Oh boy, were they just wonderful!!!! I had three super helpful and supportive team members--Bobby and Jah--who helped me with both the move-out to storage and the junk removal. They were absolutely amazing at what they did and had such a wonderful attitude toward the work and toward me. They even helped me find more boxes that needed to go to storage while doing the junk removal and took me back to the storage again with such a sweet and patient attitude. Moving is already really hard and Bobby and Jah were awesome. Beyond my level of expectations. I hired previous movers and it didn't work out so well, but it worked out better with these two! Bobby, Jah and his team were absolutely excellent! They were professional, timely, and detailed oriented. Bobby his secretary, and I were in constant communication, scheduling/planning a week prior to moving stuff from my 3br house to a storage facility. My move was scheduled for the 9a-10a block. I was notified when they were on their way, they arrived early (around 8:30a) and went straight to work. They made sure all of my furniture was wrapped, protected with blankets if necessary, and handled all of my stuff with care while loading the truck. The most notable thing about Rabbit Moving & Storage is that they completed my move in less than 2hrs!! After my last movers wreaked havoc on my things, I swore I'd rather do things myself if possible--yes, that means moving my own furniture, too, if I could. ...But we know that's never really going to happen. I inquired with at least 10 moving companies to move 5 rather smaller pieces of furniture, and some of them were clearly out there for my arm and leg with their pricing. I decided on Rabbit because the reviews were good enough and the price was fair, but kept the negative reviews at bay which gave me some nervousness. I believe the guy who moved my stuff was named Roberto and he came with his dad who was super sweet but didn't speak English. I was very concerned at the beginning when they arrived almost an hour late to pick up the things but made up for it by having my items moved into my new place within 20-30 minutes of arrival and with a lot of care put into wrapping and handling my things. They finished earlier than what I had anticipated so I was pretty satisfied. Anthony was rather responsive at communicating via email. We never spoke on the phone and he honored my wishes not to with all the necessary information given at the start, unlike some of the companies who didn't take my request seriously and abused calling me during work hours like loan sharks. The quoted price that I was given was fair, especially since they were coming from BK to northeastern Queens for the job. Obviously, I'm paranoid as hell when it comes to external services but this move made me feel that maybe it's not all bad and knowing that I have friends who are making some big moves soon, they're to be thrown out as a recommendation. read more

Fraudulent company. BEWARE - this is not the Rabbit Movers of old. It's a guy in Brooklyn who subcontracts moves out to random third-parties, who use their own trucks and equipment. Items were left at my old apartment without question or apology. When I went back to pick them up myself, the apartment and hallways were left littered with packing material and junk. I had a great experience with Rabbit for my move this week from Manhattan to Brooklyn. The responses I got via email with the sales rep Sarah and CEO Anthony were quick. They turned around the COI that my building needed really quickly as well. When they asked for payment in full before the move, I was honestly a little sketched out. I thought, what would hold them to come and do a good job if I already paid? I was comparing quotes at the time and this made me consider switching, but the other company required the same so apparently this is a norm in NYC? Anyway, I looked at some bad reviews here on yelp too and was starting to reconsider. If it wasn't for the good experience that my girlfriend had in the past I may not have gone forward with Rabbit. However, I had nothing to worry about because they were basically perfect. I said via email that I needed to make a certain window for my new buildings elevator, and the crew showed up exactly on time to the minute. Will and his crew moved my stuff out of my apartment extremely efficiently. Some feedback: the survey that i filled out was very good - it reminded me of a lot of the stuff that I hadn't considered moving. The emails however, could look a little nicer. On mobile, the text is all jumbled and made me hesitant to pay via the link sent, especially when paying in full before, which is a practice that made me uneasy. I had used Rabbit twice and was very impressed. I recently booked them for a move from NYC to DC. We purchased insurance and the insurance company told us to get a particular document from the movers before they left. The movers packed and loaded our things and we requested the document before they left. There was some on-site confusion with the movers (who'd we been providing breakfast to daily and had established a friendly rapport with) as to whether we needed it or not. So we called Rabbit HQ to politely discuss this question at hand. To our shock, the owner, Anthony Collazo, screamed furiously at us, rattling off profanities and accusing us of "wasting his time," and "lying," and then before we could respond or understand what was happening, he hung up, emailed that the move was "cancelled," and directed the movers to unpack our belongings and leave. Absolutely shocking. In a state of total disbelief, we called to apologize for the misunderstanding and begged them not to cancel mid move but Anthony belittled us, screamed at us, ranted uncontrollably, and expressed spite at having to deal with "people like you." All we did, over the course of three phone calls/10-15 minutes, was try and politely get clarity on a simple paperwork question and he cancelled our move without warning or hesitation, and said he will not provide a refund. This has by far been the most insane customer experience of my life, and it seems like this owner--despite his workers being very professional, efficient and kind--is mentally unstable and not fit to be trusted with such a sensitive, important and costly service. Now we will have to sue the company to get our money back for such a deeply unnecessary saga over a simple paperwork question that was raised courteously. In the final email exchange, Anthony's final note said something like "good luck with communicating better in the future." Rabbit Movers was excellent for our cross borough move! The sales team (Johnny and Mercedes) were prompt and fulfilled our every request and update, and the entire move went so smoothly. We got a text an hour before the start of our scheduled move time that the movers were on their way with an estimated arrival time and were in our new apartment in under an hour and a half. DANGER - DO NOT HIRE RABBIT MOVERS - DANGER. My PREGNANT WIFE and I were without furniture for 6 weeks! We only had a blowup mattress and 2 folding chairs to rest and sleep on. Anthony Collazo doesn't pay his bills on time and therefore your shipment will be delayed. Highlights: Stole Money - They're the cheapest to quote, but we were up-charged mid-move and were strong-armed to pay more (also illegally discretely charged my credit card 2x) Didn't Deliver - Broke the contract delivery window of 1-10 days. We hired (and paid additional money to) Dumbo Movers to complete the move. Deceitful Communication - My pregnant wife and I were without furniture for 6 weeks with deceitful communication to believe we were going to receive the furniture at different points during our wait. Police - Since Anthony (the "CEO" of this 5 person shop) didn't steal 1 item, and he held our entire furniture/appliances/livelihood hostage, the Police couldn't do anything and stated that it's a civil matter and to hire a lawyer. Lawyer - We hired a lawyer to communicate with Anthony on our behalf Human Resources - There is no HR department of this 5 person shop. I at one point got him on the phone, and he called me a B!tch and hung up the phone on me. Before you hire them, make sure you get Anthony on the phone to be the judge if he is the type of person you want to work with. Department of Transportation - Rabbit Movers does not have the certifications to deliver interstate; they outsource to a different company (usually Dumbo Movers). Fine Print - Make sure you read their terms and conditions. If a shuttle truck is required (smaller truck for small streets), it is an opportunity for them to charge you more. Reviews - I can guarantee that all of the reviews that spoke poorly of Anthony are true. Him stating it's spam is an obvious lie. Poorly Managed Business - They held our furniture because they're behind on payments; they don't have the funds to pay off bills. Since they don't have the ability to ship interstate (and utilize Dumbo Movers), they didn't pay Dumbo Movers. Although I paid in advance via Zelle, Rabbit Movers spent our money on other bills. We had to start a new and separate contract with Dumbo Movers and paid more money for Dumbo Movers to move our things. Summary - Please don't hire Rabbit Movers, please don't experience the living nightmare that we experienced, it's just not worth it. Just hire Dumbo Movers instead, they saved the day and delivered our possessions. Background info I've used Rabbit Movers a total of 3 times. The first two moves were same-day, and within Manhattan. The 3rd move, the most recent move was from Manhattan to St. Louis. The first two moves (years ago) were actually fine, and they did what they were supposed to do. However, this last move was a living nightmare. Summary of the move: I had scheduled packers (via Rabbit Movers) on January 18th, who saw exactly how much furniture, appliances, etc. we had to move ($537 for the packing [agreed upon pricing]). The onsite manager of the packers for that day suggested that we needed additional boxes. That night of January 18th, I spoke to Joelle and approved the 9x extra boxes of $346 (It was originally $400-something but we negotiated [unexpected unreasonable pricing]) which confirms the fact that everyone was aware of the amount of furniture, appliances, etc. that we had (especially because they had our previous freight moves inventory on file). I was told I could buy my own boxes, but of course, it was after everything was closed and I didn't have enough advance notice to do so after an exhausting day. Our move was scheduled for Jan 19th (total cost $3,550 [agreed upon pricing]), and the packers from the day before were in charge of our move. However, the truck that was sized that day was purposely too small (this is consistent based on previous reviews), and so we had to pay for an additional truck. Therefore the evening of January 19th when I spoke to Johnny, I had no choice but to pay $999 (unexpected pricing) for the additional truck to arrive on Saturday the 20th. We obviously had no choice, we couldn't leave our things behind. We got in trouble with the building because we weren't supposed to use the freight over the weekend (Jan 20th). We also had to catch a flight on the 20th which was extremely stressful. A month later after reviewing my billing statement, I noticed that Anthony illegally charged my credit card twice, adding up to $756. I received a credit from the bank after explaining the illegal situation. For all other charges (that I approved) an email confirmation was sent. Everything about the move - from a small 2 bedroom in NYC to Massachusetts - went seamlessly. Bobby, Jah and Justin arrived promptly at the arranged time; they had foreseen the need to remove the front door and came with their own tools. They worked efficiently and had everything packed up and into the van in just a few hours. Bait and switch. You'll end up paying hundreds more than the estimate or sweating alongside them as you move your own things. Or both, like I did. I never write negative reviews, but this company made my move a total nightmare. Expect to be charged tit-for-tat for random items that you wouldn't think to include in a normal estimate, or have them leave behind so many that you need to do a second move by yourself. ITEMS LEFT BEHIND THAT I HAD TO MOVE MYSELF After hitting me with a same-day fee of hundreds of dollars, they left countless small, random, and/or awkward objects for me to move myself. I was pretty thorough in my estimate, but of course you can never take everything into account (pillows? a broom?!). A broom and dustpan, folding drying rack, hamper, pillows, backpack, aloe plants, door mat, kettle bell, humidifier, wicker baskets, etc. were left because they weren't spelled out in my estimate. Having sticker shock, I agreed to take my own under-bed storage bags to knock $50 off the surprise fee--but there was no clear communication that they would also leave those other things behind. There's a big difference between the trips it takes to move a couple bags and dozens of small and awkward objects. If I had known, I would have re-organized what went into the moving boxes and what I'd take myself. BOX COUNT BAIT AND SWITCH It looks like others have had the same issues with their literal definition of boxes, which they apparently use to manipulate you into spending more on moving day. I ended up paying $150 more on the day of so they would take my "extra" boxes. The thing is, I chose the amount of boxes their site estimates for a typical one-bedroom apartment, then ordered what BoxUp estimates for a typical one-bedroom apartment. Why is there such a discrepancy between the two companies? Hmmm.. At the end of the day, isn't a moving company supposed to make your life easier and not harder? Why refuse to take things like doormats and beach umbrellas and brooms? It just seems so petty. My same-neighborhood move ended up costing me over $1000 and my sanity since I had to move and carry so many of my own belongings. The UberXL driver laughed when he saw how close it was and how much room they still had in the truck. 1. HANDLED MY STUFF ROUGHLY One of the movers put my digital piano upside down on top of another item. Keys were pressed heavily and the mechanics were shaken terribly throughout the move, which caused fatal mechanical damage (audio broken). The mover did not wrap my delicate stuff (computer, thin glass from my coffee table, etc.) securely; he just put them loosely in a box on a blanket, which worried me to death. 2. THEY DO NOT COVER MECHANICAL DAMAGE They caused fatal mechanical damage to my digital piano, but because there is no physical damage, they dismissed my claim. Even after I pointed out that the mover mishandled my piano, they did not attend to the issue at all. 3. GREEDY FOR TIPS I gave the movers 22% of the total as tip, which I thought was pretty generous; the mover looked at the tip and said, "That's it? I thought you could do better." 4. ROUGH COMMUNICATION I tried to tell the mover to handle my stuff with care during the move, asking him to wrap my piano, computer and glass, and be cautious with the stuff on top of other items, but the mover gave me an attitude and repeatedly said, "You think I don't know that? I am professional." I also tried to tell them that the movers mishandled my stuff and caused damage to my digital piano, and my former neighbors can testify that my piano was in good condition before the move, they said that the decision was already determined and because there's no physical damage, the claim was already dismissed. They just ignored my complaint about the mishandling. I WILL NOT USE RABBIT AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. BEWARE PRICE WON'T BE WHAT WAS QUOTED!! Johnny supposedly gave me a quote but when I spoke to him the day of the move, he stated he had been out of the office & it was other co-workers who had given me the quote with his name on it so it wasn't his fault it was wrong. We moved to a 5th floor walkup which was disclosed. Johnny told me the quote was only for 21 steps up so they had to charge me an additional $152. How many 5th floor walk-ups are only 21 stairs??! If I didn't pay immediately, he said he would instruct his movers to leave all of my belongings on the street!! I personally tipped the movers very well because they were nice & worked hard & Johnny agreed their movers were hard workers but it is management that sucks so I should blame all the hidden charges on them. (I was also charged an add'l $156 for 2 garbage bags of bedding/towels, 8 ft. kitchen runner, small chair, faux plant, small ironing board & 3 tier small shoe rack, and a small box that was overage to the initial quote. I only used one wardrobe box not 2 so $156 seemed excessive as well. Overall, my move cost over $300 more than the initial quote. *Please note below the two emails I received as a response shortly after this review. Probably be careful with your card information. Company broke contract on moving due date - took over 20 days of calling and hounding them. Service Level Agreement they told us was in 10 days or less. They broke a ton of items, opened boxes and poorly repackaged them, causing wet damage of dry property, and then left items behind so they're missing/lost. Did a chargeback for a % of the amount and the card company agreed that they broke the service level agreement. They've been illegally charging my cards ever since (now for amounts above the original price quoted price - only charged back a % now they're taking the original full amount on top of the % I didn't charge back). Wanted to leave it alone with just the % charge back but they're still charging cards, months after the bank agreed they were in the wrong. So I will probably contact consumer protection as I've been advised that this is actually illegal for them to process card information like that. Edit: The items were paid to be moved at the start of the month and didn't arrive until near the 30th so it went well past 10 business days which is why the card company ruled in our favor. There was also no correspondence about the following unauthorized charge attempts. Only after the companies flagged them for fraud did we even know you were doing that. When first caught I decided not to have the card company flag for fraud just to put this behind me. TLDR; Do not use this company unless you want to be charged hundreds of dollars extra on the day of your move for items you did not actually bring. For the record, this is the first review I have ever left on Yelp, and I am only writing it because my experience with this company and CEO (who I have only interacted with via email) were so unpleasant. I strongly urge anyone reading this to seek out another company for their move. I have moved many times before this, with many companies, and this one was by far the worst. I would even go so far as to say that they are dishonest. To be clear, though, I had no issues with the actual movers, who were professional and efficient, and my property was moved from location A to B with only minor, to-be-expected scuffing. So why is this company bad? First, unlike other moving companies, they do not care at all about what the actual volume of your stuff is. For example, let's say you tell them you will be moving 1 small box, and in their system they estimate that 1 small box is about 1 cubic feet (cf from now on). Well, they do not care if you show up on moving day with two extremely small boxes, the volume of which is actually far less than 1 cf. You will be charged extra. A lot extra. Of course, when I contracted them I did not know this. Prior to my move, I was told over the phone the dimensions of what constituted a small, medium, and large box in their eyes. I then counted up my boxes and estimated, based on the dimensions they gave, what the number of large/medium/small boxes would be. I then added about 10 extra boxes to my estimate because I assumed that if I actually moved with fewer items, and with less volume, that I would be charged less. This was a mistake. I was actually charged hundreds of dollars more. Why? Because although I counted volumes, they do not actually care about volumes. They care about the number of boxes. And then they round up your box dimensions to whatever their system thinks that size box should be. On moving day, I had pared down from large to small boxes. In other words I had 10 fewer large boxes and about 25 small boxes more than I estimated (and keep in mind these "small boxes" were way below the estimated dimensions they told me for "small boxes" ). So, although the total volume of my final move was quite a bit less than the original estimate, they ended up charging me hundreds of dollars more. Of course, it was too late to hire someone else. The moving team from this company demonstrated commendable professionalism and dedication. Their hard work and efficiency were truly exemplary, which we deeply appreciate. Unfortunately, we've experienced a disappointing side to this organization during an unfortunate incident. A few of our belongings were unintentionally left behind in the freight elevator, which was corroborated by our building management. We were unable to recover these items despite our best efforts. We contacted the company, expecting that a well-established and insured moving service would provide necessary assistance in such circumstances. We meticulously submitted a detailed description of the incident and a list of the lost items. Regrettably, the response from the CEO felt dismissive and suggested a lack of thorough investigation into our situation. We were advised to file a police report for the missing items and were offered a sum of $50, which we respectfully declined, hoping for a fair resolution. Given these circumstances, we decided to file a claim with the BBB. Since submitting this claim, however, we've been met with a series of taunting emails from the CEO, which seem more like retaliation than any genuine attempt to address our concerns. This behavior is not only distressing but also deeply unprofessional. In challenging times such as these, it's how businesses manage mishaps that truly show their commitment to customer service. We believe that prospective customers should be aware of this aspect of the company's approach. In conclusion, while the moving crew performed their tasks admirably, the subsequent customer service experience and behavior of the CEO has unfortunately marred our overall impression of the company. My contact was Joelle who answered every question and made sure that both buildings had their COI on file which is a must in most NYC buildings. Joelle always kept us in the loop which is great during the moving process. Rabbit's website to prepare for the move is excellent with graphics of most furniture, listed by rooms, to select. Price comes up after that. Simple. Movers were great and well prepared. Nothing lost and no damage to items. I wish everything in my life were THIS easy! I wish I could give Rabbit Movers a 10 star review, but a 5 will have to do. We had a complicated move and needed a moving company on short notice. It was a Friday and must move on the following Wednesday. I found Rabbit Movers by doing a google search. I called and spoke to Johnny. He was calm, reassuring on the phone, explained everything in detail, took the time I needed to ask questions and did not rush me off the phone. Our move consisted of a three location pickup, 40 boxes/shelves at the Financial District, 2. 50 boxes, furniture and art, East Village apt and the third 3., the whole contents of a storage unit located at Inwood, upper Manhattan. (We forgotten what was exactly in the storage unit, "no problem", Johnny asked for the dimensions of the unit and we assumed it was full.) Our belongings were to be driven over a hundred miles to upstate NY. Johnny gave me a quote immediately and it was the same amount my partner was given by another company for a one location move a week earlier. Before 4pm on Friday we paid the 10% and had Rabbit's insurance info emailed to our office and residential building's management. The move was on! Steve and his crew showed up on time Wednesday, friendly, professional with a great attitude. They handled our stuff with care and the move was completed while it was still daylight out. I hope they were happy with their well earned tip. Let me conclude by telling you, I booked this on the phone from another state, while my partner packed in the City and our adult Daughter waited their arrival upstate. Things could not have gone smoother. As I write this review Rabbit Movers contacted me to follow up, thank us and to see if we were satisfied with the service. They canceled on me the day before my scheduled move in and when i called on the phone, their CEO yelled at me, insulted me, and was all around incredibly rude and unprofessional. Beware!!! So so so bad. Here are just the highlights: They packed my one bedroom apartment 1 day and moved me the next. Though they knew how much stuff I had they came with a truck that was too small. They took 5.5 hours to load up the truck - with a reserved elevator - and couldn't fit everything in. Also discovered later that they left stuff in the hallway of the building..... When we arrived at the new building they complained about the elevators and the doormen and the building rules and how much stuff I had.... And when I started unpacking I discovered they only packed boxes half full - because they charge by the box? Because they didn't want to carry heavy boxes ? - and there was lots of.breakage. Horrible experience. All of my furniture is damaged. Movers abandoned the job and left my furniture on the street. Your drivers/ movers were high on drugs when they showed up. There was a list of specific list of furniture and exactly where it had to go. In addition to breaking and damaging all the furniture. It was left on the street. You're drivers never communicated they were leaving and ran off. There are witnesses to both the drug use and the abandoning of the job. In addition to the fact I was charged and additional fee to move one particular piece of furniture that your team of driver's/movers left. Your team was completely ill-prepared. I was crystal clear about the number of pieces of Furniture and even provided the weight and did not exceed them in any way and even sent a picture in advance. Your company sent a Van and not a moving truck. Making it impossible to move all the items in one trip safely. They did not have enough tape or blankets to cover the Mirrored furniture and the glass pieces which I mentioned several times when listing my furniture with your rep on the phone. In fact they were even taking cardboard boxes from me and cutting them trying to cover the furniture. Since there were multiple chunks of marble missing out of a small round table I can only assume it was rolled on the ground. They were so ill-equipped for the job. After calling several times to express my concern over their ability To Do the job I was told to address it with them directly and they would call if they needed help, they had already run away and abandon the job so that was impossible. And then you stop taking my calls. But as I am sitting here now with my broken furniture in my apartment. It absolutely was possible to move it into the location. Alex and Benny were great--un-phased by the many boxes I had in addition to the 30 I had included in my estimate. Alex patiently counted what I had and fairly reported it to Rabbit to get me a new quote, which all worked out. Alex and Benny were very careful with my things--they tried multiple times to move my dining room table with all legs still on, before resorting to unscrewing two of them (with my approval first). I appreciated Alex's attempts, and he restored the legs perfectly once it was in my new place. Finally, very efficient! Overall Rabbit movers was very communicative and clear on their practices. All of my emailed questions were answered within 24 hrs, and all the charges were clear. If I could change one thing I'd make it easier to adjust what you've got to move. I plugged in a slap dash estimate in order to get the free quote, but that was a very different amount than the total once I got to packing. I changed my estimate once by directly emailing, but being able to edit the possessions I'd estimated would have been more efficient than multiple email exchanges. read more

Do not use for business moves. Owner is unprofessional and has major anger management issues. He yelled multiple profanities at me over the phone unexpectedly when I was just trying to be polite. Cancelled our job the day before and refuses to refund us even though they did not fulfill the job. We will be filing a dispute to get our money back. If you ever need movers in Manhattan don't use these guys. Use NY Minute Messengers. They charged less and did an amazing job and got us our COI's the same day. read more
