Needed a tree stump removed. Rafael texted back quickly with a quote and did a great job grinding down the stump and replacing with dirt so there wasn't a giant hole left. He added $20 to the estimate when it was time to pay, to cover dirt removal. He also gave me some advice on a growing Oak tree in my front yard. Nice job! read more

If you're like me, you probably knew your trees needed some trimming for a good while before you hired someone to do the work. We needed some trees back trimmed back / down considerably, and Rafael did a great job. He was responsive when my neighbor (who also needed trees trimmed) reached out to him, came out quickly to give us a very reasonable quote, and had the work done in a couple of days. He and his helper also cleaned up the work site very thoroughly, which I appreciated. Big thumbs-up from me. read more

Shout out to Rafael for rescuing our kitten in our 85 foot redwood tree. He answered immediately and came to the house within 15mins! We should have called him first! The day before we wasted our money with another tree service and it was unsuccessful, we had to pay and no kitten. I should have done my research and found eagle tree service first! He is a cat whisperer, he didn't rush in anyway and within 30 minutes he captured the kitten! I told him he needs to partner with the aspca. Will all the services that we have in the Bay Area for animals not one wanted to help. I called the fire dept .. no help whatsoever. Called animal control said it will come down on its own, didn't happen. It was up there for a total of 3 days.. I'm just very blessed that god lead me to Rafael. A true blessing in the sky. If you have have a cat that needs to be rescued, Rafael is your man!!! Thank you again! read more

I was amazed to see how skillfully he cut that big tree down and got it all cleared out. read more

Rafael has now done 2 jobs for us. The first was an emergency tree removal where he was the most professional and had the best price out of 3 other local companies. When another tree fell during the recent storms it was a no brainer to call him again. Just like the first time he was quick to respond, accommodating with schedules, and the price was extremely fair. I can't recommend Rafael and his crew enough. read more

If I could leave 10 stars I would. Rafael was our hero tonight! An hour before sunset our small cat was chased up a tree by a dog. She was VERY high and too scared to come down. I tried calling other 24 hour arborists, but no one answered. Rafael picked up immediately and was ready to help. After I sent him my address he arrived within 15 minutes with his gear and a backpack to safely bring the cat down. He was friendly and professional, and very sweet to my scared cat. They were both back down within 10 minutes. I was extremely grateful for the quick 24hr service. If your cat is up a tree, this is who to call. Bonus, his price is extremely reasonable compared to other arborist services. I will definitely be giving Rafael a call again when it is time to trim my Gingko tree. read more

I can not recommend Eagle Tree Service. They cut my trees at my neighbor's direction, 2 feet over the property line onto my property. The worst part was went over to speak to them, he insisted it was legal and that he hadn't crossed my property line. I think two feet past my fence constitutes my property. They leaned their ladder against my fence, and used my trees to put up ropes. The worst part was when I went to tell them they did not have permission they argued with me. Very depressing and disappointing. My neighbor has been cutting my trees without my permission for years, and tree trimmers who illegally cross property lines enable her. My trees are completely butchered. He had the gall to tell me they were going to "grow back beautifully." read more

Rafael and his crew are the best. This is the 3rd time we have used Eagle to trim our massive oak trees. He is thoughtful in his work, and the cleanup was done well. A+ read more

Our neighbors were getting a tree removed from their yard and I was woken up at 4 AM by their chainsaw. I was concerned about who would be using a chainsaw in the middle of the night, and thought it would end soon, but instead a little while later their loud truck engine began roaring and they started using the giant chipper machine. At 4:30 in the morning!!! This was right outside our windows in the middle of the night and went on for almost 2 hours. It woke up our 3 and 5 year old children and none of us got any sleep. Using incredibly loud machinery at that hour is more than rude, it's illegal. read more

I highly recommended this tree service. Rafael does good work and he's very nice. His price is fair. We will definitely use him again.

A huge tree branch from a cedar tree in my backyard fell off and destroyed my neighbors fence and took of the cutter on my garage. Called a couple off tree services and my man Rafael came through with the best price. After reading other reviews left for his service, I got him to do the job. They were quick, very professional and did an amazing job. I wasn't there to witness the work, but heard they worked like surgical artist taking down the tree. So, "word up!" to them. Use these dudes for your tree needs. read more

The recent rains caused a large dead tree to fall along side my house. I called 5 different tree services and all of them were able to come out and provide an in-person estimate within an hour. Some of them said they could remove the tree same day, and Rafael and his team were able to remove it in just a few hours, same day, and for the best price as well. They came when they said, were polite and careful, and got the job done in a skillful way. They swept up my drive way after and made the process easy. Recommended to anyone. read more

Was referred by a neighbor who had recently used Eagle Tree Service for their tree removal. Called Rafael on a Tuesday afternoon and he came out the same day a couple hours later to inspect and give us a reasonable quote. He and his crew came out today and took down a rotted tree we had in the backyard, grinding down the stump, trimmed our magnolia tree, and cut two wisteria plants that had a growth on them. They cleaned up really well after and got the work done quickly. Appreciated the ease of this process. read more

Rafael and his team did a great job on our yard. We have a few, large fruit trees that need pruning and a flowering tree we wanted to cut down because it was damaging our fence. The pruning was done fabulously. My specifications were to have smaller trees where we can reach the fruits, but also shaped nicely. As Rafael is an arborist, I trusted he knew how to properly prune them, and he did exactly that. They cleaned up the yard. We were very happy with the job done. Last but not least, Rafael was responsive to my initial call, was courteous, and arrived at the time specified for the job. I highly recommend Eagle Tree Service. read more

Not super pleased. We made an appointment and he was a no show. No courtesy call or text. It took me calling him to get confirmation that he wasn't coming. No apologies, just an attempt to reschedule. If I can't get common professionalism on an estimate, how can I trust him to do good work? read more

It seemed impossible. An enormous branch of a 30 foot tree rooted just over my fence on Caltrans land was threatening my property, but I couldn't imagine how anyone could get it out of there considering that the walkway that connects that area to my driveway is less than 3 feet wide and there is no place to put a crane. I called Rafael based on the reviews and he came over immediately and gave me an estimate. He and his helper showed up a tad early on the promised day, worked steadily for about three hours and took out the offending branch in chunks, also trimming another Caltrans tree that was threatening the garage. They cleaned up beautifully afterwards. My only small quibble is that Rafael had promised to leave some chips for mulch and barbecue and apparently forgot, but I would not hesitate to hire him again when the trees need trimming. They removed the problematic branches but left the entire canopy, which is very nice. Very professional work. read more

On one hand, I am very glad that Rafael's Tree Service has grown. One the other hand, I now have to compete with so many other people that find his talent for cutting trees and his genuine professionalism as favorable as I do. Mostly, I am glad he is being recognized. Eagle Tree has been working on the trees in our yard for about 10 years and they know what they are doing. He has taken some trees in our yard that were butchered by previous tree pruners and he has carefully pruned the trees so that now they look almost like normal trees. I simply can not say enough good things about this team. We live in Berkeley on the Arlington and many of my neighbors have used Eagle Tree since seeing the work done in our yard. You are in good hands. read more

Rafael answered the phone and came over to provide an estimate within 30 minutes. He quoted a great price compared to everyone else I spoke with, and came the very next morning to do the job. His work was outstanding, and he really took the time to make sure he did everything with high quality. He even rerouted my sprinkler pipes for me! Could not recommend him enough. read more

I have known Rafael for over 6 years when he worked on trees in my yard when I owned a home. I'm now in a condo complex and look forward to working with him again here. He's always courteous, tells me new information about the trees I'm asking about and has reasonable rates. Plus his crew leaves everything tidy. I've not been disappointed with his service for trimming fruit trees, other decorative trees, a large ash in a neighbor's yard that grew over the fence, and removing a large bush- stump and all. read more

We had a eucalyptus tree on our property that we needed removed as it was becoming a hazard. Rafael responded promptly to our call, gave us a reasonable bid which we accepted, and followed up quickly with an appointment. We highly recommend Rafael, a very nice guy who is excellent at his craft. read more

We needed to remove a tree that was unsafe and could have fallen. It would have ruined my neighborhoods fence. I had spoken to three other arborist, who had similar pricing. Rafael was the most reasonable pricing. He and his company were very efficient and communication was prompt. It was raining on our scheduled day so we had to reschedule, which I felt was the smartest and safest. He cut this big old tree in less than an hour. He has been in this business for many years based on reviews, which is why I trusted his company. They are insured as well. I will refer Rafael to friends most definitely. read more

A large live oak tree came down in my yard during the heavy winds we had recently. I called Eagle Tree Service, and they came out within half an hour to look at the job. They came back the next day and removed the tree without damaging anything else. When I noticed the oak tree had damaged my lemon tree when it fell, they took those damaged limbs, too. They cleaned up afterward and even gathered up the green lemons from the damaged limbs so I could have them. Let's hope they ripen. I would definitely call them again if I needed tree service. read more
