Three separate groups called in separate orders, all to be picked up in my name. At curbside pick-up, I asked, at least twice, if all three orders were in the bags and was assured every time they were all in there. After driving to our destination 20 minutes away, found we were missing an entire meal/order (that had been paid for). Called back and they didn't seem to have any idea; they'll send out a "coupon." Normally a big Rafferty's fan but today was an exception. Sat at the bar, only ones at the bar, took a extraordinary time to get our food bc the bartender saw the next shift coming in and didn't ring in our order. Then when we finally get our food, which was less stellar than usual, what I assume was a manager, Sara(h?)l, sits 2 seats down and proceeds to yell across the bar at her workers. I understand the points she was making but as a manager you shouldn't yell across the bar reprimanding your workers, get up and go over to them. And calm down on the BBQ sauce on the BBQ burger. read more

My family and I called ahead Thursday to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. We arrived 10 minutes early and waited over an hour for a table. No communication with us about what was going on. The young blonde girl at the front and another young brunette girl stayed on their cell phones the entire hour we sat in front of them. Laughing and showing others what they were looking at. Multiple parties who arrived after us and that were smaller kept getting seated as soon as they arrived. We went up to tell them we were leaving and they didn't care at all. Didn't offer to try and see how much longer it would be. They just said they had to wait on a table large enough for our party of 8. The young blonde girl was super super unprofessional, smacking on her chewing gum as well. She said well a call-in isn't a guarantee for your time. I said, well it has been over an hour, and we haven't even gotten an update or an estimate. Just keep getting told that it will be whenever a table opens up that can hold our party. She didn't care at all, didn't even offer to get a manager. We will never go back. read more

This was a nice find while traveling. The server, Jordan was very polite with high energy. We have never experienced a Rafferty's before and were very pleased with our lunch. I had the chicken salad with croissant and potato soup (a little too peppery for my taste) and my husband had the fresco salad with blackened chicken and house dressing. My wife and I stop overnight in Bowling Green as we travel to & from Gulf Shores AL where we "winter" for a couple months. We looked on Yelp for a good place to get a good burger & a beer so we tried Rafferty's. So glad we did because the food was fantastic!!! My wife had the angus bacon cheeseburger and I had the homemade chicken salad croissant & homemade potato soup. Everything exceeded expectations. Great food, great service (thanks Whitney), and a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back when we are in the area!! read more

I'm a little biased here because they have very few vegetarian options. They food I've had is okay. Everything always smells good. But I'm limited to a salad and that's about it. Once a waiter commented on how much I ate and that made me feel really uncomfortable. But it's a nice place, it's just not a place I would pick for dinner if the choice is up to me. read more

To start with I had the fried mushrooms...your thinking just regular fried mushrooms that everyone serves. No sir, these were great and the honey mustard horseradish dipping sauce is the best ever. The main dish for me was tossed chicken tenders with fries. Again, your thinking yea everyone does that...and yes everyone does. These tenders were...well tender, tasted like they shopped for the yardbird at Kroger this morning and not frozen for a week or three. The buffalo sauce was just right and didn't over power. I've been here several times now, mostly for late night drinks and appetizers and for lunch. All around this is a good predictable place to go have some American food fare. You'll get a very similar menu to Applebees's or other American chain places, but the food is better and more care is put into the preparation. The salads here are amazing. Very large in size with all of the necessary items on them. The half-portion house salad alone is the size of a regular salad and comes with a croissant covered in icing (I'm really not a big fan of these even though I know other people love them) eggs, bacon, cheese, and tomatoes. The house vinaigrette is good, but it is a creamy version of a vinaigrette. The house honey mustard is really tasty, but it comes with a side of what they call "hot bacon." This is scary...really... and a little too much. I have no idea why you need bacon bits AND bacon grease on your salad (no really, a small cup of bacon AND the grease!). I'd be alright with just bacon bits, but the grease too??? NASTY! The potato soup is one of my favorites (you get even more bacon on top of the soup), and the bar food staples like cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, and chicken fingers are all very well done if you're in the mood for this kind of food. The only thing so far I would suggest staying away from is the lunch chicken ranch wrap. It says it's a "flavor explosion" on the menu, but in reality it's just bland grilled chicken and ranch dressing with a lot of lettuce. Not worth your time or money. I'm really surprised they did not put bacon in it since they seem to love bacon. So for the money, Raff's is a good alternative to most national chain American food places. This small chain is locally owned and does greasy American food well in a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is well laid out. Even though they can fit a good number of tables in here it is set up so that you feel like you are in a smaller intimate area no matter where you are seated. read more

This has been my/our favorite since it opened, as the 1st RAFFERTY'S. I was in another city, at their Rafferty's, when the mgr ask me if I enjoyed my meal. I commented that "I didn't understand why this place ALWAYS has great food, while other places are erratically OK--Good." The manager asked if I had a couple of minutes, that he "could explain why their food is always the best." I listened as he explained that they get & prepare their food fresh daily. They don't get the "chain's frozen or pre prepared & packed, to be thawed or warmed up," as others do. In other words, the meats, veggies, & fruits, are cut for your meal. In the many decades, I've enjoyed their FRESH prepared foods. If I want thawed, out of the cans, or packs, or pre mixed in the factory, we go to the others. read more

This is a solid dinner option which was recommended by our hotel. We went on a Wednesday night at 7:00pm and it was plenty busy, but we didn't have to wait. I liked the atmosphere but had to go out to the car to pick up a jacket for my wife and an extra shirt for me. It was uncomfortably cold. We are generally early eaters. However, it was getting late, and despite the great wood fire smell outside, I settled for a salad instead of a steak or pork chops. I really wanted some pork chops, but when you're on vacation, and there's no place to store leftovers, it's hard for me to just throw out good food. Anyway, I would definitely get the spinach salad again. It had some delicious crumbled bacon on top and a warm bacon dressing. Let's face it; pretty much anything with bacon on it is good. My wife ordered a plain chicken breast and a baked potato - perfect for her. The kid got some chicken somthin' somthin' that he liked. They'd both rate the place 3.5 stars. This place was fine, but nothing special. My filet was excellent, though more on the rare side than the medium rare I'd requested, but my side of broccoli was woefully undercooked. Not wanting to explain to the waiter that it needed a good 15 more minutes in the steamer, I crunched through it, but I'd get something else next time. The Kentucky silk pie was good, though it had a bit too much chocolate sauce on it for my taste, and at something like $5.50 it seemed a little overpriced. Oh, and the plastic cups they were using on the patio kind of clashed with the cloth napkins -- seemed a bit odd, if you ask me. I'd go back, but not anytime soon. read more

"Rafferty's Screws Up a Burger Part II" Second location with the same issue. Arrived and was sat promptly. Ordered a BBQ Backyard Burger and asked for mayo, mustard and ketchup on my burger. Burger arrived with nothing on it. Rafferty's staff states that they don't put mayo, mustard and ketchup on the burger but could bring me some on the side, so I can add it myself. Seems odd to me that McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Five Guys, Cook-Out, Red Robin's, Drakes's, White Castle, Krystal's and Willie Bob's Burger Shack can and WILL put any or all of these toppings on a burger but perhaps it was too difficult of a request or Rafferty's. After all, we are in the South. "Hell, they don't have any problems putting BBQ sauce all over it." I did start by asking for mayo on both buns. I recommend that since it's that damn difficult for Rafferty's to sell burgers with proper condiments, then maybe they shouldn't try to sell burgers at all. I cannot honestly recommend anyone spend their hard earned money or time dining there. Eat somewhere the staff actually serves you what you ordered. Final tally: McDonald's drive thru 5; Rafferty's 0 for 2! read more

Not a good experience for me and my wife..I am giving 2 stars only for the service. The worst food I have ever experienced. For starters we both had broccoli and cheddar cheese soup. It was disgusting, to much cheese which made the soup salty and very heavy. For entree I had a BBQ chicken and as a side I ordered grilled asparagus. Chicken breast was dry and the asparagus were blend no seasoning at all. My wife ordered a salmon fish with side of coleslaw. i tried a small bite from her salmon fish and the fish was very dry too..my daughter's kids meal was a fish finger with fries.
