Better than I expected! I got worried reading all the bad reviews. I didn't get a chance to make an appointment for my blood test, I showed up at 11:30 AM and was out the door and done by 12:30 PM. The waiting room was pretty small and there were a lot of people there. Despite the offices lunch break is at noon they said once you're in the waiting room they will take care of you but they do lock the doors so no one else can come in. I turned in my doctor's order form and insurance card. Once we entered there are 4 stalls for blood drawing. The tech was good, did 8 vials of blood for me. Very steady hands, no bruises. read more

I was hesitant to come here after reading some of the reviews, but alas, blood work needed to be done so I made an appointment and went in. It was a little bit of an odd experience, but overall I wouldn't say I had a bad time. There's no signage on the outside of the building for Quest, but once you enter the building there's clear signage next to the elevator to head up one floor & follow the hallway to the end. The waiting room is clean enough, and everyone was masked and socially distanced, at the expense of there not being enough chairs for the amount of people waiting. As other reviews mentioned, there's no one at the front desk, so you have to just go ahead and sign yourself in. When I checked in for my appointment at 11:15, the monitor told me it would be a 29 minute wait & asked if I would wait in the waiting room or outside. Since there were no chairs available, I opted to wait outside & have the system send a text when it was time to come back in. I left the waiting room and headed back to the elevator, made it all the way down to the first floor and out the front doors when I got the text to return to the waiting room (4 min after I signed in). A little annoying, but I was glad to not be kept waiting so I made my way back up. Once in the waiting room though, I stood waiting for my name to be called for another 10-12 minutes. I was a little bit annoyed when my name was finally called, but I was greeted by Nasrin (spelling?) and she was pretty quick and thorough with the paperwork, the blood draw, and the clean up. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. One day later, there's a small mark from the puncture, but no bruising. While she was drawing my blood I remarked on how busy it was in the waiting room, and she told me they were mostly walk-ins waiting for an opening, which could be a 2-3 hour wait. Seems silly to walk in when it's so easy to make an appointment. To anyone hesitating to come in, I would definitely suggest calling ahead for an appointment, be ready to check yourself in, stay in the waiting room, and once they get around to you, they'll take care of you. read more

They do say they open at 7:30, however no one gets called in till 8. I was here about 10 years ago and promised myself to don't come to this location again. I see nothing has changed since the last time i was in. Stood at the counter for well over 5 minutes while the receptionist blatantly ignored me, sitting right in front of me. Eventually i had to ask "am i supposed to stand here being ignored or should i take a seat?" She snapped back "i will be with you in a minute!" Should have maybe said that in the first place? All i wanted to do was drop something off. What a hassle for a 10 second job! Unfortunately this is the closest Quest to me. But i am going to make the effort to go somewhere else in future because this office just absolutely sucks. read more

My wife has tiny veins and has suffered through many unsuccessful attempts at blood tests so we are always apprehensive when we make our frequent visits. Today we had an appointment and only waited for a couple of minutes to be called in and we were SO fortunate to be assigned to Tracy. She was very pleasant as she completed the online setup, and then easily drew the required blood. She took about 2 seconds to get the totally painless draw started and was so professional in all she did. We still won't be looking forward to having these too-frequent blood tests, but Tracy's kindness, friendliness and professionalism was wonderful. We will definitely ask for her next time. Worst lab experience ever. The day before I had to get labs, I called to get the address and hours. The person who answered was sullen and hard to understand, and didn't even suggest I make an appointment, which it became clear I should have when I dropped in the next day. The room was crowded and stuffy on a hot day. The woman behind the desk was by herself, which is wrong for two reasons. One, she was overwhelmed. Two, she is terrible, incompetent, and should be supervised or preferably fired. While I was there the following things happened: she called a man's name from her desk then skipped him when he didn't come up. (He was sitting across the room, elderly, and hard of hearing. He had to come up and ask what happened several people later.) Several people were told the orders hadn't come in (see next paragraph). The woman complained to a patient how much work she had to do while other frustrated patients milled around due to her incompetence. My personal experience was a farce. I've had to get blood drawn on average every two months for the past five years and I've never experienced worse. First I was told my lab orders weren't in. This caused me some panic because it was late in the day and I HAD to get the labs that day, urgently. I was obliged to call my doctor and ask for it to be sent again before I went back inside. This time the woman found my orders in the "Faxed Orders" pile she hadn't even CHECKED the first time. (Which makes me wonder how many other people's orders were there but she "couldn't find.") I gave her my insurance card and license. Later she berated me for not giving her my insurance information. I gave the card back to her and she gave me back the Xeroxed copy. I had to ask for my card back. Her paperwork was barely legible and totally disorganized. THEN, when I was let in to the back, I had to wait a further amount of time when this person made a total mess of arranging for a gentleman in a wheelchair to get his labs taken (he ended up just sitting in the hall behind me, no privacy at all). And to top it all off, the "phlebotomist" was abysmal. I am a super easy stick and she managed to make it hurt like fire going in, and then I bled through the gauze immediately. I'm sitting here hours later with an ice pack attached to my arm -- the first time I've EVER had to do this. I am as white as white gets; my veins are both visible and palpable. This incompetence is staggering. I'd post the picture of my arm, but unfortunately it includes a manual gesture to said "phlebotomist" that I don't think would be appreciated by the Yelpmasters. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars and not one is because it was clean and I appreciate that. I will never come back to this location. Hopefully the new one in Irvine isn't as awful since sadly Quest is my only option. read more

I went in for a pregnancy blood lab and urine screening. The office was practically empty. Aside from the lime green chairs, the place wasn't very pretty inside. But the staff was very friendly, kind, and helpful. The blood draw was nearly painless! The woman who drew my blood was very sweet. I had a positive experience, and would recommend this location. read more

I've had a lot of medical tests in my life due to my conditions but this place is so far the worst one I've ever encountered. Ladies working here have absolutely no communication skills! They're not just rude. They tease patients, yell out what type of tests patients need, and use a very sarcastic tone. They got really bad attitudes and don't care about patients at all! Many of the people getting medical tests have something's going on, why would you make it even worse by making them feel uncomfortable? I guess they just don't give a crap about how they should be treating their patients. Since I had more than once bad experience with them, I decided to go to the one in Laguna Hills, and they're way better! They even told me there's a survey I can fill out, which of course this location never mentioned. I don't mind driving extra miles to avoid this place! read more

Came in for a timed test and everyone there was the sweetest bunch. Had to get my blood drawn 4 times for the glucose test and they fit me in nicely. Yes every time I popped back in after a hr in my car, there was a packed house. I recommend getting in at 6 (they open at 5am) if you're walking in and to avoid the wait. read more

The front staff at this location is so rude! I'm currently sitting in the office and the staff just laughed at a woman in front of a full waiting room. She asked why they no longer accept her insurance and the women at the front desk all burst out laughing and said "She wants to know why we don't accept her plan! Hahaha Because my company doesn't want to!" They also had the door locked when I got here, there were a few of us waiting outside finally a patient unlocked the door because the staff wouldn't open it. They misplaced our blood samples and didn't bother to inform us and on top of that they even claimed that that they didn't take the right amount of blood, when we saw the number of vials they took.These justifications are unacceptable, it shows their lack of professionalism. This review is for my phlebotomist Hina. She is very positive and cheerful even with so many blood to draw. She couldn't find a good vein so she pulled from the top of my hand. I was nervous as it is usually painful when drawn from there but she was really great! No pain. I would recommend her for your blood being drawn. As for the front staff they were ok. The wait was a out 2 hrs and it is packed. People were angry but since i am used to quest i know its a long wait so it wasn't too bad as i played my iphone game. read more

I'm not reviewing the service at this location, but the information provided by the Quest website. My doctor wants the fax number of my lab so he can fax over an order. I tried calling the phone number, and cannot reach a human being or press any number to get the fax number. I tried logging in to MyQuest, and all you can do is make an appointment. So here's the thing - From now on, I'm going to be requesting a phlebotomist, any phlebotomist, but the male who works behind the counter. This is the second time I have visited this place and had to deal with that man bruising my arm like someone slammed a sledgehammer down in the crook of my elbow. The ladies behind the front counter are pleasant and easy to work with. Make sure you've made an appointment if you're not interested in sitting and waiting for up to half an hour. And seriously guys, do not let the guy behind the counter touch you. I lodged a formal complaint about him once before for the ridiculous bruise he left on my arm, and it seems that he's still working there and performing to the same abysmal standards. Very important note: You should not have a solid, fist-sized purple mass on your arm after having blood drawn unless you have a pre-existing condition that can predict it. I do not. read more

This location is AOK for me! Better than the one on Laguna Canyon! I attempted to go that one before a doctors appointment and we couldn't even get into the door it was so cramped and crowded! My mom immediately said heck no and we walked out! I came to this one since it was closest from where we were coming and from and it was flawless! To me the best times to come to Quest without an appointment are: -Immediately when they first open up around 6AM -Late afternoon before they close (around 3ish) It is hard to snag an appointment online so if you need to fast for bloodwork your better off coming early in the AM, luckily for us my mom's orders was non fasting so we came later in the day. This Quest is a bit more spacious than the Laguna Canyon one and didn't have to wait an eternity to be called back, no more than 20 minutes! The ladies that work at the front desk run efficiently and get the job done. No you might not be called in the order you walked in but if you come correct with the right info such as lab orders and insurance card it does make things go smoothly. My mom said she had a great lab technician who took her time since she is in a wheelchair and made her feel at ease. From now on this will be our go to Quest location ^___^ read more

After reading the yelp reviews, I came here expecting the worst. Surprisingly, EVERYONE WAS NICE. The people in the front, the back, they were all super. I have zero clue what anyone here is talking about. As for waiting a long time - make an appointment. I was able to make an appointment for the next day around my desired time and I had maybe a minute wait time. Avoid at all costs. This is the worst lab I have ever been too. The staff handed us incorrect collection containers 3 times. I went today for the 3rd time and the lady in the front handed me the wrong container. I asked her if she could check the computer to make sure I was receiving the correct container. She did not. I had a feeling that she gave me the wrong container. I called our pediatricians office and I was supposed to receive 3 containers not 2. They have delayed the diagnosis of my daughters disease due their incompetence. read more

The lab that I went to is at 4050 Barranca but is not listed. Their website says that they open at 7:30, but they recently changed that to 8:00 am....but didn't update their website. Obviously everyone showed up at 7:30, so the patients are angry and the employees are in an awkward situation. People are fasting....they should open earlier not later. Their sign in process uses an IPad, but it takes a few minutes per person. WAY too slow. Not a great way to run a business. read more

Made an appointment online for 7:40AM on a Saturday. Was in and out within 20 minutes, very quick and easy. I highly, highly recommend an appointment for Saturdays - after I checked in, I overheard several walk-ins be told that the earliest available time wasn't until 9:45AM or 10AM unless someone cancelled an appointment. read more

This was my first time going to any Quest Diagnostics. I normally get all of my lab tests done through LabCorp, however, I had to get a test through my employer who partners with Quest. I had made an appointment for the earliest possible, right when they open. I didn't have to wait long at all, maybe 5 minutes max. Tracy was the phlebotomist that performed my tests including drawing my blood. Normally, it is hard for the phlebotomist to find veins in my non dominant arm, but Tracy had an angled arm resting device and she had no issues! My arm already feels back to normal! I had good experience at this site until this time. The receptionist was rude. They changed the procedure after I checked in from my phone, I was instructed to take a seat and wait for call. Inside, I saw my name as first on the screen and thought I would be first to go in. After 15 minutes, people were called who came after. I went to the receptionist who apparently had seen me sitting like an idiot for 15 minutes and did nothing said I was not called because I did not get my temperature taken. Then she told me to turn around and read the signs posted "Do not sit down before temperature taken". I was following the direction from my phone. During my 15 minutes wait, I saw her rudely sending away people who had no appointment and had language problem. She was very impatient with people speaking with accent. She stayed behind to glass screen and was difficult to be heard. I was taken in after and I got jabbed (never hurt that much before) with a sizeable bruise after. I guess I should not have talked back about their procedure. From reading other posts, other complained about the receptionist at this site also. With many foreigners in Irvine, the sign of Do not sit down is only in English. read more

I walked in to pick up sample collectors for a preordered stool tests for my child. As I did not have an appointment, I had to wait with a number gotten from an iPad like device. THIRTY MINUTES LATER, Because i had to open the door for an elderly lady in a wheelchair, I was out of the waiting room for 1-2 minutes. When I came back my number was gone from the TV screen. No staff available for me the ask what happened until 10-15 minutes later, I then approached a technician when she stood behind the counter and she told me they called my number and I was not there to answer so they cancelled my number! She told me to wait until they finished with the other people with numbers on the TV screen! AFTER ANOTHER 15 MINUTES, a different technician grabbed me the sample collectors in a blink of an eye, that I had to wait for 45 minutes! I asked her to give me a number so I can call a supervisor to complain so she gave me the name of Fabian at 951-334-7940. I called and left a message. I prefer this location over any of the other locations in the area. Its located on the second floor. It is Clean and modern. Never had a problem with staff. Sometimes it can get quite busy so I highly recommend making an appointment! I like that there is a screen with an estimate of how long you will have to wait. My labs take a while double check and verify due to the fact that they are post kidney transplant labs from out of state. read more

Volume is way too high at this location. Even with an early morning appointment, I waited 30 minutes (not horrible, but not great). Walk-ins were being told 1.5 to 2 hours (this was at 6:45a.m.). Room was beyond full with people standing in the hallway. One very elderly lady was pale and shaking. She spoke with the receptionist and told her it was due to the fasting. No empathy demonstrated or action taken. This poor woman was there when I arrived and was still in the waiting room when I left. I asked her if she was okay and she indicated she was going to stay to simply get it done. Absolutely inhumane. The tech I saw was fine and she apologized for the wait and the crowded conditions. Her comment was it would help if people showed up to work... Get it together, Quest. read more

I had no choice to come here for due to my blood test... Receptionist was ok... But who took my blood was so rude. She hided her name tug so I don't know her name but she was Asian and I think she was Vietnamese and old lady. She was so unfriendly and very unhappy person. She really sucks too for took my blood. The staff at this office was unprofessional and borderline incompetent and not in compliance. The tech who administered my urine sample today was not familiar with the forms I brought for my DOT pre-employment testing, even though it had instructions on them and I even offered to clarify the instructions which were crystal clear. A manager assisted him for a moment, but did not seem like much help. When I began to ask the tech and the manager a question, the manager continued to walk away leaving me and the tech there - this was extremely unprofessional and did not inspire an environment of customer service. When the tech carelessly opened the urine collection container, the individual sample collection bottles fell out on the ground and he picked them up and still decided to use them for the samples. This is absolutely unacceptable and undoubtedly in violation of normal procedures and regulations. After collecting the samples, the tech said I was finished and can leave, but he did not offer me the Donor carbon copy of the form, nor did he return my ID card - I had to ask for both of them. This level of carelessness should not be acceptable in a place where such incredibly important work and testing is administered, and warrants further review and inspection. I will seek a more formal avenue of complaint on this experience. I was a walk-in and was satisfied with the wait-time of 45 minutes, but if you care about things being done safely and properly, I absolutely cannot recommend this office. If you require testing that determines your eligibility for employment, do yourself a favor and do not risk it with a visit here. read more

This is the worst medical lab I have ever been. Very long wait, very poor service, Rude technician, incompetent technician, no proper sanitation. The technician before even taking the sample asking for copay of $150 beyond what they will be charging the insurance company which is over $750 which is a rip off. this was a CBC test for annual physical check and suppose to be no copay. For your own sake don't go to this place. read more

I would use the word horrifying in terms of their customer service. I was a walk-in patient so I had about an hour to sit there and watch them interact with people. I have never seen three employees be so across the board disrespectful to people. They frequently rolled their eyes at people. They refused to help people make appointments and insisted they call the hotline. One patient asked how much she should expect to pay. The man interrupted her before she could finish saying he had no idea and it was her job to call the insurance company. As she tried to clarify she was asking about her copay he interrupted her twice once to speak to a person who came in minutes after her. Finally he listened long enough to realize what she was talking about and told her the copay amount. The two females behind the desk were just as bad, interrupted people, and laughed at them when the people were confused. The tech that took my blood was much more pleasant. The facility was filthy and felt like a cattle call. All blood samples were taken in one room without a curtain dividing the patients. There was hair and dirt on the floor, it looked like the floor hadn't been mopped in weeks. I honestly have been to hospitals and doctors offices in remote parts of Africa that were nicer than this place. I will never go back to this place. It is beyond me how it is in compliance with any health and privacy codes. read more

After reading some negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant, boy was I correct. My wife had to get blood drawn by what I can only assume was an in-experienced monster! She got poked way too many times in BOTH arms and was left with an insane looking bruise and pain for more than a week!! Greatest experience today with Glinda (hope I spelled that right) and Danny. My 7 year old son was terrified and needed to fill multiple vials to complete his labs. Even with the Early morning chaos with a non compliant large child both phlebotomists kept their cool and stayed so focused on keeping my boy calm and comfortable as well as patiently guiding me on how to hold him successfully, They ended up needing to poke the other arm as His vein ran out and with that brought another round of chaos. Danny stayed so focused on my son and really helped him thru. I have never had such a smooth experience with my children at a lab. I was reluctant coming back here cause I had a bad experience pre covid with crowds and grumpy front desk staff but today was the complete opposite.
