A friend suggested getting drinks here before dinner at Rasamurah which is on the same block. So three of us checked it out on a Sun. Cool, low key vibe. Kinda old school but a little hipster at the same time. Cocktails are $15. Quick service. Would go back if in the area. Parked on side street.

In today's adventure to the LA, pre dinner cocktails brought my party to Shim Sham. A lowkey watering hole with great ambiance and an impressive menu of libations! Cheers!

The entrance to the bar is easy to miss.

You could easily miss this place if you weren't looking for it. The sign is quite small, but once you're inside, it's so welcoming. I was there on a Saturday for a friend's birthday and the place was packed. But the bar staff was very congenial and the drinks were strong and came quickly. I like that they let patrons bring in their own food or have pizza delivered. Once they turned off the football game, the music was great too. Good vibes. Good place.

What a beautiful space, great cocktails with an expert L.A. bar team. Pre-inflation prices.

I'm puzzled by the one-star reviews, but I have to give Shim Sham a solid five stars. The interior design is thoughtfully crafted and very stylish. The bartenders may be busy, but if you're patient, they'll definitely attend to you--they're genuinely friendly. The beer prices are reasonable, with Miller High Life at $5, and the cocktails are fantastic. The weekend vibe had great music, and I can't wait to return time and time again!

This bartender Joe, on god, pours the best Guinness in west. The vibes are insane, I fuck with AD, Ryan and the whole squad. Much love to the sham

Fans of extremely loud music are in for a treat. Alcoholics also, tons of beer and bottles of alcohol too.

And over time, this place has always had a fun vibe and reasonably priced drinks. The folks here seem to always be friendly as well. Even after all these years, this place could still get pretty crowded (the space isn't huge so that helps). They also have the Dodgers games on when available so that's great if you want to grab a drink in the area and don't want to miss the game. On my most recent trip, I came here after having dinner with a couple of friends in the area for a after dinner drink/ night cap. Ordered the martini and it was good! Just a great place in the area to meet up with friends to grab a cocktail if you wanna low-key place that has reasonable prices for good cocktails.

He was friendly, welcoming, and gave us a great first impression. However, our experience afterward was disappointing. We waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated and another 20-30 minutes before anyone took our order. I understand that restaurants get busy, and we were trying to be patient because we could see the staff was overwhelmed. When we finally got our beer, I told our server, Noah, that I could pour it myself if that would help. Instead of explaining the situation politely, he responded with attitude and said, "You know I can't serve you guys, right?" I apologized, but then he told us, "Nah, you guys have to leave." This was frustrating after waiting so long just to place an order. We were never rude or disrespectful to the staff, so the interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessary. I completely understand being busy, but customer service should still be respectful. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression despite the great welcome we received from Nate.

(A lot of thought went into the acoustics & speaker system.) This chic establishment serves up European-inspired small plates, and their cocktail program melds inspiration with a respect for classic structure. The sultry pulsating bass lines that ooze through the speakers set the tone for a chilled vibe, and the tropical motifs provide an escape from reality. It's a great spot to relax and catch a game or hang with friends, which I did. I met some of my favorite Yelp peeps here for Sunday Brunch. We received a warm & friendly welcome from Rasheeda (bartender). She was darling, as was our server, Mason. They were both fantastic. We settled into the cozy couches tucked in the corner and ordered several dishes to share: Hummus, Prosciutto Panino, Eggplant Panino, Mediterranean Eggs, Green Shakshuka, & Fries. Drinks consisted of: Nitro Cold Brew, Bloody Mary, Age of Aquarius, & a Lavender Gimlet. The fries were tossed with rosemary salt and came with garlic aioli & ketchup. They were addicting & delicious. My Lavender Gimlet did not disappoint. Everyone enjoyed their selections, and we had a great time together. This was the perfect meet up spot. I'm looking forward to coming back. *Street parking (can be tricky.) Metered parking across the street. *Happy Hour 2 pm - 6 pm daily & all-day Monday.

The crowd was very chill, very typical Echo Park low-key characters, quite a few seemed to know the staff well. The food and drinks were all fine to me, I had a couple old fashions, my girlfriend had a specialty drink with brunt orange something, she liked it. We tried the chicken thighs, fried green tomatoes, and the chicken biscuit. They all were good, my only issue, the chicken biscuit item is not served on a biscuit like I was thinking , its just on a sandwich bun essentially. Overall, I would go again maybe on a Friday or Saturday night to see the difference, if any of the crowd and vibe.

Kayla (Beverage Director/Mixologist) was fantastic and had a darling personality.
