I would go at least 3.5 stars for this Ralphs. I haven't been to this one that much so I'm not sure if it consistently good. This Ralphs is a fresh fare so there are better quality ingredients here than your run-of-the-mill Ralphs. They had a pretty impressive produce section. There was also a nice cheese station and a large selection of wines. I didn't visit their seafood section, but they had a good selection of Choice quality steaks. In terms of the checkout, they do have self checkout here, which was very quick. It seems even express lanes have long lines these days so this self checkout (with working stations) was a pleasant sight. The parking lot was pretty easy to find a space as well as to get in and out of. I have a pretty good Ralphs next to me in Marina Del Rey so I'm not sure if I would return very often to this one. But if I was in the area and needed some groceries, this Ralphs would be a good option. read more

I have also found items here that the one in El Segundo doesn't have. It does get busy on Monday's though with all the elderly ladies and coeds buying their weekly food. This is the grocery store i stop at most often on my way home from work, and as you might have guessed from the fact that its a chain grocery store, they sell groceries. I mean really, what did you expect? This Ralphs is special, and thats why im writing this review. You see, this Ralphs is known as the 'Ghouly Market' by my ex, and i think its a very appropriate designation. This place is packed with 65 year old women desperately fighting the tides of time with surgery. Half of these women could cut diamonds with their cheek lines, and the other half look like cat-women. Who, exactly, thinks this is attractive? It sure aint their husbands, ill tell ya that. Other than that, this grocery store tends to be overly busy. This area is light on mega-marts, so this one gets used and abused. Lines are normally pretty long, and parking lot pretty packed. However, to compete with whole foods a few blocks away, they have a kickass prepared foods area, a big wine stock, and a good array of organic stuffs. Ralphs! This location I like. I live about 40 min away, but work 2 min away and I ALWAYS stop by before heading on the 105. Great wine selection, salad bar, meat and seafood market, great bakery. I DO have to agree with Jennifer though, the items and aisles are kind of all over the place. I end up circling around 4 or 5 times. Checkers are nice and so are the box boys. Parking lot is massive. Only complaint - again, zombie/rude shoppers. It seems like people in that area of the Southbay, forget to say simple words like "excuse me" or "oooops, I seemed to have run over your pinky toe with my care cuz I was too busy texting". Huge disappointment. I ordered a ton of food online for my companys annual bbq event along with 12 pies. The pies delivered had an expiration date of 8/26 and 8/27. I recieved the pies on 8/22 for our event on 8/23. When I took them out to serve our employees half of the pies were covered with mold. This was so embarassing. I ordered 2 fruit platters as well and they did not include the yogurt dipping that was advertised on the website. Me and my co-workers shop here regularly. NEVER AGAIN. By the way the website to order from is not user friendly. You have to order from a completely different site when placing an order from the deli. I did not even get a receipt when my food was delivered. They dumped it in the lobby of my office and left. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND. read more

Lost one of our phones here and we did not receive any help from the manager. She was busy, but also didn't ask any of her staff to help us until the second time we went to the store to ask for help. Very disappointed in the customer service we received, especially after so many reviews here touting the good service other people received there before. The people who work there and shop there are NOT social distancing. It's a zoo. I went in because the Ralph's where I usually get my pick-up order was out of fried chicken and this one dosen't do pick up orders. I called there before I went in to ask if they had fried chicken breasts. The man I spoke with said yes, so I ventured in and waited in line. There is always a line. Finally, it was my turn and I told the man behind the counter 3 times that I wanted 4 chicken breasts. I was wearing a mask, but I am known for speaking distinctly in English. Dinner time came later in the day and I opened the bag the chicken was in only to find 4 chicken thighs. I'm not fond of dark meat, but that's what I'll be eating this week. :-( read more

The reason I withhold fifth star is they are routinely out of stock on key items. When an item is on ad, in high demand, have the foresight to increase your order. Otherwise a mostly pleasant experience. Friendly checkers. Aisles could be wider and it is not helpful when a product special display is set up blocking an aisle. I I have a fundraiser every year and raise money to buy gift cards for a homeless shelter in the Santa Monica area. I usually go to in speak with a manager at Ralph's first so I can set up to get the gift cards. There's so many of them I do not want to hold up people in line and they usually accommodate me. Today when I spoke to the manager Jeff Kent, he was very unhelpful and could not schedule a specific time for me to get the gift cards. Talk about poor customer service! I'm just trying to get gift cards to help out a homeless shelter. I told Jeff because of his lack of help, that I would be going to another Ralph's. I ended up going to the Ralph's on Sepulveda Bl. In Westchester. Their Manager Angie was able to help me purchase the gifts cards. She was very helpful and professional. read more

The only Ralph's I like going to is this one in the Manhattan Village. The only downside is the fact that it is in the Manhattan Village so parking can be difficult to find since they share it with all the other stores around. This Ralph's is close by to my work so I usually make pit stops here for snacks or groceries before going home. The bakery section is nice, I always get greeted and asked if I need any help. Probably my favorite thing about this Ralph's has got to be the fruit area near the cheeses and deli. They have prepackaged fruits like grapes, jicama, strawberries and kiwis, strawberries and blue berries, melon and other kind of fruit ready to eat with plastic forks too! The fruit always tastes SO FRESH and delicious! Prices are low here too, plus they have a self checkout area for people like me who are always in a rush. I have been shopping at Ralphs in Manhattan Beach for years. The staff is friendly, very helpful. The staff should get a five star. unfortunately, corporate should get a zero star. They understaff. I don't know if they are trying to save money. I am only giving two stars because lately when I go shopping all of the cashiers are gone, self-check is only open. The attendant is always very friendly and very helpful. However, when I go to Ralphs I want to have customer service that Ralphs once spoiled me with. I do not like self-check, I want a human to help me. This morning when I went to Ralphs I had to ask if there was a cashier available. Someone was called. I felt like I was begging for help. This ralphs has awful customer service! I just wasted my entire lunch trying to get a sandwich from the deli. After waiting 10 minutes in line,finally gey up to pay and the credit card machine is not working. I then get told "you have to go to front" well I don't want to go to "front" the lines are ridiculously long with grocery shoppers. I'm only getting lunch that's why I'm at the deli counter. Been loyal for 8 years, since I moved to CA. I am officially boycotting Ralphs due to crucial local and corporate changes...the wine and beer pricing is confusing and misleading. The customer service all went to speedy check out but I can't find a person anywhere else to help with anything, Deli service is unbelievably bad, have witnessed numerous people leave after waiting forever, wrong order, poor service and I have spent way too much time in this line. Seem to always be out of some essential ingredient, very often it is the fresh basil, oregano or cilantro...more times than not, they are out...horribly frustrating, started to go to El Segundo, and now they are just as bad but have the added frustration of panhandlers in the parking lot. Now that my cold is gone, I can give an honest review. I frequent this location since it's conveniently close. I placed an order for two dozen cupcakes with with a flat black and white checker design (think checkered flag in Cars 2 movie and theme of my baby's birthday party) on a non-busy Monday morning. They're scheduled to be picked up at 10:00am on Sunday morning. This gives them six days to look over my order and make them. Easy and simple design yes? Apparently not. I get a call at 9:00am Sunday morning from Lee, the baker. So the convo went something like this. Lee: Hi Angie. I can't fill your order because it's too time consuming to make the checkered design. Besides, I don't know if you'll like the kids to have black frosting in their mouths. Me: WTH?!?! You had 6 days to look over and fill my order! It's not my problem that its time consuming. I'm not concerned about the kids' mouths being black. Lee: Well I can try to make another design for you. (She goes on to describe her design which basically consisted of just plopping a flat, round Cars coin on top of the frosting. Any high school cooking class you'd be so proud of this type of design. Me: No thanks! I then called to talk to Jerusha, the Manager. She was very sympathetic and understanding and offered the cupcakes free of charge. I declined because 1) it wouldn't match the theme of the party 2) they would look so "cheap" and "a high school student" made it and 3) the principle of good customer service. So I went on with the party without the cupcakes and they added on to the stress of having the plan a huge party and the party ended with me catching a stress-induced cold. Thank you Lee. I like this store and it is better than most grocery stores in the area in terms of price, selection, and polite staff. My only complaint is the tightness of the aisles! You must shop here at non-peak times, otherwise it is impossible to get through the aisles. read more

I don't normally give reviews on grocery store but this one deserves 5 stars. I went there last week looking for Starbucks after a site visit. This is probably the only in-store Starbucks that has the sitting area. Like all Starbucks, the store has wifi. I ended up staying there several hours to take care of some urgent business matters on the computer. I ate breakfast and lunch there as well as did some shopping. I do not enjoy doing my grocery shopping here. For one thing, they lay-out and organization makes no sense! I find myself spending a lot of time searching for items on my list and often times having to ask for help. The aisle signs are mis-leading and don't always list the items that are within the aisle. This was the very first Ralph's Marketplace I'd ever been to and I could've sworn that I was in grocery store heaven when I came here. They seemingly have every kind of food bar that there is to have. The produce selection use huge with lots of choices, including the organic option of almost everything in produce. This store seems so big with endless selection and it feels like its the store for the stars. Ralph's has been my go to recently, after being let down time and time again by my local vons. They have fair prices, and always have great sales going on. (Buy $x save $x). Produce quality is great, meats (great deals) and deli( amazing quality) great! Only thing I wish had better sales is the alcohol/ beer. But that is not enough to keep me away, I don't mind making a second stop at the drug store to save a few extra dollars. I go out of my way to shop at Ralph's just for the quality. read more
