Have used them twice in 2 months - once for moving and second for disposal. Seriously the nicest people I've dealt with. From the customer service with getting quotes to the actual movers. No crazy inflation on pricing - not hourly all fixed which is baller! For moving: the Crew was on time, super friendly very early in the morning on a Sunday, quick (total move was about 5 hours including 2 flights of stairs and the drive to the new location), made sure to keep in communication with us so they knew what to take and what not, smart parkers (which is not easy in Sunset Park!). Did some stuff get nicked or broken in the move? Of course, but it's expected and nothing major at all. My super fragile and nervous pieces were PERFECTLY moved. For disposal: the crew was late but they called me early to let me know why and it was more than fine, took them less than an hour to move a HUGE haul of garbage and giant heavy furniture down 2 flights of stairs. Faster than the movers but then again they didn't need to be careful! The pricing was super clear and straight forward. No hidden charges, no extra costs on the day of because my list of inventory was pretty spot on - and they were able to work with me where not so spot on. I HIGHLY recommend this company!! read more

Moving with Rabbit Movers was a nightmare. While packing, they knocked the gas stove on and left it running overnight (luckily a neighbor smelled it down the hall and had the super get into our apartment). Due to work and Covid-related logistics issues, we weren't there to supervise the move which was a big mistake. They left a small truckload of stuff behind--furniture, rugs, and books which we found strewn all over the apartment. They left it a complete mess. To make things worse, we found that instead of packing the things in my desk drawers, they dumped out the contents and stole a debit card and a checkbook that I had forgotten to move beforehand. We had to take off work yet more days to rent another truck and move the rest of the stuff ourselves, which was difficult to arrange with our co-op and we're still dealing with identity theft and have had to close all of our bank accounts. The company refused to do anything about the theft and only refunded a portion of the packing fee for leaving stuff behind. Do not put your trust in this company and if you do for some reason, definitely supervise the move from start to finish and make sure you don't forget to move anything of value yourselves. (this review was as of 5 - 6 months ago) I was recommended rabbit movers from a friend, so I gave it a shot. I had a good amount of stuff, so at the time I thought the quote I had been given was alright. All things considered with tip, it ended up being more expensive than it was worth. One of my larger items, a sofa, did not make it into the apartment and had to be left behind. This is indeed my fault for lack of due diligence, but in order to dispose of it I had to pay 50 to 100 dollars (I don't exactly remember). That was a bit silly. Prior to getting to the new place, I was asked if I had used a moved company before. I replied, yes, I have, why do you ask? It turns out he was strongly hinting at, and asking for a tip. I understand that tips are implied in moving, and I'm happy to oblige that. Specifically asking for one however, I felt was a bit rude and unprofessional. I discovered a couple of my dishes had broke, and a couple glasses as well broke. Not to mention that the movers stacked all the boxes on top of each other in the room, with the heaviest most fragile box on top. That wasn't very wise and was not good planning, it made it quite difficult for me to unpack. They were also 30 - 45 minutes late for the move. Don't use them for larger 1-2BR or family moves. In addition to the 2 full-timers, they end up hiring 2 extra part-time people on call who have little job commitment, showed up late, etc... I did ask Rabbit for additional van run which only required 2 of their full-timers and that was fine. Only hire them for small 1 BR or studio rentals and you should be OK. read more

DO NOT USE THEM! I've moved around a lot in the city and have never had an experience this terrible. The moving crew never showed up at all - we waited in our apartment until 10:30 at night, eventually had to get a hotel because all of our stuff was packed. We called three times during the day to confirm and get ETA on when the team would arrive, they kept saying between 5-7pm. At 6:30 we called to get an eta, and no one picked up, even though their office is supposed to be open till 8. The next morning we called at 8:30 and their dispatch teams were so sketchy and evasive. I had to call back two times that morning to get them to get us a moving truck that day. They were supposed to arrive at noon, but didn't get there until 3:30. Told us we should be lucky they could squeeze us In at all. When we filed a complaint, they asked me for "my side of the story" as if it was a dispute. Terrible customer service all the way around. My wife and I went with Rabbit because a friend recommended them. He said they had damaged and then paid for repairs on his grandfather clock, so we felt protected in case things got damaged. We just didn't expect so much to get banged up/destroyed, and we expected the company to return our emails and calls once it did. We want to support working artists, but not at the expense of our stuff. Here's a list of the things that didn't make it intact: - standing lamp (cracked glass shade, broken bulb holder) - armoire (I asked the movers if they wanted me to remove the molding before they moved it; I even told them it was super easy to do; they proceeded to crack it and eventually ripped it off the armoire entirely. They also cracked the bottom of the armoire in half, which seems like it would be hard to do on purpose, let alone accidentally) - two dressers (scratched the top) - wooden bed frame (scratched to hell, and reassembled incorrectly) - desk (completely obliterated when they stood it on its side. It's an Ikea desk though, so we didn't even mention this to them. We're more interested in the $2000 armoire they obliterated) - two bookshelves they inexplicably left UPSIDE DOWN in our garage, so the tops are now scratched beyond repair. The worst part: after acknowledging some of the damage, they took $50 off the price. $50 doesn't cover the wood glue I need for repairing just the top of the armoire, let alone the wood doctor we're going to need to repair the structure of the thing. The mover told us to call the office, and assured us that we would be taken care of. We've called, we've emailed, and we've heard nothing for over a week. I'm not much for complaining on Yelp, but this was the worst moving experience of my life, and I've moved ten times in the last fifteen years. I've read through a few of the positive reviews and am sure the company does a good job most of the time, but trust me, you don't want to be on the receiving end of their bad day. read more

Wow, I have to correct my previous comment. While the first leg of our move went well, it turns out Rabbit never updated our item inventory or changed the destination location that was initially incorrectly listed in their paperwork. What followed was a complete mess. Though the movers did the best they could, the office didn't know that our stuff was in their storage facility, more than doubled the price we were quoted, took about 7 hours to move with only two overworked people and were rude about troubleshooting the problem. First while wrapping my TV the mover Cory dropped it and just said "my bad". Later while getting my things organized I saw they forgot the shelves they'd taken off if a bookcase. I called, received two messages regarding it, no indication of when is get my shelves. Well two days after I move I'm taking some trash out and there are my shelves next to the garbage! Want to keep your stuff, don't use them! Edit 4/28/14: Wow, I can't believe the nerve of these people. I have been meaning to write this review since early December. From my first phone call to book they made the whole process so easy. I had to provide insurance to the buildings management and work with the buildings limited hours and they managed to give me a good rate and date. On the moving day Felix and Richie called me to let me know they were on their way. They were super friendly and efficient. They got everything into the truck and then managed to get everything into my storage space. It was really a great experience and I would absolutely use/refer in the future. read more

The WORST!! My husband and I hired them for a short move within Manhattan. The guys who came were nice and courteous, but that is about it. We paid EXTRA to have assembly/disassembly of our two beds and no one brought tools in order to do so. Initially, one of thus guys went running around our building asking staff for a drill then had to run over to a hardware store (4 blocks away) to buy tools. Can was say unprofessional!! We had to tack on an extra HOUR to our move time and pay our building an extra fee since we exceeded our four hour elevator window. Let me make this clear, we had everything packed and the only thing we needed help with was the assembly/disassembly of these two beds. In order to surpass a four hour initial moving window, is still mind boggling to me. Waiting for them to arrive to the final destination: Well, this part was interesting. It took them three hours, THREE HOURS to get to us. We called and called, and then called some more, with no response or answer. The only way we finally received a callback, was when we called their office and threatened to call the police. Then miraculously boom, we receive a phone call...how convenient. Unloading of our personal belongings: The one mover was seemingly annoyed that we threatened to call the police if they didn't arrive shortly after our call, and let us know about it. He was beyond rude and huffing and puffing the remainder of the move. Which cancelled out the fact that the other two movers were so polite. Then the one with attitude had the nerve to ask us to write a good review on "yelp" for him. I'm sorry what?! In the end our move, in total went four hours longer than we were quoted, a dented master bedroom set (which they packed), antique mirror (which the packed) mixed in with a bunch of lateness and attitude. read more

It took them 2.5 hours just to move a small studio's worth of furniture out of an elevator building (the whole move took 4 hours, which is ridiculous for the amount of furniture I have), the van they brought wasn't big enough, they didn't wrap my mattress in plastic (they dragged it across the ground), they broke a few of my things, and overall, it was a lot more expensive than it should be and took much longer than it should have. This is NOT an advertisement, but moveyourway.com was a much better, much faster, and much cheaper company, but they were booked up, so I used these people and was disappointed because I had similar expectations. These movers are fine if it's your first grown-up move (read: you're not cajoling your friends into wrestling all your crap into a U-Haul) and you still own mostly Ikea furniture, but if you've got furniture or items you want handled with care and respect, look elsewhere. The movers are a bunch of hipster stoners who WILL NOT show up on time, will laugh at you when you mention you want anything fragile handled with care, and will generally be obnoxious. Spend a little more and go with a real moving company, not these sad stoners who's clearly rather be anywhere else. Two stars only because they paid for a proken item. read more

These guys were moved my sister-in-law, and I was there at the time. Fair warning: I wouldn't trust them near any of my stuff. First, they were late. They broke a few things (including scratching the side of an expensive armoire), then claimed it was already broken. Why would anyone pack up broken stuff for a move? I overheard them joking about a previous female client and making inappropriate jokes. Despite all this, my sister-in-law tipped them close to the recommended (and undeserved) amount and one of them had the audacity to bitch about it. Ridiculous. Since I wrote this review, I'm going to follow up. Thought I did awhile ago. I hired them to pack and move. They through furniture away I didn't want trashed. I paid for them to unpack as well. To this day I find things missing. My other laptop was stolen, tax files,old cell phones, furniture damaged. They lost pieces to assemble my bedframe. They re-imbursed for a small glass antique table they trashed that was worth over $500, though I purchased insurance they claimed there was some cap. I hired them because I heard they were all artists, and I thought I'd be supporting artists, they were nothing but crooks. I should have had the same crew for pack, pick up, and delivery, unpack; I did not. Some of the guys were very nice. But someone will steal your wallet and help you look for it. read more

Very unprofessional moving company. My family and I were going to use them for a short distance move. When we spoke to their receptionist Reagan on the phone she assured us that they would come through for us and move us the next day. We submitted all of the forms our building required movers to fill out including liability insurance. 30 minutes before our management closed the day before the move, we received a call from Reagan informing us they did not have adequate liability insurance. This was the evening before our move. She told us to call our management and ask them to make an exception. Our management company is known for being jerks and we knew this was not possible but tried anyway. She wasted a half hour of our time going back and forth. She kept whining and saying "we already charged your card and it's a lot of money". As if we did not know they were going to charge us a fortune and as if our management company would care! Their quote was over $500 more than any other moving company had quoted but since we needed a last minute move we agreed to it. Finally at 5;55 Reagan said they give up and they will not do our move. They left us with no movers 15 hours before our move was supposed to happen! This created so much frustration and more stress when one is already stressed out over moving. I do not understand why they charged our credit card in full before they filled out the paper work. Luckily it ended up working to our favor. We found man with a van moving company who charged us $400 less and provided very professional movers. And they did not charge us until the move was complete! read more

Rabbit was taken over by Marrins' M-o-o-ving, and it is now terrible. They gave me a quote ahead of time and it ended up DOUBLING by the end of the day. I told them numerous times in advance that they would need a Certificate of Insurance, and they showed up without one so it took them an hour to track it down day of (and I was billed for this hour). ETA: I'm giving them a 4.5 star rating because Rabbit Movers did actually do all they can to (1) find the dog beds, and (2) get them back to us as quickly as possible. They called to update on whether they could actually find the dog beds, and offered to pay for replacements in the event that they could not be found. Once the dog beds were actually found, they called to let us know, and they also let us know when they would be coming to drop the dog beds off, and to make sure that we'd be home at the time so the delivery could be made. I'm glad they made the effort and I'm glad that they actually found the beds! ***** This would have been a 5-star rating, but I had to take away not 1, but 2 stars for (1) failing to unpack our dog beds, and (2) not getting back to us after we realized that they were packed but not unpacked, and reached out to both the team lead who helped us move (Reggie), and to the customer service guy (Nate). I specifically told Reggie that the dog beds needed to go with us, and then someone apparently packed them in blankets. They were never unpacked, it seems, because nobody ever checked the bottom of the bin that they were in - they saw the blankets, and apparently didn't check that the blankets weren't actually wrapping something inside. We didn't realize the dog beds were missing (just assumed they didn't get packed when we didn't seem them at the new apartment) until we checked the old apartment. The dog beds are not there, so they did get packed. Two missing dog beds, fine, I suppose we could've done a better job supervising, but it seems to me that making sure you unload everything you loaded into the truck is an important (if not essential) part of the job as a mover. But since it was just dog beds, I was going to take away one star (since they don't do 4.5 stars on Yelp) and clarify that it'd be a 4.5 star review if we could do half stars. However, I am definitely annoyed at the way we were ignored when we contacted both Reggie and the company about the missing beds. I texted Reggie after figuring out the beds were not unloaded (so about 3 hours after they had left), and had no response from him. My husband then called the office and while Nate was sympathetic to our plight, and promised to look into it, we never heard from anyone at Rabbit. We had to follow up ourselves, and it is now only vaguely resolved because luckily, when we called again, Reggie was in the office. It really should not have been this complicated, and it really took away some of the goodwill that was built up on how the team did in terms of the actual move (minus the dog beds). The actual move was smooth - the team showed up on time, called ahead to make sure we knew they were on their way, carefully packed and efficiently moved all of our furniture. They had all the right tools, and were careful in moving everything. We had a bunch more boxes than we had actually listed for our estimate, and Reggie was very good in terms of explaining to us how the extra charges would work, and what we would get in terms of paying the extra fees, so that we wouldn't be shocked at the end with random extra charges. read more

So I had my stuff in storage for a while and just took it out. What did I discover...a broken sofa (fortunately it's in the back so not too noticeable, a broken mirror (the kind that goes over the door) and a TV stand that had the wood bent, so now the glass cover no longer fits on it. Really guys, how much care did you take when placing my items in storage. I had already decided not to use them again (I went with Oz Moving and Storage this time, which was much quicker (finished my move in less than 3 hours despite going a further distance) and the guys really knew their stuff. I really like the idea of the company, but at the end of the day, I need real professionals who can get the work done quickly and know how to take care of my property. Distance between apartments, 2 miles in the same borough. Got this response "Prices on peak days between the 24th and the 4th start at $890." 3 other quotes came in between $250-300. I've used rabbit movers three times before, once for a personal move and twice more with my company as I thought then they were professional and reasonably priced. I'm moving apts and called for a quote, mentioning that I have used them THREE times in the past 3 years. I then received a quote that was $500 more than three other quotes from movers in the area. Not only was it NOT competitive, it was excessive and they seemed very unwilling to make things work for a past client as I was then told that it would only be cheaper if I chose another day to move as that is their minimum for that particular day. However, moving into a new apartment after the 1st is not only strange, it's unreasonable as I would then be homeless for a day. This isn't a review of their moving capabilities, which I feel are adequate but it's a shame that a company doesn't have the slightest interest in keeping a client who has consistently used them in the past and quotes me EXCESSIVELY at a minimum for a day in which they clearly had time to move me. I would suggest taking it into account when someone has used your services before and keeps coming back, however I won't even bother doing so the next time around. read more

I've never written a yelp review before and honestly I feel terrible giving the movers a bad review because they all seemed like such nice guys but... I called Rabbit movers last minute because the moving company I originally booked did not show up. They guy on the phone was very understanding and took a FULL inventory of my belongings over the phone. I told him EXACTLY what I had (down to the smallest detail) and described the stair situation, etc. I'm new to NYC so I really don't have very much stuff. I was given a estimate and told it would probably cost 350 dollars at the most. The movers showed up on time and were really nice and very careful with my belongings. However they moved so SLOWLY and it took over 1.5 hours to move 14 boxes, two book cases, and an airmoire into the truck. Honestly, I don't understand why it took 45 minutes to unload and 1.5 hours to load. They wrapped a few pieces, but even that was at a snail's pace. When it was time to pay it was $150.00 more than my quote via the phone. I was really upset about the price and didn't have enough cash to give the three movers a 20% tip because I only calculated for the $350.00 estimate + tip. I even tried to help speed up the process by unwrapping all my furniture myself, which had been wrapped in moving blankets. The foreman mentioned he usually got higher tips for his guys, which made me feel very uncomfortable since I'm not made of money either. I felt bad about not tipping them more, but honestly they moved at a turtle pace and I would have tipped very well if the estimate had been calculated more accurately. I would not hire this company again and if I did I would suggest getting a flat rate. read more

I used Rabbit several months back - like others, I really WANTED to love them and rave, but I have to say I was underwhelmed. Compared with other movers (I have moved about 5 times in NYC) they are super-friendly, nice good attitude, but clearly inexperienced, which in my case, lead to a very expensive move. I don't have a ton of stuff, but with a crew of 4 movers plus doing a LOT of work myself (including carrying boxes down 3 flights of steps) it took close to 8 hours. Not having a foreman made the move hectic. I was moving into storage and when we got to the space the guy who was sort of in chage freaked out and said there was no way it would fit. The woman at the storage space pulled me aside and said he didn't know what he was doing (based on that and the way my stuff was put in the truck) but I was so exhausted and freaked out about how much the move was costing that I didn't want to risk it, and went for the bigger space (which is $100 more a month than the one I reserved) The real problem though, is that they totally FORGOT my air conditioner AND the front closet which I specifically and repeatedly said needed to be packed. I only discovered this when I went back to clean. After spending over $1,000 to move a 1 bedroom apt, I had to hire another mover to get the remaining things, which cost another $120. The other strange thing was that although knowing i was moving into storage ( I was very clear about this with the front office) they brought no bubble wrap, instead using blankets, which they then took back, leaving my stuff not only exposed in storage, but now the next movers will have to wrap the stuff again, which will bump up the cost of the next move. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Rabbit yet after I owe everyone else's Yelp reviews of them to my amazing moving experiences. My first one was a year and a half ago in the heat and humidity of a New York summer from NYC to Philly. I was nervous about the move (both for the physical move itself as well as everything to come after leaving NYC), so I wanted a flat rate. Molly came over to estimate my needs and came up with a fair price that included getting my stuff to Philly and getting their guys back to BK. Frustratingly, the foreman with the truck was a little late, but the other guys did what they could to wrap my furniture so they'd be ready to move everything out the second he was there. They worked really fast and took care of my stuff. It was pouring rain once we go to Philly, and they did everything they could to keep everything dry. It was as good of a moving experience as I could ever have expected. A year later, I moved back. (No, it wasn't a failed decision to go to Philly, but the one-year job just came to an end. Yes, NYC is still the greatest city.) I called up Rabbit again. Without an estimate, they generally prefer to work by the hour, but Molly knew I had the same stuff as before and gave me the same price. It was a little more frustrating the second time around since there are apparently a billion pricing schemes depending on the day of the week, the weekend of the month, etc. But Rabbit made it work for my budget, and I'm so glad I decided to use them again. Again, they were a little late, but they still worked super fast and carefully, and my move as easy as could be imagined. I loved working with a small business that lives and dies by their word of mouth / ie. yelp reviews. It meant I could trust them to do a great job, and they lived up to that promise. a solid week after my move i'm still thinking about how good these guys were. they were about 15 minutes late, but called ahead to let me know. everyone was super nice and polite. no judging my shabby sofa, rainbow kite, or hulahoop. when we discussed about where they were taking my stuff, one of the movers said "oh, so you're moving to brooklyn?" (from queens). when i responded in the affirmative, he patted me on the back and said "good girl." there was no grumbling about carting my shit up a 5th floor walk up, and more than once they nicely complimented my new place. i can tell you the movers my roommate hired a) bitched about the walk-up b) didn't know how to move her piano, despite telling her they did and c) complained about her tip! (WTF?) rabbit movers did no such thing. in fact, i got a call about 4 days after my move just to check that everything had gone OK. amazing. i will say, rabbit is not the cheapest option. my move was $150 per hour for 4 guys. but moving is effing stressful. it was worth it to splurge a little on this and not have any grief or worries. (there's enough other crap to think about.) i can't recommend rabbit enough. great decision. oh, and 10% off if you pay in cash, which is awesome. read more

Exceptional service! Rio and Richie were fantastic - punctual, extremely quick, and handled all of my items with great care. I had about 10 boxes of varying sizes, a mattress, bed frame, desk, office chair, some bags, and two sofa chairs. Rio and Richie wrapped my mattress and sofa chairs, and packed the rest of my belongings into their truck in under 40 minutes. My new apartment is about 95 blocks uptown, and they finished the entire job in under 2 hours! They were even kind enough to move some of my roommate's heavy boxes from the lobby of my new building into the apartment. Excellent moving team! They arrived earlier than scheduled which worked out just fine. They were very friendly and personable which goes a long way during just a hectic time (everyone knows that moving is a lot of work). I've had other moving teams in the past, but James and Steve were by far the greatest I've come across. I would definitely use them again! read more
