Since this place is still fairly new, I do like the cleanliness of this place. They seem to be taking care of the establishment so far. I also appreciate the online ordering system and the efficiency of it. Our drinks and food usually come out fast. We like to order the popcorn chicken as a snack. They give you so much of it. It has been years since I've step foot inside and it actually looks pretty decent given how bad the parking lot looks. I can see myself getting some work done if they have WiFi here. My kids were craving for some Boba. As for their treat for helping me do some errands. We ended up here at Quickly. We also ended getting some popcorn chicken and mochi waffle. Popcorn Chicken was a 4/5 for the price. It would have been a 3/5 if it wasnt for the good amount of chicken compared to other places. We decided to get Creme Brulee milk tea. It was a 3/5 for us. I think it was lacking the creme brulee flavor. For the Mochi Waffle was a 5/5. When you get your waffle make sure you take it out of the bag right away or rip the paper bag open to let it air out. It will end up soagy. Nobody wants a soagy waffle. Service was quick today. I think it because they were not busy when we got there. Around 2pm on a Tuesday. One of the OG boba shops to come to the US in the 90's. What a childhood classic to those who grew up in California. I loved getting the Honeydew Milk Tea and the Yogurt Shake from here! Can't go wrong with the popcorn chicken too. This location was actually pretty nice! Lots of seating inside and they have plenty of TVs and free WIFI. Some downsides: no public bathrooms for guests and they also don't allow outside food. I got the Caramel Boba Latte this visit and I was impressed by the perfect chewy texture of the boba! I nearly died. We came in because we were waiting for our food from Dairy Belle and saw drinks for $1. I literally stumbled into this restaurant. Outside the door, there were some caution tape next to the door and a cone and a sign on the window. But, there was also a distracting brightly lit Quickly light on the sidewalk and a bunch of other signs posted. It's basically Notification Fatigue but the physical version 2.0. So if people are still stumbling, clearly the signs are ineffective. This is a hazard for people with fall risk, poor vision, etc. and it is also NOT wheelchair friendly, NOT friendly to those with visual impairments. All you have to do is modify the step and turn it into a ramp. I'm glad that I'm still young and have a good balance. But it just takes one fall and grandma or grandpa is gone forever. Quickly takes over the old Taco Bell location in Hayward. I heard that the place had just Soft Opened, so I went to check it out. This place was not like other Quickly locations. This one was spacious. And the food and drink are made to order, so it isn't "quick" -- you have to wait while it is being made. The menu seems different as well -- more items, perhaps? I chose the Iced Green Tea (99 cents opening special) and a Popcorn Chicken. The wait was for the Popcorn Chicken as they make it from scratch. While waiting, I took time to admire the cleanliness and spaciousness of the place. While this was happening, more customers began to arrive, and the line went out the door. My number was called, and I picked up my food and drink. The Tea was cool and refreshing, while the Popcorn Chicken was fresh and hot with a little bit of spice. I got a green tea no sugar less ice and a fried pork chop with curry donburi. Green tea seemed watered down with tap water. Some tap water has a distinct taste and you could taste that in this tea. Fried pork chop and rice in the donburi were standard, but instead of putting curry on top, they just put lines of packeted taco sauce over the pork chop. The good: Quicklys franchise for boba bas been around since I was in high school. I consider it the OG of boba tea but also it is generally inferior to some of the premium tea shops that exist nowadays because the teas here are often flavored with powders and syrups. However, the upside of that is an affordable price (other premium tea places these days charge $7 for tea). The interior is very spacious and open. There is a lot of seating inside that can accommodate large groups. There's a lot of natural light and windows. They offer lots of fun snacks outside of popcorn chicken like NY chicken, Mochi waffles, fries and tofu. I chose the less ice option for my cantaloupe tea and they really did put very little ice. Most places where you request this still put a decent amount of ice so I was pleasantly surprised. The fried popcorn chicken was made quickly and you can add extra spicy powder on top afterward. The bad: Many drinks have the option online for "non-sweet" but this isn't possible with many flavors because the flavors are mostly sweetened syrups (the fruit ones especially). There's no outdoor seating. Sauces for popcorn chicken are all 75 cents each. I got my chicken "extra crispy" (an option to select online) but regretted that because it just made the chicken extra dry. The chicken would've been better with more spices. It also didn't have any fried basil like some popcorn chickens have at other boba spots. The interesting; They prefer you wear masks still (as their cashier sign indicates).
