Best quiet place to get exceptional quality ramen. The place itself is small so big parties would not be suitable for the space. However, it's perfect for date night or a hangout with friends or family. I would say you could bring a larger party but it would take up multiple tables. The waitress we had was nice and helpful. I could see there being an issue with longer waits if you come during a busy time or they may be short-staffed as only one waitress was around at the time. It took some time to get our orders out but was not a dealbreaker. Food is exceptional quality. The spicy green curry ramen is so delicious. Tastes like you're actually eating curry in ramen form! Quiet ramen place near the Artesia 99 ranch. Went for a quick lunch - plenty of parking at the plaza (though don't park right next to the 99 ranch - it does get pretty crazy). Went inside and was immediately seated. They have a lunch special where you get either a free drink or miso soup with your meal. I ended up ordering the black garlic tonkatsu ramen and added an egg, with a miso soup. The miso soup came fairly quickly, but was pretty salty - think I had to drink about half my water glass after it. The ramen came a little bit afterwards - the broth was ok, it didn't feel rich enough with pork flavor and also was a little salty. The noodles were just ok also. I think the best part was the egg and chashu. The egg was well made and tasty, while the chashu is a bit more on the meaty side vs fatty side (which I prefer). They do only give you two pieces though. The price overall wasn't bad for ramen but I think the saltiness was a bit too much for my taste. They do have other things like curry that look pretty good, perhaps that would be the order if I end up here again. read more

A teeny tiny little ramen (and more!) restaurant with pretty good bites, an excellent lunch spot, but that doesn't stop a dedicated dinner rush from happening in the evening. The Lunch Specials are real stand out deals for a nice casual mid-day break. Personally, I've been a fan of the Tonkotsu (can't beat a good solid classic) and the cheesy katsu curry with a little takoyaki appetizer (ironically probably best left to cool off during the duration of the meal and enjoyed at a non-inferno temperature like a savory dessert. I don't hold this against Ramen Zuru as I know most takoyaki is served at blistering temperatures. Just take it in stride as certification of being freshly made.) The cheesy katsu curry is a good, solid, guaranteed-leftovers meal (Unless you're some serious sort of hungering). The little patch of salad that comes on the plate is so yummy with its dressing. The amount of rice is balanced to the curry. And the cheese? Oh, girl, the cheese. Not much drink variety but that's fine, it's the food that really stands out here. Now, to be fair, a little word to the wise for those with a little cushioning on their thighs: Those little rectangle chairs WILL get uncomfortable. It's usually better if you're wearing something that covers your skin, but I've gone in shorts before and that was a certified Ouch. Ramen Zuru is cool. I came on a Thursday night and there was no wait. We started with the chicken karaage ($8.50). Honestly, they were giving more popcorn chicken than karaage. The chicken came in more bite sized pieces and the batter was fluffier. I topped mine with the chili oil and they were delish with the added heat. I ordered the spicy green curry ramen ($13.95) because how could I not. It's a green curry broth, pork chashu, bean sprouts, fried shallot, coconut milk and chili oil. The broth was unlike anything I've ever tasted before. It's light, but distinctly curry in flavor. I'd like to add that the chili oil is not for the faint of heart - it's spicy, and more spicy. Thank goodness for that bean sprouts which helped with the cool down. We also tried the miso ramen ($13.95) which was good, but nothing to write home about. I really liked my meal at Ramen Zuru. It was easy, tasty, and relatively cheap. Highly recommend trying the spicy green curry ramen if you're looking for a new take on ramen. read more

I was passing by and decided to stop in for lunch. This is a cozy spot that is clean. It was not crowded at lunchtime. The service was great. I ordered the chicken Katsu curry, which was good. The chicken Katsu was cooked perfectly and served on the side. It was nice to the hot crunchy Katsu into the curry. Although the name of this spot has ramen in it, they also have curry and rice bowls on the menu in addition to the ramen. Checked out Ramen Zuru this past Saturday night around 7 and was able to be seated right away (though it did get full throughout the rest of our dinner!). Server was very kind! I got the vegetarian ramen. The broth itself wasn't standout, just a more clear and salty broth. The noodles were very good and they gave a lot. They gave a fair amount of tofu, it just didn't taste of much. The added greens and mushrooms were appreciated! I wish they fried the cauliflower differently too. This place is amazing. I came in around 8pm, an hour before closing. The place is small but we were the only ones there and the vibe was very chill. The food is flavorful and just delicious. The chicken in the bowl was nicely seasoned and perfectly fried, great crunch. There are chopsticks, napkins, chili oil sauce, chili powder, and soy sauce already on the table which is very convenient, no need to wave anyone down. I came here based on the other reviews, and the negative reviews I read are such BS after coming here myself. I'd recommend everyone to try this place out, 10/10. I really liked this place on my first visit back when it opened a long time ago, but every subsequent visit I seem to like it less and less. I think the ingredients they use are solid, all of the food seems to be a pretty good quality, but the flavor of their dishes just hasn't been doing it for me. On my last visit here, my husband and I got their Tonkotsu ramen and Chashu bowl. The noodles are a bit too firm for my liking. It's not undercooked or hard, but it's a lot firmer than I'm used to having. The broth is just fine, a little less flavorful than I'd like. There was two large, hearty slices of chashu in the bowl, but they were severely lacking in flavor. It was just an ok bowl of ramen. The egg was the perfect texture, still runny and gooey. As for the chashu bowl, it was also just ok. It had four large slices of chasu, but as I mentioned above the lack of flavor wasn't really doing it any flavors. The rice, salad, and pickled onions stood out more than the chashu. It's kind of bad that I thought all of the surrounding elements tasted better than the main protein that the dish is named after. The chasu just...Didn't have much flavor. I got my order to-go, but pick up was really easy. Just went into the shop and a server asked for my name and I was able to swiftly pick up my order. Shop is really clean. Very modern ramen shop aesthetic. There's table and bar seating, as well as a kiosk near the entrance where you can put in your order. Overall, I feel very ok about this place. Tonkatsu Ramen Broth is my thing... and the broth here didn't really feel like 18-hour boiled bone soup, and kinda greasy. As toppings, there were 2 chasu pieces, spinach, bean sprouts, eggs (could have been marinated longer), and dry nori. Just OK. Takoyaki Octopus balls looked SOO good. Topping looked great and it came out hot and smelling delicious. Unfortunately it was very batter heavy (though the batter was tasty), with very small portions of octopus inside. Rice w chasu Definitely tastier chasu than the one in the ramen (sad, since it is, after all, a ramen house). And deliciously seasoned. My favorite dish here. I had some hopeful expectations for this place as the overall reviews were positive and the ramen looked good. I came with my friend for dinner around 6pm on a weekday and it was not what we expected... First off, it is in the plaza where 99 Ranch and Daiso is located, so there is plenty of parking, so no worries on that end. The place is a small shop with limited seating and nicely lit. They do have a waitlist...but it is a blank paper where you just write your name, party, and phone number. From the looks of it, it wasn't monitored, or at least that is what it seemed like when I visited. When I went to add my name to the waitlist, there was no more space and there were no additional papers to add more names so I just waited for the server to come by and ask about it. At the time it also looked like a few other people were waiting to also join the waitlist. From the looks of it, there was only 1 server and 2 or 3 cooks. We ended up waiting about 1ish hour to be seated then about another 30 mins for food to come out, which isn't too bad. Originally my friend and I both ordered a Tonkotsu ramen and a side of takoyaki. After about 10 mins of our initial order, the waitress came back to tell us they ran out of Chashu for the Tonkotsu. I ended up subbing it for tempura shrimp, which was a bit disappointing, but understandable. My friend ended up getting the shoyu instead. Understandably, things do run out, so we didn't fault them for that, and they were reasonably accommodating to any substitution requests. The broths for both the Tonkotsu and the Shoyu were quite lacking. To me, it was just way too watery and not really flavorful. The toppings were just alright, just the typical toppings. I did sub in shrimp tempura for the Chashu, and the shrimp tempura was just okay. It looked and tasted like the shrimp tempura you would get at Costco...so I was a bit disappointed in that. I would say that the portions (for the noodles) are quite a lot, more than any other ramen place I've been to, so it is filling. On another note, the noodles for both my friend and my ramen were all mushed together, which was odd to us. We also did get a side of takoyaki... and typically appetizers would be served before the entrée. However, in our case, it was served after our ramen came out and when that happened, we did inquire about. When the waitress did check on it and brought it out she stated that it "just came out". However that was not the case as when we got them, they were warm, not hot, and soggy. Not sure if this is a one-off experience with bad timing, or if this is a consistent norm. But, based on what I experienced during my visit, I don't think I'll be visiting again any time soon. 10/23/23 Yelp helped find this ramen spot & it's actually one that I've passed by dozens of times when I go to 99 Ranch Market, Daiso & then to Pho 2000. It's right on my path. Located inside a shopping center/strip mall on the lot of 99 Ranch. There's plenty of parking but it can get packed during rush hour or weekends because it shares the lot with plenty of businesses. Hubby said it's 'ho-hum', he wasn't impressed. I felt like having both soup & noodles (or something worth using chopsticks hahaha)-so ramen it is. Hubby ordered the chicken curry katsu plate & I got the tonkotsu. First impression, it's quite bland. My broth was "porky", unmistakable smell, not bad but you can really smell the porkiness of it. It sounds funny but that's the best description I can muster. Don't get me wrong. It is not off-putting. So I added the togarashi (red pepper-like dry seasoning) & rayu (it looks like thick chili oil) and that added some flavor to it. Hubby's dish-the katsu breading was also bland-it's like the cook forgot to add salt & pepper to it. It is indeed perfectly breaded & cooked but almost tasteless. The best part was the steamed rice! The curry like sauce was good, nothing to write home about but Hubby was hungry so he ate it. The service was friendly & prompt. Usually, according to the directions on the wall, you're supposed to order using the QR code but the young service told us just to use the WR code to look at at the menu and then she'll manually take our order the old fashioned way. At about 5 pm on Monday, it was just my husband & I at the shop. Our food took less than 10 minutes. I hate giving 3 star reviews, I usually just don't review unless I can give a great one. Having said that let me say that I was probably put off by the heavy bleach smell that greeted us when we first sat down. The service was fine and since it was first time here we ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and karaage chicken. The ramen came with a nice jammy marinated egg and generous slices of pork belly and a nice portion of spinach and bean sprouts to round out the dish. One star off because they use a very thin noodle reminiscent of somen and I am always looking for a nice chewy yellow ramen noodle. The karaage was hot and crisp but didn't have that marinated before frying taste that I want with karaage. The restaurant is small with 4 tables and a bar all with square stool seating except for one high table at the back. I saw high reviews and was craving some Japanese curry. I got the chicken. Katsu curry and side of shrimp tempura. Pros: good sized portions Cons: The tempura was ok but the chicken katsu curry was not.
