Our sliding driveway gate and adjacent pedestrian gate project looks great! Capital guys worked well for scheduling with our concrete contractor pouring the gate track and setting the posts. My only wish would be to have more input on hinges of the pedestrian gate- what was installed is going to be durable but a hinge that reduces the gap would have been preferred. I just didn't know to ask so that's on me, not on Capital. Would recommend Capital Automatic Gates and recommend using a gate specialist for your gate project- fence contractors are great for fences but not as good with gates. read more

After an unexpected morning power outage, we found that our automated gate in front would no longer open/close properly. After some frustrating attempts at fixing it ourselves led to utter failure, we poked around on Yelp to find a profession who could come help us. We reached out to multiple companies, only to find that a lot of them either never responded or bothered to follow-up past the initial reply. When Sergio called however, he was able to book us for the very next day, and showed up promptly and on-time. Not only was Sergio able to fix our gate, but when we pointed out that the previous technician who installed this now-replacement motor never hooked up the electrical running from our home switch to the motor due to lack of knowledge and experience, he was able to quickly hook that portion up too! Which now allowed us to once again use the controls inside the garage to control the gate without relying on the remote all the time. And while Sergio pointed out that he specialized on working on gates and not garage doors, he even volunteered to take a look at our garage door which was having trouble closing without holding down the close button. And in just 5-10mins, diagnosed and fixed the issue for us! We really appreciate Sergio's professionalism and extensive technical expertise, and definitely know who to turn to when we replace our gate motor with a newer model! We look forward to working with Sergio again in the future and referring him to all of our friends for their automatic gate needs as well! read more

We were gifted a gate opener a few years ago and finally got around to attempt and have it installed. To our surprise, we had a difficult time finding a company that would be willing to do the install of a gate opener that was not purchased through them. We contacted quite a few companies and finally had a breakthrough when Sergio called us back and let us know he would do the job. Communication was timely and the time it took to provide a quote was quick. Sergio was great at following up with us to schedule the start of our job and did an excellent job installing our system. Sergio and his crew were professional, on time, worked efficiently and the quality of work met our expectations. When it came time to pay our invoice, it was easy and conveniently done online. Pricing was very reasonable and I would definitely recommend Sergio and his team to those looking for their job to be done quick, efficient, and right! read more

I contacted 7~8 companies through Yelp for a front-yard metal fence with a sliding gate for driveway and a pedestrian gate with keypad. About 5~6 companies responded within 1~2 days and Capital Automatic Gates is one of them. Quick response is a key! During the onsite estimation, Sergio the owner showed a lot more knowledge than others and gave me lots of suggestions, as well as details on what needs to be done and what are the options. Obviously understanding the customer's needs and offer professional advice are more important! Then Sergio is among the first ones who quickly gave me a quote with lots of details. More importantly, he followed up quickly with a phone conversation to explain and help me to understand the quote and how it will fit my needs. Communication and care are outstanding! Now come down to the excellent construction work, attention to details, the effectiveness of the whole team and the very short time to get everything done with outstanding plans. And keeping the promise and doing extra works to make it a piece of art..... a picture is more than a thousand words....so check out these fantastic pictures! read more

Sergio and his team just finished a project at my home last week and I've never been so eager to give a 5 star review. Capital Automatic Gates is a family run business and I couldn't be happier with their service and with the end result (see pics). Sergio was quick to respond to my request for a quote and his pricing was reasonable compared to others that I received. Once the project started he was extremely responsive to our needs. He gave us a custom illustration of the gate design and he was extremely patient with my wife and I as we changed our minds several times about the specs of our gate. He was ALWAYS on time, highly communicative, and SO nice. Since the gate went up we have had new neighbors stopping by almost daily to tell us how great it looks and to ask for Sergio's contact information. Such a good feeling! If you are considering Capital for your project I highly recommend them. read more

Sergio is a life saver! My chamberlain elite swing gate was not working after some contractors coming to the house to work on renovation. I had two electrician came and both quoted me $5000+ to replace the unit, saying the motor is bad and there are no replacement available since it's an old unit. I am glad I gave Sergio a call and he was able to fix it in minute and pointed out to me that because the contractor might have pushed the gate while it was engaged, the reset mechanism was engaged to prevent damage to the motor. Once the reset button is pushed, it's now working again. I was able to save $5000 and he helped me to program the key and gave me a new one for a very reasonable amount of money. Call Sergio if you have automatic gate issues! He is professional and doesn't take advantage of customers! read more

Save your time, no need to call anyone else...just go with Sergio. Fair price, good work ethic, on time and reliable, excellent knowledge and years of experience which showed. The owner Sergio Jr. scheduled an appointment for a quote for a "swing arm automatic gate in Palo Alto"...Sergio Sr. showed up on time, was friendly, provided a quote and gave me my options, in fact he took the time to complete the repair and make sure everything was working perfectly. I couldn't be more happy with the replacement of the battery, adjustment of the open and close, the speed at which the work was done. He took the time to make sure I was satisfied with everything, he even made sure all the remotes were synced and working. The attention to detail is commendable. He also shared his knowledge which I appreciated very much, I learnt more about my gate and what to expect in the future. Overall, a very positive experience. I will be using them again for all my gate needs. Thank you read more

I retained Sergio to install an automated swing gate in our property. We had a long list of requirements: control and programming through our phones; An extra electric lock to hold it closed; program remotely a daily open/close schedule; the operator's motor had to be strong enough to move the gate against the wind; we needed a way for bicyclists and pedestrians to exit; And we wondered if the gate can look like a photo we found on the Internet... Sergio then proposed a system addressing all our requirements and he was able to create a custom gate that looked exactly the way we wanted it! He then added a first responders' access lock to allow emergency services to access our property. As it happens with large and complex systems, a few issues popped up during the installation and tune-up process Sergio took care of every single issue and made sure that everything was running as expected. He came back to check and tune-up until everything was perfect. Communications were clear. I always knew what is happening and when is the next step. He says what/when he will do next, and then he does. I found Sergio to be very responsive, reliable and fully committed to delivering a performing high-quality system. It's been a few weeks since the installation, and we are very happy with our gate. If I ever need another one - Sergio will be my go-to person. read more

Capital Automatic Gates were prompt with their response. Since they were near my neighborhood, they came by soon and gave me a quote after looking at my issue (broken chain and unresponsive sensor). They worked diligently and replaced my chain and reaffixed the sensor such that the gate would open and close even if I used the remote from a distance. Thank you! read more

There is a reason why Capital Automatic Gates has such high marked reviews.  From initial quote to completed job, Sergio and Team have been honest, competitively priced, and actually care about the quality of their work and customer satisfaction throughout the project and even after the project was completed.  These qualities are difficult to find and should be acknowledged when found.  I understand issues can surface with any project, but I always measure a business on how well they respond to issues that need to be fixed.  Sergio was always very responsive and receptive to any fixes that were needed post project completion.  For that, Sergio and the Capital Automatic Gates crew have earned my trust. read more

Sergio is a reliable, honest person. He will listen to your needs about setting up your gate. Our gate became poorly aligned with its frame and had started scraping against it. I reached out to Sergio, and after looking at a couple of photos of the issue, he sent someone from his team to scope the work needed. We quickly arrived at a work plan, got a quote, and the work began the next day. The repair itself went flawlessly, and I have a working gate again. I enjoyed working with Sergio. He is professional, honest, & knowledgeable. My gate has issues from time to time. This time, it just won't close. I found Sergio on Yelp and Sergio came on time and identified the problem quickly and fixed it without much effort. He also did some routine maintenance to keep my gate working smoothly. Sergio is amazing! After having A&M Gates come out looking at it testing, they were telling me that it might be a mother board they could not figure it out, and tell me that they are so busy that I have to wait for two weeks for them to come out again. plus not sure what that is going to cost me. Sergio on the others hand shows up on time and within 30 minutes gets the gates working perfectly read more

Sergio was quick to respond the same day to do the consult for my automatic gate which was having an issue. He got the part and returned the next day. He was detailed and made sure maintenance was done and any other issues addressed before leaving. His price was fair, and I would use him again. I like that I will get Sergio every time I hire him, not a random repair tech (who are sometimes good and other times not) which happens with larger gate companies. Also, Sergio is a nice guy and seems very trustworthy! read more

My liftmaster operator arm started making loud noises as it opened and closed. I needed immediate help for fear the gate would not open or close permanently. I called CAG and spoke with Sergio the owner. Sergio offered to come to my house the same day as his last stop. He troubleshooted and immediately knew what to do. He cleaned and checked control box and did a complete service of all moving parts. Sergio recommended other preventive maintenance without pressure for me to have it done. I will most definitely have the maintenance done at a later date. Sergio is trustworthy and professional. This is why I will call for his services again and recommend him to everyone. After our old gate motor died, Sergio was one of several companies I called to provide a quote. While not the cheapest, he was extremely thorough in reviewing the gate mechanism and hinges -- spending a good amount of time to review what needed to be fixed even if he wasn't certain he was going to get the job. Ultimately, I did choose Capital Automatic Gates and am pleased with my new Liftmaster gate operator. They also redid my gate hinges, and in record time (signed quote on Saturday, and they came out on Monday). Pleased with the work, and looking forward to an automatic gate that will outlast me at this address. Definitely recommend! read more

I had the need to install automatic gate for a house I just bought. I went to yelp and found a few vendors, including CAG. For some reason, other vendors either didn't respond or was extremely slow. And even if I was able to set up in person with some, I had to chase them for weeks to give me a quote, if any. On the other hand, Sergio at CAG responded right away. We set up an in person meeting within a week and he was very professional and on time. He provided me estimate within days. His price was in the middle compared to others. Whatever questions I had whether it's about material, scheduling, and process, he responded promptly making me feel like the #1 customer. Sergio at capital automatic gates did an amazing job installing an automatic gate and redwood fence on my property. The job was done quickly at a great price. Sergio and his staff are very responsive whenever we contact them. They are not only good at what they do, they stand behind their work. Loved that they showed up on time & in a mask. They were very professional and extremely friendly. They spent so much time figuring out what the issue was with my electric front gate. It took them a lot of time & they were methodical & patient. When they diagnosed the problem they gave me the cost of all of the parts & what the labor charge would be up front which made me feel comfortable with hiring them & knowing exactly what the cost of services would be. Another company came to assess the issue and he spend 30 minutes here & told me to replace the entire gate. I would HIGHLY recommend this company of contractors. They even dealt with the manufacturer for me since the broken part was under warranty. I can't say enough great things about them!!!! read more
