Would love to say I loved it as much as the location in Hudson ... but we ate there Friday night and 3 of the 4 of us came down with horrible norovirus. Finally went into try this place out after driving by for months and waiting what seemed like forever for it to open and we are so incredibly happy we did! It was very busy so it was a good idea we made a reservation. Even after that we did have to wait to get seated. The service was great, very informed of the drink menu. Loved that there are mock tails along with alcoholic beverages. Menu was small, flatbreads, burgers and salads, but filled with great options. Started with the shaved Caesar salad which is HUGE! So glad that my husband and I split it after our server suggested it. Then we each got a flat bread the fig and walnut and the steak and cheese. Both were cooked perfectly. The fig and walnut was sweet and the steak and cheese was more savory. We ended the night with the crème Brulé and brownie with peanut butter mousse. A little pricier but so worth it. At long last Rail Trail has opened their milford location after moving to milford we would always trek up to the Hudson location but were so happy to hear they'd be opening downtown. The inside is beautiful and incredibly spacious, love that you can see the fire and cooks still on one side and the other side has fire on the screens with a cozy atmosphere. The service and food are both excellent, servers are always ready to answer questions on food prep and usually have a good knowledge of the beer list and drinks as well. It is kid friendly but also a nice place out for a drink on date night as well. I am happy to see the Buffalo chicken pizza is back but the sesame cauliflower really surprised me with how delicious it was as well. If you don't stop in for a try you're doing yourself a disservice. read more

Been looking to stop in and try this place since we saw it was coming. The look from the outside is deceiving, as the layout is very large inside. They also have some nice outside seating we can't wait until the summer to try. We were seated right away and had an awesome waitress. She took the time to welcome us and explain what the restaurant was about and what they were know for. They had almost 28 local brews available as well as liquor. We started with Truffle Feta Fries. They were cooked perfectly and you could tell they were hand cut, and double fried. We then split a large pizza, half Duck Confit and half Mexican street corn. I found this place on Yelp and I was really excited. They have a brick oven and specialize in Flatbreads and Pizzas. I visited on a Tuesday night and the bar area was empty, but the dining tables in the back were full. BTW nice full bar, lots of space. Service was good. I didn't find a flatbread on the menu that really grabbed me so I made my own small with a hand full of toppings and it was ~ $24. A little pricey for a flatbread. But what killed it for me - it was delivered lukewarm. There was no joy in eating it. I will give them a second chance, maybe next time a pizza. read more

Our server Aliyah was attentive and helpful from the moment we were seated. She was very knowledgeable about the extensive list of craft brews and even offered a sample. We went with the Newburgh Ale which was perfect and we appreciated her patience as we made our selection! We started with the bourbon chicken wings which were deliciously crispy on the outside and so moist and tender on the inside. The wings were large and meaty and the bourbon sauce was a perfect compliment without being overly sweet. Next we enjoyed the Pepperoni flatbread pizza. The crust was cooked to perfection, loaded with pepperoni and we appreciated that it was cut into smaller manageable slices perfect for sharing. We also enjoyed a Honey Beet Salad topped with grilled chicken. The greens were crispy and fresh and the portion was very generously sized! The chicken was moist and plentiful. The ambiance was perfect on a Friday night. There was just the right amount of energy balanced with the opportunity to comfortably converse at our table for two! We will be back very soon. read more

The eternity we all waited for the Rail Trail to open proved worth it. We stopped in this past Saturday night and took two available seats at the bar. As pictured, there was a massive beer list. Wanting to try something new, I asked the bartender for his opinion and he helped me narrow in on a fantastic craft beer. For dinner, we enjoyed the Primo Pepperoni and a "make your own" with a sweet tomato base and sausage. Wow. Two amazing pies. The hot honey on the pepperoni is a pizza game changer. The restaurant overall was bright and clean. The patrons seemed generally in their 30s and older and the overall noise level was quiet to moderate. Throughout our meal we were checked on by the bartenders regularly and they made for an overall improved experience with their help. We returned on New Years for brunch and my girlfriend described the Brunch Roll as "life changing", and I really loved the Buffalo Chicken flatbread, so I guess we found our new brunch spot as well . Mostly local, none of them BudLite :-) Then go with friendly staff and a really nice facility (best of all there is parking out back--as on-street in downtown Milford is very limited at best). I have been waiting on RailTrail's opening forever; as I have nothing but good experiences at their sister restaurant in Hudson. The wait appears to have been worth it; as the newly renovated interior is really inviting. Large wraparound bar; and plenty of booth seating. More limited menu then Hudson at this time; but our waitstaff person told us that post-Grand Opening the menu will be expanding. Food was excellent as always. Can't wait to go back. A definite plus for downtown Milford. Finally, a shout out to credit card processing at your table! Why does not every restaurant do this? read more

Tried to like this Rail Trail in Milford and just can't seem to click. The bartenders are absolutely clueless as they stand behind the bar talking to each other or servers and ignore people waiting. I just don't get a bartender who doesn't engage or a restaurant who allows it. Wine orders are served in stemless glass and I swear they short pour every glass for the price. Get some damn proper stemmed glasses so at least the presentation is good. The food is fine if you like flatbread and they have occasional interesting menu offers in addition. The place is really loud when full and I swear to God they turn up the music to match the talking until no one at the table can have a conversation. I like the Hudson location somewhat better but honestly, have a sit down with your Milford bartenders and let them know why they are behind the bar. You are leaving money on the table all over the place. read more

It's a cute restaurant and has a parking lot in the back of the building which is convenient. I didn't love my cocktail or anyone that I went with's cocktail.
