Their coffee is great, and they do have a very small selection of pre-made savory breakfast items -- I had their sausage, egg and cheese in a pretzel wrap, which was quite tasty. It's quaint and cozy inside, with the only con being that they close at noon on Mondays and Tuesdays (other days at 3pm), but hey, at least they're open every day! Baristas are super friendly. Parking is free on side streets. It's one of my usual spots whenever I'm in town visiting family. read more

The donuts from the Amish markets were DELICIOUS. The service was amazing and they definitely helped us with what we order. The atmosphere is nice, white/black /tan/ light blue modern industrial type vibe. They have space where you can work on your laptop or yap with friends. Typical hipster coffee shop in the middle of Bristol Borough's growing foodie scene. The menu was simple, but it had a smaller font and could use some upgrading. The staff was somewhat friendly and seemed more interested in their friends hanging around than engaging in conversation about their product. There were several tables, local art on the walls, plants along a ledge and bar height seats against the window providing a view of Mill Street and along the recessed entryway. There is outside seating along the sidewalk. Coffee wise they offer espresso drinks, locally roasted coffee blends and single origin. They sell their bagged coffee on site. I had a tasty cortado that was rich and creamy with a bold flavor and lingering chocolate/cocoa. I'd repeat Some bakery items were available in a pastry case. The coffee cake caught my eye - made by Bread & Butter in Morrisville ... It was a huge portion, rich and buttery. It needed a shot of cinnamon. Their classic anise almond biscotti was from Bucks County Biscotti which I'm a big fan of. It was delicious. We had 2 of the biscuit sandwiches, one w/ each sauce, both are great. We had a simple syrup latte, the peach bourbon cappuccino, the drip, an americano and the dark chocolate cold brew. All were great! They roast their on beans and the people know what they are doing. We have been visiting Bensalem and I couldn't find a good coffee shop close. First time here at this nice vibey coffee shop. Decided to order the dark chocolate coconut cold brew and a breakfast sandwich to go with it. The coffee tastes amazing and the sandwich was really good as well. Sandwich consists of bread, eggs, cheese, ham and this sauce that's pretty good. Great coffee spot in Bristol. It's a tiny shop but the coffee is awesome so I definitely recommend stopping by! They also have an outdoor + back door area to sit as well. When I was there today only two women were working and they were quite literally working their asses off. It was quite a delay in getting your order and the workers kept apologizing but everyone was super respectful to them and I was so glad to see it! They were doing the best they could! My fall latte was so tasty and I will definitely be back for not only the latte but the cheese danish. A+! read more

Very cute! Has that super local artisan vibe going for it, and the employees were all super friendly. I've been looking for what feels like my whole life for a coffee shop that does the patterns in the foam, and at first glance I didn't see it and was about to put the lid on until my husband stopped me and said, "It's a swan!" WHAT. So cool. And they had window seats which I also love so this was great. I got the special flavor which was the elderberry evergreen latte which was really good. I've never had elderberry before even though I've always wanted to try that too, so it kinda tasted more like pistachios to me? Well I love pistachios so either way I don't care. The only thing is that their menu looked pretty sparse, basically a lot of plain coffees except for whatever the current special is (elderberry latte in this case). And also my 12oz cup was $5.75 which I do consider to be expensive but as an occasional treat does tend to be the cost for specialty coffee these days. read more

When I wandered this cute, riverfront downtown two years, when I first moved to a neighboring town, the one thing I wanted and couldn't find was a good, cozy coffee shop - not a mainstream corporate chain. Besides their fairly vast variety of drinks, they sell trademarked merch and bags of beans. Calm Waters is the epitome of a good locally owned business - steady flow of happy customers, clean, cozy venue, decent product. I ordered a dirty iced chai, and it was very good, uniquely yet perfectly spiced. I will say, their prices were a little steep. (Ha! Steep! Get it?!) The cashier was kind, but there's always room for improvement in customer service. That's what keeps me coming back as a customer. I wouldn't say this place is a "hidden gem" because when I came in on Saturday morning, the place was poppin'. Great little coffee shop. The pastries are great, highly recommend the almond log which is topped with a raspberry spread. They do fresh roasting on site and they roast a great bean. Good drip coffees, good lattes. They do rewards which you can use for free drinks or their brewing class. I haven't taken the brewing class yet but I'm excited for it. That being said as a new and up coming coffee shop. Alot needs to be added. Like more table and seats on the inside and outside. More coffee flavors to choose when getting a cup of coffee. More food to choose from when getting Breakfast. I had the tomato, basil and mozzarella, panini, And was by far one of the best I've had in along time. And for the coffee. Perfect cup with some cream and sugar added. The staff is nice. And so is the atmosphere inside. This is a cool place to meet up with a freind and just get a cup of coffee and chat. The aroma of the fresh roasting beans swept us toward the counter. I was served one of the most delicious cups of coffee I'd ever tasted - and husband ordered a cold coffee drink that was flavored with dark chocolate. This is a very quaint coffee shop. It's not very big on the inside but the atmosphere is super chill. There are a lot of college students who come here to do there homework therefore there is good internet, AC, and outlets. The owners are nice and would talk to you. ;). The coffee price is slightly pricey but that's expected at small coffee shop. Their prices can't compete with Dunkin or Starbucks but the quality is so much better. BEST PART OF THE SHOP: THE STOOLS BY THE WINDOWS HAVE GREAT SPINNING QUALITY. I love sitting by the large windows to people watch, spin on my chair and sip on the coffee. So my friends and I came here to hang out for a while after checking out some other shops in the area. I have to say while the inside is super cool, I really wasn't feeling this place at all. I hate to be the guy to point this out, but it has such a hipster vibe that it's almost like they are trying to hard to be hipster and that turned me off. I didn't really knock them for that, it just wasn't to my personal liking. (Side note: I don't mind a hipster vibe if it feels natural). There were some other things I just didn't like. First off, the coffee for me just didn't taste amazing. There wasn't anything bad, but it fell flat in flavor. I have a really high standard for coffee as my local city has tons of local roasters that may have spoiled me a little bit. I also was hoping to try an alternate drink like a tea, but they only had some infused kind that day and that didn't interest me. Another thing that bothered me is they seemed to only have food that catered to people who love carbs or sugar. That kind of bummed me out. My friend and I really would have loved it they served like bacon or even a meat or cheese platter to snack on. So with all that being said, I was kind of bummed. read more

Located on Mill Street, Calm Waters is a yuppie coffee house that we've been planning on visiting for quite some time. The set up was appealing with chairs, stools, tables and a couch off to the side in a sitting area. The counter back in the left corner for ordering. A small coffee and chai latte set us back $6. Employees were young, and not very helpful after asking a question. Our small coffee was set next to another beverage that was picked up by a gentleman, and we had to explain what had occurred to receive another one. While waiting there was a banana jam that was listed for $5 and I paid in cash which somehow the total was $10.60. After having buyers remorse, Jess went to return it and the cashier said it was refunded to my credit card? Yeah, that goes without saying..... we returned to get my cash back. One sip of the coffee and it was thrown in the closest trash can. The chai latte was good but luke warm. A very bad experience in product and service reminded us why we rarely frequent Bristol, PA. read more

If you have been cruising Mill Street over the past few decades you know that it has had better days, but also that a few brave urban pioneers have jumped into the breech and begun new businesses that seem to be taking root. Calm Waters Coffee Roasters shows what dedication and imagination can do to turn around a main street in a struggling neighborhood. The room is well renovated to feel about 1969, with exposed brick walls, sanded and polished narrow slat wood floors, and a tin panel-looking ceiling, that may not be authentic, but sure adds to the great ambiance here. The coffee is roasted right in the middle of the house and served hot, fresh and new. Guatemala seems to be the source of the beans, and the owner's TLC in producing a quality product is obvious. The taste of the java is bright and subtle, and a pleasure to drink. I will bring a bag home the next time I stop in before court. They call themselves 'coffee roasters' for a reason. That is what they are here to do. Yet, they know people want to sit and enjoy their Cuppa Joe, and the room is well suited for a quiet conversation at one of the deuce tables. Still, it is not yet a café as the offered accompaniments are not as good as the coffee at this point. There is no grill for breakfast or lunch plates. They provide instead a few pre-packaged bakery things like muffins, and a decent microwave oatmeal that they will heat and serve. There is a Panini press that toasts and stripes one at a time. How much better Calm Waters will be when they are able to install a short order kitchen for early breakfast, late brunch and midday lunch. Regardless of what the future holds, the present is impressive enough (in a quiet way) to warrant high praise. It has been too long since a Mill Street morning provided good reason to return. read more

Truly worth the five stars. The place it's charming and modern, super clean and amazing bathrooms lol . This guys are an excellent example of great service and how to maintain a impeccable business. The espresso was right on the money, dark, full body flavors with caramel and chocolate notes. The barista offered a shot of eggnog with every espresso as a holiday special :) both of the workers with great smiles, friendly, informative of their products and very good Baristas. They roast their own coffee and have an excellent price point. 8oz for 7$most coffee roasters are between 12 and 18 (I hope they don't change this!)
