100% would recommend this restaurant!!!! we arrived right at 5pm when they open back up for the day. firstly the atmosphere and customer service is top tier. everyone is super attentive and welcoming. we started off with mixed drinks, with a very wide selection, each drink we tried was perfectly mixed and balanced. we definitely would recommend the french martini and vette city. as for appetizers, we tried the fried pickles and jalapeños. the batter was light but crunchy and flavorful and the house made ranch paired perfectly with them. main courses i would 1000% recommend the chicken rosa. such a delicious dish with a creamy mash potatoes side and perfectly seasoned and sautéed fresh vegetable side. the lemon caper sauce paired with the chicken was stunning. chicken was cooked perfectly and still very juicy. the basil pasta dish was al dente with a rich, herby, and creamy sauce. the crème brûlée was the most delicious dessert to end the meal with a perfectly crunchy sugar top not too charred and the crème part was flavored very nicely with a good vanilla taste. 5/5 WOULD RECOMMEND read more

For the price of my meal/dinner entrée, it's presentation was excellent. Good to great for the price point. service was adequate. Barkeeps were politely, however very cold at times. It a hard balance when for some. The atmosphere was modern chic with farm house feel. The pour on my wine was subpar along with my dinner portion of salmon. We were staying in Bowling Green on our trip to Mammoth Cave NP and decided on Gerard's for lunch. I ordered the Fig & Brie Burger, and my husband decided on the KY Sunrise. We had a hard time deciding between the two, and agreed to split them when they arrived. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were both so good! The combination of flavors on the Fig & Brie was delicious and the egg on the KY Sunrise was divine! You can't go wrong with either of them. We both had sweet potato fries with a side of the smoky aioli for dipping. They were perfectly cooked, which is hard to do. Often sweet potato fries are either burnt or undercooked, but not these! So glad we found this gem on our short stay! read more

We were looking for a dinner spot near the ice cream shop planned for after dinner and Gerard's 1907 looked promising by their online menu. Street parking was easily found and we were greeted & seated immediately upon our arrival. Our server was friendly and very attentive from start to finish. The inside decor was urban & laid back, offering high top seating, tables and bar seating. Sports were being playing on the tv's around the bar & dining space. I opted for one of my favorites, beef stroganoff. Food arrived hot, within a reasonable time and presentation was perfect. I didn't read the menu closely enough so I didn't realize potatoes were served in lieu of the usual egg noodles. The potatoes were good though and the beef was tender. I would've hoped for more mushrooms, as the dish seemed to have less than one small mushroom in total (sliced thinly) but I enjoyed the amount of red onions in the dish. Overall, everyone in our group was satisfied with the food and experience here. I would be trying another dish next time though. read more

We were looking on Yelp for a highly rated lunch spot and almost chose a couple other places nearby, but decided to stop here after checking out the menu. We're glad we did. The service, food, and prices were all excellent. The hostess and wait staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We had the Wienerschnitzel and it was outstanding, and the sauerkraut was some of the best we've ever had. You really can't go wrong with this great place in Bowling Green. read more

I normally don't write reviews. So let me just say the salmon is so good it moved me write this review. The lemon caper sauce will surprise you and vegetables that come with it complement the dish well. The basil pesto needs a breadstick with it, but also has fantastic flavor and quality to the ingredients. The music is also kept at a nice quiet volume as compared to most restaurants. read more

Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. First, we came here on New Year's Eve, the staff was impeccable, kind, and in great spirits. They were closing in about an hour and did not shoo us away. Our waitress, I wish I recalled her name, was hilarious - she got our sarcastic jokes and kept advising how she loved our family dynamic (we are a bunch of kooks). So many options to choose from, they change their menu out a lot because a few items/pictures I saw were no longer there - which is fine. I love it when restaurants are constantly swapping out items! I got the Fig & Brie Burger, and wow, just wooooow. The cheese was gooey and thick, the Mediterranean fig spread and the perfect amount to have that sweet and savory, and the jalapenos added a perfect pinch, not spicy, but just made my mouth dance! I suggest the sweet potato fries too! My husband got the Nashville Hot sandwich, which was a thick piece of chicken, juicy, and the colesaw had a perfect crunch. Drinks: I got a seasonal old fashion I believe with vanilla and then a seasonal gin with bubbles, both outstanding. You know this place has a bunch of chefs because my brother-in-law changed on of the sauces on his burger and our waitress came out and wanted to double check because the "chef advises it would change the flavors/texture, etc." ... that's when you know you're at the right place! lol read more

Dined here with friends late this afternoon and very much enjoyed it! Morgan M. was our server - she was welcoming, pleasant, and just plain wonderful. She genuinely appeared to appreciate our patronage. Morgan recommended the Fig and Brie burger. My wife and I both ordered it, and it turned out to be a great choice. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Our friends ordered a salmon special, and fish and chips. They both cleaned their plates! Cocktails were very good, I'm not exactly sure what everybody else ordered, but their glasses were emptied. I had a Newcastle Ale, which was served quickly and cold. Perfect. The restaurant is also tastefully decorated and clean. Again, Morgan was very attentive, giving us just the right amount of attention. Very pleasant young lady. I also felt this restaurant offered good value and fantastic food and drink. Looking forward to returning! First time here! Came with friends and what a pleasant experience! Our server was to notch, letting us know the specials. We all got the fish n chips, was delicious, but started with the beer cheese dip, also tasty! She timed our appetizer, soups and salad, and mains perfectly. Was passing through town & saw great reviews for this quaint little downtown spot. It has a rustic, exposed brick kind of style I love. Staff was friendly especially the bartender who made an amazing lemondrop martini & their seasonal "cowboys don't cry" bourbon concoction for fall. Absolutely delicious! The star of the show was the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries on the side. Mouthwatering! The menu is delightful, and the food was incredible. 1st-3rd photo description: Appetizers: #friedgreentomatoes w/ sriracha sauce -- WHOA; Just whoa. Highly recommend. #friedbrussellsprouts w/ Horseradish-- the flavor was tasty - not as spicy as I had hoped, with horseradish, but the flavors worked! Entree: #Cubansandwich & #sweetpotatofries Okay, so those who KNOW ME know how serious I get about a Cuban, because, let's be honest... Cuban's are one of my absolute favorite foods from childhood and growing up in Florida. Flavor was ON POINT. If you want a good Cuban sandwich, add this establishment to your list. Although I returned to Bowling Green eight years ago, I had not eaten at Gerard's Tavern. My significant other stated he had been there before, but I had never. This eatery is obviously very popular and has a great following because it was quite busy on a Thursday evening around 6:30 pm. I was satisfied with my burger and sweet potato fries, and my partner was satisfied with his fish and french fries. One thing that slightly alarmed me was we did order the fried mushrooms as the appetizer special of the day. They were fabulous, but I had not realized they were $12 so it came out to ~1 per mushroom. Alas, I digress. I truly want to come in this restaurant because my ADHD South had stuck a gift card. I bought at a cancer fundraiser rally actually a few years ago. I had found it in a drawer. It did not indicate the amount, but I think it was $20-$25. The server, who had been absolutely fabulous and was training another server was gone for a while trying to settle our tab and indeed, they could not find that gift card in the system. Apparently they had changed systems and I have had a couple of gift cards expire in the past -- which I really don't think gift cards should have an expiration date. Ultimately, and good faith, they gave us $20 off the tab based on the identifiable gift card and my explanation of having had it awhile. Based on that alone, I would definitely return to this restaurant, even if the food had not been delightful. Integrity is a huge thing in my brain and I appreciate it so much. Once again, I have become quite verbose. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend dining at Gerard's Tavern, especially if you are looking for a cozy and quaint atmosphere. read more

I really enjoyed eating at Gerard's. It was suggested to us by a local and the food was quite delicious. We had the Beef Stroganoff with a Caesar Salad on the side and the Chicken Rosa. The flavor of the Stroganoff was excellent as was the Chicken. The salad was crisp and fresh. So...why the 4 stars instead of 5? Because even though it was good, beef stroganoff came with mashed potatoes instead of the traditional noodles. Second, stroganoff is made with sour cream in the gravy and this dish didn't taste like it had any sour cream. Therefore it was closer to a really good beef manhattan rather than stroganoff. Arrived on a Thursday night right at 5:00. No reservation but we were seated right away. Cocktails served quickly. Waiter gave us the evening Specials but we chose off the menu. We enjoyed a delicious Caesar salad and our entrees were served shortly after. Hubby had the stroganoff (no noodles?) but the flavor was spot on! I had the Chicken Rosa-Heavenly!!!! I will dream about this meal for a long time! We passed on dessert opting instead for Brusters Ice Cream. Wait staff was attentive but not annoying. We came in on a Wednesday evening, a group of eight. I did not see the ability to make reservations on their website, so I assumed they did not take them. This place is tiny. The hostess seemed annoyed when we ask about a wait time or if she could accommodate our group, and replied that she did not know. We asked if we could wait at the bar. The hostess was not very helpful and appeared either inexperienced or put out. Unfortunately they were not able to seat us together after waiting 45 minutes. They placed us at two table that were perpendicular to each other. When we asked if we could turn one of the tables 90 degrees so we could sit linearly they declined. The table were against wall and an already locked door, so this just seemed petty on their part and like they did not want to be inconvenienced. I would not recommend without reservations. Otherwise, the food and drinks were very good. read more
