    The bar and inside
    Dennis C.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to grab a drink and work on a manuscript. They had plenty of tables but also an outside patio area. There was food and signature cocktails. The first one was so good, (the fountain mule), had to try another drink. It was early afternoon so there was no one inside but the patio had patrons lounging and enjoying. There was some nice music playing in the background but ins8de there was a DJ stand. I'm sure it gets pretty live when the sun goes down. All in all its a nice place to come for a relaxing conversation or to do some work. The music wasn't so loud that you can't carry on decent conversation.

This was my first visit to this establishment. Food was okay drinks were cool, the ambiance was nice as well. Service: I was here for an event and arrived early; hardly no one had arrived and the service was cool. Once the building filled and folks began to order food and drinks, the service was not so good. Orders were not being taken, the bartenders were trying to figure out which drinks and food were ordered by whom. I'm not sure the staff were prepared for the crowd. With that being said, I ordered fries (they were fried really hard but I didn't complain) two glasses of wine and a shot of Don. I had a tab running on my card. At the end of the night, I asked to close my tab. When the bill arrived, and I took a look at it, I noticed that I was charged an additional four dollars per glass of wine; for a total of eight additional dollars. I called one of the waitresses over and asked her why did the price of the wine look different than the price on the menu and she told me it was because of gratuity. I looked down at the bill and there was also a 15% gratuity applied automatically. The bar was crowded, everyone was out of sorts so I just said forget it and I paid the tab so that I could grab my Uber that was already waiting for me outside. I think it's important to know that my rating is not based on my overall experience however, it is based on prices listed on the menu and adding additional fees to a receipt. There were a lot of us in the establishment last night and imagine how many other peoples tabs had additional funds added to them. This establishment was able to make additional money, especially if you aren't paying attention to the menu prices. I was paying attention to the menu prices, but to me I wasn't gonna fight over eight dollars and I wanted to go home and I needed to grab my Uber, so the rating that I'm giving is based on the fact that I don't think it's good business policy and it's not ethical to charge additional money thinking that folks may not pay attention because maybe they've had one or two too many drinks. I'm more than likely not going yo visit this establishment again.

We came here Sunday around 2:30pm. We couldn't find any other closer bar to get a drink while our friend waited for a table at Crab House. There was a friendly bouncer at the front who checked our ID. There happened to be a stand up comedy show when we walked in. We didn't really listen to it since we were there to talk and drink. We wanted a bloody mary but the waitress said they didn't have the ingredients here but then later said they have them. It took like 10 mins or more for them to make it, but they were missing tabasco to make it spicy. The drink was ok. A male staff also came to apologize for the comedy and said we are free to sit outside if we want. When we were leaving the bar, the bouncer also apologized for the comedy show and how empty it was. We just wanted a drink so it was ok. The bouncer said it was more lively on the weekdays like Mon-Fri.

    This is Chicken Loaded Fries.

It was a slow night. The service and bringing out the meal came out in a timely matter. Kudos! My dinner came out delicious. The fries tasted like In and Out fries. I love In and Out fries. This is a plus for me. Overall, the loaded fries with chicken tasted great!

whenever i wanted to have cocktails, or some drinks that are not soju in Koreatown, i always had to go either dtla or more west or north from k town so i was so happy to try this place out that i can come for drinks that are not soju. I went to 2pm on Sunday, our group was the only one customer until we left. The drinks in general are very pricey($18 wasn't even big) and took like 15mis to serve when we were the only customers), they only have one beer(coors) under $10 everything else was $10 to $14 for beers. No happy hour, there are not many selections of cocktails either. We also had french fries but It didn't taste fresh, not hot enough. The rooftop wasn't opened, I guess they only open at night. There were so many outdoor seats too but we didn't have a choice as none of the outdoor tables were ready. The server was kind and he even let us play a free dart game but I really wished they had some good drink deals, or rooftop/outdoor seats opened. I also expected that this place to be like a sports bar but the screens are not even big enough up too high so my neck hurts to see the screen. Well they have plenty of parking(loved) and plenty of tables and seats. The server told me they do have a DJ night every Tuesday, he said the house is full on Tuesday night. Honestly price wise, not sure I would give a second chance but I want to try out one more time at night to check out the vibes.

Loved this bar atomosphere! It's got nice huge lounge on the second floor and private rooms, and sports bar on the first floor with dart range and sand puck thingy. It's definitely best bar to watch games. I really enjoyed the the little games. Great to get free beers from your friends. Servers and bartenders were super nice as well. + huge parking lot

Never got a response on the follow up. Eventbrite said the vendor refunds directly.

Went here for Halloween. They closed suddenly around midnight. Manager said we would get a refund...never received. Ignores my emails. I would be fine with even a partial. Don't go to any events here unless you want to risk not experiencing the whole event and not getting g what you paid for.

That's really what sold me when I was reviewing spots on Yelp in this area. The food and drinks are an added bonus, it was really good! I'll definitely be back. The owner Connor is so welcoming. 5* Ambiance 5* Service…read more5* Coctails Level 8 really has done a fantastic job creating a jazz/entertainment bar with great service, drinks, and unpretentious service. The guests, come and go and at each moment, in any corner, be ready to be surprised and entertained by a live DJ, acrobat, burlesque performer, pianist and singer. What a show! Veronica at the bar was fantastic and made us drinks just to our order. Supper knowledgable, helpful and kind. Definitely, this place is a great hangout after a meal... be prepared to be be dazzled and entertained.

Gonna try to paint the picture in as few words as possible. Sorry for the long narrative:…read more 1) I planned out a special night for my wife throughout all of Level 8 2) Had reservations set at Lucky Mizu for Dinner to Mr. Wanderlust for Cocktails and Entertainment and then to Sinners and Santos for Drinking and Dancing for Latin Night 3) Showed up for our 6:45 PM reservation at Lucky Mizu but was turned away 3 times stating they didn't have seats available. After being seated 40 minutes later, service took 20 minutes to take our order, and another 30 minutes to be served. Food was 'okay', there was no entertainment, and multiple customers were unhappy with similar slow service... but some of them were comped parts of their meals.. we didn't even get a sorry until we spoke to the manager on our way out, expressing the reason was they had no idea it would be this busy on a Thursday (they take reservations, so...), and also blamed an 'all you can eat promotion' they promoted earlier, and they only had two serves on staff that night. 4) We were late to Mr. Wanderlust, but were luck to get two seats at the bar after another couple left. We order two cocktails and a coffee... and were charged just over $140. Then, we were asked to move because they wanted to take our seats. We asked about the bill to the bartendar, and she expressed that since she didn't take our original order, she couldn't help us. She simply just had us stand there. We were not going to pay since it seemed way off... until finally we spoke to a guy walking by. We showed him our ticket/receipt and said out loud, "this isn't right". He came back quickly with a revised bill of almost $120. This was still far too high, but no one else seemed interested in helping us find resolve, so we ate it since we didn't want to be late for part 3 of the night. 5) Hoping to salvage the night with drinks and dancing... we tried to find the entrance to Sinners and Santos for their advertised Latin night. We had made reservations here too, and had full confirmation of the reservation... BUT, after finally being directed to the entrance (outside on the patio), they were closed. No sign of why and no one who worked at the other locations had a reason, but they were just simply closed. 6) So, after paying $35 for parking, about $140 in cocktails and food while waiting for our initial reservation at Golden Hour and Que Barbaro, $150+ for dinner at Lucky Mizu, and $120 at Mr. Wanderlust... approximately $500 total... we didn't even get to dance. Maybe this place had a bad night, but based on what the workers said, and how they treated us... it sure seems like the norm. Don't get me wrong, the place is cool... some really great experiential elements and nice photo ops... but I would have had a much better time somewhere else. Super disappointed in this place.

NOVEMBER 26.2025…read more I've been through many iterations of The Library Bar over the years... from small and cozy secret bar for those that work in the looming skyscrapers of Downtown LA to being some noisy urban hip hop affair that served godawful drinks (see my past review!), and on back to being a calm and casual neighborhood bar again. The interior never changes... dark... illuminated by candlelight... the bust of Shakespeare over the fireplace, the shelves of old books-- all of it remains intact. But this latest Library Bar seems to have finally dialed in what was always sorely missing in that it showcases a conscientious staff that all seem to know how to mix drinks while treating the customer well by leaving them be. On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.
