This is THE Ralphs.. It was great before but even better now. The deli, cheese counter, and wine selection is well above average borderline amazing!! There's a Starbucks also. The staff is unusually helpful partly because they just remodeled. I used to have to hit 3 different stores to get the quality that I now get from this gem of a Ralphs. The funny thing is My Husband and I were in a different part of town & I made a comment about what an awesome chain Ralphs was.. His response was 'yeah because you go to the best Ralphs in town' meaning other Ralphs might not compare.. Hmmm - not interested since I live 1 mile from this awesome One!! Even the guys who collect the carts are Awesome.. Super Great and I only have to stop at Whole foods once a month now.. This review is for the bakery department, in particular, Sylvia! I wanted a 1/2 sheet of their famous tuxedo cake decorated for my daughter's birthday, and she took such good care of me to make sure that the cake turned out great for the big day. What excellent customer service!! Sylvia needs a promotion or at the very least, a raise. Will definitely keep coming back and will highly recommend. read more

I love their cheese selection from Murray's! They don't carry quite as much as the whole foods market that is down the street, but they do come close. They also have great customer service in that section as well! read more

So I've been a customer to this Ralph's in Manhattan Beach for the last 8 years. I realize the somewhat stressful Thanksgiving food shopping rush is in full swing this week, but I witnessed some pretty poor customer service yesterday, which I haven't seen in quite awhile, as most establishments have been very focused towards improving customer service due to competition and more choices for consumers. A lady yesterday could not find a certain item in the aisle, so I overheard her asking the nearest Ralph employee (who was standing near the florist area) where she could find it. Rather than walking up to her and/or showing her where the item was, he was shouting directions to her from where he was standing. When the women still could not find the item, he yelled at her and said "some people are so blind", then huffed, openly showed he was perturbed and then reluctantly walked into the aisle. Without any words, he pointed at the item then stormed off. All us customers who witnessed this couldn't help but comment and shake our heads. People who don't have the capacity to be professional and supportive have no business being in any customer service related profession or role. Shame on this employee for his behavior. He needs to go back to remedial courses on manners and class. I trust this type of behavior towards customers will eventually be noticed by Ralph's management and resolved accordingly. read more

This is a beautiful Ralph's.. But I have to write about their AMAZING Sushi counter!!! I'm loving the Dragon Roll at the moment, but also love the California roll, spicy tuna, chefs sampler...Everything I've gotten here has been wonderful. For the reasonable price, you can't beat it! Will avoid this store especially the deli. They have a self check line to further squeeze money out of you. Supposedly the high prices were justified by good service and checkout help...now they want you to pay high prices and pack it up for yourself. I prefer to Go to Fresh N Easy on Rosecrans. read more

Really like the grocery store, it is clean and everyone is friendly. However, the meat department is horrible, there is never anyone behind the counter, you generally wait 5-10 minutes before someone realizes you are there to get service. read more

I'm giving MB Ralph's 5 stars mainly because the night crew is THE BEST!!!! Otherwise it'd get 4 'cause it can be a bit pricey at times. However, it always has great specials (ribs for half price every so often!), a very good liquor selection (if you check in often, you'll find some **outrageous** short-term sales!), sushi, a delicious deli, and it's always clean, well lit, etc. Now, yeah, the night re-stock people can be a pain in the rear, but the manager and clerks make up for it. They are waaaaaaaaaay cool! That's why I only go at night. The day people are alright, but the night crew: God bless 'em!! They're always pleasant, ready to joke and talk a bit, and they make the experience VERY pleasant. Couldn't be better! read more

I've been shopping here for 12 years and it's normally fine-- what do you really expect from a regular grocery store. But in the last two weeks, the meat department has rapidly declined. It's like they no longer cater to people who actually cook-- there is only boneless chicken breast, nothing on the bone, maybe two lonely whole chickens. They've made strides here, especially with the updated cheese section and the sleek produce section. The check out process has also gotten faster, and I love the clerks I see on a regular basis. They're all so friendly, and it's nice to see familiar faces in my local grocery store. read more

If you are looking for Organic Produce, look elsewhere. It's typically a 50/50 chance on whether or not they have organic berries. Today they had one package of awful looking strawberries. So sad. read more

This Ralphs location is much nicer than most Ralphs I've been to before mainly due to the fact that its in an upscale white neighborhood, so that is a given, but if you ever visit the Deli section you may find the customer service is as bad as it gets. I have gone there a few times during lunch and different people have helped me and so far none of them have been nice to say the least they are just plain rude. They make you feel as if they don't want to work, and they are doing you a favor by seving you. Body language says alot. And if thats not bad enough, they charged me $8.00 for four tiny dried out chicken drum sticks. I could have gone to Pollo Loco and got a whole chicken for that price. The potato salad is all Mayo with a few potato pieces in it, $5.00 for half a pound? Tried their sandwiches too! All bread, little meat for $8.00. Even Subway has better prices, more options and better service. Wont be going back ever again. read more
