Smug smarmy sarcastic insulting lying incompetent jerks. The selection is fine and their buyers do a great job keeping stock on hand but the "Customer Service" from the rude jerks in the dress shirts up top is something special. The first time they were a bottle short of a six-back of my favorite beer, i saw a stack of cases from the top of the shelf to ceiling so i asked a nearby clerk to get me one. All fine. next time I went straight to the "Customer Service Counter. Showed the guy the empty box. He clicked a bit on the computer and said "We don't carry that" ... I got my way and a nice clerk got me my next one. Today I looked for a stock clerk and found none so I was forced to resort to those jerks up front. The first one fobbed me off to the next one, that one started clicking on his computer when I told him there's a stack of boxes along the wall, he called a stock clerk on his headset and as I walked away he said "Thank you Ma'am" in that smug sarcastic tone I have come to expect from these jerks. I'm a 63 year old man with a gray beard that fully covers my neck. The was just being ... well a Total ... well some of you may recognize the kind. When I found the stock-boy he dug through the stack and pulled a case out and put it in my cart. I got to the register and the cashier had to pull one out for pricing and I saw it was the wrong beer -- this brewery uses the same case boxes but prints the name in a big white rectangle in 4 inch high letters. I went back with the cashier and she asked him to pull one down. He disappeared for a while so I just put the case of wrong beer on the floor and grabbed the last 3 six packs off the shelf just as the stock boy re-appeared, still without a ladder to get my case, so I said forget it you can stock the shelf I'm out of here. Way better than BevMo!! Cheaper prices and bigger selections. Tons of wines everywhere and wine tasting in the afternoon on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays for only $.10 a person!! Last time I went wine tasting I paid $10 for five wines. Me and my girlfriend go around 2pm and they usually have it goin on so we try all five and walk around and check their beer and wines out. I go here almost every week because I find joy strolling up and down the aisles looking at the amazing assortment. They also have cool little cork cages and things to do with your corks in the store to buy!Pretty fun!! I personally like beer the most and they have a 6 pack of Landsharks (if you don't know what those are and you like smooth, full tasting, lagers you need to hit up Total Wine pronto) for $4.99. Quite an amazing selection of beers and wine from all over the world at great prices. Friendly and knowledgeable assistance at all times. I was amazed when I first visited the store. They provided a substantial soft cover book, not just a advertisement. Wine and beer tastings with the staff are scheduled nearly every weekend. A nice room is available for more extensive classes and tastings. I have to admit I am not as experienced in wines as most of you, but my friends who are quite interested in wine, rave about the quality of their selections. Good prices. Gigantosaurous size selections especially if you want something for every budget. They have unusual beers at good prices- still not cheap. My goal is to try all of them with my friends, just not all in the same night. Don't miss the 10 cent wine tasting Fri, Sat, Sun. Many of my friends here on yelp asked if I could recommend a California red wine that is good, easy to enjoy by everyone and very fairly priced to be an everyday wine (I don't drink everyday) rather than a wine reserved for special occasions. I had the opportunity to try a red that fits. Alterra Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa is a very nice choice displaying Cab character and depth in a very approachable style. Priced around $10.00. This place makes you forget all about Bevmo. Wow, they have the formula down. The store is immense and the variety is stunning. You definitely need to come here even if you are just browsing. I can't help but think "it looks just like my wine cellar at home".. haha. Seriously, I would say you have to check this place out even if just for the experience. It's total wine and more. Solid Total Wine, they have a great selection and a great lay out. They're open late too and they get a lot of the beers I like, like the Cigar City stuff from Florida and the Flying Dog stuff. Good selection of whiskey and tequilla. Sometimes I hear the employees giving advice to people and I feel like some of them are just guessing or making it up but I also hear others talking and the know what they're talking about. Great selection of wines, beer, and alcohol. Think Bevmo but competition. Certain items, their prices are better and some its not. So compare first before you shop. I was finally able to find bottles of Dalmore 18 years after months of searching all around. Even at Bevmo, they only had up to 15 years. So I'm a happy camper! read more
