Always a 10/10 experience here. My favorite ramen. Have yet to try a place that tops the flavor that is given. The edamame is always cooked well and is given such a huge portion. Gyoza is so good. Ramen is amazing. I always get the OG with a side of the spicy bomb and I just add in as much as I want. The staff is friendly and it's usually always busy at this location but I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. The seating could be better IMO but I think it's just their vibe.

Food tastes great and the portion size is always enough for leftovers. They're always fast too no matter how packed they are. $42 for two entrees and two drinks (alcohol).

Our go-to ramen spot!! I usually order the number 1 but sometimes we try their special ramen! We had a good crawfish ramen here but 18$ seemed a little pricey when their normal ramen bowl is 10-13$.

I used to highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend ramen tatsuya but I wouldn't put it as my top ramen shop anymore. Granted, a lot has changed since I was at a ramen tatsuya. Coming from out of town, I still remembered my very first time at the original location. This time, I asked to stop by since we were in Austin and I knew the menu had changed since I was here but I'm not surprised. I got the ol skool and added corn and a spice bomb. I tried it without the spice bomb and loved it but added the spice thinking I'd love it even more (since I love spicy food) but surprisingly I didn't... I felt I couldn't taste the flavourful broth anymore and all I could taste were the peppers. Another thing was, a bunch of white onions. I was not thrilled about the huge portion of it. I don't mind onions but felt it was way too much in mine. The chasu was kind of thin but still good. Nori sheet was small. Maybe someone else might love a huge dose of white onions in their ramen but not me. The OG ramen had thinner noodles than the ol skool but flavor of the broth was good. My bf had this and he felt it was too much negi. He also felt the chasu was good but wish there was more of it since it only gave one. We may order extra next time. We did order the chili oil gyoza and I think we both agree this was the best thing we had there. Gyoza was cooked perfectly with a nice zest to it! It wasn't even too spicy! Highly recommend. $7 only All in all I think it's still a good ramen place to stop by but I think I wouldn't put it as my number one ramen stop anymore. Would have to remember to just get the ol skool without the spice bomb, and order additional chasu, light white onions

Kemuri Tatsu-ya is a fav so I was happy to get some ramen at Ramen Tatsu-ya. It was good. Delicious. Tasty. I had the OG ramen and some dumplings. The service was friendly and efficient. The ambiance is casual w really cool design. We enjoyed our visit.

Ramen Tatsyu Ya is a gem! I tried their OG ramen and it did not disappoint. The service was super fast, you order at the counter, and even though they were busy, my food came out quickly. The noodles were perfectly al dente, the broth was balanced (not too salty or greasy), and the chashu literally melted in my mouth. All of this at an affordable price, definitely worth a visit!

I was in the mood for ramen and decided to pick up a to go order from Ramen Tatsu-Ya on the way home. Ramen Tatsu-ya is the long-awaited collaboration between local chefs/DJs, Tatsu Aikawa and Takuya Matsumoto. I tried to order in the app, but with 30 minutes before closing the Toast Tab app was not accepting any to go orders for the evening. So I called the restaurant to place a to go order on the phone and was informed that I could only order online or when I arrived at the store but I had plenty of time as long as I arrived in the next 20 minutes. When I arrived at the store, I placed a to go order at the counter. There is a small service charge when you place a to go order versus eating at the restaurant. My food was prepared within 10 minutes and it was packed securely. The food was still warm when I arrived home. I ordered the Ol School which is hicken shoyu broth, chashu pork, ajitama egg, menma, scallion, white onion, nori, pepper. I love that the noodles are hand made and not ramen from a package. The broth is rich and the noodles and toppings were plentiful. The broth is packed separate from the noodles and toppings so things do not get soggy. When I combined everything in the bowl, the ramen tastes just like when you eat it at the restaurant. You can tell a lot of effort goes into making the noodles fresh and creating the flavors in the broth. This is my go to place for ramen.

Miso #4 MI-SO-HOT (Tonkotsu) extra Ajitsuke.

I got the miso hot ramen with the extra Ajitsuke one of the best part of the dish. Food is good, service is good atmosphere is good music playing. Definitely, a spot you can hang out with friends. Or family.

How has it taken me this long to try ramen tatsuya?! We visited on a weeknight and it was fairly busy. We were able to walk right up to the counter and order and they gave us a table number. The food came out in good time. The broth was so tasty! It was rich, but not too rich where it would be overwhelming. The ingredients seems fresh and I devoured it. I recommend the mi-so-not as pictured here. We also ordered the hot sake, which is served in an individual sized carafe.

How in the warm belly goodness have I lived without this place? The menu is extensive and could be confusing and overwhelming if you're not a Ramen- Master, but fear not! The guy at the register (Mike) holds a DOCTORATE in making your Ramen everything you want it to be! He helped us add to our bowls, suggested the ginger salad ( to die for!) and came on checked on us. Mike even gave us a slurpin it up right tutorial! So kind, so helpful, so knowledgeable and so fun! He made a delicious meal feel extra special with the care and service he offered!!

Chicken karaage is delicious! I thought the OG was alright. The meat and egg are great, but the ramen doesn't fill me up. The flavor of the broth doesn't wow me. I like the decorations here, both inside and outside! The unisex restrooms have cartoons on the walls-so cute! They have a parking lot outside. You have to walk around the building to find the entrance.

For those who don't want to be left out .

Definitely have to pay extra for more ramen. Service is amazing, they even have a takeout window. a go to spot for sure.

Excellent quick service ramen chain. The broth is super flavorful and the toppings are good quality. The spicy bomb was not too spicy and a lovely addition to any of the ramen. We tried the croquet and the beef slider and they were very flavorful and oily and everything you want in a quick street food-style snack. I could eat the ajitama eggs with every meal.

Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. #5 Tsukemen/Dipping Broth ($16.50): The dipping broth wasn't umami enough to hold up as a true dipping broth, so we ended up pouring it over our noodles and eating it like a regular ramen bowl. The flavors were really good and better than the MI-SO-HOT. The only complaint about the broth was that it wasn't warm or hot. The noodles were bouncy and thick like udon, which I loved. They only gave one slice of chashu, which was disappointing, so I'm glad we added the extra Goma Pork/Sesame Seasoned Ground Pork ($2.50) and Naruto Maki ($1.50). Chashu Rice Bowl ($8.50): Good, but not as flavorful or melt-in-your-mouth as last time. #4 MI-SO-HOT (Tonkotsu) ($16): My cousin got this and it was actually bulked out with veggies. It was good, but the flavors weren't anything standout. Not super spicy either, so the heat is very tolerable.

The bowl was loaded with a ton of lettuce or cabbage and piles of green onions, which totally threw off the balance of the dish. Before, the flavor was rich, deep, and spicy in a satisfying way. This time it felt watered down, overly bulky from the vegetables, and the overall taste just did not resemble what I remember at all. It felt like a completely different recipe. On top of that, the restaurant was dead at lunch, which was surprising for this place. The inside layout and seating have also been changed, and the space feels less cozy and more awkward than before. The whole vibe is just different. I hate writing this because this used to be the OG best ramen spot in town, but it has gone really downhill. Between the recipe change, the overload of greens, and the interior changes, it just was not the same experience. With so many new and better options around Austin now, I will not be returning. Sadly.....Check the last two photos for reference - time/date stamp.

We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce.
