Great donuts! We like their jelly filled glazed donuts, apple fritters and the crumb donuts. It's about $1.80 each. Other people who left reviews are a bit too dramatic about the parking situation. It's a small parking lot, but there are usually a few spots and it takes me a total of 3 minutes to park, get my donuts, and leave. read more

This store has the best donuts. So fresh. My husband has surprised the family with them twice in a month and he's not a sugar person. Definitely the most popular donut shop-they used to offer a limited amount of turkey and cheese croissants-mainstream as it gets. Also consistent as it gets. Parking is limited, and too busy-fender bender close calls all the time as the lot is often maxed out. We prefer the Donuts House on Florista and Los Al-more humble, less mobbed, and more open parking spots. Further south on Los Al, on the right side at Florista. My wife's likes Donuts House burritos, I like their ham and cheese croissants. Alamitos donuts works in a pinch, but it's a favorite for most, instead of being "highly favored." This is ONE busy donut shop. We frequent the donut shop and often walk out with 10 dozen donuts for work events. I have nothing but positive things to say about this donut shop. The staff here is efficient and pleasant. They can manage multiple customers at one time, including me -- hogging up all the attention by purchasing 10 dozen donuts! The donut quality is standard -- a donut is a donut! The price is about the cheapest you're going to get anywhere. $15 /dozen donuts is actually a bargain these days. Winchell's now charges $18 (wasn't that long ago a dozen donuts was $5 or $6)!!! All things considered, this is our local donut supplier. Good people, good business. I've came here about 3 times so I can give an honest accurate opinion. The donuts here are ok. But everyone has a different preference. I like light fluffy airy donuts with a itty bitty crunch (from being fried) unfortunately their donuts didn't meet that standard. Their donuts are kind of dense and not a lot of flavor. We usually come during the week when I drop my son off for school, but once I came on a Saturday and the donuts were definitely old... kinda like the ones they didn't sell from the day before. The customer service was great they are ALWAYS FRIENDLY! Parking sucks lol. There are some great businesses in the plaza so it's usually packed. Vibes are typical donut shop vibes.. limited seating lottery stickers everywhere. Their iced coffee is very thick like they put in a bunch of syrup. read more

I frequent the coffee shop next door and always see lots of people coming in and out of this donut shop. Randomly decided to pop by and was pleasantly surprised. Quick, friendly service and a wide variety of donuts... this is now my go to spot for pig-in-blankets and cake donuts! read more

I was actually looking forward to finally trying Alamitos Donuts coz it was my cheat day. I got a glazed and sugar twist bar. The twist bar was different coz it had cinnamon sugar; I thought it would be a nice complement to the sugar. The glazed, though not special looking, is always my go-to flavor. Well... Let's it's say that I wasted a cheat day. The donuts were both stale, flat, and not fluffy at all. It was quite a disappointment. I can't complain about the friendly lady behind the counter, but I know that I'm never going back there for donuts. Prices were about $1.10 for each and expect to pay a bit more for the fancier kind like jelly-filled. read more

Another local favorite that I find just "ok" there are 3 or 4 other donut shops in the area that I would prefer over Alamitos Donuts. They have their regulars and their fans, but for me they are always last choice. The donuts never seem to have much flavor in them for me. The parking in the lot is rough and at time almost unbearable. The place is always clean and the people inside are nice, but overall between the lack of flavor in the donuts and the tough parking situation - Alamitos sits prettyow on my list of donut shops in the area. read more

I love this donut shop. Owner Michael is very friendly as are the usual staff that help out behind the counter. Fresh donuts, great prices. Very quick service. *as of last week of May 2020 (my last visit) shop staff were wearing masks while serving customers. However they allow customers in who aren't wearing masks and it's a small shop so if you are uncomfortable with no masks from others and no social distancing possible then reconsider this place for now. If you don't care about those things then enjoy the great donuts. read more

Simply, I was curious not about donuts as this is what this place is known for, ahem duh... Alamitos "Donuts." But I am NOT a complete donut fan. The one thing I love are croissants. They had a plain one, egg, cheese and ham, and a "sausage" I believe with bacon cheese croissant. OMG! This is not to be missed folks. Maybe too early to order a sausage, but not the kind of farmer johns pork links. To me, it is probably a kosher beef hotdog of some sort. It was so good warmed up as the woman asked me if I wanted it warmed up. If I were you, eat it there or in your car. Taste so much better fresh and hot. The croissant with the cheese and bacon, holds a new form of yumminess in my belly at 10a! Hahaha Sad part was, it is not as big as the egg & ham and wished it was the same size. I was sad I ate it so fast and no more left. Parking here is not great, not the plaza's fault but for a main street of Los Alamitos/ Cerritos, you need more space for patrons. I believe there are places to sit outside and indoors as well. Customer service was awesome too and they are hospitable. read more

Coffee Toffee! I was in dying need to caffeine and made a quick stop for a pick up. I got the ice blended coffee toffee. The girl working was extremely nice and made my drink super fast. It was not too sweet and tasted yummy. It was very large and was a little under $3. I left happy. They also serve thai tea and various other smoothies. Their donuts looked good and there were so many to choose from. This place has a couple seats, tables, and a TV. read more

My family and I have come to this donut shop consistently after discovering it a couple years ago. It is a family owned shop, and their donuts are fantastic. Two words, Classic & Fresh. They have the donuts you had as a child like the buttermilk and old fashioned. Not to mention all the classics like donut holes, rainbow sprinkles, glazed raised and maple bars. Ive been going here for years and during lunch while I was attending the high school across the street. Total mom and pop shop. The shop is small with only 2 tables but they have a huge variety of things you can buy. Everything is reasonably priced and pretty cheap. Their glazed donuts and donut holes are amazing! I always get their bagel with cream cheese in the morning. It takes a while to toast but they dont skimp on cheese. Service here is great! I have never had a problem with the owners. The husband always jokes around and is really friendly meanwhile the wife, who doesnt smile often, is really nice. They never rush you and theyre very kind. Usually around 12-3 this place is packed with high school kids but theyre generally fast! In the morning it can get packed too because of the construction workers snagging their breakfast here. Bottom line: cheap prices, nice owners, decent food! read more

I have been coming to this particular donut shop for about 14 years now. The prices are fair and the employees are absolutely fantastic. I've been out of high school for quite a while, but there are still two employees that recognize me and make conversation. The donuts themselves have made my coworkers ask me where I've gotten them and wanting more. I highly recommend this location. **Beware that the parking lot is absolutely TINY! Get there early or even try parking nearby in order to get over. The hassle is worth the sugar you're going to ingest. read more

Only go to place for fresh, light donuts. The maple bars are wonderful. Breakfast croissants especially sausage is great. Not your usual greasy filler filled sausage. It is all beef, like a hot dog. Croissant is flaky not gummy dough. Friendly service. You can't go wrong. read more

This is probably the best place along the 605 to get a quick breakfast. Unlike most other donut shops, they accept credit cards here. Also the quality of their donuts are much better than the other shops nearby. I think they make them in house, and the raspberry filling they use is the actual stuff, not just flavored jelly. The owners are extremely nice, and the place is very clean. They run a great operation here. read more

It's really beautiful inside and the service was amazing. The ladies were very very nice. But the donuts were subpar. I love donuts, but there was something about the texture of this donut that didn't quite sit right with me. Also, the flavors didn't run all the way through the donut. They were just on top and that was it. Glad to say that, I tried it, but will not be back, especially considering the price of the donuts

I ended up being charged about double the price, so it seems like a tip may have been added without my knowledge. On top of that, the service was pretty rude.

The doughnuts at Alamitos Donuts are some the best I've ever had. Full stop no cap. Take the W in life and do yourself a favor by grinding on some delish donuts everyday. Unless you're fat like me, then maybe don't go everyday. You say "we get it, you're a fatty who likes donuts but why do I need to eat the treat from Alamitos Donuts?" I'll tell you. Some donut places you might go to have a weird, oily after taste to the dough. Some donut places skimp on the amount of sugar in the frosting. Some donut places have chocolate frosting that doesn't even have a chocolate taste because they skimp on the cocoa. Not Alamitos Donuts. On god when I tell you Alamitos Donuts comes correct. The dough is fresh, no oily after taste, just clean buttery smooth with that satisfying texture. The frosting is sweet but not overly. The chocolate - it actually tastes like chocolate. I've been getting the bulk of my carbs from Alamitos D for about 10 years or so, and I think maybe one time I came late in the afternoon and felt like maybe it wasn't totally fresh. Every. Other. The selection was limited, and he said I was early since they open at 5am, but I've been coming around this time for years without a problem. When I paid, I noticed the price was higher. He told me it's because I chose my own donuts. Charging extra to pick your own donuts defeats the whole purpose of going to a donut shop. That doesn't make sense. Because of this, I won't be coming back and will be finding a new spot that opens early.
