This Labcorp location is definitely high traffic, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get their lab work done, but I was genuinely impressed with how efficient the staff was. Even with some computer issues happening, they still managed to keep things moving and get people in and out as quickly as possible. It also really helped having someone up front directing patients. I didn't catch her name, but she was patient, organized, and clearly knew what she was doing while handling the crowd. I came in for lab work and my 1-hour glucose test, and Kevin did an amazing job drawing my blood. I absolutely hate needles, but he helped keep me calm and made the process quick and painless. Walk-ins are welcome, parking was easy to find, and the facility itself was kept very clean despite how busy it was. Overall, a really positive experience. read more

I visited Labcorp recently for lab work. The waiting area is small, but they had several front desk staff and three self-check-in machines, which helped things move quickly. Quest has a bigger waiting area but only one check-in machine. However, its online appointment system is much better than Labcorp's--easier to use and more reliable. If Labcorp can improve its online system, the experience would be close to perfect. The check-in process at Labcorp was smooth, and I didn't wait long before being called. Because I have elderly parents, what I value most is the service. This place has been consistently FANTASTIC with my Mom and Dad. Every phlebotomist has been exceptionally good with my parents, especially my Dad - who is deeply afraid of needles and has dementia (sometimes he swats). But the staff is always so kind, warm, and patient with my parents. We're there every 6 - 9 weeks for blood draws. Quest is a dumpster fire. This place can be a little chaotic but they are ultra friendly and the wait is 1/4 the time than Quest. Get here early. The worker asked "do you have an appointment?" My Dad said "no." The worker said we can help you without an appointment. My Dad asked if he could help him set an appointment. I dreaded going to get Labwork done here as it was my first time @ this facility. I read the reviews and was worried that I would encounter a problem. It was quite the opposite! Several days before I arrived, I created an account on Labcorp.com. That seemed to help quite a bit. I checked in as a walk-in at around 2:00pm. I was called back immediately after I gave my lab order. Make sure you have that with you by the way, as there was a lady there, who had been waiting 2 hours because she didn't have her lab order and was waiting on her Dr. to fax it to LabCorp. I have had trouble with people getting blood out of my veins all my life. I've been prodded and poked and had painful experiences with blood draws nearly all my life but the last two times at this LabCorp location that did not happen. This time I had Kelly taking my blood, six vials of it, and I asked her to take the blood out of my hand with a butterfly needle or a pediatric needle. She said, let me just look and see if you have any veins in your arm. She came back and said that found a vein in my arm but if it didn't work, she would go right back to my hand. Well, Kelly is the first one in probably 40 years who has gotten blood out of my arm without me being in horrible pain afterwards. I didn't feel a thing, she quickly got all the blood that she needed and it was just amazing. I don't know why this location has such bad reviews, but I have found the staff, friendly and efficient, check-in is just great, and the two people who have taken my blood here have gone above and beyond to give me a positive experience. If I have to get my blood drawn again, I will be coming here. read more

Wow, they distilled the essence of medical lab work down to the hyper-efficiency, and personal care, concern and charm of a slaughterhouse. That, and they've transferred all of the traditional greeting, check-in, and customer service functions over to the customers. Machine-grade check-in (reanswering the same questions I answered on their online, impersonal appointments system) while the workers sit around and recount their weekends with each other. In and out with maybe five words directed towards me. Better service at Taco Bell. The good news is I was in and out in ten minutes with a 7:30 appointment. Good luck. read more

It's kind of funny to rate a lab but my experience was positive. I should have gotten a name of my phlebotomist because she is probably the first person to get my vein/blood in the first try. Also to get me a smaller needle! I usually go and sometimes max out between people and arms ( certain number of attempts allowed per person per my right and left arms apparently) being a human pin cushion going home looking like a junkie because they can't find my tiny veins. But she told me to turn my hand to a diff angle and with the smaller needle made such a difference! I don't even really have a bruise there! Wish I could say thank you again! Made the process much less dreadful and painful. The process is quick and easy at this location with plenty of free parking. I wish the phlebotomist didn't take so long to draw blood from my daughter's arm with the torniquet Applied so tight that her arm was hurting so bad and tingling too. I went yesterday too ( had made an online appointment) but was told the system is down so had to go again today. Been here multiple times for blood work. They usually see me within 10 minutes of me walking in but once they were so busy I waited half an hour. I realized that people with appointments were given priority so I will definitely be making appointments going forward. They are usually efficient but can be overwhelmed due to the amount of patients. Fairly stress free experience. I had one lady who poked and prodded and couldn't find my vein leaving me with bruises. Lab Corp. in Irvine 4980 Barranca Parkway. There's only two places if you're on Medicare that you can get a blood test. All of them are booked weeks in advance. I try to do a walk in filled out. Everything had my order with me the place was packed I said I wanted to wait in my car with you're allowed to do. This place is a little crazy, a bit unprofessional and unsafe. With an appointment it was a 1 hour wait. I was texted by the office to come in at that time (an hour before I was actually seen). When I walked it the room was full of people. The sign on the counter said MAX PERSONS 8. I counted 12 people standing in the lobby, NOT counting myself and the staff at the desk, so there were actually 16 people in the room. I was finally called back to a room where I waited another 15 mins. Although the sign said "the area is disinfected after every use" the surface/chair where you put your arm to draw blood was dry, had pen marks, and was visibly dirty. The technician was in a whirlwind. She flew in, didn't introduce herself. Was carrying paperwork for another patient (as well as myself) and was very Wham-BAM-Thank you-Ma'am about poking my arm. I visited the lab monthly when I was under a treatment that requires a lab test for 6 months. I have to say that ALL my life I have had problems with blood test, is hard to see my veins and usually lab technicians have to try several times and with needles for kids before they success, causing bruises and pain; I can't donate blood for the same reason :( When I first came here, 2 persons tried and after 3 shoots, they called Fariba (lab technician), she immediately determined that she needed to use the "butterfly" to make it easier and in 5 minutes and zero pain she got it! After that, I requested her always, no matter if I had to wait longer. Thanks Fariba! you're the best ;) P.S. the only thing that I don't like about LabCorp is that I received the invoices later on my mail, even if I asked directly to charge me in that moment. I tend to forget, so I wish I could have paid right in the lab. read more

My whole family comes to this location for blood work since it's close to our house. Never really had a major issue but my mom went there last week for blood work and the women who drew her blood seemed to not have any knowledge. As my mother explained, the lady was unable to find her vein and did not try her other arm. She came home with pain in her arm and an awful bruise since it's clear the blood vessels were damaged. The first photo is the night of the blood draw and the second is today. Exactly 6 days since it happened and it's worse. Do not want attack any of the employees since not all of them are like this. We are told by family doctor and it's website also stated walk ins are welcome. My parents at age of 80+ yrs fasted for 18 hrs and got there around 9:45am. This labcorp site refused to draw blood as it needs appointment. I tried to find a spot but no appointment available for at least the next 10 days. The staff are just standing there without any patients around. How this company make money with such attitude to their clients. How testing personal treat their patients so unprofessional. It seems to me their staff has no motivation to maintain the basic service manner. If paid less you can choose to leave but not to treat your patients without basic respects. I would ask my doctor to prescribe me to Quest Diagnostics not Labcorp. No more testing with this company. read more

I came here last week as a walk in, I was the 3rd person outside the office at 6:50 (they open at 7). They were able to take me in, I was out of there by 7:30. The phlebotomist was quick - just lacked personality... Easy to find, it's in the heritage medical plaza on the first floor. I was very nervous before today as my veins are tiny and two other labs weren't willing to take me because it's always hard to draw blood for me. The entire team was helpful and polite, They answered all my questions and were very helpful. I did not feel the needle-stick for my blood draw and I have no bruise which is very rare for me. This review is for their billing department, which is nicely said a joke. I have had the same PPO insurance for the past 4 years, never paid for lab work before. Few weeks ago I had routine lab work done at my doctor's office, as I have for years, and I got three bills from this company, one of them for over $800, with the mentioning they contacted my insurance company and I was not covered, so they denied paying for the service. Putting the aggravation, stress and time wasted aside, I contacted the insurance, they told me they never heard from these people. Both I and the insurance lady thought for a few moments this was a scam. Then she called them, and told me Labcorp made a mistake and I do not have to pay the bills. A few days ago, I got another bill from them for the same service. Called them, and after minutes on hold, I got this rude woman on the phone who dismissively told me she had no idea why insurance would not cover for the service, that the last bill is no longer $800 and that I need to pay. Called my insurance back, again, they never heard from Labcorp in regards with this bill. Scam? Or just extremely unprofessional employees who do not do their job? Or have no idea what they are doing? Not sure I want to trust such a business with my health related matters. read more

I went to Labcorp recently for a lab test. I made a appointment and only waited 10 minutes or less before I was called in. FARIBA, the nurse was the one that took my blood test. I told her that I couldn't tolerate any needle or pain. I warned her that with the slightest poke on my skin, I would cry like a baby :( She told me in would be better if I lie down on the bed so I wouldn't feel the pain that much. So I lied down on the bed and she withdrew blood so quickly that I didn't scream at all. This was the best experience, I ever had doing my yearly blood test. Thank you so much, FARIBA, you are a miracle worker. I look forward to coming back every year for you to do my blood test. I really wish I saw the reviews before I chose this lab. This office is a total MESS! I was told to go to the bathroom for a sample, and to then head over to a room so they can draw my blood. I was in there for a solid 20 mins, and all I could hear is "lock the door ! So happy we're done!" All while I'm still waiting in the room, mind you I arrived well before they closed. They were so shocked to still see me in the room; were very apologetic, and did everything quickly as possible. I hope I don't end up butchered like some of the photos I've seen on here. Stay away from this place. Very poor managed lab. Very rude and unfriendly staffs. The are very slow and have attitude. They don't follow the COVID protocols. They don't clean the tables after each patient! Very unprofessional staff. Moreover, the results are unreliable, I checked my TSH on Thursday it turned out 5.8. I was sure it is not correct again on Monday , 4 days later it was 2.2! I panicked when I got the abnormal result and my doctor recommended to increase the dose of my medication, I am happy that I had it re-check and did not rely on their inaccurate result. read more
