Ramces Tree services were able to give me a fair estimate sane day I called them after a third of a large box alder tree broke off in the backyard after recent storms. They were able to remove the entire tree to the ground the next day. They also removed a large palm tree that had grown too close to the house. Ramces and his crew were very professional and efficient and used appropriate safety equipment. They chipped the box alder tree and provided us with the organic mulch. I would definitely recommend them. Satisfied customer read more

I called Ramces yesterday for a quote to remove 3 trees and trim one. They responded right away and came to my house to survey the tress. They gave us a very reasonable quote. So we decided to accept the offer. In addition, we realize that we needed to replant a new tree. Ramces agreed to help us to pick up a new maple tree from a nursery and help us plant it for additional service. The next morning , Ramces and his crew came on time. They did everything very professionally and very courteously. We are very happy about his service. We will tell our neighbors if anyone needs tree services read more

This is just a review on the initial response from this company. I didn't follow thru with his tree cutting service. However wanted to let him know that I liked his professionalism. Had posted a request on yelp and his company quickly sent a response. After I called, Ramces came the same day to do a free estimate and offered a good price. On time and very nice. read more

I got 5 quotes to remove a yucca tree that was 4.5' in diameter and pushing against the garage. Ramces beat the other quotes by a few hundred dollars. They shared license and insurance documentation. Good job at a good price. Because my fallen tree was too rotten to make good firewood, they delivered split firewood from earlier jobs.

Ramces contacted me quickly, came same day to give and estimate, and arranged for my tree work to start the next day. I thought his estimate was reasonable compared to previous estimates I'd gotten for other tree work, but I didn't get any other estimates for this job because everything happened so fast! The job involved pruning a 20 ft oak tree that had probably never been thinned, cutting back another overgrown tree (pittosporum), and removing a dead branch from a birch. I was *very* impressed with the job done on the oak--it looked beautiful after pruning, very aesthetically done! The other two trees he did a good job. Didn't knock my socks of with the beauty, but totally competent job. Did the job quickly, cleaned up well, communicated well. I'm very satisfied with the work and would definitely call him again. read more

A large tree fell on our house over the holidays while we were gone. We are located on a steep hill, with the tree in the backyard, so it was by no means an easy job. Ramces came down the same day, quoted us 3.5k, and was available for scheduling the next day. Given the somewhat precarious situation, not having any additional damage done is all I could really ask for. Overall, great performance for a challenging rush job. read more

Ramces just finished a large tree planting project at our home and I have to say that it was an absolute pleasure working with him and his teammate, Jose. He was very quick to respond to my inquiry, showed up for a consultation/quote the same day, and completed the work way ahead of what I was hoping for. He's a great communicator, professional, and obviously very knowledgable about trees. Would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

Our tree came down at 3:30 PM, shifting in the wind against our house and our neighbor's house. By 7:30, the tree was cleared, and the work was done. The team was polite, careful,?professional, and fast-working. I imagine I might have obtained similar work more cheaply, but not better, and the rapid and competent work under windy conditions prevented further damage to our property. I recommend them highly. read more

They respond quick when I call them to schedule to come in for tree service, I had a lots of questions but Ramces always answered with patience. Ramces and his crew had the best service and good pricing. I had a 40+ ft. elm tree in my front yard that was entangling with phone/internet lines...not to mention the thousands of leaves that my neighbors and I had to clean up every year. In just a matter of hours, the tree was safely cut to ground level and debris was shredded and hauled away. To save costs, a few segments of the tree trunk was left, but they cut the chunks into easy-to-carry size prices that I can use as firewood in the future. They were quick, friendly, responsive, and their 20+ years of experience really shows with their quality work. Highly recommended. read more

We had several overgrown trees, bushes, and other wild looking plants in our garden areas, and after less than a day, Ramces and his associate turned these spaces into works of art! What a great value for high-quality tree removal! I had a tall and dangerous tree that was very near buildings. Ramces and his team gave me a quick, fair estimate, and things went very smoothly on the day that we booked the removal. They worked around the unique needs of my property including access, plumbing, and disposal, and they did a great job of keeping me and everyone safe during the pandemic too! 10 out of 10, will definitely book these folks again if I ever need tree service, and will recommend them whole-heartedly to my community. read more

One of our fruit trees was so heavy laden with fruit, it had broken a very heavy limb which went over the property line, and I wanted to take care of the broken limb as soon as possible without having an injury to our neighbors. We also had a dead Loquat tree that needed to be removed as well, and I didn't want to wait a minute longer since the broken branch and tree were next to each other. I contacted several companies on yelp, and Ramces Tree Services was the only company that said they could be there today to give me an estimate on the work and do the work as described. He arrived promptly, and I took him to the back patio where the trees were. The technician gave a quick quote, said he could do it immediately, and we struck a deal. He could also have all the fruit from the branch (two heavy bags worth) as extra compensation. It had been over two years since we had a thorough pruning of all our fruit trees because of covid, and he did a quick and complete job in less than an hour. I will be contacting them in the winter to get my trees under control and growing bountiful and healthy fruit! read more

Got immediate call back, estimate same day, fair price, wrapped up in a week.

If I could give negative stars I would. I had five fruit trees that needed to be pruned and wrapped in net to keep the squirrels out. The person who did this service for many years was no longer available. Ramces had gotten good reviews. They sent someone out to assess the job. I pointed to the five trees and explained what I wanted. This is pretty basic stuff; gardening 101. He said they could do the job for $200. I sent Ramces a message asking for a written estimate. They did not reply. I asked them to confirm $200 to prune and net five trees. They did not reply. In the perfect wisdom of hindsight this was a big red flag; unfortunately I did not cancel the service. When they showed up to do the work I again pointed to the five trees. I set out five nets with cotton twine to tie the nets to the tree trunks. I said I had a business call and needed to be inside but they could let me know if they had questions. When they said they were done I was surprised several nets were still in original packaging unopened. The nets were draped over the tops of the trees unfastened. I told them squirrels would run right up the trunks. The tied the nets to trunks but then the crowns were uncovered. Nets are big enough to completely wrap the trees; something was wrong. They then said the job was $300. I was not happy but had never gotten a written estimate and could not prove they had said $200 so I paid $300. I asked for a written receipt. They said they would email one. They did not. When I inspected the work, I realized Ramces had sent people who had absolutely no idea how to do the job. Calling it butchery would insult butchers. Pruning is not a matter of hacking trees to a given height; it's what to cut and how. They hacked off fruiting branches while leaving the dead wood and suckers. Cuts should be made diagonally so rain water, if we ever get any rain, runs off. They hacked straight across. Rain water will sit in the cuts, leaving trees susceptible to fungus. I found a net tossed aside on the ground all tangled. They did not know how to net trees, and apparently got the "brilliant" idea of cutting nets in half to make them easier to work with. That was why they trees were not covered. Even if someone knows nothing about trees, basic brains should show that you can't keep out squirrels if there is a gap in the net big enough for a German shepherd to stroll through. They also wrapped half-nets around two trees I had not asked them to net. I contacted Ramces and said how disappointed I was in their poor work. After some back and forth they said they would refund my money. It's been over a week and I have not received the check they promised to send me. I sent them three messages asking about the refund. They did not reply. Clearly they have no intention of refunding my money, adding dishonesty to incompetence. I now have the headache of filing in small claims court to recover my $300, which I absolutely plan to do if refund not received in another week. Thursday I bought new nets and paid another service $650 to repair the damage as best they could. I am a senior on a tight budget so this was a very big deal. The new service tidied up the trees and wrapped them securely in net. But Ramces cut off so many fruiting branches it will take 2-3 years before the trees are back up to full production. I paid Ramces $300 to damage my fruit trees and cut up some nets. read more

I needed some overdue tree work on our property in El Cerrito. Ramces gave an estimate, (prices were average for area). Hired them to do the work, andwas completely satisfied, more than satisfied actually. A few months later a large pine tree went down in the backyard during massive windstorm where winds reached 60mph, you might even remember that night, it was crazy high winds in Bay Area. (The city sent an emergency crew to remove the tree that had fallen across a a court/street in the rear of our property.) Ramces came out and removed a companion tree that was also vulnerable and aging, and also removed a large stump the city crew had left behind. Prices were all average for the area and work performed was impressive. Dealing with the large trees on our property isn't even something I want to think about, but Ramces and his team made things really easy and the job was very well done, and quick too. I was impressed. I think they've done work on our property 3 times, once was a semi-emergency. We live in the east bay hills; if you have trees on your property that need work, from our experience you can safely hire them to do the work. Griselda, who I think is family, helps set up appt's, and she's quick to respond. I will continue to use them for sure. I'll try and upload photos. read more
