Wow, I posted my earlier review too soon. Came back today for the second of what I hoped would be many visits and, completely different experience... First off, I could tell staff was distracted. It was obvious one person working there was still eating; I have to wonder why he bothered wearing gloves, when said gloves likely were touching his mouth moments earlier. Then, the ham & cheese croissant I purchased was rather basic. You could tell the croissant itself was store-bought, rather than made there. Wasn't toasted at all, and the cheese wasn't melted. (I was likely impressed last week due to other factors of my experience.) Finally, and I didn't know this last week, they tack on a surcharge for credit card use - a big negative in my book. Was traveling through the area in the early morning and had promised my son some doughnuts. None are good in my area, so thought I would try this place. Definitely a simple mom/pop shop. Looking at the doughnuts I was a little worried as they were not the best looking doughnuts, but thought I would try them nonetheless. Well what they lacked perfect appearance they made up for it in taste. The bread was delicious and slightly crisp but with a nice slight chew to it without somehow losing its fluffiness to it! The maple icing one the maple bar was great. It wasn't too maple(yes totally a thing). The glaze on the glaze doughnuts were layered thin with just enough sweetness to them. And of course the chocolate was perfect for any chocolate lover! The product was great and the service also was just as high. They didn't treat us just like a random customer. He spoke to us and wished my daughter the best on her dance adventures! I appreciated that. I am sure if you are a regular there he knows you and your family. I came here on a whim because I was next-door at the coffee shop and they were out of pastries. And I had swore I had heard talk of Goody's before. I was going to order a Boston cream but decided to ask the staff what was popular or recommended here. To my luck, she had said that a tiger tail tray had just come out of the oven so I decided to go with that. Boy, was I lucky that I listened to her! That tiger tail was warm, fluffy on the inside, just a tiny crisp of sugar on the outside, and it was the best donut I have ever had, melting in my mouth. The place was a pretty decent size and the selection I thought was pretty good as well. The staff is super friendly and smiled throughout the transaction. The place was also very clean and I can't really find anything bad to say about this place. Check it out! read more

Whenever I visit my parents in Cerritos, I always try to make a trip to Goody's Donuts. They have the best tasting and freshest donuts in the area. I remember going here over 15 years ago during high school and undergrad when I used to pull late night study sessions, and they'd be open by 3am. I'd go and get a little pick me up of donuts and coffee. It's still the same family working there and their quality has stayed consistent all these years. They have some of the best service and have regulars that have been going there for decades. I'd be a regular as well if I was still in the area. Goody's Donuts is a family owned and operated business that's been there for decades. Both husband and wife were working the morning I came in, with some Long John's coming out of the fryer. I was interested in trying both the Thai Tea custard filled donuts and a Tiger Tail without glaze, but they were not available that day. Instead I got an Old Fashioned without glaze, and they threw in a twist without glaze on the house. The batter they use is not inherently sweet, so the non-glazed Old Fashioned was barely sweet. Thus next time I would get a glaze on the Old Fashioned. Yet the non-glazed twist was appropriate for an Asian palate. read more

Heard great things about the tiger tail donut. Unfortunately I got there at 8:30 am this morning and it was a 20 min wait. I decided to try some on the display. They were good. I also asked if they had ham and cheese croissants and she said yes but I didn't see any on display. Price per donut is kind of pricey but for once in a while its good. I did get really disappointed that the ham and cheese croissant was store bought with a slice of American cheese and ham microwaved. Lady helping me wasn't too welcoming. read more

Firstly, I love supporting family owned businesses especially when they serve awesome food! I've actually had apple fritters from Goody's a few times when my coworker would bring them into them into the office. Decided to finally stop by since I was heading down to our Irvine office for a meeting. It was slightly before 6 when I pulled into the strip mall and still dark outside. The staff was still working hard to fill the display cabinet and sadly the apple fritters hadn't been made yet. Picked out an assorted dozen to take down for the meeting and told the owner that I would be back later that morning and requested to put aside 5 apple fritters for me. I was paying when the tiger tails had just been fried. There are few things better than freshly fried donuts. Went back to the car and devoured that tiger tail. Came back a few hours later and once again saw an empty display cabinet! The owner reiterated that it was a good thing I asked to put aside the apple fritters as they were sold out! I got the custard filled donut. It was crispy on the outside and custardy on the inside. It wasn't too sweet and filled with the right amount of custard. I also got a sugar donut. It was still good and crispy at the next day. Service was fast and friendly. The store had a big selection and everything smelled like it was freshly baked. My family has been coming here for generations. My grandparents would come here, my mom grew up coming here, and so did I! It's family owned and I am always welcomed here. It's a great feeling knowing that my grandparents old hang out spot is still here to this day and is something I can enjoy. The donuts here are made fresh every morning from scratch. They literally don't get better than this place. I'd take donuts from here than any other speciality or popular place. It's such a good feeling biting into the donuts and getting a nostalgic magical feeling!!! I will always continue coming here and HIGHLY recommend this place. However, Goody's doesn't offer breakfast sandwiches, bagels, burritos, etc. Just donuts. I've been coming here for years to grab a treat or two, and the service is chill and friendly. The interior has minimal decor to look at other than the mouth-watering donuts. Prices are average compared to what you'll find at other local donut shops. Inflation sucks, and it affects everyone. How good can donuts get? You know this place is good when a customer in front of you orders a box and asks to get it wrapped because he's bringing it with him on a plane ride to Korea. I've been here a handful of times and they never disappoint. I always bring back a box to work and they compliment how good it is compared to other donut shops. My faves are the tiger tails, cinnamon sugar twist, and the custard filled one. The filled ones are actually sliced open and filled with a good amount, not like those donuts that are filled with two bites of filling through a little hole. It is the oldest school donut shop I've ever seen. There are some things I'd say they do better than others. The Tiger Tail is their most famous item and for good reason.
