Jack was my point of contact from project estimate through gate completion. With all said and done, his pricing was competitive with the 4 other quotes I received, maybe not the lowest but also not the highest. Jack initially listened to my request for a solid security gate that did not look like a fortress gate and was as was cost effective as possible. He provided suggestions and recommendations and example pics which made sense. He also gave me a couple residential gates to go look at to see the quality of their work, which I did. Together we were able to quickly agree on a design that met my needs. Jack also took the time to show me the automatic gate opener components and options for locking and wireless operation so that I could actually see what I would be owning. We ended up with the gate in the picture which has the high-end Liftmaster LA5500 automatic gate arm, a magnetic locking mechanism for secure gate closure, wireless operation which now works remotely with my cell phone and also operates my pre-existing Liftmaster garage door openers. The gate frame is 2" square tubed metal and the posts are 5" square diameter. The gate frame and posts are powder coated in a dark bronze color and the post cap shapes can vary but I decided on the ball finials for a more classic appearance as we are in an older historic neighborhood. Jack also added one keypad to the front and one to the back of the gate post so that the gate could be operated manually by code on either side for added convenience (without need of the remote fobs or cell phone/computer app). The installation team was knowledgeable and excellent. It took about a week to manufacture and powder coat paint, and about 3 additional days to install everything. The team wanted to be sure the gate operated flawlessly, which it does! I spoke to Jack at the end of the installation and felt throughout the entire process, he was available, receptive to my needs, more than fair regarding a few changes we made to the design along the way, and genuinely cared about the design and installation quality. Using on-line services like yelp for projects like this can be "hit or miss" but my experience with Jack, the fabricators/installers at SFBAG, the experience, service, and final results were excellent. I have been using the gate now for a few weeks and it's just what we needed. It looks great, blends in well with our property and neighborhood, is super easy to operate, and adds security and piece of mind. Jonathan was extremely flexible in his initial consultation. SF Bay Automated Gates does have a service charge to come out but will apply your charge directly to your work order. We originally had a Liftmaster motor for our entry gate which lasted several years. Last summer it was replaced with an Eagle motor by a "friend". That installation was a total failure. Come to find out the Eagle motor the "friend" purchased for us was actually manufactured in 2018 and not salvageable. Jonathan provided a same day quote for a completely new Liftmaster system which was installed a week later. The whole process took a couple of hours. The crew arrived on time, communicated everything, programmed the new system and even used a leaf blower when tidying up. Highly recommend this company.
