Our custom built driveway gate
Gal S.

This review has been a long time coming(: Shawn the project manager has been working with me and my wife for quite a while on our gate design. We where looking to get some the custom made for our driveway so shawn had offered us a few different options for driveway gate and also for pedestrian doors. Once the gate fabrication and installation was done Local gate service also installed the lift master automatic gate operating system and gave is 2 free remotes so now we done have to get out of our car each time we get to the gate. The things that we really appreciate and would like to mention: Good craftsmanship Great communication High attention to detail and very knowledgeable

Local Gate Service is the company to work with if you ask me. After getting 4 different estimates i knew that it doesn't get any better then this. The communication is very important when you get in to a project like this, we had a picture of a dual swing gate from google images and just by showing it to them they where able to make us an exact match in there local shop! From A to Z the whole process was very easy going and the project managers kept updating us with pictures of how thing are moving. When it was all done they installed an automatic operating system for the gate. We had to find a way to let our guest inside we have a really long driveway so they paired us with an entry system that allows us to communicate from where ever we are via cellphone! So i just want to give a big thanks to this humble family business and I would definitely recommend to work with them.

Great final product, but requires extreme customer oversight and persistent escalation…read more I'm giving 2 stars based on severe communication failures and installation hazards, though I do want to credit management for eventually making things right financially after significant pushback on my end. Here is the timeline of what it took to complete this $1,985 fence project: Scheduling Disruption: The project manager asked to move our start date up to Thursday. We rearranged our personal schedules to accommodate them, only for the crew to cancel Thursday morning. - No-Show & Cancellation: The PM promised an ETA for Friday morning but never followed up. After waiting half the day Friday with no crew showing up, my wife and I officially canceled the project. - Unannounced Arrival: Management called Friday afternoon to discuss the cancellation, agreeing to hold off processing until Monday. However, on Saturday at 10:00 AM, installers showed up at my house unannounced with materials, claiming I had approved the start time. - Personal & Work Conflict: Because the crew showed up unannounced, I had to scramble to find work coverage for my on-call shift and cancel our weekend plans. I chose to let them proceed to avoid wasting time and materials. - Workmanship & Safety Concerns: I had to personally supervise the crew to ensure they followed my installation notes. After completion, I had to hammer down exposed staples, remove dangerous exposed nails, and clean up loose hardware and sawdust left across the backyard where my young daughters play. - Resolution Process: Over the project's duration, I was handed off between **three different project managers**. When I brought up the issues on Monday, the PM initially offered a lowball $100 credit. I had to firmly decline, detail the full list of safety hazards and schedule breakdowns, and demand a 15% discount. - The Verdict: To the manager's credit, after I pushed back hard and requested senior management review, he approved the 15% discount ($297.75 off), bringing the final total to $1,687.25. The fence is up and looks good now, but getting here required three days of canceled personal plans, finding last-minute work coverage, cleanup labor on my part, and heavy negotiation to receive fair compensation for the inconvenience. If you hire them, be prepared to manage the project closely yourself.

The not so good?!?! Older fella came out and he didn't seem too happy to be here. He also had a hard time conveying any design ideas and requirements clearly. He had Hispanic accent which I am no stranger too. (I've worked and managed hundreds of Hispanic folk over the years) We finally came to some design and construction details but I felt like I was given a take it or leave it handrail solution. He didn't offer any other constructive solutions unlike another company I was also trying to get a quote from He did throw a price out there before leaving. So with that rough start I decided not to work any further with them. Too bad Oh well. I give them 3 stars for just not putting the best foot forward?

They did not fix it. They also made hand rails for my stairs and that was another disaster. The railings had three code violations. I made the mistake of paying them the same day, I should have had my contractor review their work before i paid them. To top it all off the paint on my gate is corroded after three months. I ended up hiring a different iron company to make me new hand rails. Terrible quality, low price, I will never use them again.
