Coffee cake - made by Bread & Butter Morrisville ... rich and buttery. Big portion.
    John L.

Typical hipster coffee shop in the middle of Bristol Borough's growing foodie scene. The menu was simple, but it had a smaller font and could use some upgrading. The staff was somewhat friendly and seemed more interested in their friends hanging around than engaging in conversation about their product. There were several tables, local art on the walls, plants along a ledge and bar height seats against the window providing a view of Mill Street and along the recessed entryway. There is outside seating along the sidewalk. Coffee wise they offer espresso drinks, locally roasted coffee blends and single origin. They sell their bagged coffee on site. I had a tasty cortado that was rich and creamy with a bold flavor and lingering chocolate/cocoa. I'd repeat Some bakery items were available in a pastry case. The coffee cake caught my eye - made by Bread & Butter in Morrisville ... It was a huge portion, rich and buttery. It needed a shot of cinnamon. Their classic anise almond biscotti was from Bucks County Biscotti which I'm a big fan of. It was delicious. I don't frequent the Borough during the day, but I'd like to stop in another time for their drip coffee to see what their house blends taste like. Thanks guys!

    Cappuccino

Was walking around to find a place to quench my caffeine addiction and came across this lovely gem. I ordered a cappuccino and was not disappointed at all. You can tell the coffee is of excellent quality and well made. At first sip my mood rose exponentially! The service was outstanding. The ambiance was great to collect your thoughts or even get work done.

Lovely little shop. Excellent customer service that was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. Vegan hot chocolate available!

Clean, simple, and wholesome menu. Basic offerings to include lattes, americanos, etc.--both iced or hot. There is also a simple selection of baked goods from which to pick. The service is friendly, and the space is modern with clean lines, exposed building materials, and ample seating. I ordered the Dark Chocolate Coconut Cold Brew with Oat Milk. The branding is on point. Additionally, the noise level on a Friday afternoon was reasonable for small measured conversation and for those who which to focus on work or other personal matters while enjoying a cup of coffee. The shop is located right on Mill Street in downtown Bristol.

First time here at this nice vibey coffee shop. Decided to order the dark chocolate coconut cold brew and a breakfast sandwich to go with it. The coffee tastes amazing and the sandwich was really good as well. Sandwich consists of bread, eggs, cheese, ham and this sauce that's pretty good. I think the sauce is like a mayo/sriracha combo type. Service was great and helpful. They made the coffee and food pretty good. The place is pretty tiny but a nice coffee shop. Love the vibe to it. Sat at the window and ate. Highly recommend coming here if you want to try a coffee shop.

Calm Waters continues to provide consistently excellent espresso drinks prepared by friendly, knowledgeable baristas. Each month, they roll out new single origin bean varieties that always keep the menu fresh. When you add in the creative seasonal specialty drinks and atmosphere, you have a top shelf coffee house. Now with two locations (Bristol and Newtown).

Great coffee spot in Bristol. It's a tiny shop but the coffee is awesome so I definitely recommend stopping by! They also have an outdoor + back door area to sit as well. When I was there today only two women were working and they were quite literally working their asses off. It was quite a delay in getting your order and the workers kept apologizing but everyone was super respectful to them and I was so glad to see it! They were doing the best they could! My fall latte was so tasty and I will definitely be back for not only the latte but the cheese danish. A+!

Very cute! Has that super local artisan vibe going for it, and the employees were all super friendly. I've been looking for what feels like my whole life for a coffee shop that does the patterns in the foam, and at first glance I didn't see it and was about to put the lid on until my husband stopped me and said, "It's a swan!" WHAT. So cool. And they had window seats which I also love so this was great. I got the special flavor which was the elderberry evergreen latte which was really good. I've never had elderberry before even though I've always wanted to try that too, so it kinda tasted more like pistachios to me? Well I love pistachios so either way I don't care. The only thing is that their menu looked pretty sparse, basically a lot of plain coffees except for whatever the current special is (elderberry latte in this case). And also my 12oz cup was $5.75 which I do consider to be expensive but as an occasional treat does tend to be the cost for specialty coffee these days.

Calm Waters is exactly what Bristol needed. When I wandered this cute, riverfront downtown two years, when I first moved to a neighboring town, the one thing I wanted and couldn't find was a good, cozy coffee shop - not a mainstream corporate chain. Calm Waters is the perfect place to set up shop with your laptop, your friends, or a book. It's rustic-chic, hipster heaven. Besides their fairly vast variety of drinks, they sell trademarked merch and bags of beans. Calm Waters is the epitome of a good locally owned business - steady flow of happy customers, clean, cozy venue, decent product. I ordered a dirty iced chai, and it was very good, uniquely yet perfectly spiced. I will say, their prices were a little steep. (Ha! Steep! Get it?!) The cashier was kind, but there's always room for improvement in customer service. That's what keeps me coming back as a customer. I wouldn't say this place is a "hidden gem" because when I came in on Saturday morning, the place was poppin'. There's metered street parking out front, but if you're looking for a grab-n-go, you might struggle to find a close spot, depending on the time of day you visit.

Great little coffee shop. The pastries are great, highly recommend the almond log which is topped with a raspberry spread. They do fresh roasting on site and they roast a great bean. Good drip coffees, good lattes. They do rewards which you can use for free drinks or their brewing class. I haven't taken the brewing class yet but I'm excited for it. Good setting with plenty of seats in the revitalized Bristol main street.

Calm Waters is a clean, bright, friendly coffee shop along Main Street in Bristol. It's easy to get to (parking out front or in the basin lot behind the shop). The staff was friendly, our drinks hot and tasty. It's a nice little place to pop in for a drink and chat with a friend or grab & go.

I adored their original location, as it was super quaint, quirky and cozy. When they first moved to this new spot, it felt a bit more clinical and commercial but they've done a great job of personalizing it, and I'm happy they kept a lot of the original furniture. My favorite item on their menu is the Whitefish Toast -- it comes on a fresh, thick, hearty piece of seeded toast, and the whitefish salad is dressed with pickled carrots and micro greens. It's a pretty generous portion at a reasonable price. I also love their seasonal Campfire latte, which is a rich, creamy delight with a touch of sweetness. On this visit, they had run out of the marshmallow topping but they kindly offered a partial refund to make up for it. The only downside is that this place gets packed early; by 8:45am, the only seat available was in the window. People seem to post up for the day with their laptops, and while everyone loves a good coffee shop work sesh, it seems ownership may need to institute a time limit so others can enjoy the atmosphere as well. If you're dreaming of stellar coffee, tasty locally-sourced food, and nearby access to the river, this place answers all your prayers.

The guy working behind the counter was pleasant and knowledgeable about their coffee offering which comes from Homestead Coffee Roasters of Upper Black Eddy. Their drink menu consists of hot/cold coffee, tea, lattes, and espresso based drinks. I tried the drip coffee and would highly recommend it. It is a private label version of Homesteads Darkness - dark & bold with notes of rich, smokey chocolate. I enjoyed the dark roast, rich chocolate and its bold full body. The cortado and espresso I had were ok. I found them to be a little too bitter, but there was a strong roasted earthiness flavor that I liked. On a return trip I'll have to try their Vietnamese coffee. Food wise I've had the sausage egg and cheese on a bagel and a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. They are simple and decent sized with simple folded egg patties and cheddar cheese on average bagels. The sausage had a little spicy kick and the bacon was pretty tasty (NOTE: they do offer pork roll as an option). I was given some hot sauce packets to go. You can also get sandwiches on a croissant. The rest of the menu is simple - toasts, sandwiches, salads, some items for the kids. They do sell their private label coffee beans in retail bags and will grind them for you. I'll stop in again if I'm in the area. The coffee and ambiance is great, the food is ok to good, service great and the idea of a non profit that supports community is commendable. Thanks!!

Now adding to the enjoyment is The Bagel Joint housed in what used to be the old pharmacy and thereafter sewing shop at #257. Most of the original woodwork and medicinal draws are still there. A few days after the snow of the decade the drifts and plowed piles of graying white made parking problematic, but I managed to back into a shallow spot right across the street. Walking in, the morning sun through the large windows made the room bright and cheery. Mike was behind the counter and greeted me heartily. He let me know that there was a special breakfast deal - meat, egg and cheese of choice, plus tater tots for the price of the sandwich alone. I couldn't resist. Cooper Sharp Cheddar, please, on Onion Bagel. To go. It was all still warm when I reached the office; so I settled in at my desk to chow down before getting to work. It was all very good and filled me quickly. The tots were more than I could finish. The transport had taken the crispness from the bagel and taters, but the flavor was there. Given my self imposed delay in eating right from the grill, I can't be sure that the bagels went though the boil/bake cycle, although I read in another review that they were produced offsite and flash frozen, rather than made onsite. I will leave that discovery to someone else. For me, I was satisfied with my breakfast and would return when time and circumstance permit. 4 Bristol charm Stars for The Bagel Joint.

Their bagels are baked and flash frozen by Pretzelworks off Oxford Ave in Philly. The sandwich was a good size and had good flavors (they forgot my hot sauce request) and a light kick from the sausage patty. The bagel had typical rye pumpernickel flavor, and a balanced portion of cheese, egg and meat. If you like a bagel that's dense with a bit of a chewiness you'll enjoy theirs. I think they wanted around $6.50 to $7.00 for the sandwich which was fair. I didn't try the coffee, but it smelled good. I'd definitely return if I'm in the area and when it's warmer! Thanks guys!
