My girlfriend and I ordered delivery from Mellow Mushroom during our vacation in Bowling Green. We chose the build your own pizza, large size with one half of the pizza being pepperoni, ground beef and black olives, with the other half being mushrooms, banana peppers, and black olives. We chose the thin crust option. The toppings were plentiful but I don't believe they were evenly distributed. Also, for a thin crust pizza, I found this pizza was a little thicker than what I am used to for a thin crust pizza. I would describe it as more of a hand tossed style pizza than a thin crust pizza. It was pretty good though and larger than I had anticipated for two people. The delivery was prompt and the delivery person left it in front of our hotel restaurant as requested. I give this establishment a solid 3 1/2 stars. If I ordered again, I would opt for a medium sized considering this was probably too much for two people. Recommended! read more

If there was a 6 I'd rate as 6. Ordered the House Special pizza to go and it's the best one I've ever had. It was loaded. The crust was perfect! There was a line out the door for seating on Saturday night, but breezed right in for a quick pickup. read more

It was Friday night and I was all put together after leaving a visitation. I was sad and didn't feel like going home yet. I thought where can I go and sit at the bar by myself and feel comfortable. I remembered how friendly the bartenders are at MELLOW MUSHROOM. The host wasn't real encouraging that I could find a seat but he was wrong. I was craving spinach artichoke dip and a Moscow mule. Both were absolutely delicious. The female bartender greeted me immediately and introduced herself. The couple next to me were new in town and we immediately struck up a conversation. I absolutely did not feel alone. I will never doubt myself again about going there and enjoying myself. I wanted to add that the bar had people of all ages, I might have been the oldest but not by much! read more

My life changed at the Bowling Green Mellow Mushroom. OK, I'm kidding. I definitely left the same person. But geez, I really loved this place, especially coming from the Mellow Mushroom homeland--Atlanta, GA. All the servers were super friendly and seemed happy to be there (very un-Atlanta-like) and the patrons were equally pleasant and sweet to be around (also incredibly un-Atlanta-like). The pizza was great as Mellow pizza generally is, and the whole time they had a live band playing blue grass in the corner. Took awhile to come out, but that's par for the course with Mellow. I was only in Bowling Green for a few hours, but this Mellow Mushroom has certainly inspired me to come back soon! read more

Mellow Mushroom Bowling Green is Mellow #11 on my quest to review all the world's Mellow Mushrooms. My first outside of Georgia or Texas! My brother and I stopped at this Kentucky Mellow on the way home from Indiana. We'd just spent two nights in the Hoosier State, and wished to reclaim some of the joy that Indiana took from us. We stumbled into the Mellow at 8:00pm and nearly tripped over an amplifier. "Huh???" Upon looking up we saw the source: A live six-piece bluegrass band was jamming right there in the dining room. The only thing that'd complete the stereotype were if the diners were all drinking Mountain Dew. A quick scan of the tables confirmed at least a few neon green beverages. My brother and I were snapped out of our amazement by the hostess, who had the sweet disposition of those National Park squirrels that eat out of humans' hands. Our server had the same attitude. I got the impression that wait staff are treated better in Bowling Green than in Atlanta. We sat down for our food and got our medium Funky Q pizza in 29 minutes and 50 seconds. A little longer than average but completely understandable since the dining room was PACKED. Most folks order pizza take-out these days, so it was refreshing to have that bustling in-person family dining feel. Brought me right back to the early-2000s. I've rated 11 Mellows in three states, and this is my favorite so far! read more

We have been here so many times I can't count. Pizza is perfect, durummies and wings are perfect, the rolls unbelievable. Sam, dear young lady did a great job today. All of the servers at this facility are fantastic, they are headed toward an innovative update in decor, don't know why, it is great already. But they are staying in front of the trends. read more

This was the third location on my Mellow-Mushroom visit list, the first two being Paducah and Sarasota. Like the Paducah restaurant, this one was large and lofty, as if an auto-service center had been a former incarnation of the space. Sunday lunchtime was BUSY! Our group was seated within ten minutes. Then, after ordering, it took something like 30 minutes for food to arrive. But the food was worth the wait. The gluten-free diners enjoyed their pizzas, and wheat-eater me liked the Pacific Rim very much. I especially appreciated the 5-oz. pours, which allowed me to sample beers inexpensively. Thank you, MM, for a fine Father's Day meal. read more

Mellow Mushroom pizzas are always great, and I've missed them since leaving Florida. I pre-ordered a few pizzas to take to colleagues at the hospital, and the pizzas were as delicious as I remembered from my Delray Beach days. The Holy Shiitake pizza disappeared in about 10 minutes, YUM! Service was friendly and quick, too. We need MM out here in California! read more

Excellent is the only word for this pizza. Best in KY to me. Great crust sauce and toppings. Highly recommend. We have only had delivery and been pretty quick. read more

May be a chain, but it one of the better pizzas in Bowling Green. Good assortment of toppings and drinks on tap.

The food is fabulous and the service is great. I will definitely return to this location.

Yes this is a chain, and yes we door dashed while staying in town for an event. Large pepperoni pizza and small buffalo chicken pizza. Both were excellent, on time and still hot. Always love some MMP when we're near one. read more

Love this place. Perfect place to take cute pictures and the Bob Marley pizza is so freaking good. The day I went it was busy but it gave me time to savor my food. Best pizza ever. read more

We live way out in the country and there really isn't any good pizza around us. So whenever we're near a mellow mushroom and we're hungry for pizza it's where we always stop. Loaded with toppings in a great crust and sauce. It's a must have. read more

We loved it here. Had a ton of different pizza and salad and beer options. It really hit the spot and we had enough pizza leftover (we both ordered our own) for a complete meal the next day. read more

Was at the restaurant for 90 mins. Took them 25 mins after I ordered my beer for them to inform me they didn't have it. Then waited 45 minutes after my table(party of 8) received their food for mine to come to the table. In a to go box. If I could give zero stars I would. This was on a Sunday evening. First visit. And most definitely my last. read more

Tried this location for a quick dinner on a rainy Saturday night and the service was top-notch--like VIP treatment. The Pacific Rim pizza was great, and the mild wings had solid flavor. The ambiance? Clearly designed with an acid trip in mind. But $1.25 for carrots? Are they heirloom or blessed by monks? Good food, just BYOC (bring your own carrots). read more

Food tastes great as always. Nice staff. Pick up order was correct and ready when we got there.

They've just gotten better and better... now, they are on a short list of five restaurants we will eat at in Bowling Green. Exceptional food, service, and especially ambiance. This is a DO NOT MISS-level eatery. If you're here, do this. "Order the mushroom pie." (mic drop) read more

It's been over 20 years since I ate at one of these, but not a lot has changed. They have plenty of topping and suggested pizza options. The beer menu is good. The pizza is filling and fresh although not super cheap. It's a good place if you are looking for pizza, beer, and nothing more fancy. read more

Had a very good time. Went on a company outing. The service was great. I enjoyed the food. I was with friends and that makes up for any shortcomings. Not that I noticed. The ambiance was great for a pizza place. Maybe more than I expected! read more

My family and I got Mellow mushroom and it was very good, I had never had it before and it definitely meet my expectations. The only thing was the crust on the bottom was a little burnt and I didn't really enjoy that, but I did enjoy the flavor and everything else about it. We did a curbside pickup and they were very nice and fairly quick. read more

Great vibe at this pizza place. It was comfortable, friendly, and service was great. We've been to a couple Mellow Mushrooms in other locations so we weren't expecting much as we are so used to Chicago-style pizza. Not sure if this is part of the chain. The pizza was very good. We ordered a thin crust with mushrooms and onions. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. The crust was perfect. A definite must if you want pizza in the area. read more

Been here a couple times. Service is always top notch. Sometimes there is a band playing during dinner. It is a good restaurant for everybody. Family, date, hanging out with friends. Quick seating. Friendly servers. Amazing decor. Very zen and modern. Variety of seating options. Well maintained. The food was even better. Soft breading and sweet barbecue pizza. Pizza here is really great... lots of creative choices or create your own, even with picky kids. Great staff, fun venue, and fast service... only thing preventing 5 stars was gluten free crust was disappointing - stick w/ the salads... or company needs to offer a better cauliflower crust option??? read more

We waited an hour and 45 minutes for one small pizza and one sandwich. Sooo disappointing. My pizza wasn't as good as when we get carry out. The ambience is terrible. It's so loud and the worst part is the screeching of metal chairs on the stone floor. The service was fine. I do feel like we should have been warned the kitchen was already an hour and 20 minutes behind when we got there. We definitely would have gone elsewhere. read more

We like trying unique places rather than chain restaurants. We were in Bowling Green for one night and decided to try the Mellow Mushroom. It's billed as the best pizza in town. It is a converted old garage. Even before going in it is unique with some creative statues near the door. The decor inside was also interesting with a giant mushroom spanning the ceiling and a guitar mural over the kitchen. We went on Sunday evening and it was busy but there was no wait. Many of the servers looked to be college students from the nearby school. We asked our server if Sunday night was sangria night (we saw that on their website). She said no but she would check to be sure. She came back and said it was sangria night, $6.00 a glass instead of the usual $7.50. We ordered two. It was good but not great. The menu is mainly pizza with some sandwiches and appetizers. We had the pretzel bites that came with a beer cheese dipping sauce. They were great. We also ordered two house salads and their house pizza with the classic crust. The drinks took a while to come out and the pizza took even longer. We thought the salads would come out before the pizza. When the pizza showed up, we asked about the salads. They forgot to bring them out, so they hustled to get them and gave us 25% off the salads. They were good and the pizza was especially good. The crust was tender and the toppings were spot on. Overall the decor was interesting but it was noisy. There was a very loud child nearby that the parents just laughed at rather than trying to quiet down. The food was very good but the service not so much. It was worth a visit but probably wouldn't be my regular hangout if I lived locally. read more

Good food! We love the pretzel bites and the BBQ chicken pizza. Service was slow. Fun atmosphere for adults and kids alike.

Classically Great! The vegan pizzas and calzones are always top notch - trued tempeh on our pizza for the first time and loved it! Was similar to sausage! And in the spirit of being adventurous I tried the Abita PB & Jams Beer which was surprisingly delicious! Can't wait to go back for the super service and delicious food! read more

Spinach dip is impeccable. Food got me feeling rough in the morning, but I don't care it's worth it!

I really like Mellow Mushroom. I've always enjoyed it. I used to visit the locations in Tennessee, and then when I moved to Louisville there was a location there, and soon a second location, and I frequented both of those. Sadly, they both closed in the past year, so I don't get to have it often. So, recently when I visited Bowling Green I decided to go to Mellow Mushroom for lunch. It was just as good as I remember. I opted for salted pretzels and beer cheese and it was delicious! The location was cute, like all Mellow Mushroom locations are, and it apperaed clean and orderly. The staff was helpful and friendly. I placed my order online and walked over to pick it up. It was quick, and my food was hot and fresh. If you're in Bowling Green and looking for a quick and casual lunch spot I think this Mellow Mushroom is a safe bet! read more
