Great experience. Five course "menu-less" tasting dinner. The chefs David and Justin created a fantastic meal that is served in an intimate yet edgy old home converted into a great restaurant. Well done. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful meal with Chefs Ross & Justin. Our 2nd time and we will be back every time we are in Charleston.

This is a week late, but I always have to give this place all the love and praise! If I ever became rich I'd eat here almost every night!!! No but seriously! The energy is so fun, the drinks are constantly being poured and the food is out of this world!!!! Run, down walk.... Oh and go ahead of your rese cause you will need one and go next door and grab a beer from The garden by Charles Towne Fermatory!

I wasn't really sure what to expect. This was excellent. The chefs were fun and friendly and the food was outstanding. Casual atmosphere (which is fun!) I honestly am not sure if I can pick a favorite I ate. I'll never eat these Brussels sprouts again, and I'm sad about it. Honestly one of the best meals I've had in a while. Thank-you for the lovely meal. If you're not sure, I recommend you go. I'll definitely try to go again when I'm back in town.

I've wanted to try R Kitchen since I moved to CHS 4 years ago, but their unique reservation process just never lined up with special occasions to make it over that way. Recently, family was visiting with a wide-open schedule, and it worked out. I texted the number on their website, and they worked with me to reserve the right time and location. Super easy. They also asked about dietary constraints and said they'd try to work around any. We showed up early for our reservation, and pattered around the parking lot. Doors opened promptly at 6, and the staff was super welcoming as we sat down. We had some great conversations and enjoyed looking at the eclectic decor. Overall, the experience was great and I'd like to try it again. I loved hearing how the chefs developed the menu, and 2 of the 5 courses were absolutely top notch. 1 was pretty good. The other 2 courses were something I could make at home with minimal effort, so I was disappointed. They were good, but nothing special in terms of uniqueness and flavor. The chefs were awesome to talk to, and I would recommend this experience at least once to all Charlestonians.

What a lovely experience!! A hidden gem, easily passed by but you should definitely seek this restaurant out if you love food and surprises. The concept is fascinating as you don't know the menu ahead of time and the chefs are available to chat and answer all of your foodie questions. There are about ten rotating chefs, three each seating who create and develop their own courses while collaborating with the other chefs and their courses. So much fun guessing the ingredients, tasting each one that was carefully selected, and then trying them combined to see how the chef wanted to pair all of those flavor profiles. I truly enjoyed the chefs company and how eager they were to answer questions. You could clearly see their passion for food and people. Even if you aren't adventurous and apprehensive about not knowing the menu, it seems they keep it pretty palette friendly. They also account for food allergies and have substitutions at the ready. I highly recommend R Kitchen, even more so than restaurants by the likes of Brock or Lata. This is better priced, an interactive, fun experience and well thought out, delicious food.

Very interesting concept here but so glad we experienced it!! It's not a restaurant but a kitchen! Very casual in appearance but wow!, what food. 5 course meal that changes daily based on what the 2 chefs have and what they are "feeling". First course was an outstanding truffle white cannellini soup! One of the best I have ever had! Second course was a lasagna that was both traditional but with a roasted red pepper influence! 3rd course was a chicken but had a true southern flare with kale and a very nice grits made a bit different than low country grits. 4th course was an outstanding sweet potato puree topped with arugula and some beef that was seasoned with fennel, cooked sous vide and pan seared! 5th course was a lovely chocolate cake, topped with a chantilly creme, blackberry and an outstanding carmelized pecan and brown sugar topping! This is a great concept, tasting sizes but we left full! Service outstanding Well done!! Highly recommend!!

Was an enjoyable experience. All seats are a bar top. Each serving was tasty and full of flavor.

The restaurant is nicely spread out, so even when it's busy, you don't feel crammed in or shouting over the table next to you. There are plenty of TVs and good sightlines, making it easy to stay locked into the game without feeling overwhelmed. The Eats The food holds its own for a sports pub. I've ordered the wings and a couple of burgers, and they've always been enjoyable. That said, the real MVP here is the nachos. Loaded, satisfying, and perfect for sharing -- they're easily the best thing on the menu in my opinion and my go-to order every time. The Service Service has been consistently solid. The wait staff works their sections well, greets you quickly, and gets orders in without long waits. Even during game time, things move smoothly, which makes a big difference when you're there to relax and watch the action. Parting Thoughts If you're looking for a reliable place to watch a game with good food and enough space to be comfortable, Charleston Sports Pub is a strong choice. Come for the TVs, stay for the nachos, and enjoy not feeling rushed or crowded -- that alone earns repeat visits.

The 'popper' was a large pepper that was cut in half with PIMENTO cheese spread placed in the cut half. Then they coated it in TEMPURA batter. Really. It was a mess. The batter didn't stick. It was awful to look at. I took one bite. It tasted worse. The burger was ok, but the fries were so soggy and sprinkled with some crazy southwest spice that I didn't even taste them.

Everyone just fits in, no matter if you're the black sheep! Seating is a little limited, but worth the wait. I guess the first person I ran into was a manager, he introduced himself, (legit, "Hi my name is Bryan" and shook my hand!) (Post Script, the handshake is pervasive here, literally both bartenders were introduced to me and both came up and shook my hand.) I had checked this place out from other Yelp reviews and already knew I wanted the Fish and Chips, so after my beer order, I was shocked and awed that without asking, he brought the Malt Vinegar! You know it's gonna be the bomb already! The fish arrived very quickly! Bruh...this fish was legit. A large solo iceberg of fried perfection crested upon a wave of fresh made "chips " and they were clearly fresh made, not the frozen variety. The beer batter on this fish was so good I was in heaven. I thought it might be heavy and greasy, and yet somehow it held only flavor, crunch, and absorbed my Malt Vinegar to perfection. This place is packed with regulars and it clearly seems to attract other service industries personnel. All good signs of a good time! This may have been my first visit, but won't be my last!

We were staying at the Meeting House Inn so were able to easily and leisurely walk to lunch and dinner. Service was excellent, true Southern hospitality, and the restaurant is adorable. Food was amazing, each of the four of us loved our dish and tasted each others as well: - shrimp and grits - 5/5, plentiful and plump shrimp with a flavorful sauce over creamy grits. This was not my dish so I only got a taste and next time we go back I'm going to get this for myself! - grilled salmon sald - 5*5, arugula, couscous, dried fruit, pine nuts, feta, lemon shallot vinaigrette (this dressing is so delicoius! I want the recipe!), two of us ordered this one and again, i got a bite and want to order this for myself next time (see the problem here?) The combination of flavors and textures was amazing. Rave reviews from all. - scallops or was it special flounder - 4/5, I can't even remember what I ordered and the fact that I cannot quite remember it but distinctly remember my friends' lunches means I did not order the right dish! It was solid but not something to write home about (or on Yelp about) - corn muffins - 5*5, i'm pretty sure the corn muffins came as the "bread" for the table and they were so yummy! Our server heard me rave about the not too sweet, moist yet with a nice crumb muffins, and asked if I wanted the recipe, to which I said Yes! I look forward to going back next time I'm in Charleston!

We got there just before 6 PM, and although the restaurant was pretty full, they told us they'd try to seat us outside due to our party size. That worked perfectly since they had heaters going. They quoted us a 45-minute wait, but it ended up being closer to 15 minutes -- a great surprise. The service was seriously outstanding. I have zero complaints. Everyone was so personable and attentive. For appetizers, the beef carpaccio was my favorite. For entrées, we ordered the pork chop, tuna, duck, and lamb -- and we all shared bites. Everything was delicious. My pork chop did come out a little dry, but when I mentioned it, our waitress didn't hesitate at all. She immediately took it back and insisted on bringing a new one, making me feel completely comfortable about saying something. While I waited, she brought me a complimentary soup, which was such a thoughtful touch, and the replacement came out quickly. The manager personally brought out the new dish and waited while I cut into it to make sure it was perfect. She even came back later to check again. That level of attention to detail really stood out. To top it off, they brought out dessert and a round of champagne for the table. I wasn't drinking, and they noticed -- so they brought me a mocktail without me even asking. That kind of attentiveness is rare. The inside looked beautiful, and I'd love to sit inside next time to experience the full vibe, but outside was perfect -- not too cold, not windy, and overall just a great atmosphere. Overall, one of the best service experiences I've had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Brace yourselves--this is going to be a long one, because this experience deserves every bit of it…read more We recently had the opportunity to do a chef's tasting at Honeysuckle Rose, and from the very first interaction, it was clear this wasn't going to be your average night out. We had a bit of a hiccup to start--we couldn't find our gift card (of course). I called and spoke with Kelleanne, and I have to say, this is truly where the experience began. She was warm, understanding, and genuinely funny, turning what could have been a stressful moment into something easy and even enjoyable. She handled everything with kindness and grace, and it set the tone for the evening ahead. A couple of days before our reservation, we received a confirmation call from James--but not the typical kind. He asked thoughtful, personal questions: who my guest would be, our water preferences (yes, really), allergies, absolute no-go foods, and even a song that held meaning to us. At that point, our curiosity was fully piqued. When we arrived, the space immediately stands out. It's very dark--blacked-out windows, black walls, black ceiling--and it's all completely intentional. Before the meal began, Kelleanne explained that the goal is to create an intimate dinner party atmosphere, where you forget the outside world and fully immerse yourself in the experience. And it works. It really works. At your seat, you're given what feels like an invitation--that's your menu for the evening. Each course is introduced by chef River and sommelier Mary Kate, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to every dish. I won't go course-by-course (we'd be here all night), but just know: every single one was worthy of praise. Chef River is absolutely crushing it. We were lucky enough to sit at the chef's counter, which I highly recommend if you can swing it. Watching chefs River, Ryan, and Trae work was like witnessing a perfectly choreographed performance. After each course, every surface was meticulously cleaned--counters wiped, stoves reset--everything returned to pristine condition before the next dish began. It was as impressive as the food itself. And it doesn't stop there. You notice Cody in the back, carefully polishing each glass and plate to perfection. Every single person on the team is fully invested in making this an extraordinary experience--and that's exactly what it is. What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail and the personal touches. Maybe you get an extra bite, a meaningful story from Mary Kate, or a surprise dessert to celebrate something special. There's an element of the unexpected that makes the evening feel uniquely yours. We left completely blown away. Not just by the food, but by the people. Kelleanne and Ryan are the kind of individuals you genuinely enjoy watching succeed--they bring something special to the entire experience. And a quick note for those who notice the details (like I do): even the bathroom is stunning--beautifully designed and just as intentional as everything else in the space. If you're looking for something truly different, immersive, and unforgettable--this is it. Don't think twice. Book the reservation. We'll absolutely be back, and we're already looking forward to exploring their other concepts.

From the call from James earlier in the week to establish preferences within our dietary…read morerestrictions to the last bit of dessert on the plate, this was a flawless experience. The space is cozy and feels both private and like you're dining in a friend's home. Each plate was exceptionally prepared with layers of flavors that brought out the elements of the dish - a true expression of local and in-season foods turned into exquisite cuisine. The menus at each place setting were a delightful keepsake and allowed us to both anticipate and follow along. I'm vegan and my husband is pescatarian and we left very pleased with the experience. If you choose the dinner paired with wine, book a rideshare as it's eight pours of wine (plus top offs) with your meal, so we were very very giggly and happy at the night's end. The bright spots were a slow dance in the kitchen when the right song came on, the candles on our anniversary sweets, and being able to chat with Sky and River (the sous chef and chef respectively) all evening at the chef's counter.

They come as a small plate with three appetizer-sized tacos, and every bite was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The Buddy the Elf Burger offers a choice of a single or double patty; ours was cooked perfectly. The smoky bacon really brought everything together and gave it that extra "wow" factor. We rounded things out with the O Come, All Ye Fried Rice with Hanger Steak, which was another winner -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. As if the meal wasn't great enough on its own, we happened to be there while Emily Curtis was performing. She's truly incredible and added such a fun, memorable vibe to the day.
