My husband and I decided to go here due to my love for Alice in Wonderland. I am a bartender as well and I am extremely disappointed. The drinks were $17 for something my husband had to pinch his nose and chug to finish, because I couldn't. The bartenders and the security guard were decent but the manager (i'm assuming he was the manager) was extremely rude. The hours say 2am and yet at barely passed 12:30 we were being shouted at to leave by the manager even though we had already asked for our check and were in the process of leaving because I noticed they were either pre closing or closing. He didn't shout once he shouted a few times and it ruined the whole vibe that we had. It would be one thing to approach us and say that they were closing early and that the bar next door is still staying open. But to blatantly shout when it was us and a couple other people sitting at the bar??? Made us both extremely uncomfortable and we both agree this is not an establishment we would ever come back to. Lewis Carrol would be disappointed that his work is being leeched from in this manner. read more

My go-to bar for a lit-up atmosphere and drinks. They have happy hour every day up until 9 or 10pm, I believe. I'm really fuzzy on the details all the time since I don't utilize happy hour specials there too much. I come for the liquid Nitrogen drinks and whatever concoction the bartender likes to make for me when I tell him what flavors I want. My friends seem to like this place to meet up after dinner since it's not as far as Downtown and there's plenty of parking so we can chill here for hours and not worry about driving back in a rush. It does get packed here on a Friday and Saturday night (obviously), so you'll have to come a bit earlier for happy hour and just lounge around with your drink. It starts to empty out more about an hour after happy hour ends. They have also given me drinks on the house sometimes, which is nice. Their liquid N drinks are pricey because they are made with liquid nitrogen..... but otherwise, everything (shots, well drinks, beer on tap) is okay and I prefer it over 38 Ale House, even if they don't serve food here. read more

Cool music and fancy drinks. Bartenders are great. This spot was more of a hipster like bar with fancy style drinks. I'm a beer girl and they had a small variety of beers. The music was good and the seating was cool. Kinda pricey but you get good quality drinks. read more

With Rabbit Hole being one of the few places in the SGV that has a sophisticated cocktail menu, a couple of friends and I headed here on a Saturday evening. The bar is a bit on the small side and had a DJ pumping music on in the front section of the bar. There were 2-3 bartenders and limited seating. Rabbit Hole is probably not a great place to go to if you have a large group. I ordered a order off the specials menu and thought it wasn't strong enough and was very fruity. The penicillin I ordered for my second drink was decent. I guess if you're looking for a bar that does crafted cocktails, Rabbit Hole is an okay choice. read more

This place was a gem on a Friday night out! Me and my bf stumbled on Rabbit Hole after dumplings to get some drinks. Let me tell you, their Violet Passion drink was to die for, very well made. Love that there is a cute Alice in Wonderland themed bar right in Alhambra. I usually come early so I never encountered a wait or a line to get in. I recommend getting their special cocktails if you want to try something different. My current favorites are the Black Dahlia and the Sailor Moon. The Sailor Moon drink is pretty sweet. The special cocktails can range from $12-$15 depending on the drink. They do have a great happy hour from 8 - 10 pm for $5 well drinks! This is a small lounge, so there's nowhere to really hang out if all the seats are taken. Wish there were more seating, especially if there are larger parties. read more

Here's a hidden gem - especially if you're not from the area and think Alhambra has nothing to do. The Rabbit Hole (and this short block of restaurants) is hopping! No pun intended. Drinks are great, vibe is cool, theme is awesome! A little different type of group than Glendale/Burbank area, but not so far off. It's funny you can tell it's not an LA hot spot but more of a San Gabriel hot spot. That being said, it is a hot spot and if I lived in the area I'd be in this hole a whole lot! Came here on a Friday night and there was a good amount of people. Ordered the Kentucky smash and LOVED it. My type of cocktail, very refreshing and not too sweet. However, $13 a drink is a little steep for Alhambra (in my opinion). I would have to say that they could utilize the space more. The front end of the bar was lacking and not enough tables.. not sure if it's because they turn it into a dance floor? Didn't stay long enough to find out. Thought they could also have some tables for the seats along the wall that's next to the bar.. otherwise you'd be holding your drink the whole time and going to the bar to set your empty glass. read more

Before Covid, this was our go to spot to end the night when we would go to Main street to bar hop. We would always order a Dragons Breath with an awesome bartender who unfortunately no longer works there. I believe her name was Stephanie. For reference, she was the spitting image of Christy Mack. If you don't know who that is, look her up, but I digress. They now have a blonde bartender with no "assets" who thinks cheap yoga pants are suitable for work. The first time we tried to order a Dragons Breath, she had no idea how to make it. Fine, we assumed it was her first time. After looking at the menu to see how to make it, she begrudgingly prepared them. Lets just say my 12 year old could have made it better. Again, we assumed it was her first time. We go the following week and order it again, she still doesn't know how to make it and tries to say she doesn't have any butane for the fire portion of the drink. She goes to the back and comes back annoyed and starts on the drink. This time I take a close look to make sure she does it right since it didnt taste right the last time. When its time to spray the butane to cause the "fireball" effect, she sprays the gas directly into our drinks. Thats why the drink taste horrible! She was literally poisoning us!!! Even after all that, we tried to go one last time last night. We figured she doesn't care enough about her job to ask a qualified bartender to teach her how to prepare the drink correctly, so we attempted to order a simple Jack and Coke. We can see that she's in a bad mood the moment we walk in. We ask for the drinks and she rudely says, "I already threw out the ice so I'm only doing shots and beer". It was barely midnight! I totally dig this Alice in Wonderland themed bar, starting with the sign outside and continuing with the books hanging from the ceiling, the slanted cups, and the picture frames on the wall with the Queen of Hearts, Cheshire Cat, and other not-so-subtle references. The first time I went was a couple years ago, and I remember really liking their fruity delicious Mad Hatter cocktail, but alas, this time they didn't have it in season, and the bartenders were new, so they couldn't remember what ingredients went inside. However, my friend and I tried their new seasonal menu items, a Prickly Punch and a Kiwi Cooler. The Kiwi Cooler was a rum based fruity cocktail served with (you guessed it) kiwi syrup along with bitters on a slanted cup to test your sober level. The Prickly Punch was a gin based fruity cocktail served with strawberry and kiwi syrup and packed with a ton of ice. Both tasted quite fruitiylicious and good, and I could tell the bartender used a lot of effort to decorate and garnish the cocktails. It was a busy Friday night at 11pm when I came this time, much more crowded than last time. There was at least one birthday party going on from what I noticed, so drinks were taking 15 minutes to come out due to the low staff numbers, but it was enjoyable watching the bartenders do their adult Alice in Wonderland Through the Looking Glass cocktail making magic. Drinks are on the more expensive end, averaging $13 per cocktail, so if you want something cheaper, I would reccomend coming early during their happy hour from 8-10pm on most nights in which beers and well drinks are $4. read more

She said "I don't have time to make it the way you want it." She gave me 2 slices of oranges and crushed ice along with the whiskey.. She charged me the same amount as a regular one... Wow. Amazing. Boss was nice, bartenders were nice, service A1. Such a spot that could be easily missed but the theme was dope. Everything sorta upside down. Music were great, RnB throwbacks were played on 06/12/20. We came here around 8PM, we were waiting for food across the streets but we got stuck here til 10 because drinks were too good. In one word: underwhelming. Not what you'd expect from the pictures and website. The only cool thing was the "upside-down" look and the dragon's breath drink, which they light on fire with a blowtorch before serving you. Also, they claim to have a strict dress code, so my friends and I got all dressed up, but there were people there in gym attire (yoga pants, sweatshirts, etc.), which the website specifically says you can't wear. If you're bar-hopping in the area, it'd be a cool spot to swing into for a quick drink, but don't go out of your way to visit. read more

The Alice in Wonderland theme is a such a fun concept, but they could have done so much more with the decorations. The music was way too loud. It felt more like a club. Some people ended up dancing. I'm giving it 3 stars because the bartenders were fantastic. They were very attentive, particularly when someone dropped their glass. The bartenders took care of the broken glass immediately. Who doesn't like Alice in Wonderland? The thought of falling into a hidden hole and entering a distorted realm that you did not know existed. The Rabbit Hole captured this concept very well. This is a chic bar with tons of peculiar décor to fit the Wonderland theme. As you walk in, you will notice that the ceiling has fake grass, flowers, and a couple of bunny rabbits. The walls were decorated with mirrors, paintings, and a vibrant Cheshire mural. I did have a few drinks prior to my arrival, so all of this may have been a figment of my imagination. We sat at the bar and the bartender notified us that happy hour is about to end in 4 minutes (10:00pm Thursday). The beers and well-drinks were $4 She got two stone IPA's and I got two Avery Heff's; both off of the tap. 4 minutes to drink 4 drinks at $4 each -- trippy right? The ambience and noise level was very calm here. There was EDM spinning when we first arrived. My girlfriend wanted to dance to 80's music so she politely asked the white boy to play that funky music. Overall, this place is a 5 in my book because it excelled in all key components of a great bar: Good drinks, good prices, good music, good atmosphere, and great service. Thanks, Rabbit Hole! So my buddy Neil and our other buddy Jackie tried to come here a few weeks ago and they found out that this joint is closed on Sundays! Surprise! So Neil was telling me about it while we were doing the Hollywood Sign hike on Independence Day. Neither of us had plans for that night so we both said screw it lets go grab a few drinks there to celebrate. It turned into a great decision. Well except that this place doesn't even open until 8pm. That was a stunner as well. Talk about a rabbit hole, there is a surprise around every bend. Pro Tip: Park in the free Alhambra parking lots off of First street... Happy hour commences upon opening at 8pm and ends approximately at 10pm. $3 drafts (all of them) and $4 well drinks. Jokes comments and laughs are free and plentiful it seemed for most of the night. Carly was an awesome bartendress who was rocken that stage even with another bartender who kept disappearing. The barback was also helping with a number of things as well. This place was hopping as time went on. A DJ set up around 9:30-10 and was spinning with a video link showing videos on the twin TVs over the bar. The couches and the bar stools both were chill and had a number of patrons in them. Overall this place really seemed the right kind of place to chill for a weeknight couple of drinks with friends to relax chat and unwind in. We are planning on going back with Jackie and Anna and anyone else who wants to come and join us soon. read more
