Wow! I was lucky enough to have an amazing dining experience at Honeysuckle Rose last night. From start to finish, the food was top tier. I cannot say enough good things about the flavor profiles, the presentation, and the flow of the meal. Everything was spot on. I did the non-alcoholic beverage pairing and it was far better than most NA pairings I've had. I have a lot of Michelin starred meals under my belt, including two 2 Star experiences in the last month, and I can safely say that what I experienced here was easily on par in every aspect. This food and experience overall is one not to miss if you are in Charleston. Thanks to the chef and team. Well done and highly recommend!

What an exceptional prix fixe dining experience!!! It's a small location with only about 32 seats and one seating a night, but how vibrant and exciting, and what a fantastic host team. Kelleanne and her team were amazing in food prep and service. And it was so great to see her appreciation for the team as the night concluded. It's a pricey meal, but with 8 awesome courses and wine pairings included with each, it was worth the expense. Loved every course including the oyster, hamachi, prawn, halibut, agnolotti, pork, waygu, and dessert. Would definitely go back for our next special occasion.

Honeysuckle Rose was truly unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness from every single staff member. The service was beyond anything we could have imagined so attentive, so friendly, and it felt like they genuinely cared about making the night special for us. And the food... there are hardly words big enough. Every bite was phenomenal rich, flavorful, and so thoughtfully prepared. It wasn't just dinner, it was an experience, the kind of meal you can't stop talking about long after it's over. What made it even more meaningful was that we came just after our wedding, 08/27/2025 !! and Honeysuckle Rose gifted us something we'll carry with us forever not just an incredible dinner, but a beautiful memory to start this new chapter of our lives together. Thank you to the entire team at Honeysuckle Rose for giving us such a wonderful night. It's something me and Blane will never forget. - Izzy and Blane !

Chefs preparing our delicious courses with love and intention

What a lovely and incredibly intentional meal. This was our first meal on our Charleston vacation and it set the bar high. The eight course tasting menu with delicious wine pairings was enjoyed through every bite and sip. The staff further elevate this experience by being kind, attentive, and engaging. We loved the chef's interpretation of each course and also being able to watch them work effortlessly in the kitchen between courses. The art work and music were super fun. We have traveled to many cities and enjoyed countless excellent meals but this was a top three meal for sure. Don't hesitate...especially if you are celebrating something special. This evening was such a treat.

EVERYTHING was above and beyond! Chef River and Drew were totally on point!! The food and the flavors were expressed collectively where you felt the passion and love.

No words to describe the food except one Scrumptious! It's a I want to kiss the chef type of restaurant. Every bite melts in your mouth and is just such bursts of flavors it's like a delicious firecracker in your mouth if that makes any sense. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Chefs Table for the 8-course tasting menu at Honeysuckle Rose and it was truly a culinary delight. From start to finish, each dish was thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's creativity and expertise. The tasting menu began with a refreshing Caviar & Potatoes paired with Moët & Chandon that awakened the palate and set the tone for the meal ahead. Each subsequent course brought new flavors and textures to the chef's table, surprising and delighting my taste buds with every bite. Standout dishes included the braised white rabbit with Cavatappi in Marsala sauce; Braised Wagyu Short Rib, mashed potatoes, squash, Brussel sprouts, carrots with heavenly gravy and truffle (I would have drank the gravy if I was home); Anderson Ranch Lamb Chop with red curry that melted in my mouth tasted very rich and robust and the pastry's were out of this world the panna cotta was so rich and silky that provided the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff members guiding us through each course and providing insightful explanations of the ingredients and techniques used in each dish. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. Overall, the 8-course tasting menu at Honeysuckle Rose exceeded my expectations and left me feeling satisfied and impressed. It was a culinary journey that I will not soon forget, and I cannot wait to return to explore more of the chef's creations. If you are looking for a special dining experience or just want to treat yourself(like me), Honeysuckle Rose will tantalize your taste buds and leave you feeling pampered. I highly recommend indulging in the 8-course tasting menu at Honeysuckle Rose Had the following: Strawberries & Rhubarb Asparagus & Morels Signature popover served with a side of Fooe Gras topped with Carmel sauce. Pacific Black Cod White Rabbit Anderson Ranch Lamb Chop Braised Wagyu Short Rib Strawberry Guava Soufflé and panna cotta Molly handled the wine curation and mocktails with perfection and paired each dish. My favorite wine was the Pinot Noir it was the best Pinot. From the owners Chef Ryan and Kelleanne Jones (Kelleanne is the cutest and so detailed) to the entire Honeysuckle Rose culinary team, the attention to detail was impeccable. The bathrooms were even cool from the wall pictures to hand soap and candles. I absolutely loved the way Kelleanne ends the evening by thanking the team and giving a short intro to the team with a toast. The level of hospitality is unmatched in every way and I hope that everyone gets to experience Honeysuckle Rose. I changed my flight around in Savannah just to come visit the restaurant after hearing it was the best in the world. My expectations were extremely high and they delivered every step of the way. I hope to be back at least once a year. Oh the music was awesome too. This truly was the best culinary experience - restaurant I have ever had. Thank you Honeysuckle Rose.

    Excited to try...

Update: Our 3rd visit to this gem of a restaurant. The quality, service, commitment to excellence continues to exceed our expectations. Each dish exceeded our expectations. Food & presentation exude perfection. Kelleanne work diligently behind the scenes to ensure service goes without a hitch and talks with all the diners to guarantee the best experience. The restaurant itself is just beautiful with attention given to every corner of the room. I will say this again... Michelin worthy without a shadow of a doubt. I've been to several Michelin restaurants & Honeysuckle Rose rises to the top of the list.

I saw this experience all over Charleston social media and for me this would be a costly adventure but I so wanted to do it. So I was so happy when they offered a petite experience. Though still $150 I was able to justify it with a recent job promotion. And I can not say enough good things about our night. The way they call you a few days ahead to double check on allergies and personalize the place setting made you feel so special. The ambiance and vibe was cozy and trendy at the same time. And the food it was soooo good!!! With little details like the menu in an envelope and a small treat to take home and they didn't skimp on the quality of what they served. At the end of the night the memories made the price feel like a steal. So happy I treated myself to a night at Honeysuckle Rose. Keep doing what you're doing!

Imagine for a moment you were invited along with 28 others to the home of a master chef and a master sommelier. They prepared a 2.5 hour meal with eight exquisite courses, equally amazing wines and delivered hospitality like you were members of their family. Well, that's what it felt like to dine at Honeysuckle Rose (HR) last night. Having dined at Southbound this summer (see my Yelp review), we started following it on Instagram. It was there that we learned about the opening of HR. HR is usually open Wednesday thru Saturday with one seating the first two nights and two on Friday and Saturday. But this week they added Tuesday to the lineup. When we arrived at 10 minutes to 7, we were the last party to be seated. At each placesetting was an envelope with each diner's name and inside was the menu and wine pairings. What stood out in those first 10-15 minutes was the warm welcome from Andrew and Shawn and the delivery of a glass of bubbly. As each course is presented, the chef explains to the entire dining room the preparation of the dish and then the sommelier discusses the wine's geography and why it was selected. It's amazing how eight small tastings can be so satisfying and filling. We started with fish and lobster and then transitioned to duck, lamb and wagyu. I've often said what makes an incredible dining experience is more than great food, it's the service and connection you have with the wait staff. This is where HR is exemplary. Their level of service would wow someone in Napa or New York City. The cost is $250 per person, which includes everything, except tax. For foodies, this is a steal for the wow they deliver. We are still talking about how incredible the evening was this morning as we munched on a pastry treat they provided for breakfast. I learned that Free Reign Restaurants, the parent firm of HR and Southbound, is opening another Charleston restaurant in the next several months called Allora. Incredible evening! Get on Tock and make a reservation!

The menu comes in a wax sealed envelope with your name on it.

Honeysuckle Rose gives a unique twist on the traditional and somewhat stuffy chef's tasting menu experience. Once you enter, you'll notice that the walls and ceilings are dark and the window shades are closed. This was intentionally done so you'll be less distracted by your surroundings and more able to focus on the dishes being served. You'll also notice that there is fun, upbeat music playing, which definitely sets the mood for the great time that awaits. Shortly after being seated, the owners/ operators Ryan and Kelleanne Jones introduce themselves along with the sommelier. During the short intro, they explain the setting and give a brief description of what's to come. The most important part of that intro is the emphasis on them wanting you to feel like you're at a family dinner. They want you to feel loved and have fun. They even encourage dancing and singing. Once the food and wine comes out, it's not hard to notice that a lot of thought and love went into their selections, preparation, and presentation. Honeysuckle Rose is a very unique gem and regardless how many reviews you read, the love, appreciation, and amazing food/ wine is something that really can't be put into words. So do yourself a favor and check this place out. Side note: they can accommodate plenty of food allergies and they even have a full vegetarian menu.

I've had my fair share of exceptional dining experiences, but Honeysuckle Rose in Charleston, truly stands out. Run by the dynamic husband-wife duo, Ryan and Kellyanne, this place combines impeccable cuisine with an unexpectedly amazing musical ambiance, making for a truly unique sit-down dining experience. I did the tasting menu on chefs counter and it was amazing! Arrival and Atmosphere: We were seated promptly at 5:45 PM for our 6 PM reservation, and from the moment we arrived, the warm and inviting atmosphere was evident. The music was fantastic and added a delightful, unexpected touch to the evening. Beverage Pairings: The beverage pairings, expertly curated by Shane, were nothing short of spectacular. The mix of wine and non-alcoholic options was a treat, allowing for a diverse tasting experience. Courses and Pairings: 1. First Course: * Dish: Low country Oyster and Caviar * Beverage: Chandon (Eparnay, France) 2. Second Course: * Dish: Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio with Nasturtiums (looked like a work of art on the plate) * Beverage: Cucumber and Ginger Drink (N/A) 3. Third Course: * Dish: Scallop Seared with Popcorn (actual popcorn, not cornmeal) * Beverage: Cosmic(biodynamically grown, so fruit harvesting depends on planet placements?) Souvignon Blanc, Balta Spain 4. Fourth Course: * Dish: Prosciutto over Pasta and Truffles * Beverage: Gewürztraminer 5. Fifth Course: * Dish: Duck with Peaches, Honey, Duck Bacon, and Figs * Beverage: Tea steeped with something special (?) and Garnacha, Spain 6. Sixth Course: * Dish: Wagyu from Savannah with Robuchon Mashed Potatoes, Sorrel, and Blueberries * Beverage: South African Somesay Wine (made by a Zimbabwean refugee turned master sommelier, featured in "Blind Ambition") Syrah, SA (Also the last two bottles in the state of South Carolina!) 7. Seventh Course: * Dish: Farro Risotto with Colorado Lamb Loin, Golden Raisins, and Sweet Cherries * Beverage: Chai Mocktail with Fresh Cantaloupe Juice Desserts: * Compressed Peaches with Honeysuckle: Plucked by the pastry chef and paired with numerous other delightful elements. * A Cherry Cobbler Bar to go, featuring passion fruit, strawberries, cranberry, and lemon oil. Served with Sparkling Rose, France Special Touches: The evening ended on a high note with a charming gathering where the team was introduced, and guests enjoyed a bit of dancing with the team. Such a cute and personal touch, highlighting the wonderful hospitality at Honeysuckle Rose. Overall, Honeysuckle Rose offers an exceptional dining experience that is both sophisticated and heartwarming. The attention to detail, from the curated beverages to the innovative dishes, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, makes it a must-visit. Ryan, Kellyanne, Shane and team have created something truly special here. This place deserves at least one Michelin star, if not more. Highly recommended!

Continuing a Birthday month-long celebration of events and experiences, let me take you guys through my experience at Honeysuckle Rose. This was truly an amazing experience! All of the courses and wine pairings were well thought out. It's amazing to see all the new food experiences that have come to Charleston. Honeysuckle Rose has a mouthwatering 8-course meal that takes you on a culinary journey. Each course is carefully prepared and the details are never skipped. The staff even give details and explanations on each dish so it really bolsters that high-class experience they're aiming for. The eight plates were: *Caviar and potatoes- a Small but mighty bite. *Strawberries and rhubarb- the blue cheese in this dish paired so well in every bite. , *Signature popover- I had a few and wanted more. The warm bread paired with the butter was heaven-sent. *Asparagus and morels- delicious and fresh. *Bank scallops- this fresh bite tasted like the sea and was magical. *Lubina Del Mar-the fish was cooked to perfection and the sweetness on top was superb. *Milk-fed veal- this was a succulent piece and I wanted more. *Wagyu New York strip- this dish was a 10/10 and the jus on this dish was rich and savory. *Strawberry guava soufflé- I'm a fan girl of Chef Heather so I was excited to see what new innovations she has created here. The dish was everything and MORE! I loved every offering but my favorite bite had to be the Wagyu New York strip. Absolutely delectable and luscious, deep flavor. Honeysuckle Rose honestly owes me nothing. I was shown a wonderful time and had so much fun while being left full and happy. Don't miss out on this gem, you won't regret coming!

The dining room is beautiful, and the ambiance is excellent. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality level or price point of the restaurant. Throughout the evening, our server seemed rushed and disengaged. Despite our efforts to be friendly and conversational, interactions felt brief and transactional. A drink order was delivered incorrectly, and rather than improving as the meal progressed, the service became increasingly impersonal. We never felt particularly welcomed or valued as guests. While the food and atmosphere were good, the overall experience fell short of what we have come to expect from restaurants operating in this category and at this price level. We are glad we gave it a try, but in the future we'll likely choose other Charleston-area restaurants that deliver a more polished and hospitality-focused experience when entertaining family and friends from out of town.

We were in Charleston just for a weekend. We were waitlisted for a table at Fig and got a table…read morelast minute. Great atmosphere, and meal and service were excellent. Had the charred eggplant with cottage cheese for an appetizer. Sounded odd to me, but it was amazing!!! The bouillabaisse was the best I have ever had anywhere. My husband had grilled triggerfish, and he said it was wonderful. Would definitely recommend Fig to anyone. We were so lucky to get a table. Tried a few weeks earlier but nothing was available. Go to Fig--you won't be disappointed. Make your reservation as early as 28 days out. You'll be glad you did.

My wife has a fish allergy and they offered to prepare a vegetable plate for her. They prepared three vegetable dishes, which were all excellent. He recommended the boulliabase which was phenomenal. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My wife also had the arugula salad, which was excellent. I started with the chicken liver pate, which is all it is claimed to be. I honestly did not think that the blue crab ravioli was anything special. In fact I could have skipped that dish and had been fine and would've had more room to finish the shrimp in the boulliabase. Desserts were outstanding. Chocolate budin (pudding) was delicious. Rice pudding was also quite nice with the fresh strawberries. The place itself was nice. Dark lighting. They did a great job of staggering seatings so you're not sitting on top of each other. Wonderful meal and night.

We rolled the dice to try R Kitchen, and it ended up being our favorite dinner on our trip to…read moreCharleston. We went to the Rutledge location and the 4 of us sat at a high-top table in the "dining room" -- I put that in quotes, because this experience is not about ambience. It was comfortable and fine, but the focus is on putting food in your belly when you do R Kitchen. We loved every single bite of every single course we ate. We didn't remotely know what to expect food-wise, and we found ourselves practically licking the plates -- while also feeling inspired and nostalgic with the chefs' comments. This is not a pretentious dining experience. It's comfortable, it's fun (we dug the playlist and had our own version of "name that tune" going on) and most importantly it's Delicious. If you're fussy about food, this place is not for you. But if you like more than you hate, you're in for a treat. We got more than our money's worth.

It's been a couple of years since I was there last. All I can say is "not as good as it was". $77…read morefor a four course meal if it was really good is probably fairly reasonable. But it wasn't really good, only "meh". Only the two chefs were there to serve as a result water glasses were more empty than full. Any additional condiments or drinks were slow in coming. And of course at the end of the meal the pay device started the tips at like 18% and go to 25%. Ridiculous! That's too bad because the model is very interesting and was a great meal a couple of. Years ago. It will be a while before we try it again.
