Who likes to move? Mostly no one, but me, I have moved 4 times in 3.5 years (don't ask) - and this last move I made was done by RaBBIT Movers, Liam's team. I moved around the corner from my old place, and we were done in about 3.5 hours - I also moved to a smaller place and took most of my stuff. All of the other positive reviewers here said the same things I will say: punctual, friendly, laid back, fair on the clock - they praised my packing and organizing skills - and the price was totally right - because I moved before the 27th of the month, their charge was $130 an hour, with discount for cash - Yes there was a scratch or two, and yes some of the kitchen boxes ended up in the living room, but overall I would hire them again - I have an oversized, custom couch, and the folks at Rabbit recommended an 'upholstery doctor' who, for a fee, will take your couch apart (!yes!) move it, and put it back together good as, or better than,. new. They were also amazing, and considering what my couch originally cost, completely worth their (pretty reasonable) fee. So guess what - I have been in my apartment for 5 weeks, and -oops- bought a house in Albany - so will be on the move again before Christmas...anyone got any good boxes/packing material? read more

For my third move in New York, I was fortunate enough to find a Living Social deal for 1/2 off two hours about 2 weeks before I was slated to move. Great timing. They called ahead to ask if they could come a little early, which was great for me, because I was just waiting for them. When they showed up, I was surprised when I let them in - I think I told them they were the coolest looking movers I'd ever seen. They were even very helpful with the furniture I was still taking apart when they got there. One of the movers (Rio) started singing Christmas songs while working. It was one of those beautiful New York moments I had to tweet about. They wrapped all my stuff in blanket and plastic, it took them less time than they estimated, they helped me put back together my heavy furniture before they left, and were completely delightful the whole time. Very personable, nice guys. I'd recommend Rabbit movers to anyone who has to move. read more

They were INCREDIBLE. We've had a lot of bad experiences with moving by ourselves in New York, but we were worried about movers being worth the cost. After our experience with Rabbit Movers, we'll never go without them again. When they arrived, they immediately introduced themselves to us and were eager to get started. We did ahead of time use a third party bin rental service, and the five guys that showed up made quick work of getting those thirty bins out of our apartment like it was nothing. We also still had some work to do getting one of the bedrooms ready and packed up, and they were happy to work on the other rooms while we did that. Overall, moving our three-bedroom apartment took a little over two hours door to door. We are SO grateful to Rabbit Movers and how stress-free they made our move. Highly, highly recommend! read more

DO NOT USE I'm so upset! I hired this company for my move bc they are supposed to be great. they sure charge like they're great. it was $700 + tip for a move of my tiny 1 bed rm 20 min away. took them all of 2.5 hrs. they ask when filling out the move list if you have anything that needs special care. I have a $2000 vintage mid-century credenza and a $500 vintage midcentuary chair along w other vintage pieces from the 50s & 60s. they managed to completely ruin one of my pieces by breaking off a wheel. and my $2k credenza... they bashed in the front. while they were moving I asked them over and over to please be careful and I even bubble wrapped pieces bc the movers said 'no need'. when I pointed out the damage all I got was a shrug and 1/2assed 'sorry'. when I realized the wheel had broken off I called (abt 20 min after movers left) and again got nothing more than 'sorry, nothing we can do' so now not only is my day ruined, but 1/2 my furniture is too. The Rabbit movers/artists arrived promptly and set to work. My home studio includes a 300-plus pound printing press. Not an issue! Throughout the day, in both my old and new spaces, I was amazed at their problem -solving, from the internal spring mechanism of a 19th century bed, and other complicated furniture. efficient and always good himored, the Rabbit team completed the job swiftly and carefully. My fiance and I hired Rabbit Movers to move us from Queens to Philadelphia. Our team of four, led by Jeff, showed up on time and got right to work. They were organized and efficient, unpacking our one bedroom apartment in about an hour and a half. They arrived in Philadelphia shortly after we did. The team handled our tricky one-way street without any difficulty. It took another hour or so to unload our belongings with absolutely nothing damaged. All in all, Rabbit Movers made what had the potential to be an extremely stressful day, entirely devoid of stress. read more

I had a great experience moving from Manhattan to Queens. The moving crew was extremely quick, efficient, and professional. They moved out all of my stuff (a full bedroom plus 20 or so boxes and some odds and ends) in less than an hour. The move in was even shorter. The price was also reasonable. The office team at Rabbit Movers were incredibly helpful, organizing my move with less than 24 hours' notice after another mover cancelled on me, making a special effort to get me a morning time slot when availability was limited. (I had initially booked Rabbit and then cancelled them when I got a cheaper offer, so I especially appreciated that they made space for me again.) The movers themselves were pleasant and very fast, and they also gave me a call to give me a clear ETA even though they had a one-hour window. Four stars because I think they were a little expensive - $290 seemed a bit pricey for a move of just a mile that only involved two pieces of furniture and seven bags/boxes. But in light of their kindness and reliability, I don't mind having paid a bit more for the peace of mind that Rabbit Movers provided. read more

This review is late but nothing about Rabbit Movers is. When it was snowing in NYC every other day my company was in the middle of moving from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Sean, Joshua and Brandon showed up and were amazing. Not a single complaint about the snow, the weather, the stairs, the weight of some of our heavy stuff, etc...I could go on and on but you get the idea. I called up, told rabbit movers what we had, changed a few things the day before which adjusted the quote and all was set in stone! WONDERFUL movers. They are the tops! The day we moved was a Sunday 9AM, raining non stop and windy. The guys had the nicest, most positive personalities, and did the move expertly. Our 4 flights of stairs were not easy; they did them with a great sense of humor. They got our stuff from Brooklyn and up to the Bronx very fast, then set us up at our new house just as quickly and efficiently. This one guy named Wendell was super nice and you could tell he wanted to do a good job. I would have given five stars, but one of the movers was slacking off and not working. I just moved for my second time with Rabbit and am very happy with their consistency. They were a little late (which was sort of expected b/c i was the last appointment of the day) but they called me during the day to let me know so that I could adjust my schedule accordingly - which i thought was really considerate of my time and general stress levels. They were very friendly, very professional and when things wouldn't fit out my door I knew they did everything they could to try. I've used Rabbit several times moving in Manhattan over the last 8 years and it has progressively gotten worse to the point I would not use them again. During our last move they damaged several pieces of furniture and were generally reckless with our boxes - dropping them or throwing them up to the van. I walked into a room to see one of them had opened a taped box so he could flip through our comic book collection! I'd recommend trying someone else - they aren't the same as they use to be. read more

Moving is miserable, Rabbit makes it less so. I am very satisfied with the services that Rabbit provided me. I was impressed with how quickly they loaded the truck. The movers they sent to do the job were MACHINES when it came to carrying my admittedly heavy and fragile belongings down five flights of stairs to the truck. I had most of my stuff packed and ready to move, but some of my belongings needed some extra padding which Rabbit provided in the form of moving blankets which they carefully ensconced my stuff in. The movers also showed tenacity that I felt was above and beyond what was required in getting my extra large couch out of my extra small door. As fast as they were loading the truck they were even FASTER unloading it. This was a good thing because the truck was over an hour late, and the movers took a while getting from my From address to my To address. The delay could have been an issue because I had reserved the elevator at my To address for my move with someone else occupying the slot directly behind me and as it happened the truck showed up just as my slot was ending and my neighbor's was beginning. But as it turns out my neighbor's movers weren't on time. Go figure. During the move there was an incident where Rabbit was well within their contractual obligations to leave me high and dry, but they did not. They demonstrated a dedication to customer service that impressed me to the point where I will gladly recommend them to any of my friends, and I fully intend to move with them again. Long and short, it was a great move that Rabbit performed for a full HALF of what Flatrate quoted me. There were issues with the move, but Rabbit more than made up for it with customer service. read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews, but the move that I hired Rabbit Movers to do for me was SO GOOD that I feel inclined - I like to reward amazing service. Moving is always incredibly stressful and the prior time we moved the movers broke our couch and misplaced some art. We decided to go w/ Rabbit because of word of mouth reference about their effort and professionalism. Nick, Dylan, and Danny of Rabbit Movers moved me, my wife, dog, and cat from our packed and cramped place in Williamsburg to Park Slope. THEY WERE AMAZING. They handled stair carry's and all the unforeseen little things with absolute grace and professionalism. They even defied the laws of physics in getting our couch to fit through the front door - a process that took them about 45 minutes and involved taking the front door off the hinges and the feet off the couch - all of which they put perfectly back in place. Cannot speak highly enough about Rabbit Movers - and specifically the crew of Nick, Dylan, and Danny. While I thankfully don't plan on moving any time soon, if I do, I will unquestionably have Rabbit Movers handle the process for me again. read more

I had a very good experience using Rabbit Moving to move out of my apartment. The building had some very strict and antiquated requirements and many streets were blocked because of events happening nearby, but the movers and staff both did a great job remaining very patient and dealing with the challenges as they presented themselves. Henry and Glen did a great job disassembling and removing everything from the apartment. They were careful and methodical, but also moved at a good pace and did a thorough job. I just finished moving into my new home and I used Rabbit movers to do it. Making a reservation couldn't have been easier. I called the day before (in the afternoon no less) and they happily accommodated me for the following day. I got to the storage unit (pick-up point) and Matthew Palmer (one of the movers) was there to meet me, which means he was at least 15 minutes early. We began loading things onto carts that the storage unit place had provided. The moving van was running late. It ended up being about a half hour late in the end as the driver was a little lost. In all fairness the storage unit is a little hard to find. Before the van even got there however, I was told that all of the "travel time" for the move would be comped. I thought this was a very nice gesture. Sure, I guess I would expect some manner of compensation at some point, but it really set my mind at ease to be told right up front the travel would all be free. When the van showed up, the second mover, Blair G couldn't have been nicer. She was very apologetic for her tardiness (which in actual fact did not delay me very much at all) and both the movers were extremely fast and professional. They packed up the van in a heartbeat and since this company solely employs artists (singers, actors e.t.c...) the whole staff is extremely personable and easy to talk to. Our movers drove the van to my place very quickly (no messing about to run up the clock) and moved me in even quicker than they packed me up. I would recommend this company to anyone based on my experience with Matt and Blair today. I simply couldn't imagine a better move! read more

I just moved from Astoria to Roosevelt Island. Rabbit Movers came recommended to me by 3 different people so I figured I'd give them a shot. I requested a quote on their website and then someone reached out to me shortly afterwards to give me a quote. The quote was ~$100 cheaper than the other moving company I spoke to (Oz) so I decided to give it a shot. Two days before the move, they called to confirm the details. Today was move day. I had a team of two movers- Reggie and Nick Taylor. They were super friendly, funny and courteous. They quickly got to work moving my stuff out and taking care to protect the more fragile items that I had such as my mirror and my cheap Ikea particle board furniture. Upon arriving at the destination, they quickly moved everything in, asking me where I wanted everything before the put it down. In total, the whole move took only a little over 2 hours and completely painless. Reggie and Nick were fantastic. I now know what company I will use to move next time :) read more

This was my first time hiring a moving company instead of trying to do it all myself and I was very happy I went with Rabbit. Jack & Ito(?) were very careful with my furniture and electronics and yet still were able to get through moving around 25 boxes, my bed frame, my bed, a dresser, a futon frame, a tv table, etc so so so much quicker than I would have been able. Would recommend to anyone doing a medium-size apartment to apartment move as I still qualified for the flat rate price and I definitely would have injured myself moving all that they did in a single day. read more

We scheduled a move with them and the movers arrived late, the management company conveniently was not available to answer calls - making us very anxious, and the movers took a very long time traveling between destinations (the time was charged). We were VERY disappointed. next time i am going with a different company and a flat fee. --- UPDATE --- I received a prompt reply from Rabbit Movers regarding my concerns! The woman was courteous and worked to address the issues I highlighted above. I *hate* moving. Everything about it is stressful, and I'm past the point in my life where I'm going to ask friends to help in exchange for beer and pizza. I can't imagine a better experience moving out of my apartment. First of all, the company was so helpful and communicative. I talked to someone named Bunny throughout the whole experience and she guided me through the process, and was so friendly! Jason Simms and Mike did the actual move. They were also so communicative and friendly. They moved me out of a 4th floor apartment, no elevator, no AC, and the narrowest hallways you've ever seen. They were so helpful and so easy going. Just an update. Rabbit requested 2 different conf calls of my time during work hours to rehash the whole terrible experience AND offer me money to delete this review. I talked with someone in the office and THEN their insurance claims person. I wasn't totally comfortable being paid to take down the review, but since someone pointed out to me people's jobs depends on these reviews, I said I'd consider it if she sent me the paperwork to review. She said she'd send it that day - and of course, two weeks later, no paperwork, no follow up, nothing. Just wasted more of my time. I really feel conflicted here, because I am very pro small business...but rabbit is simply not good at what they do and I feel, is purposely misleading and deceptive. For starters, you deal with outsourced movers, not the company. So everything is caught up in bureaucracy and confusing. Our movers showed up in a rented truck with graffiti and we're only staffed at half the levels promised to us. While they tried their best, they had no idea what they were doing and were openly overwhelmed with the packing (even though we went through a detailed video call with rabbit before hand). I would also add, I'm not scrooge mcduck, I live in a 2 bedroom apartment AND didn't move out furniture - it was on the easier side of moves. While we paid for a full pack and unpack, the movers said they would only pack. When we talked to rabbit about it, they told us to pay more money (even though we had a written agreement specifying unpacking) or they would advise the movers to simply walk off the job. That was outright extortion and honestly the sort of nightmare move scenario you hope you are avoiding by hiring a professional. So we paid. All and all, our move cost had doubled from the agreed upon rate. As if that was not bad enough, multiple objects were destroyed in the move and the unpacking was horrendous - think toothpaste, sneakers, and bathrobes shoved into kitchen drawers. The pacing of the move was also so slow that not only did myself and my wife have to join in on the pack and unpack, but I was literally working out the truck moving boxes. Please do not use these people. They will lie and extort. They also trample on the good intentions we all have in supporting small business and drive folks to the corporate behemoths we want to avoid (I know I'm traumatized enough to return to flat rate for all future moves) read more

Definitely the best move experience I've had. They were awesome guys, no complaints, even though some of our stuff was less than ideally packed, they came in and started grabbing stuff immediately and were careful and gentle without us needing to ask. They were super friendly and polite, we joked around a lot during the move. Discussed all manner of things from old movies, to messed up tv shows, to old computers. In the end it cost us less than they had estimated. Plus, I didn't have that same disgusting feeling about paying these guys, they earned it and then some! God forbid I have to move anytime soon, I wouldn't hesitate to call the awesome cats at Rabbit Movers again! Use them! read more

After calling FlatRate, NYCityVan, Moishe's, and god knows who else only to find that everyone was booked up on June 30th, I called Rabbit Movers after reading good reviews about them on Yelp. I'm so glad that I went with them -- they truly demonstrated that they are a class act and are interested in running an honest company. Although I don't think they are the cheapest company, I still think they are a good deal and are worth every penny. I had 4 guys and a 16' truck for $150/hour. They moved my 2 bedroom apartment from Harlem to Chelsea in about 4.5 hours. This included wrapping up all my furniture so that it would be protected as it was moved. Another sign of their professionalism was how they handled a leg of my couch that broke during the move. They assumed full responsibility for the broken part and had it replaced within a few days. I was really impressed! I definitely recommend Rabbit Movers -- they were fast, professional, and friendly. What more could you ask for? read more

Shawn also indicated that he took our concerns very seriously, and had communicated them to all of his employees.
