Box Combo reorganized so you can see the chicken fingers better
Jason P.

Raising Canes specializes in fried Chicken Fingers and also serves chicken sandwiches, crinkle cut fries, coleslaw, and Texas Toast. It's funny how your prior experiences affect your perception of present experiences. I view my first visit on Day 2 of the Wethersfield Raising Canes's as a much better experience than my visit to the first CT Raising Cane's in Enfield. There, I waited about 30 minutes from the time I got in the drive thru line, until the time I got my food, and this was months after they first opened. By comparison, this trip to the Wethersfield RC at 11:15 on a Wednesday was a joy. The line was shorter. They managed the line well. Workers were outside by the Drive Thru menus. You paid there as you ordered. When it was my turn at the Drive Thru Window, I waited a couple minutes, got my food, and was on my way. It was maybe 10 minutes from line to food. I applaud RC on their planning and organization and this definitely improved my experience. The food was mixed, but mostly pretty good. I ordered the Box Combo. I remembered the chicken fingers as being being bigger, but maybe I'm not recalling that correctly. They are definitely smaller than the average chicken tenders you get at the best CT Hot Chicken places. The quality of the chicken itself was good. The batter was mixed. In some cases, there was enough batter and it was as a crispy as I wanted. In other cases, there was less batter or it wasn't as crispy as I liked. The crinkle fries were similarly mixed. But they were well salted. The Texas Toast is kind of basic (toasted and buttered sesame roll) but I strangely like it. The coleslaw is above average. I prefer other similarly priced chicken experiences within the general area. So I'm not likely to be a regular customer. They're worth trying though. I know some people are fans. 3.25 Stars

This was my first time EVER going to Raising Canes, and I'm so glad I could be one of the few people to try it before they opened up in their new location in Wethersfield! First off I must say the staff was incredible and the service was great ! Everyone was so happy to be there and greeting everyone with a smile and so helpful ! I must say the parking is limited at this location, however there is plenty of parking at the adjacent buildings ( so no need to worry ) ! I ordered the chicken sandwich combo ! The chicken was phenomenal I loved it ! Definitely worth going to for the chicken. I loved that it was thick chicken tenders and lightly battered ( how I like it ) The fries on the other hand need some serious work . The only saving grace for the fries is the sauce ! You gotta get the special sauce it's delicious!

I enjoyed my first trip to Raising Cane's. I stopped in midafternoon, a little surprised to see them so busy, but the wait wasn't bad. I got the box combo and thought the chicken strips were juicy with a great crunch. You get a decent amount of food which includes fries, cole slaw, Texas toast, and a drink. The atmosphere was relaxed and I liked that they were constantly wiping down the tables and seats. I'll be back!

Combo 4 chicken fingers

First time having Raising Cane's today. I enjoyed the Combo: 4 chicken fingers, fries and cold slaw with a half sweet tea/ half Unsweetened tea. No issues. I ordered ahead on the mobile app. Pick up could have better signage, the staff at counter walked me over to where to find my bag with my order inside. I will be back to try the sandwich.

I've been wanting to try Raising Cane's ever since the Enfield location opened. I'm happy to have one very close to me now! I refused to come the first week of opening due to expected long lines. I'm very happy I waited - I came on a Saturday afternoon and walked inside to no line...the drive-thru was also not busy. I ordered the Combo Box and waited maybe 5 minutes for my order. My food was good - the chicken was flaky crispy and I liked the sauce. The fries didn't impress me, but I just don't really care for crinkle-cut fries in general. The Texas toast was okay - not that flavorful. Overall, I will be back when I'm craving fried chicken again!

The welcome tent on opening day

We weren't going to fall into the hype of going here on opening day, but traffic was light and the drive thru line wasn't very long, so we figured why not. We ended up ordering online and weren't sure how to enter the building to pick it up but pulled into the drive thru since that's typically how it's done. A worker approached and told us we had to go inside and to park anywhere we wanted, so my wife turned around and parked while I ran in to get the food. Inside was crazy busy with workers, but there was hardly anyone inside eating... maybe it wasn't allowed on opening day? Overall, though, it looked clean and would be nice a nice place to sit and eat when it's not so busy. Service was super fast and our order was ready within 5 minutes of ordering hitting submit on the order. We got home and checked our food and everything was correct... until I drank my "unsweetened" iced tea. It was clearly sweetened, but I still drank it. The food was fresh, and my wife enjoyed it, but I felt it was too greasy, and the chicken lacked flavor. The fries were good, and the Texas toast was awesome. This evening my son said he wanted to try it, even though he's had it before at other locations, so my wife stopped by while out and about. This time the service was slow and confusing. She decided to go through the drive thru so she wouldn't have to get out and said the line was quite long. Someone came up to the car and took her order, and she paid right there and just had to wait to get her food. Workers actually brought the food out to the cars way before drivers got to the pick up window, but it didn't make a difference because once you were in line, you were locked in with no where to go, and the wait was quite long to get out. Once home, she checked the order (should have checked it at the restaurant), and they forgot to include the Cane's sauce, which is kind of the point. I mean, otherwise, you're just eating plain ole chicken. Thankfully we had some sauce from another chicken restaurant, and my son used that. So, unfortunately, our experience wasn't very good. Two orders and two mistakes. Hopefully it's just growing pains and things will get better soon, but they say you only have one chance to make a first impression, and ours wasn't the best.

First time ever hearing about Dave's Hot Chicken. We happened to be in the area and someone in our…read moregroup raved about it. Got the #2. Comes with 2 chicken sandwiches and fries. Chicken was huge and super crispy. Fries are crinkle cut dusted with seasoning. Found that the fry amount was a bit smaller in portion size compared to the chicken. I mean maybe it's the actually serving size but let's be real. Fries are also a main course. So we ordered a large box of fries. The three of us (who didn't eat the #2 meal) killed the fries quickly. Mixed 2 packets of the Dave's sauce (it's like equivalent to 5 ketchup packets) with 2 ketchup packets . Mmm perfect. Saw a lot of Muslim patrons here. I was curious and looked it up. The chicken at Dave's is halal. KFC and chic fil a aren't. Looking at you KFC and chic fil a. More patrons would come to eat at your establishments if you served halal foods. Clearly from my ONE time eating at Dave's I could see that Muslim people like fried chicken too. DUH! Good job Dave's. I mean it didn't affect me in any way but it made me feel good that Dave's did something right. Will definitely be coming to Dave's Hot Chicken again!

I was in Rocky Hill to have the charging port on my phone replaced (separate review) and decided to eat while i waited. I had to come back for the restaurant photos after my phone was fixed. Juan was my very friendly and helpful server, and also my cook. The burger was good-sized, juicy, and delicious! Instead of french fries, I took a 'walk on the wild side' and tried the tater tots. They were really good! If you have never been to Wayback, here is my personal observation: The burgers are comparable to Five Guys. The difference: Five Guys gives you double fries and charges $8+ more. An option: Eat at Wayback and use some of the savings to upgrade your meal with one of their amazing hand-dipped milkshakes. You will thank me later!

And if you want to try a sandwich that explodes with flavors you've gotta follow me on this. I ordered the Italian sub, Mike's Way, with spices and wet Now here's where it gets really interesting and the explosion happens On top of the sandwich construction, I asked for jalapeño peppers and banana peppers, finished off with pickles And the plain piece of bread that's gonna be the top piece, I added mayonnaise and the spicy relish Once these flavors mesh together, this is possibly the best combo there is at any grinder shop in the world in my humble opinion The explosion of flavors and crunch is simply amazing. Done this way it is possibly the greatest tasting grinder ever constructed. The heat, the banana peppers, the hot relish, oil/vinegar wetness, Italian spices freshness to the bread, flavor in the meats and cheese, with a pickle on top, oh my! Thank you jersey Mike's Rocky Hill, you made this guest feel like a king. The sandwich was constructed with love and attention, adding that smile and Good nature twist from the employee. Is this location my favorite? , you bet it is ! I was so excited about ordering the sandwich, I forgot to check in. And then while consuming this sandwich, I got totally distracted and forgot to take pictures of my experience. This is how good these sandwiches are.
