Always my go to place when I want to purchase a donut and cup of coffee! Friendly owners, just a nice comfortable local donut shop.

I'm leaving three stars because I've never had an issue here until last week. I came in around 4:30am to grab a couple dozen donuts for work. The owner asked if I wanted him to pick the donuts or if I wanted to choose them myself which I've never been asked in all the years I've been coming here. The selection was limited, and he said I was early since they open at 5am, but I've been coming around this time for years without a problem. When I paid, I noticed the price was higher. He told me it's because I chose my own donuts. Charging extra to pick your own donuts defeats the whole purpose of going to a donut shop. That doesn't make sense. Because of this, I won't be coming back and will be finding a new spot that opens early. read more

Great donuts but the prices don't match. You will get over charged. Dozen of donuts 17.99 if they pick, if you pick they will charge you by donut. Was charged $22 for half glazed donuts half chocolate donuts. Asked her before and she said I give it to you for $17.99. Receipts don't match. Plus they get upset when you conform them. Inside is nothing special, regular donut shop. Final price $30 for 1 dozen and 3 side donuts. read more

Asked for 2 croissants and 2 Thai ice tea and we regret not tasting the Thai iced tea before we left it was not Thai ice tea it was a fruit tea of some sort. First time there and they ripped us off. Okay if you don't have it don't sell us something else. We were in the city at the time also the croissants the worst croissants we've ever had not turkey was and tasted expired the croissant was so dry it was hard for us to swallow it. You can't sell bad quality food and give us something we didn't pay for. Never ever going there again read more

I feel like I've heard this was was famous but i can't remember where I heard about it! Anyway I was visited a friend in the area and we drove past here when I saw it I was like I HAVE to go and I mean donuts come on! SERVICE: Upon walking in I was greeting immediately by the owner who was so friendly! The place was empty as this was during covid. This place made sure to follow Ann the precautions and guidelines for business during the pandemic. No inside dining seating, masks, gloves, distancing, etc. I was pleased to see that. I was asking quite a few questions when I started browsing their pastry selection (yes pastry! They have way more than just donuts), and the owner was so kind to answer all my questions patiently. She was even sooo sweet to pop in a few extra goodies in my order which was a beautiful surprise! Thank you. FOOD: These are some of the best classic donuts I've had so far. The dough has a nice crisp crunch to it but still soft and no grease! I've had my share of donuts where you can see the grease when you pick it up and that oil gush when you take the first bite...but not All Star Donuts! They are also not overly sweet. The classic glazed with sprinkles. Just a very yummy classic donut with a bit of sweetness mostly from the glaze and sprinkles. The Maple and The Chocolate log donuts - these were so good. Not the classic donut shape with the hole. These have frosting so obviously a bit sweeter. These are not filled inside. The Maple one is apparently very popular! And I can see why it was. Sometimes maple can be so overpowering and sickly sweet. All Star Donuts has a perfect balance to get the flavor right. The Sprinkle Donut Holes - these were my favorite! They are just plain donut flavor but coated in sprinkles. I mean do I need say more?! Yum! These are sold in cute prepackaged baggies about 5 or 6 per bag. PRICE: VERY well priced. Pricing in a photo attached of the menu. LOCATION: in a plaza. Plenty of parking. I'm not familiar with the area as I was in the town briefly. I really wish this place was in LA proper. This place can't be called a donut shop. I walk in at 5 AM and they only have one case of donuts. Only three varieties of glazed. Choc, sugar and regular. No long johns, old fashion , plain cakes, fritters, nothing else. I asked if they had any other donuts and the answer was Nope. I was stuck. Had to buy a dz from limit selection. 1 dz donuts from no selection was 9.99. Yikes. What makes it worse I get to work and my staff tell me the donuts are terrible. They tasted stale. read more

I arrived at this donut shop in the morning to order two dozen raised donuts. The menu said that 1 dozen raised donuts was $16.99. I ordered raised but specified no coconut, nuts, or anything that is related to allergies. I pretty much ordered 2 dozen raised round donuts. When I was charged, they charged me $45. I asked why that was the cost when their sign says $16.99 and they said because I didn't not get bars and if I would have called ahead they would honor the price. This is bad business and they are over charging people. I was buying these donuts for my students and they couldn't even be decent and charge the price on their menu. All Star Donuts is a friendly neighborhood donut shop. I was greeted with a welcoming smile and friendly service! In addition, I walked into a clean shop with only a few donuts left in the case. It was a Saturday close to Noon time so not very surprising. I am guessing like many mom & pop shops that they lock the doors once their sold out. Bought me a single Glazed donut to satiate my sweettooth. It was fresh and not overly sweet. Definitely something I would buy again. Give them a try if you are in this part of SoCal. If you are in the Buena Park area, it is located on the La Palma side of the shopping center on the corner of Valley View and La Palma (look for the In-N-Out). It's more like a 3.5 stars.... When I feel like eating donuts, I go to All Star or Yum Yum because they are only .5 miles away from where I live. I started going to All Star when my coworker introduced to me to this place. Donuts were pretty good. I liked them because they were fresh and warm. I haven't been here for about a year, and when I visited recently, I did not get the same experience I had before. I was disappointed because even though I was there at 530AM, donuts were not only cold but not fresh! I live so close to this place and never tried the place out until one morning my daughter wanted donuts for breakfast before school. It was on the way to school and so we stopped by here and got donuts for her teachers and some for the office where I work at. The donuts are pretty fresh! I love the regular glazed donut. The dough is perfect and the glaze isn't overly sweet. Just a simple donut but so delicious! They don't have crazy selections or even fancy donuts but If you are in the mood for donuts, this place will fix your cravings pretty quick. My kids love their sprinkle donut holes which the price is great for a pretty generous amount of donut holes for $1. This is absolutely my favorite donut place. I now live in yorba linda/placentia area and I still drive all the way here just to have it. No place compares to it believe me I've tried to find a similar one near me but no such luck. The donut with white frosting and rainbow sprinkles is my absolute favorite. Its crunchy on the outside and super soft and fluffy inside. Their sandwiches are also delicious especially on their warm delicious flaky croissants. Omg. The owners are always super friendly. Grabbed a dozen assorted donuts + a small coffee before work and was in and out of there in about 5 minutes on a Friday morning around 7am. There were a few other people in there, but they are very efficient. Total came out to just under $10, so good deal. I judge donut places by their cake donuts- I always go for the plain donut with icing & sprinkles on it, and this one was super good! It was thick and dense, but still moist and fluffy. Perfect. I've had other places where it's super hard and dry even in the morning when it's supposed to be fresh, so I was very pleasantly surprised by how good this one was, and I even waited until about 10am to have the donut. I'm not a donut fan but I do love my croissants! This location is close to home. The older lady (the owner) is always nice & welcoming. When I overheard her speaking in Khmer, I stepped up & ordered in Khmer for me and my boyfriend. I think she was more surprised that there's a Cambodian person in Buena Park - haha. I always get the jalapeno ham & cheese croissant and my boyfriend always gets their fried cinnamon roll. The total for these 2 items is under $5 -- a definite bargain. All star donuts are just amazing! My favorite is the glazed sprinkle donut. They always make there donuts crispy on the outside and soft and caky on the inside. They also sell drinks and sandwiches. For many years it was Winchell's and it was good then. When it became All Star it's even better. This is where I buy donuts for meetings and special events. Have a large variety, they are large and fresh and offer good prices on mixed, raised and cake dozen batch buys. If you like apple fritters this is the place to go, they are fluffier, more apple taste and almost twice the size of the other places around the area. They sell bagels, croissants, and sandwiches but I haven't tried them. If you want a traditional cup of coffee (not a Starbuck's or Coffee Bean flavor) with your donut, All Star is a good place for that. In the afternoon (after 4 PM) and you got the crave for donuts they will give you more than a dozen for the same price. Although not as fresh, their donuts still taste better than some of the other places in the neighborhood. read more
