I ordered a pork roll and egg sandwich on a pretzel roll (nice option) and my friend had eggs over easy, home fries, and rye toast. One of those legendary local breakfast joints that you almost don't want to tell people about because they're busy enough already- but you've gotta share the wealth. The Radcliffe Cafe is only open for breakfast & lunch (they close by 1:30PM, at 1PM on weekends) and can get very crowded on weekends later in the morning but things move quickly enough that it's worth trying to hang in there for a table. You absolutely can't go wrong with their staples - their omlettes are particularly tasty. Become a regular or go as a local and someone at your table will always see at least one person they know, which just adds to the small town feel. (As an S.O.S. and biscuits & gravy snob, I must say theirs are just 'okay', but their more standard items like the eggs, waffles and breakfast sandwiches are so good that I don't feel the lack unless I'm really hankering one or the other.) I've been coming here for years, and anytime I'm home for a few days you will find me here various times. It's the neighborhood spot in Bristol for a cheap delicious breakfast with quick, no-frills diner service. Find it packed on the weekends, but I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes. They don't even give you dirty looks when you walk in 10 minutes before they close, because they know they can have you out of there within 30 if necessary. From the sandwiches to the omelets to the pork roll and cheese on a kaiser bun, I have nothing but good things to say about the Radcliffe Cafe, and its owners, Vinnie and Robyn. Kudos to you guys for keeping such a great Bristol business this successful! Also, pour some more Bailey's in my coffee, Vinnie. I was a regular breakfast patron at the Radcliffe Café for several years after discovering it was only a little off my route from Newtown to Mt. Holly on mornings I needed to be in court down there. It is named for the street it is on, which runs along the Delaware River until reaching downtown Bristol. It is easy to imagine how nice it was 100 years ago when the area more open and the river carried the commerce from Trenton to Philadelphia and all points in between. The Café is a great spot for a hearty breakfast - traditional style. Eggs of all varieties, pancakes, sandwiches and bottomless cups of Joe predominate. There are the regulars who are there daily, the semi-regulars who come routinely, but do not call the lunch counter seats their own, and the tourists who stop in because they stumbled onto it, or heard a good rumor about it (on Yelp?). Dog eared copies of the Trentonian were available for reading accompaniment. The staff is out of central casting for diner molls. You can't get out without being called, "Hon," or "Sugar," at least once. You gotta like that cultural affect to be captivated by its charm. When I was a semi-reg, there was a server who I wanted to call me that and more. I always sat on the right hand of the counter to enjoy her intriguing smile and black jeans. My choice was either a big breakfast sandwich, which always came with the Sunnyside Ups leaking out, or the French Toast. Both tasty. Both completely satisfying. Sadly, I could never linger for a long chat with her, as court beckoned. Still, my imagination often ran wild with the possibilities. Stop in and start your own daydreams. read more

Someone on Facebook called the Radcliffe the "Cheers" of breakfast diners. Bingo. You could not feel more a member of the community if you threw on a Bristol Warriors hoodie and a Dow Chemical hat. This diner will serve you decent staples lightning-fast, or challenge your preconceptions with mind-blowing creations of processed cheese and pork product. Can you eat healthy here? I suppose. But WHY!? I recommend the Breakfast Bonanza only if you've just finished a marathon; otherwise, go pancakes-to-the-wall and see how many parts of a pig you can sample in one omelette. The service here makes me want to salute. Nothing but respect for all of the Radcliffe's employees, who execute their jobs as efficiently as Marines but with the attentive gentleness of preschool teachers. Cheap, good diner food. The service is friendly and your coffee is never empty. The breakfast is simple but good. It's not brunch at sabina's but you will leave full and your wallet will thank you for not robbing it. Try the egg special and any of the omelets. read more

You can walk in and seat yourself, there's also bar seating (no booze) where you can grab a seat. Only been there for breakfast but they have lunch as well. For the price, I don't think you can beat this place. Everything is cheap, cheap, cheap which makes up for the odd location and cramped spaces. Their grits are awesome, but not nearly as awesome as their scrapple sandwiches, which are huge behemoths that I love ordering! Great quantity, and a quaint, familiar, family feel. I must say, being that the feel is old - school, (in a great way!), they still have not migrated to a credit card payment system, but that's OK. Just bring CASH to your visit. Wait staff was attentive, sweet, and not hovering, which could have easily been the case, as we dined in a rather crowded front room of the Radcliffe, at about 45 minutes prior to closing, so the place was full. I understand why. The portions were "loosen your belt" size, as I had fries and a sanndwich, and my fiancé had pancakes. I don't often find myself in Bristol (we were adventuring out), but if I did, I would become a regular of this place for a hearty breakfast, or a rocking lunch! read more

Heard so many people say how good it was. Went there a couple weeks ago for breakfast chipped beef . Terrible no taste just greasy. Yesterday members of the Family wanted to go for lunch. Went there with the girls and Great Grandkids. I ordered the lunch special. Cheeseburger deluxe with cup of soup. Burger was terrible . Tasted like it wasn't even grilled, no char gray color, no onion , no mayo. no taste. You would think a cheeseburger deluxe would taste good and have mayo and onion included. And the roll was terrible. And in addition the waitress was lazy she couldn't even reach over halfway to put food in front of people she handed to us to pass it on when she didn't have to. The Radcliffe Cafe is situated between some industrial buildings in Bristol. Looks can be deceiving! This place was pretty full on a weekday morning. I have only eaten here recently for the breakfast. I had gotten the 2 egg special with meat, home fries and toast, which was less than $4. Also the waitress was very attentive and provided plenty of coffee refills. I would like to add that I did visit during the middle of the week, and was able to be seated (self seating) as soon as I walked in. Please note that this place only serves breakfast and lunch, so it closes pretty early. Also, if you're going on a weekend, be prepared to wait, unless you get there early! Such a nice little restaurant. Best place to eat in the area. I've been to every restaurant from here to Yardley and I always find myself coming back to Radcliffe. The staff is friendly and you always get quick service, even when it's jam packed! The breakfast potatoes are the best around!! If I had one bad thing to say, it's that they don't accept cards...
