I used to come here many years ago, but then discovered Goody's Donuts. Unfortunately in the past few years Goody's donuts' quality has gone down. I searched online on yelp for another donut place in Cerritos. Rainbow donuts came up and the reviews were good. I decided to try again. Am so glad I did! I got a bear claw, tiger tail, glazed doughnut and a buttermilk bar. The classic, glazed doughnut was delicious! It was light, fluffy and delicious! The buttermilk bar was very good as well. I have been coming to this donut deli for a few years now. They seem to be the only one that serves french crullers. The shop is located in a small plaza next to a florist and some other small shops. Even though there aren't a lot of parking slots, I always seem to get front row parking which makes the experience even better. The shop is kept clean and tidy. They also sell Lottos here so you will see their "winner wall" on the left hand side next to the drink fridges. The lady owner is always smiley and nice when I visit. The male owner is not a smiler but still provides good service. They have a large variety of donuts and again, they are the only local place I know of that still serves crullers. Keep in mind, the cruller supply is limited as the lady shop owner told me the special flour mix is quite expensive and does not hold a wide profit margin. Hence, not very many donut delis carry the product. The owner continued to say, they have many customers that keep coming back for those so they keep it (one of the customers is my husband). Even though they are a small shop, they are always keeping up with the times on specialty flavors (such as the blueberry). Items I have tried: Ham n cheese croissant: The croissant is nicely baked, the ham and cheese is a small strip but is delicious when rolled up. They offer to heat it up when ordered. Jalapeno ham n cheese croissant: May favorite. I think this is the only place that offers it. Same ingredients as the regular with the exception of jalapeno. It is melt in your mouth cheesy goodness. Donut holes: Never tastes only but nothing beyond average. Both owners often throw in a donut hole or two when I order a few donuts. Jelly filled glazed donuts: Nicely made, jelly filled and delicious. Strawberry french cruller: The outside is nice and fried and the inside is soft and chewy. The flavor is definitely different from regular plain donuts so never settle for less if any other shop tells you it's the same thing. Blueberry donuts: Nicely glazed and filled with blueberries. Very authentic. Bear paw: This is huge! This is my favorite donut shop. Again, they are mostly old fashioned but they do try and keep up with the times to satisfy the new generation. I came into this donut store on the day where you get a free matcha green tea donut when you check into Yelp. I was soo excited to come a grab my free donut that I kept asking my family and best friends if they wanted to come with me Lol, sadly no one wanted to come with me. I got a regular glazed matcha donut and noticed that they have a large variety of other donut flavors/food offerings. It was a hot day, so some of the glaze melted on to the bag while I was driving home. The donut was super fresh, soft, and not too sweet--everything I want my glazed donuts to taste like. So I love apple fritters, my all time favorite. They make some of the best apple fritters I've had. I love the crispy edges with the soft middles. So when I had a special event I requested a special order of a couple XL fritters. They obliged with with two monster fritters (4XL) that were absolutely perfect (See posted photo). The only substances I am currently high on are sugar, dough and blueberries. I came down here on a recommendation of another Yelper while contemplating a late night run to M+M Donuts in Anaheim. Well, not really wanting to wait 2 hours in line, I checked out this small Cerritos location. They are within 2 miles from home, and I hear there are no obscene waits to be had. Plus, they are 24 hours! If I had a craving for donuts during normal business hours (why would that happen?) then I actually can GO. I rolled in here just before 3AM and ordered a dozen of blueberry donuts and asked about the tiger tails. I was informed that they were currently out of tiger tails. D'oh! As a consolation, the man at the counter threw in an extra blueberry donut. SCORE! I get home, taking care to dodge the surprising number of skaters, fellow motorists and neighbor kids making out in the condo complex along the way and open the box of donuts. I notice they look shockingly similar to the ones from M+M. They however aren't hot and fresh as the ones from M+M. I suppose that would just be chance. The Rainbow Blueberries however are still crispy on the outside and soft and cake-y in the middle. They taste great and slightly glazier than the M+M ones (from what I remember anyway). I really, really enjoyed these ones and I am GLAD that YELP was able to help me find a local place that is ABSOLUTELY comparable to M+M every way and superior in terms of wait time.
