Nothing but love for this towing company! I know tow guys and gals sometimes get a bad rap. I know of this company dealing with them at night through my work. I know they're professional and courteous when talking with them while I'm in work mode, but as a customer this was my first time. Let's start my story off by letting you the reader know that I had this very impressive tire blow out right before the Tyler exit (91 FWY west). First instinct was to pull over and the car finally just DIED in the driveway between Shoe City and P.F. Chang's. I've never seen an SUV's tire shred like that before, just saying. Now, after all that brou-haha the car wouldn't start. Had to have my daughter's bf, my other daughter, and one of the Galleria at Tyler Mall security guys push the dang SUV into the parking lot of P.F. Chang's just to get a jump. Be patient please, I'm getting to the actual review. Just trying to set the stage so you can see where my mind was at... Air pump at closest gas station was out of order. Yay. The closest tire place was most likely gonna charge and arm and a leg and the way this day was going, I wanted to tap out. I'm going in full body melt down. I ended up pulling into the parking lot of the Post Office right off of Hole x Tyler . I called the first company I could think of. Gary answered, took my info, quoted a price, and told me to expect the driver within 20 minutes. Gerardo, the coolest tow truck guy EVER called to let me know he was behind the building (which was on the other side of the block wall) He tells me that he will come around. Ok good, cause I was so distraught at this point. Gerardo comes around, has me move the car to a parking space so that we both were not blocking traffic. As I couldn't understand the perfectly clear directions he was giving me, he kindly asks me to get out so he can straighten out the car in order for him to load onto the tow truck. Thank you Gerardo cause I was already a blithering idiot at this point. Gerardo loads the monster SUV like a piece of cake and we were off! Inside the cab was nice and cool. If you know IE summers, then you know. Very clean inside the cab, very organized. Not at all dirty. Thankfully, the passenger (shotgun side!) seat was comfy as I can't sit longer than 10 minutes. Thank you to my bad back and 3 surgeries. Gerardo was extremely courteous. He tells me a brief history of the company. 3rd generation running the operations. I believe he told me they have been around since 1907? That's impressive! Longevity, I tell ya! He also tells stories of what a tow truck driver has to deal with when the general public acts like fools that the local PD has to get involved. I'm familiar with the types of stories he tells me as I hear them all in the line of work I'm in. True stories do not shock me anymore. Throughout our ride, he tells me how he used to work for a local citrus family owned business and he even pointed out how far the orange groves went. He even pointed out this citrus family business's office. More history! Love it love it love it!! Arrive in front of my parents' house and Gerardo was very polite to my mother. He lowers the monster SUV back onto the pavement and makes a quick call to have his home office run the credit card for payment. He actually apologizes for the wait as the dispatcher he's speaking with has three other lines ringing. 5 Stars all around! Customer service was exemplary. The cost of the tow was way better than I expected. Bauman's Towing, what will you do when it's time for Gerardo to retire? He's great! Don't lose him! Lesson learned today: not all tow truck drivers are mean. They're just human like you and me. I lucked out today! Definitely recommending Bauman's Towing to anyone who will listen. I think it's sad that no one has reviewed Bauman's yet! Such a great establishment, I had a wonderful experience with them yesterday (as wonderful as having my car towed can be!), the man I spoke to on the phone as well as the man who towed me were both very nice. The price is pretty decent, especially for the service you recieve. Quick, professional employees. The man who towed me even made sure I had a ride back to my apartment after we got my car checked into the mechanic. I've never needed a tow before, so he totally helped me out with everything. For those who need a tow, whether your insurance pays for it or not, I would highly recommend Bauman's. Sherri was great on the phone, taking all my information and graciously giving me a quote. I live in San Diego and bought a truck in Riverside that did not run and needed to be towed 100 miles to my place. I though of hiring a local towing outfit from SD, but they were almost $200 more for the same service. When I was ready, Gary responded, took my info of where the truck was to be delivered and delivered the truck in what seemed to be record time. Honestly, I read and used the reviews on Yelp to make my decision, that and the fact that Bauman's was almost $200 cheaper. But this is one of those cases where being cheaper doesn't mean that you are getting cheap service. If I was ever in the area or knew anyone in the area that needed a tow, Bauman's would be the first on my list. My only bad part was that I felt bad for Gary heading back North to Riverside as he was going to catch all the traffic leaving San Diego. The least I could do was write this review in hopes it helps them out since they did me a solid. read more

(See edit at the end of review) After an accident, I selected this towing company because it was near my house and the Yelp reviews were positive. I called at 3:23 p.m. to see about getting my car towed back to my house and spoke to a receptionist. At 4:25, the driver brought my car to my house. I was charged for two hours, but it had only been a hair over an hour since I first called--I have no idea when the driver left the shop. (The charge was $170.) Since I was confused about the charge, I asked the driver about it. He said they charge from when he leaves until when he returns. He left my house at 4:35. I can't imagine it took him 50 minutes to drive the 3.5 miles back to the shop. What I appreciated is that it was super fast! What I was stunned about was the way that an hour was decided. Edit: The business called me a day after the towing and told me that I'd been overcharged and sent me a check for $63. read more

I have not had this kind of awesome service in a very very long time. Bauman's Tow Service is overwhelmingly the best. Stuck out in Riverside, (sadly) our insurance company who supposedly furnishes tow service left us high & dry. Told us to "call back Monday". Really? The accident was Friday! Went on Yelp & Bauman's was the first one up. I called and Ronnie answered. Gave me up-front, firm information. Over-the-phone estimate on towing us nearly 50 miles to OC. Showed up as promised and charged as promised. No hidden jack-me-around rates or talk. Went back on Yelp to rate and saw that they were CLOSED when I called in the first place! Omg, are people still this good? I am overwhelmingly grateful. Don't know the driver's name, the receipt says GB. He & my son spent some quality time yaking it up during the two-hour drive to Orange County. What a wonderful man. My faith in humanity is restored! Thank you everyone at Bauman's Towing. read more

Got flat tire late at night in Tesla. Called for roadside assistance and was assigned to Bauman tow service. They came sooner than expected wait time, changed tire and had me on my way in less than 10 minutes. I don't remember tow drivers name (older gentleman) but he was very professional and courteous. First time needing to tow, so I'm glad I went with these guys and had an amazing experience. I called three days early just to be sure I could secure an appointment in case it took a while to get in touch - they picked up on the first call. Talked to the rep for a few minutes to get fare and general info, they told me to call back the day before I needed the tow to make the appointment. That day rolls around and I did just that - once again no trouble reaching them, the receptionist was very kind and friendly, we got an appointment set and ready in 10 minutes. I hang up and go about my business when later she calls back again - she had apparently checked traffic for the next morning when I planned for the tow and suggested that I bump it back an hour to avoid rush hour - said she was just trying to save me some time and money - how considerate! I agreed and we set the new time, then because I mentioned my car was lowered she said the tow man would like to come by that day to check it out first to make sure he had all the proper equipment to load the car at all, in case it ended up being too low and they had to cancel on me the morning of. The tow man - George - came by and checked it out, gave me the all clear, and assured we were set for the next morning. Next morning rolls around and I get a call ten minutes before our appointment time from George saying he'll be there at 9:00 on the dot (sure enough he was). We spent 15 minutes loading the car up with the help of some wooden ramps (no bumper pulling needed) and got going. George knew exactly what he was doing and we were on our way in no time. I'm glad the tow truck had two passenger seats so my girlfriend and I could ride up front no problem. George was very accommodating the whole ride - offered full control of the air conditioning, Windows, etc. All in all it was an excellent and relaxing ride; we went all the way from Riverside to Anaheim in about an hour and a half. We have Triple-A, but when I called them to get a quote all they could say was, "$7-$10 a mile depending on the driver." We needed our truck towed 17 miles, so it could have been $170. So I called Bauman's and a very nice lady, Sherry, answered and asked basic yet important questions. First, she was concerned that we weren't in a dangerous place. Then she asked about our truck so that they could get the correct tow and driver out to us. Last she said that the driver could meet us at our convenience. So G.B. (one of the Baumans) came out to help us, he knew exactly where we were going and how long it would take. So professional and knowledgeable, yet helpful and friendly, G.B. even cracked some jokes for us. Plus he gave us a receipt from our credit card payment AND a detailed hand-written receipt to give to our insurance. WOW!! I would definitely use them again. read more

Super Quick, Efficient, and Reliable service. The professional staffs will really take care of you. I called a couple of Tow and jumpstart services within Riverside, CA area before decided to go with Bauman's Tow Service. Mainly because unlike most other services, where you'd either be directed to a voicemail answering machine, or be told to wait for at least a ridiculous 45 to 60 minutes before anyone can get to you, Bauman's Towing is pretty straight forward and reliable. They sure did got me out of my situation. And most importantly, they arrived on site less than the initial timeline they said they would get to me, which was an amazing 25-30 minutes. I would rather pay an extra fee for any company with amazing customer service and that also values their customers and treat them like family. Thank you Bauman for your amazing service. I left my apartment the other morning to find a flat and there was no way I could drive it to America's Tires without further damage. And there was no way I was going to be able to put on a spare by myself considering that I have trouble putting down my roommate`s hand brake. Weak thumbs. So I gave Bauman's a call. They were nice, efficient and cheaper than I expected: $83. Not only that but I didn`t actually have the address of where my car was at and spent a good few minutes trying to explain to the poor man my warped map of Riverside but it was no problem for them at all! read more

So on my way to work my car started acting funny, like if I was driving with the brakes engaged. Called Bauman's up and they were there in about 15 min. Gary was really nice; kinda like a cool uncle. Anyway, he drove me to a car shop and went on his way. The car place couldn't replicate the problem during their inspection, so I picked the car up; everything seemed fine. Later that night my fiancee and I drove from Cranford to Vine when the car started acting up again, but this time I could smell something caustic. Suffice it to say, I was stuck again. I called up Bauman's again and guess who showed up? That's right, it was Gary again! He must long hours if since he also picked me up in the morning. Again, great guy, and the stories he told me of his towing adventures was pretty good. One thing Gary pointed out to me this time was that the front tires seemed to be hot, and the smell was most likely coming from the brakes. When dropping off the car to the car place, he even gave me an early bird envelope to drop my keys off so I didn't have to stop by the car place in the morning. Can't believe there are not many reviews for this towing company... VERY good service. Was told a truck would be at my place in less than 45 to pick up the car, and sure enough was there within a half hour. The driver was the most friendly guy I have met in the towing industry in a very long time. He was very professional loading and unloading my car, careful not to damage it in anyway (It sits lower than most cars). I will definitely be using this company and their services again in the Future. 5 star rating for good price, fast professional service and a overall well rounded experience! read more

My mom recently got into a hit and run car accident. Being alone and overwhelmed, the police called Bauman's tow service for her and they quickly came to tow her car. My mom said she was treated with such kindness when he came. She said that they were genuinely concerned about her and even asked the police (who wanted to leave her stranded on the side of the road) to drop her off at the jack in the box down the way. I'm so happy someone treated my mom with care, even making a follow up call letting her know when her car was being taken to the mechanic so we wouldn't have to guess all day about it. You may not want to have to pull your car off a freeway in the cold dark night... but if you have to, I PRAY that you are near Bauman's Tow Service. Even after calling AAA and then calling my insurance company, paying Bauman's out of my own pocket was less expensive than using either of the other two sources. If I could rave louder about how punctual and professional Gary was, how safe I felt knowing my family was in their hands.... you would all be def with how loud I would rave. =) From the initial call (after 7 pm I believe), to the drop off at my house (two counties away), I was grateful for their service. AWESOME! I called around before finally reading the previous review and I was not disappointed. When I called they answered promptly and sounded friendly unlike all other shops. The truck came when they said it was, the driver was extremely professional, and my car was loaded on a flat bed which was a great surprise. My girlfriend and I rode in the tow truck across town while having a friendly conversation with the driver. Bauman's made having my car towed as fun as it can possibly be. Give them a call! Great experience! We don't have AAA so I googled Riverside Tow and Bauman's was one of the first to pop up here on Yelp, so I read the other great reviews, gave them a call, and scheduled a pick up for (unfortunately) Labor Day. They didn't seem irritated that they would have to work, like most other people would. The guy called me 30 mins before the scheduled time to make sure we were still a go, and he showed up a few mins early. As we were saying our thanks and paying after the tow, I had told him that we had found them through Yelp, and he had a sense of humor and joked, "Oh yeah, we write those reviews ourselves!" Very friendly and kind people, and I wasn't charged any more for it being on a holiday, 5/5 stars, would use again. Though I'm hoping I don't have to any time soon, because car troubles are an absolute pain, but it makes it a lot easier when dealing with professional, kind help! read more
