When you enter building LabCorp is the first door to your left. I definitely made the mistake of walking the whole entire first floor. You can physically check-in on the clipboard and you give the technicians your paperwork and insurance card (if you have one). You wait to be helped and you're out as soon as you know it. I've had only good experiences so far with the 2 Labcorps I've visited in Irvine but I just had my blood drawn today (the gal was lovely) but it was SOOO PAINFUL. I usually only feel a pinprick or barely anything at all but it felt like her needle went in too deep, so painful now I can barely bend my arm...I've never had this happen afterwards... I'm a cancer patient and have been coming to this location for years. They are crazy busy, understaffed, and are still pleasant and professional. After years of being poked weekly, my veins are hard to stick. Amor is my favorite and finds it every time, but the rest of the staff are skilled too. I've only had a few times where they've had to poke me more than once and that's pretty good considering how often I need a draw. I don't like getting labs drawn at any other lab. read more

It was easy to get an appointment, I arrived early and was called on the time of the appointment. I waited inside the room for 15 more minutes and when the technician came he was polite but the blood test was painful and I have a bruising from it. I had Deana for the second time today, and I am so glad I was able to have her as my phlebotomist again. She was extremely pleasant and actually made an effort to hold conversation with me, which is not something you see much at most labs. I return to this same LabCorp not only because it's close to home, but because she works at this specific location. She was very patient and understanding when I asked for a little extra wrapping too, as the bandage hurts me when I fold my chubby arms lol! I went on a Friday afternoon and the wait time was crazy! They were quoting people 1 to 1.5 hours. My wait was around 45 minutes. When I got there, the check-in computer was broken. I stood there, ignored, for a good 15 minutes before I realized there were 2 other kiosks I could use lol. No staff or customers bothered to tell me this. After checking in, I waited an additional 45 minutes. I will say, though, that the staff was very nice, even though they were clearly stressed, overworked, and understaffed. The guy that drew my blood was an absolute angel. I highly recommend making an appointment before coming here, and I do recommend this location. read more

I'm a hard stick, sometimes getting poked 4-5 times, he did the draw in 1 stick, and it was painless. I couldn't believe how bad this place until I experienced it myself. This is to take a blood work for physical. Arrived at 9:05am, saw about 7 people in the waiting room and was told 20~30 minutes. They finally call me at 10:10am to register and put me into a queue again. At 10:40am , I told them I have a work meeting to at I1:00am need to attend and ask if a simple "taking blood for physical exam" will happen before 11. This location is quick and easy. I came in as a walk in, which was not available at the other location I normally go to. There were only a few people here, and I was seen within 15 minutes of arriving. Staff was friendly and answered questions. This place is quite terrible in terms of customer service. My doctor sent over my request for lab work twice, and they set appointments for me. Then, a few minutes later, they canceled or moved the appointment to an unavailable time and date (because they couldn't find the DR request again). Whenever you want to talk to a live person, you must submit on their website and wait for someone to call back. If you get a callback, the person will only do one task (like call the DR to send the lab request again). Even though they say they will call you back, they won't; you have to submit another request to get them to call back. Each time I talk to them, the person can not find anything that was sent. I submitted a request on their website to talk to a manager or supervisor. A person called me back and said they were not managers and were looking for my request. Then, they called me back and left a message relating to something completely different from my request. It is time to find another company to do these that has some level of customer engagement and service. These labs are vital to my health, I cant keep getting sent in circles and ultimately not having the tests. read more

I am giving this place 5 stars only because AMOR the technician was terrific at finding my vein and smooth. I usually do not have smooth procedures. I have deep veins that are hard to find and every time I go to get blood work its a nightmare and I come out being poked and bruised up. AMOR did a great job. The best I've experiance in years. I will be coming again to this location and request him. I can't say the same for the man that did my poor husband. My husband never has issues with blood work but this time he almost threw up. Not to mention the lady ahead of us passed out or was going to pass out and it was the same guy my husband got. I think they should really check up on that guy. read more

Labcorp is the worst at scheduling appointments. It is impossible to get a hold of a person. There NEVER is an opening when scheduling online, literally NEVER! And they canceled my appointment a day before. I have to get my blood work completed for a critical appointment next week. This is ridiculous. Last month when this happened, I had to go to the Tustin site an hour before it opened, and I waited an hour, making me late for work. When my wife went a few weeks ago, they ran the wrong panel. 2 staffs are working at the front desks as front staffs & they are also going back to draw blood. They seems very stressed out for busy works, picking up the phone, checking incoming fax, & answering each patients questions. No greeting or update while we were waiting. Sadly, the waiting area was full, we had to wait outside of office on arrival & wait for empty chairs inside. I spoke to patients who was also waiting 30 mins,, even with an appointment. Without having an appointment; more than 1 hour we had to wait today. I was told that they are actually NOT short staffs today. This office only has 2 employees all the time. I would never return to this place of business. I am very I'll and came in to get my blood drawn as requested by my doctor. After checking in, I was told they don't accept my insurance. I asked if they were sure since my doctor advised me to go there, Victoria said "I am sure, I've been here for many years". I called my doctor and they were shocked to hear that. Doctor tried to call their office but they wouldn't answer even though I saw the phone ring. Doctor asked me to tell them to look up my group number since there must be a mistake. I asked Victoria to do so, she hesitantly checked and turns out they do contract with my insurance and checked me in. I asked for her name, and I wrote it down piece of paper. Once I was called in to get my blood drawn, Victoria tried to grab the piece of paper out of my hands. I asked her "what are you doing" to which she replied "you come here causing trouble, give me that paper". I told her that I'm just a sick person needing blood work done, I also told her that she's very rude and disrespectful. Her coworker did my blood work and apologized for everything. My doctor will be calling their District Manager to file a complaint on Victoria and I will be doing the same. read more

I called the Barranca location today (only took 7 calls to get someone on the line) I asked if they are taking walk-ins, the guy told me not today but that if I go to the Waterworks location he would be there shortly to assist me, so I said ok that I would. I got there maybe 5 minutes after the call, I've been sitting here at the Waterworks location for 30 mins & no one is here, there's a sign saying they're closed. I can understand that they're closed but why in the world would the employee tell me to go here & that they would be there to assist me as a walk in? What was the purpose? To go out of the way to mess with me? I have tried calling the Barranca location back to see if I can get some type of understanding about why I was told to come here or if maybe the guy was just running later but no one's answer the phone and I've called 5 times and again no one answers. I would have made an appointment for a Labcorp closer to my home but unfortunately all week I've been checking for openings & all the locations say 0 availability online & when I tried calling they would say they can't make appointments over the phone, and that's after calling nearly 10 times in a row trying to get someone to answer the phone & not hang up, yes I've had someone answer 3 times & immediately hang up & the lady that told me they can't make appointments over the phone did so in a rude manner, I didn't realize I had offended her by calling a place of business, let alone warrant rude behavior for calling with a valid question. read more

My daughter went to get a Covid-19 antibody test, having been sent to this lab because they are the provider of the only antibody test that is reliable, made by Roche. When she went in, she asked the phlebotomist which test it was, and she didn't know. The results came back negative, but were based on the Abbott test which has horrible reliability so the test means nothing. Why not be transparent about what you are doing? Waste of time, money and possible exposure to virus for no reason whatsoever. read more

Let me start by saying that I was so nervous because this appointment was not for myself but my one year old baby. Being a first time mom and taking my daughter I had so much anxiety leading up to this appointment. I also wasn't sure if I needed someone special or a special office for pediatric lab work but they can do pediatric labs at this office so that was good. Overall I was pleasantly surprised that everything went great! Zero complaints or issues at all! 5 stars! As I walked in I was glad to see that the waiting room had chairs spaced 6ft apart. I checked in on the screen and sat down only for a few minutes before the front desk staff asked for my insurance card and lab order. After giving them my items I only sat down for a few more minutes before we were called back. Our phlebotomist was Miguel and he did amazing!! Very friendly and my daughter didn't flinch. Of course she cried after she realized what was happening but she wasn't hysterical or anything. He found the vein quickly and got her on the first stick! I'm so thankful for Miguel and I'll definitely be asking for him again when I go back. read more

While appointment setting was convenient, facility is spotless and staff was capable.....I have been WAITING 27 DAYS for blood test results. I have checked the online patient portal and sent 2 emails. Twice, email auto reply reads "Your labs are not yet final. Your report will release 48 business hours once all tests finalize." posted. A call to the Waterworks front desk has not been returned. I have Blue Shield PPO so insurance is not the issue. read more

I am the absolute worst poke, I have legitimately no good veins and always have to be poked 5+ in different spots (usually have to take from the hand veins). Vicky knew EXACTLY what she was doing and she poked me ONE TIME in the left arm and got the vein. ABSOLUTELY PAINLESS. She was incredible and very nice. She deserves a raise. read more

Never been to this lab. It's a small clean little office and wasn't busy at all during a fri afternoon, which was nice. I used the "wait in your car" option and waited for a text to come in. I got it and arrived, but since no one was up in the front I thought I would just wait sitting down, but because of the seating area (and the gentleman sitting in the only seat that was visible while social distancing) I couldn't see the guy in the office come back to his seat so I got up to check after a while and was sent in. They were efficient and nice, but I could definitely hear them joking to each other that I was the no show and that I had been sent a text a long time ago (repeatedly). I know I should have waited at the check in desk for someone to show up after being called in, but it felt embarrassing to have to hear that so blatantly. Honest mistake on my part, but I'm going to just check in in person instead of waiting in the car next time 5 stars for efficiency, but I'm going to stick to my usual lab closer to me read more

Labcorp's online appointments were available sooner with a better selection of times than Quest and the facility on Waterworks Way in Irvine is convenient. Too bad the automated check-in kiosk was out of order, because it would have provided more personality than Victoria, the receptionist. She mumbles with a difficult to understand accent, and it was hard to figure out what she needed. After being called 25 minutes late, Victoria told me to go "in back". There were 2-3 rooms and she acted annoyed when I wasn't sure which one to use. As a cancer patient, I've had 20-30 blood draws at other doctors and labs in the past year. It's quick and almost painless, and the techs usually comment that I have nice veins. Victoria did the blood draw and it was the worst one I can recall: - She did not ask which arm I preferred and prepped my right arm without asking. - She went for a much smaller vein off to one side instead of larger ones right next to it. The puncture was rather painful and no blood went into the ampule. - Without comment or apology, she changed to the left arm. It's the first time I've ever had a re-do. - Both arms were sore the rest of the day with small bruises inside both elbows for a few days. Nothing horrible but I've never had that happen before. Avoid this facility, or ask for a different tech than Victoria when you make an appointment. read more
