I stopped by to get some donuts for a facility of mine. The location is in a sketchy plaza. Lots of transients walking about. Great that there are a lot of signs that point you in the right direction. Both doors were locked when I arrived. The lady said she locked it so the transients wouldn't come in and shower themselves in the bathroom. Leaving a trail of water on the floor. The store was older, packed with storage items but clean. Donut case didn't have much options but appeared good. I got a jalapeño ham n cheese and she warmed it up. Threw in some baby donut holes for the dozen which is typical. Jalapeño ham n cheese was good. Facility likes the donuts. Nice owner lady. Nothing fancy but good donuts. read more

I've been coming to this location for donuts for years. It' a bit tricky to find, but it's actually quite a gem once found. It's a hole-in-the-wall mom and pop shop. It can actually get quite crowded at times due to their regulars. I generally order 3 to 4 dozen at a time and they are always able to accommodate. I do try to order a day in advance if I go over 3 boxes out of courtesy ... also it cuts down on the wait time since the boxes are ready when I arrive. The price is reasonable. Service is wonderful too. Really nice people running this place. The donuts tastes fresh and chewy and not overly sweet. Oh and of course, don't forget their donut holes. Grew up going to a granny's donuts every Sunday before Church. Would walk with mom got the Apple fritter and a chocolate milk so good. Found this specific location and my kid asked for the bacon sausage and eeg and cheese croissant. Never seen one as nice the thing took up a hole to go container for what I thought was highly priced until I saw it. Go get one. read more

Wonderful experience here! I teach at Cypress College and wanted to bring my 8:15 a.m. class some celebratory, end-of-semester donuts. I stopped by Granny's since it literally borders one of the college's parking lots. I missed the turn in (a left once you're at the dog grooming school) but once you find the right driveway, they have plenty of parking in their lot. At 7:30 a.m. on a Tuesday, I was the only customer, which I was fine with, as the two owners helped me buy two dozen donuts and a soda in an expedient and friendly manner. It was about $20 for two large boxes of mixed treats, and they even sprinkled some donut holes atop each box. Their jelly donut, which is my absolute favorite kind, was really delicious! And their Mr. Pibb is awesome here, too. I was pleased with the quick and kind service, as well as the donuts themselves. As a professor nearby, I'll be back for sure. read more

This place is hidden hut it there are soooo many customers that come here! The donuts are just okay but there is a wide variety of drinks and lottery tickets if you are into that sort of thing. If you come on the weekend there is a short cut to the swap meet by the store so that's what draws a lot of people. The workers are really nice and seem very happy to be helping everyone which is refreshing. read more

The donuts are great, but if you want to go to a place, on a Saturday morning, and get donuts without having to park 3 blocks away or be harassed by people saying you can't park in a lot that should be for the businesses around it then forget it! This place has everything you need! They sell so many different things and at a great price. The donuts are pretty out of this world too. I typically don't eat donuts but these for some reason are really well made! The muffins are pretty delicious too. I love this place! I will become a regular soon! Customer service was great too. Granny's Donuts is a staple in my neighborhood. I'm a loyalist. I love mom and pop shops and I highly recommend them whenever I can. I'm afraid I can't with this one. First of all, parking is HORRIBLE. We went around 11 AM, which is, apparently the high tide for the swapmeet across the street at Cypress College. OMG.... they really need to call the Cypress PD and give some tickets out. Not only are the cars parked in a way which I'm SURE is not legal, I'm also positive there are some other illegal activities going on there. I'll just leave it to that. The donuts (what we were there for... y'know, because of the name??) were picked over and looking BAD. The owners were very nice and quick to get me started, but I bolted out the door before I could pick one out. My husband wasn't able to find parking, so that made leaving that much easier. We stop in here all of the time, the ham and cheese croissants are amazing. If they don't have any they will happily make some up for you. I was gonna give them 2 stars because I was instantly turned off by appearance, they looked dirty... but after reading reviews I had a change of heart... they are alittle cluttered but they are super friendly... being that they are so close to the swapmeet and I am sure they get business their prices could be higher... their ham is real ham not sliced wrapped ham, it is actually really good... This is a pretty standard doughnut shop. They all have that "pink box" doughnut taste. Still prefer doughnut shops such as this one over Yum-Yum donuts, or doughnuts you would find at 7-eleven or a grocery store. Doughnut holes - my all-time favorite doughnut anywhere. Fluffy, chewy, soft, and sweet. perfect. Ham & Cheese Croissant - This was just ok. I mean, this thing was HUGE. I literally took 2 bites to taste and that was about it. Croissant wasn't a legit french croissant of course, cheese had an ok flavor, not the best of quality, and the ham was well, a salted, cured piece of meat. OVERALL: Owners are sweet and friendly, place is super old school, but that doesn't really matter because the doughnuts are yum. This place is great for some solid donuts. I'm a student at Cypress College (which is conveniently nearby) and I stop by here whenever I need a sweet fix or light snack. The croissants are my favorite thing to get here. There are a variety of foods that you wouldn't expect a donut shop to provide; this is the first donut shop I've been to that serves burgers. My wife and I went in to Granny's Donuts this morning. One thing I found hard was the location it was very obscure. We drove to Granny's Donuts and my first impression was I thought it was a little dirty inside and the surroundings. But after ordering are jalapeno ham and cheese croissant two Donuts in a coffee I was pleasantly surprised the quality in the donuts and the ham and cheese croissant and the coffee. I'm not originally from California but I do come every year or two to visit family. When I am here, I do have a few places that are 'must visits.' Granny's Donuts is one of them. The family run bakery sticks to tradition and offers a variety of goods that are hard to resist- probably because the donuts are always freshly made. My favorite is probably the old fashion donut. Even if I've tried others, I keep on reverting back to this one since it reminds me of when I used to visit as a child. read more

I have been going to this donut shop since I was a kid. They use to be in a more visible location which is now home to Walgreen's. If you can't find them they relocated right behind the Walgreen's near the driving school. They have the best donuts. It's always fresh and you can taste that they use quality sugar, flour and vegetable oil to make their donuts. It's not the nasty sugar that is hard when you bite into a glaze donut or the day old flavor donut because I have gone in the evenings right when they close before and saw them throw away the left over donuts. The croissants are also delicious, especially the ham & cheese. I also recommend their baked pastries such as the cinnamon twist or the butterfly. Overall, if you are craving donuts or some sort of pastry I highly recommend this place. The mom and pop that run the place are also really sweet people. The place is cash only, but they do have an ATM. read more
