I chose S&J and within a few days, I had a date for installation of my fence (with 3 different heights) and two gates. This was all going to be done in one day (and it was a blistering hot day too!). The crew arrived on time and immediately began work on demolishing the old fence and then digging posts and construction of the new fence. It took all day, but by 5pm they were finished! The finished work was very good, they did not seem to cut any corners and really took the time to do things right. My favorite part of this transaction was speaking to Jasmine who works the front office/phone calls. She was always polite and professional, even when I needed to make changes that seemed to seemed to go back and forth. There is a reason why S&J Fence is so highly rated. He sounded sick. A lot of chest congestion and I didn't feel comfortable being around him. Next day he was in bad shape, needed quite a few rest breaks.I hired him to replace pergola and deck boards, power wash and stain. Missed some areas of the pergola with the power wash and asked about any other boards that needed replacement. He didn't act on that. Power wash on pergola was inadequate and left a lot of paint chips coming off on the deck. Anything above the estimate on the deck, The charge was a little excessive. Asked about sanding, he kept on evading the subject and just carried on with the staining. Didn't really give me a choice of stain. Says he uses brown on older decks. Not happy with the color.Noticed an additional board on the pergola that needed replacing after payment and asked if he would come back for that. Again, evading the issue. Finally told me he was not going to come back. I found his work to be inadequate at best. I'm sorry I hired him for my job and need to hire somebody else to address the issues.

Called the company and…read morethey would not fix the post but will instead put a sister post next to it to brace it for $900. I had an independent contractor replace the center Post for $500. This involved taking down the fence around the post, and removing the concrete bottom and failing post. Turned out that the culprit was termites invading from the bottom of the post and weakening it. Apparently the concrete bottom did not cover the bottom of the post.

I called Automatic Gate Pros today to repair a broken automatic gate closure. Tom was able to come just two hours after the call and fixed it in minutes. The pricing was reasonable and I am really happy to have everything in order again. He also guaranteed the work to assure me that if it continued to be a problem, he would return for free. This was in stark contrast to another outfit I hired to do this and they had no idea what to do except to replace the entire mother board! I must emphasize that diagnosing the root cause(s) for our gate failure was a non-trivial exercise and Tom's skill in identifying all the issues was exceptional in my opinion. VERY IMPRESSED WITH TOM!!! After calling Automatic Gate Pros for a programing and adjustment of my gate Tom Showed up within minutes. Under a 100 degrees heat Tom worked as a champion and managed to program and adjust the gate in about 30 minutes, giving further and clear instructions how to install the sensor in my gate when the welder finish the job. Breach of contract: Will not support the contract warranty…read more The metal gate will not latch and close because of a latch alignment problem of 1 1.2 - 2". Aiden came out on 6/17/23 to confirm it, and said he would work this into the schedule. On 7/13 the company said they would send someone on 7/14/26. When I called them and no one showed up either time they told me someone came out earlier than the time quoted me. I told them they had not. My security camera confirmed that. They then said someone would come out on Saturday, 7/18/26 from 10-noon. No one came as confirmed by my security cameras. I told them each time that I live in a high fire risk area, and if I had to evacuate and the gate malfunctioned (it would not let us out once) so I could not get out, we would be burned alive. The message we got is that that would be ok with them. Bottomline: they do not honor their warranties even if the customer is ENDANGERED.
