The bald male bartender is extremely rude. He thinks he's being funny by being short with customers. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I walked up to the bar and he got frustrated bc I wasn't ready to order. He fires back "You look like you want beer, there's the taps. Figure it out". I proceeded to order an Irish coffee and he got upset because they had to make coffee. My visit obviously bothered him so I'll be sure to never spend my money at this bar again. read more

My favorite bar! My partner and I LOVE R Bar. I've been here more times than I can count. I usually order the Veggie Flatbread which is always a winner. It's a little spicy and topped with cooked veggies. It hits the spot every time. I also love their smash burger which is a really generous portion. The service is great between the bartenders and the KJ's! read more

They have trivia, karaoke, good drinks, awesome staff and a lot of seating....what's not to like? But truly, finding parking is a bitch, so please keep that in mind before your night out - but also - you shouldn't be drinking and driving anyway kid! Great divey bar but without that gruff overly masculine bullshit. This is a great spot to hang out and eat and drink with cool people. No notes. read more

Just went to R Bar for the first time last night and as the self proclaimed California Queen of Karaoke this corner lot spot is a terrific K-town Treasure. Clinton, the K-jay sang "Summer Nights" with me and we brought the joy. In a world full of doom and gloom it is a blessing to find a spot where you can decompress the stress and not break the pocket book on yummy drinks and tasty dishes (BTW, the food was a win!!!!) I can't explain enough how Terrible this awful staff treated us. I was in a coma for seven months and came in a wheelchair and walker over the years. Recently I WALKED from my home and after a delicious meal at Taylor's suggested we walk down as I was feeling great about all I accomplished. The shaved haired man has a weird vendetta against my husband and when I tried to take up for him , screamed at me using profanity. No one was in there and he loved refusing us service. He could provide no reason why as he said he can't remember why he refused everyone service. Apparently there are quite a lot. My husband had met one of the owners while I was hospitalized and spoke quite highly of her. Before coming out this guy conferenced with the doorman as if deciding a story. One of the weirdest experiences of my life. Hardly what I expected in such a great night. Just continued on to one of our normal spots in the neighborhood. read more

I tried R Bar earlier this year with a friend, and I could see the appeal: a casual spot with a dive bar vibe (and bonus: they offer a trivia night if that's your thing). We met there during an early evening, and it was not very busy. There was ample seating including booths, and ordering was very easy. Though this place is not swanky, cocktail prices are about what you expect in the Los Angeles area and are cheaper than what you would find in a more upscale bar. They also offer a food menu, and I though the onion rings were not overly breaded and had a good crispy texture. I thought R Bar was a great spot to catch up with a friend in a chill environment, and I could see myself going back to try their trivia night in the future. read more

What can I say about my local? Fine craft cocktails? Check! Awesome ambience? Check! Exceptional staff? Check, checkity check-check! Now for the food. Ambiance- looks like R bar has been a long-time neighborhood establishment. Though looks can be deceiving, the feel is authentic. R bar IS my neighborhood spot now that I've moved a few blocks away. I come here once or twice a month for food, drinks and ambience. My family likes it. My colleagues like it. My friends dig it. It has an old 1800s pirate feel. Karaoke- brass monkey used to be THE place to go for karaoke! I still love that place! But now my family and friends prefer R bar karaoke because it isn't nearly as crowded! You actually get your chance to sing! The k host never demands a tip to have your turn at rocking out to your favorite tune! The patrons are friendly and supportive. Not everyone is there to sing. Folks are chilling, eating, socializing. And applauding or singing along with you. Food- my coworkers appreciate the mix of vegetarian options along with everything else on the menu. It's a bar. The menu isn't big. But it's impressive for a bar. The food is much better than other bars. Veggie and chicken quesadillas. Pulled pork sandwich. Chicken bacon club. Rosemary fries. Juicy onion rings. And I've come back twice for the tasty chicken bacon salad! Yeah. A delicious, filling salad. At a bar. Nearly epic! Drinks- excellent margaritas, mules, and old fashions. $9 beers on draught. $8 Pacifico can. But better deals at happy hour, which is 5-7pm! The weekly specials are great! It's hard to describe what this place has become to me through a review, but I will do my best. This is not just a bar or a community space. It's something else entirely that cannot be quantified. Come for the drinks and food, stay for the Monday night bingo, or the Wednesday night trivia, near-nightly karaoke with some of the best KJ's in the biz, the curated playlists, the chitchat with the regulars, banter with the bartenders, and fast friendships. I came across R bar randomly when I was visiting Los Angeles. It is a cozy bar that is great for a karaoke night with friends or even if you want to catch up with friends comfortably in a corner. Super cool relaxing place with great vibes, professional bartenders and a super fun Saturday karaoke scene. This is the place to go for public karaoke on a Saturday night in Ktown. I went here with a group to celebrate a birthday on Saturday and had an absolute blast! I'm not a boozy drinker, but the bar had no problem with soda waters/lime. The food menu looked great. Everyone I talked to was friendly, karaoke even inspired some dancing at times, and the bathrooms were clean. If you're looking for a comfortable bar with reasonable food, drinks, and Saturday night karaoke, check out this R Bar. Parking can be a bit of a challenge if you're trying to find a meter (it took about 10-15mins of circling), but just stay patient and committed! read more

R Bar is a place that believes in *specializing* in the standards--they don't try to scare people off with obscure cocktails or snootiness. This is just a great neighborhood bar. Wow, accidentally found one of my new favorite bars last night. Came with a friend and split a pitcher of cider. Good prices and lasted us a while. We did not expect it to be karaoke night but it was a very nice surprise. Grabbed a seat on the earlier side and stayed for a while watching people. Everybody was very welcoming and supportive of the people singing. Even the bartenders were able to grab the mic for a moment which I loved to see. Hope the handsome man running karaoke is there again next time I visit! read more

Came here for the first time with my fiancé the other night before going to see a show at the Wiltern. Our bartender was named Elaine and she was so sweet and easy to talk to. She recommended karaoke later that evening, which I came back for and had a blast. Cute business but unfortunately rude staff. I went to go order some food after a long day. This was also around 8PM so I thought they would at least take food orders. Nigel, the bartender, checked for ID but unfortunately I left it at home. I had a picture of my ID I was willing to show, but he said he would not accept it. I have used a picture before to get in bars but just order food. Instead of hearing me out, he immediately refused service and even said "I look 22 tops" which was extremely unnecessary and uncalled for. What type of place doesn't allow their customers to eat? And then leaves backhanded rude comments to them? I understand that I didn't have my ID but instead of just helping a customer Nigel treated me with such condescending rudeness and unempathy. Made the bar feel unsafe to be in. Sad because I was excited to try karaoke at the bar. Treat your staff better R Bar read more

Just called asking if they were playing the UFC fight tonight and the guy rudely answers "WHAT!" I said are you guys playing the UFC fight ? He said " I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, karaoke starts at 8!!" What a tone smh. A suggestion, get someone nice to answer your phones. Still solid. Glad they don't use passwords anymore. That seemed quirky before, dated now. R Bar's unique layout and ambience is what makes this bar great. I wish the music wasn't so loud, but if you go into the booth seating, the music isn't as loud. Only negative experience is that the bartenders are limited to the cocktails on their menu and very basic drinks. They don't appear to have the skill or knowledge to make popular, but more complex cocktails that are not on their menu. I'm not sure if the management has rules against cocktails that are not on the menu or if the bartenders are simply not skilled enough, but that took a star off for me. read more

Hi! Thanks for saying hello! We are located in the Koreatown neighborhood of LA.; we love our community! So much fun to be had! R Bar is an American-style pub and eatery. We have wings, burgers and do have vegetarian options. We also have a full bar serving both signature and classic cocktails as well as bottle and draft craft beers. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

I had placed a phone order, for pick up; upon arrival, I found the service was prompt. I saw my food ready to go, just past the main walk-in area. Almost immediately after that, I was taken care of by the host and on my way. I've been waiting to try this place for ages so on the drive back to work I was excited to steal a piece of meat from the bag. Initial bite flavor was good, meat was tender just a bit on the chewy side.. I wasn't bothered by it too much as I'd have to leave it in an oven warmer at work. Trying to keep food warm, in doing so, I knew there'd be only two possible outcomes, melting tender or either tough & dry. So, the dish of meat and rice sat in the warmer for almost an hour hour and a half. The downhill slope.... Set the "meat " on the veggies and began to eat. Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it. As go on, I get the sinking feeling, this can't be real meat. I lock in, the deeper I dig, each piece looks the same, broken apart the same, tastes the same, just various shapes. They can call me crazy for this one - I'll stand by it. Something is not right here. I'm not even going to throw it away. I'm going to study it for the next few days and post an updated review. I hope I'm wrong but as of right now, I'll never revisit this place. Too freaky of an experience. We

Once we arrived the interior had a relaxed, easygoing vibe, modern but cozy, with stylish design touches that made the whole space feel welcoming and unhurried. Even the waiting area with it's low lit seating surrounded by book cases was really cool. My wife, my sister and I had a wonderful table near the fireplace in the center of the dining area. Nearby were draped booths that would be perfect for a more romantic evening. Our server was, Haley...she was incredible. Very personable, helpful and extremely professional. You'll be in good hands if you're lucky enough to get her! Then the food...Wow. My wife and my sister got the filet migons, watching my wife's euphoric reaction of taking her fist bite made my evening! Omg...thankfully, my wife let me try garlic fries that came with the filets, and they were the best I ever had! I got the Langostino Fettuccine...outstanding. You have to dig a little spicy, which I do...but the vodka cream sauce is the real highlight of this dish. For deserts we got the apple cobbler, the creme brulee and sticky toffee cake. All three were fantastic. But I preferred the cobbler and the toffee cake the most. We didn't get the Le Petit Gateau, their chocolate cake...but we decided to get one to go! HA...it's unbelievably rich and pretty tall and big. It's topped with candied wild cheries...it's two days later and we're still eating this yummy treat. All in all...I would recommend this for any occasion...wether you're looking for just a night out with solid service and great food, to a romantic evening. We got there around 6...but later on there was live music with these two gentlemen on guitars that really played perfect atmosphere music. You can't go wrong with a night out at Firefly!

The vibe is perfect, the bartender is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the drink menu. There is no wine here but the cocktails are excellent, full of flavor, and so is the whiskey. The live music was incredible, the guy playing the sax really knows how to jam. The dancers and musicians were performing together, and did several shows! There's this magical connection between a musician and a dancer that you see and feel as they improvise and work the crowd, the stage, and the whole venue. In between performances there was social dancing, with a lot of great dancers dressed to the nines. The birthday cake performance is something you got to see and experience, totally off the charts, like something you'd see in a movie! The final performance is with a giant martini glass. The girl dances around/in the glass filled with water and then pours champagne all over herself. One of the most wild over the top things I've ever seen! The energy and vibes were off the hook! I highly recommend this for couples that want a special date night, large groups that want a unique experience/entertainment, and people who want to celebrate their birthday in style.

There were definitely not 10 acts and YES then entire chaotic mess of a show was only 15-20 minutes long!!! IF you have footage of a 90 minutes show then I'm sure you can post that as well LIE#3 The only thing Sergio didn't lie about is he didn't mention anything about the disgusting food and drinks I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT APPRECIATE ALL THESE LIES AND I HOPE NO ONE EVER WASTES THEIR MONEY ON THIS SHOW AGAIN!!!
