Hired Sturdy Fence to replace an entire side of my backyard fence that was falling apart and covered by vines and obstructed by other foliage. Sturdy Fence came out and did a great job carefully clearing the area, removing the old fence, and installing a new fence with lattice. The crew of 4-5 was on time, polite, and cleaned up after themselves. Prior to installation day, Sturdy Fence was also easy to communicate with and shared different options and considerations with us. They weren't pushy at all and answered my many questions. The person who came out to survey the fence to give a better estimate also explained everything patiently and wasn't pushy either. They gave a super fair price, so I didn't hesitate to contract with them for the job. Overall, a happy customer and would recommend for any fence jobs! read more

Mike and his team built a back yard fence with a beautiful high redwood fence with piano key trim for me in April and did a fabulous job! Sixty feet of 50 year old fence(no kidding) and covered in ivy had to be removed. The workers were wonderful worked non-stop, were very polite and left the work area very, very clean. I will hire this company again and again for other rental properties that I own. No need to look anywhere else, this team is the very, very best. read more

Had a totally positive experience working with Mike to replace 120 feet of fencing along my property. I cannot recommend him highly enoug; we need more contractors like Mike! Mike patiently answered every single one of my questions, including some very detailed emails. He listened to every request, addressed every concern, and patiently accommodated all the changes I made along the way, even when I changed my mind. He was responsive, professional, patient, and genuinely easy to work with. I would absolutely work with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable contractor. read more

Mike and his son Ken, and their hard-working team did an excellent job of replacing an old 60 foot fence with a beautiful new, high quality Redwood fence! Communication was excellent throughout. The quote was in the middle of the three I received, so very reasonable. The team did a great job of cleanup afterwards. The project was completed in less than eight hours from tearing down the old fence to installing the new one. Very pleased with this company and will definitely recommend them to anyone who has a fence project!. read more

I was happy to see that during the recent storms over the holidays, my new fence built by Sturdy Fence has been holding up very well! And it reminded me that I I never wrote a review about my great experience. I have nothing but great things to say about Sturdy Fence, from Ken's extremely prompt and competitive quote for a fence replacement, to easy and reliable scheduling and on-time execution. We used Sturdy Fence Co. to replace the fence between us and our neighbors. The process of scheduling a visit for a quote, to making an appointment for having our fence replaced was fast and easy. Mike promptly answered all of my questions and was quickly able to do our fence. Mike and his team did a great job on the fence! They were fast and efficient, and provided excellent customer service. I received a quality product, and feel good about supporting a small family owned business. read more

We contacted 3 companies to quote for our neighbor-shared fence project. The first company was outrageous - $2K more than the other 2 quotes. In the end, It was a toss between Sturdy Fence and the company we finally worked with, which had a slightly lower quote for the same materials. As retirees with a limited budget, every cent counts. Nevertheless, we want to acknowledge Ken of Sturdy Fence - he was punctual, knew his stuff, and showed us photos of their other jobs to give us an idea of what to expect. We may not work with them this time but Sturdy Fence will remain in our To Call list for future projects. We wish this family-owned business continued success. read more

Sturdy Fence did a great job for me. Mike made sure all details were clarified beforehand. On the day of the job, the crew showed up on time and knocked out the job really fast. Ken was a great field manager and kept things on track, and made sure things were done well. Mike even came back after the job was done to replace a latch that we wanted replaced to make sure we were totally satisfied. read more

The wooden gate in the yard wouldn't close. They responded quickly, came for an on-site evaluation, and provided a reasonable quote. The repair was fast, and communication was smooth. Recommended. read more

My old fence blew over in the last wind storm. Mike was able to come and give a quote fairly quickly, and offered to replace or repair the fence -- whatever I wanted. I decided to replace, and am very glad I did. He and 1 or 2 helpers put in a very sturdy and beautiful 62-ft redwood fence and gate in just under 5 hours of work! I like that Mike did much of the work himself (instead of sending a team of people you never met before). He also was able to reinforce a different fence that I share with a neighbor who is not friendly toward us. So now I have some very sturdy and attractive posts that ensure the other fence won't fall on my side of the property. Mike is very easy to talk to and friendly. He's a little old-fashioned with the written quote sent via snail mail (not email), but I kind of liked that about him. He's been in this business for a long time. read more

Fast service for converting a fence to a gate. Got the job done and worked around my schedule. Reasonable price.

Mike replaced the old wood swing gate which was falling part, with a new wood swing gate. The new gate is screwed together, not nailed together like the old gate, so it is sturdier and will last longer. Mike was responsive with making a quote, and performing the work. Definitely, I would use Mike again for fence / gate work. read more

Our side fence fell down in one of the recent storms. Sturdy fence came right out to give us an estimate. They suggested 2x8 posts to make the fence better. (Which the rest of our fence isn't!) When we were ready to go ahead with the job, they were able to do the fence on a Saturday! They didn't want us to wait and go into the next month! We were out of town and the office called us with updates. The fence is great! Sturdy fence knows what they are doing! They aren't the most affordable but definitely one of the best! I guess you get what you pay for! read more

Sturdy Fence was great to work with. They responded promptly to my request for a quote. They were here when they said they would be, both for the estimate and to complete the work. this review is long overdue. we hired Mike to install a new backyard gate a couple of months ago. He came when he was supposed to, installed it while I was away, and did a superb job. The wood looked really good and the gate hinges swung perfectly; he had to work with a 70-yr-old fence frame, too. All at a reasonable cost. I heartily recommend him for any fencing project. I contacted Mike to get a quote on replacing a stretch of redwood fencing taken out by a drunk woman in our neighborhood. Not a very big project, but he came out the next day and gave me a quick estimate....I confirmed it with him the next day and he was there early in the morning and built it in one day....It looks great and matches exactly with the wood and style of the original strip of fence....Very satisfied and would recommend highly........Charlene Gayle Granse read more

Mike and crew recently completed a repair of our side fence with our neighbor. The sections they replaced were seamless to the rest. Their workmanship is top notch and the job was completed quickly. They also did a great job on two other sides of my property previously. That was why I considered no one else but them for this job, even though my neighbor went to get other quotes. One should be able to infer that when my neighbor and I can agree to use Sturdy Fence, their pricing has to be fair and reasonable. When the owner and his son still work along side with their crew (they used to complete the jobs only by themselves), you know it will be done right. read more

Mike is a good old fashioned straight shooter guy. He didn't try to sell me for more than I wanted, and gave practical advice for saving/reusing fence materials that were in good condition. Installation was super fast! I wasn't home while it happened, but the yard area was left in very clean condition and fencing work looked great. Mike himself followed up with a phone call that afternoon to gauge satisfaction and came by personally the next day to pick up payment. I would absolutely recommend Sturdy Fence for your fencing needs. read more

Our fence was leaning after a storm. 3-4 posts needed replacement. Mike gave a quick estimate, the quote was reasonable, and he looked genuine. That's why I chose Sturdy fence over others. Mike was responsive, friendly, and fairly priced. I reached out to a few folks for a small AC unit fence I needed. Mike was quick to respond (left an estimate at my door while I was at work) answered all of my follow ups, and squeezed my job in between some others as I had a permit deadline. His price was good compared to the estimates I got, and the final product was exactly what I wanted. Just an overall pleasant experience. I called Mike to get an estimate for a small job replacing five rotted fence posts and a 2x4 bottom board on a fence shared with a neighbor. Mike came out within a day or two and gave us a reasonable estimate. It took a while for us to work through other estimates and after all that was done, we settled on having Mike come out due to his great reviews and how he answered all our questions. Once we let him know we would like his help on getting our fence fixed, Mike kept us updated on when he would be able to come out. He and his coworker arrived when expected, were very efficient and did a great job replacing the fence posts. The area where they worked was left very clean. We highly recommend Mike for any fence work you might need done as he was very easy to work with and does the work well. read more

Mike and crew work very fast and does an exceptional job. Pricing is very fair, reasonable and respectful of time and costs. This is during Covid-19, when we are all home, staring at our homes and the work that needs to get done. The time is now and Mike is fairly busy but will fit you in. You are not waiting long for a call back or to get the work done. He arrives wearing a mask and has no need to be supervised. The work is excellent.
