I had an accident in my Subaru that caused so much damage it had to be towed to a repair facility. My insurance company, Mercury Insurance, was quick to respond with a towing service, Liberty Towing and recommendations on a repair facility, M & L Collision in Norco. The tow truck driver who was very nice said, on 4/8 M & L was closed. He said the Subaru would be housed overnight at their facility to be taken in on 4/9. It made perfect sense to me. I should have done my due diligence and called on 4/9 to check on the status of my vehicle, but I didn't. Fast forward to 4/10 when I called M & L and talked to Elizabeth their receptionist. She notified me that the Subaru never arrived! I quickly called Mercury's Team Everest who was handling my claim to voice my concern. I let a female team member know that I was from Northern California and my accident happened in Southern California. I also let her know this repair was time sensitive and it was unacceptable for the towing company, 'NOT' to have delivered my vehicle on 4/9 to M & L! She basically said she had no control over the situation. She couldn't do anything about Liberty Towing's practices. I said they did have control of who they contracted to do their business. I insisted on speaking to a supervisor and she said she would have one call me. Elizabeth at M &L called at 9:30 after my call to her in the morning and said she contacted the towing company, and was I available to come in to sign the papers to start the repair! Wow my Subaru was there! Elizabeth a big thank you.!Mercury Insurance's team Everest who are handling my case, well. your customer service representative is no one I would ever want to deal with ever again!!! As of today 4/12 , I haven't been contacted by a supervisor at Mercury Insurance regarding the fact that their choice in Towing Companies leaves this customer questioning their practices of their timeliness.
