I reached out to Local Gate Service initially I reached Ron (Dad) I explained to him my needs. I had an existing gate that was set up, strictly on a solar panel with batteries when the weather got bad cloudy days or when the solar panel got too much pollen on it or just got dirty. the gate would be super slow and it just wouldn't work. I had finally decided it was time to switch it over to a electric gate with battery back up. Ron understood my needs perfectly. He told me he would have his son Shawn Call me to discuss exactly what I needed done requested that I send him. Some pictures pictures were sent. SHAWN got back to me promptly told me what he felt was the best motor for the job which was a LiftMaster, which was a name that I'm familiar with as I've had LiftMaster garage doors for many years never had a single problem so I'm sure there reliability carried over to their GATE motors. Other companies have come out to give me a bid you'll see in the pictures attached below the existing motor they all told me that they would need to come and pour a concrete slab to mount the new LiftMaster motor that would take a few days and it definitely increase the price immediately just by looking at the pictures Ron had a different plan. He was able to have this plan because he has master welders part of his installation team, they thought outside the box and said now this will be a quick and easy job. You already have two posts that are sunk in the ground for the existing motor so on site they fabricated and welded a tray and then welded it to the two existing post so you'll see the new motor is suspended above the ground which I like better anyway kind of keeps rodents not wanting to go in there and just keeps the whole thing cleaner when I'm blowing out, unable to blow underneath it leaves and things their installation was on time because of the welding and not having to pour a slab they were in and out one day they painted the old gate they tested it. They provided me with three remotes and two keypads. I would not hesitate to call them again in the future for any other needs specially because their ability to think outside the box, manufacture, and weld on site. Shawn is the Son. He's the one that you'll do most communications with definitely very knowledgeable follows through calling explaining and made sure to let you know that they'll be there to stand behind the product and installation the entire warranty. I called Local Gate Service yesterday since my automatic sliding gate stopped working. I spoke to Ron about my issue with my gate opener and he was able to set up a phone appointment with his son, Shawn, the next day. Shawn was very patient with me over the phone and was able to guide me through all the steps needed to help fix my issue. I'm not a handy person but with Shawn's guidance and assistance, I was able to fix my electric gate motor. We moved to a new house that had a discarded driveway gate and Shawn and Ron were able to find a new one that matched the aesthetic of the the remaining fence perfectly. In addition to procuring the gate and motor, cement pads had to be layed and the workers took extra care to reduce impact to the vegetation around the work area. I called Local Gate Service. I needed service/repair for an Automatic Sliding Gate. Ron was very cordial, professional, and of course knowledgeable. He requested I send him pictures of my Automatic Sliding Gate/Eagle Motor, etc. My issue was a Broken Chain, excessive noise, and the Gate would continuously hit the side of the house. Well, a couple of days later, the Gate was operating perfectly, better than ever in fact. This is a top notch company. Ron and his son Shawn were always extremely helpful and accommodating. A brand new Chain was installed. New tires. And the motion/tension was adjusted. My Eagle Motor didn't need replacement as it's still operational. But it's an older motor (15 years old). I just got off the phone with Ron. What a great guy! Honesty and candor are unfortunately in short supply in today's world. But not with Ron. I described the issue I am having with my automated gate. Everything else is working, but I have lost the ability to get the "attention" of the call box from inside the house (but I still can provide commands to the gate when someone presses the call button from the call box). He advised that there must be a partial defect with my main circuit board, but then without hesitation he told me two things. First, it would NOT be wise to replace the board on such an old unit (it is 20 years old). The board costs solidly $800 plus labor, and that is too money much to sink in a 20-year old call box. Second, he said he would also advise against replacing the call box at this time. That would be several thousands of dollars, and the point is the unit is still providing the core functionality. While he would like the business of course, his honest advice is to sit tight. Which makes a lot of sense. But I am not sure there are many folks out there who would encourage me to not hire them. So thanks Ron! I know who to call in the future when it is time to replace that call box. read more
