Overall I liked talking to the guy who did my nails as far as quality of the nails... it's really poor. Regular set is $28 according to the owners post on here... I know gel is extra but somehow I ended up paying 50$ for white short acrylics (gel), that again look very poor. Not only that but the guy cut one side of my middle finger , no discount for that. I come in and get seated with a male technician and he was so rough with my hands it physically hurt (I can usually handle it due to understanding they need to get the right angle) but it was too much. The worst nail experience I've had in Simi Valley and I've been to almost every nail salon in this area. This is the second time I came here and it will definitely be the last. I arrived with my mom and there were only 2 other clients getting their nails done when we arrived. I let the ladies know we needed two mani / pedis and they asked us to pick our colors while they set up the water for the spa pedicure. In the meantime, a new client walks in after us asking for a pedicure and they gave her one of our spots behind our backs while we were picking our colors even though we were here before her. And it gets better.. Four other women walk in after us and they start doing their nails before ours once again. Once I remind them we got there first, their answer is that the other women called in, which is a total lie. All four of them walked in saying, "Hi, do you have time for a manicure or pedicure?" And never mentioned they had an appointment or called ahead of time. Come to find out, the reason they did the other women's nails who walked in after us over ours is because those women asked for acrylic and gel and that service is more expensive so they chose to do their nails first since they make more money off of it. I finally ask for a gel manicure and I had to beg for them to take the gel off while they were doing someone else's acrylics. They put the acetone on and after 15 minutes of burning and soaking, they forgot about me. I had to tell them that it was burning and they needed to take it off. And it continues. Two more women walked in after us yet again and I am still sitting here writing this review while waiting for them to do my mom's nails. It is so unprofessional, disrespectful, and ridiculous to not value a customer's time. This nail salon has absolutely no customer service to treat people like this. It's common sense that if a customer arrives first, they are treated first before anyone that arrives after. Not here! Money is more important to them than principal. Save your money and time, and please use your money somewhere else! I will never be returning and I only hope that no other women or mother-daughter duo gets treated the way that we did. It's sad that places like this exist in a family oriented town like Simi. read more

I came to this salon today in pain because of how long my nails were, they had cracked at the cuticle and I was scared to even go to a salon. The woman who fixed them did an amazing job she actually had to completely remove my natural nail which she knew had to be done and it was barely on anyways. I went in 2 weeks ago for a gel pedicure and a regular manicure no polish. Within 2 weeks the gel polish was peeling off and I could literally perl it off with my nails. Additionally, the "manicure" I was charged for was not any manicure I have seen, he barely did anything and my nails looked the same at the end. I called Lynn the manager and since i paid with cash and she apparantly could not find where she wrote my name down in her books, she would not refund my gel pedicure service. She was also rude on the phone saying "I don't have time for this and hanging up on me twice. I honestly don't understand how this business is still open because the horrible service and customer "care." Who hangs up on a client attempting to request the business make it right for a poorly done treatment? I would never address customers in this manner. It's a new business and I went to try it. Most nail salons in Simi are inadequate in that they rush, talk on their phones, giving a experience that's not conducive to a "spa" setting at all. The ending results have been short of average. I give 3 stars as I was their 2 1/2 hours as the only customer for a dipping refill and pedicure. Pedicure was fine. I was their only client when they started. The young girl doing my nails took 2.5 hours. She is obviously newly licensed. As my nails got thicker and thicker, I just wanted to end the torture and leave. As a Cosmetologist myself this was agony to sit through as she struggled. End result will keep me away sorry to say. I've been a few times and the prices are good & they always have entertaining videos on the TV, which is hard to find at a salon. I've always gotten a gel mani & spa pedicure. My Mani/pedi's have always been good but not great. They have an okay selection of colors (could use some more pinks & corals). For some reason the last 2 times I've been they have skipped over parts of my spa pedi (hot towel mostly). Just annoying to know that you're paying for something that you aren't getting... I have been seeing Quincy for over a year now. I used to see her at her last salon and then when she got her own salon, I came her with her to the new place. She is amazing and works wonders!! I love her and her ladies so much. The salon is very clean and very well priced. They even give you a punch card for a free manicure after 9 paid ones, it's fabulous! I was looking for a place that was open later on a weekend than my normal salon so I tried QV, I needed just a nail fill. The salon was nice and clean, however my technician complained how long it was taking to take off the gel polish I had on my acrylics and then proceeded to use either a dip powered or a colored acrylic (I'm pretty sure it was dip) to fill my nails with and charged me $55. I had no designs at all and just a fill with this colored powder, that is typically not even near that amount. This of course took a very long time to remove at my next appointment back at my usual salon. I would not go back to QV. read more

I checked reviews & told my friend this business has A LOT of specific, bad reviews on Yelp & Atriume. But not being familiar with this area, we went anyway & hoped for the best. Our appts were at 3pm & being L.A., traffic was unpredictable & I live over an hour away. My friend called to say we were on our way but running a bit late. We arrived 12 minutes past 3pm & sadly, my friend has cancer so walks very slowly with my help from the car & to our surprise, we were greeted by an extremely ANGRY woman, Linh the owner, who SCOLDED us shouting "I CAN'T TAKE YOU NOW...I HAVE OTHER APPTS!!" Ironically, the place was totally empty!! I pointed that out & she shouted "DON'T YOU GO THERE!!" My friend shared that she has cancer & her friend drove over an hour to treat her to mani-pedi & Linh sternly shouted "I DON'T CARE!! I CAN'T TAKE YOU!!" We were shocked at her totally inappropriate behavior!! The negative energy in there was thick! I told my friend we don't want an angry person with zero customer service skills doing our nails. We took a photo of all the empty chairs because it was so unbelievable. Linh came out running after us all the way to our car as if in a horror movie waving her phone to take photos of US!! I told my friend don't worry, there are nail salons on every corner, so we drove out of the parking lot & immediately spotted another nail salon across the street who welcomed us in with no appt though they were busy! Yelp rules won't allow the name but it's in the strip mall across the street & did great mani-pedi's! And they had wonderful customer service, which was non-existent at QV Nails. There are so many nail salons who are happy to have your business, no need to patronize one who displayed such bad behavior who doesn't appreciate the customers. read more

The 3 stars is for a couple of things - the first being that the salon smelled so strongly of nail polish that I almost left. I could smell it through my mask. There were no air purifiers or ventilation and the smell was intoxicating. Secondly, the requested payment is zelle or Venmo. I don't expect businesses to ask me to pay via those methods as credit card or cash are usually the most commonly used forms of acceptable payment.
