Got blood samples drawn today by Christy. Its been years since my last blood draw and I was just feeling reluctant but it was all inside my head. Christy is a wonderful person and it shows! She asked me how I was and I said a little nervous. To my surprise, she said "I'm sorry." I don't remember ever feeling so cared for by a phlebotomist or any healthcare professional. I felt saying that was above and beyond her call of duty. She talked to me about my work and I loved the countdown 3-2-1 before inserting the needle. It somehow made the pain less, which was hardly any pain at all thabks to Christy. She looked at me when speaking which shows compassion. She checked that all tests were covered by my insurance and let me confirm the name on the blood vials and urine cup was correct. The doctor told me to drop off at Quest. Unfortunately without an appointment you have to wait an hour plus to see someone. I couldn't wait. I'm too ill. So I knocked twice on the door and no one answered. Finally, when somebody left I walked into the door and called for help. The guy who came looked angry. I told him I needed to drop off. He insisted that I had to wait. I told him I couldn't wait. He said I had to wait a second time. I insisted that I was too ill. So finally he snatched the bag out of my hand and walked away. I had an appointment on 4/09/25 at 8:20am appointment at Quest 4950 Barranca Pkwy, Unit 209 Irvine, CA 92604. I was called to room 4. The lady who worked there told me to hang my purse on the door. After drawing blood, she told to me get urine sample and bring it back to the room. When I went to collect my urine sample, l left my purse hanging on the door. After heading to the restroom, I came back to the room quite promptly to get a pad and saw that my purse was on the chair where I sat earlier when she did the blood drawing for me. She was bending her back and going through my purse. I was shocked and did not asked her why she checked my purse. I wrote an email to the site manager on the same day, but have not heard back anything from him. read more

This was genuinely the best experience i've had with my blood being drawn. I have had terrible experiences with my blood being taken and I am now terrified of it. I came in early for a walk in appt and got in within the hour. I let the woman who helped me know I was scared and she gave me assurance. I told her I always get pricked a lot and my veins roll and she spent so much time making sure she had a good spot. I had to have four vials drawn after a 12 hour fast and was very nervous bc i always pass out or cry (embarassing) once she started, it was painless. I barely even felt the pull of the draw. I have been coming to this place for the past 10 years without any issues until this recent visit. I got my blood drawn by this Latino girl and I am not sure what she did wrong, I ended up with a bump above the injection area, it started to become painful to touch and bend my arm shortly. Even after the second day. This has never happened to me. I wonder what happened to the good technicians there?! I scrolled through what ppl commented and their pictures, I see someone had the same thing as I have(bump), I wonder if it's done by the same girl. I scheduled an appointment for 10:40 am and waited an hour before my name was called! It's completely unacceptable for customers to have to wait so long when they have already scheduled appointments. At least 2 customers ahead of me in the queue had to leave because they had meetings to attend. It begs the question - why even have an appointment scheduling system?? Lobby was completely full since they were backed up and it was impossible to observe social distancing without customers pouring into the hallway. I'm only awarding a second star out of empathy because the phlebotomist I spoke with informed me they were short-handed and that many customers showed up early for their scheduled appointments. Regardless, Quest needs to anticipate this and prepare accordingly. I'll only come back if I absolutely have to, but I will be exploring other laboratory options out there. read more

I walked in to a quite busy little Quest Diagnostic. Of course, there was no receptionist. All the Lab techs were busy performing blood drawn and answering questions to the walk-in customers . There were no eye contacts or even a smile. I was very thankful when Tammy came out to speak to another patient in the waiting room. I approached her with my questions and still with a smile on her face she took the time to provide optimal customer service . She asked me to sign up at the Kiosh , I didn't have to wait long . She accommodated my walk-in shortly after I signed in. I wanted take this opportunity to say "THANK YOU, Tammy!!!" She is awesome to say the least . Complaints 1. There is no front desk person, check-in is by iPad only. This is fine for the most part, but there were two check-in stations and both were being used by people who did not know how to use them. Waited ten minutes to get to a kiosk. (I was the only person waiting in line.) 2. There is no way to call and ask a question prior to coming in and no way to ask a question when you get there. 3. I scanned my ID and insurance card at check-in. When I got back to the room, I had to get my insurance card out again. Why bother having us do it at the kiosk if we are just going to have to get it out again. This was the most irritating part of my visit. Per Venessa their phebotolidr, at this location they do not have any small size needle to draw the blood for pediatric patients or people who have small and hard vein to draw blood. I have had to go to Quest several times for lab tests and the last experience I had was at this location, which I considered to be very good. There was a very sweet blonde phlebotomist who completed my labs and was very bubbly and informative, so I wanted to see her again. (Unfortunately, I do not remember the name but Tracy rings a bell.) this was good because i feel like it is rare to see happy faces at all of the Quest locations I've been to but it could just be the environment. This location is a little harder to find from the outside, but once you step into the building there are signs that point you in the right direction. The building isn't the most updated, but Quest was clean with about six seats that were spaced out inside. It is always recommended to get an appointment but sometimes, that is not always offered with our busy lives. It does say that without an appointment it may take up to two hours, though it is confusing because when you check in you are given an estimated wait time (Mine initially said 10 minutes but it was about 40 minutes) The lady up front was nice in the past but seemed more hasty so had to be very straight to the point asking if I have an appt and then directed to the screen to check in w/ the option of waiting in the car or in the lobby (I chose the former.) I was able to meet w Tony today who was very clear in his instructions, patient, and gentle! Obtaining the blood was not painful at all! read more

Standing room only. Add a few more chairs please. There is plenty of empty space in the middle of the large waiting room but only about 8 chairs pushed against the walls. Everyone standing in the middle of the room? Surprised this hasn't been addressed yet. There is no front desk. Is there an office manager that could look into this? Also, I don't think if it matters if you make an appointment or not. They schedule too many people at the same time slot. Plan on a half hour wait. Make that 40 minutes and counting. The worst. It is not pleasant to do labs but the experience here cannot be worst. The system is as absurd as it gets. Check in is automatic, people are struggling with the machine and instead of having someone at the desk one of the lab assistants was checking people in which causes more delays for the checked in. They give you a time window to check in, once you do that you see other People that checked in after you get in the line before you, nonsense all around. If you check in within your time window they should respect the order. I was 3rd and now I have 6 people in front of me that checked in after me, again nonsense. read more

Ashley, the lady who did my son's test is so friendly and professional, my kids get traumatized when they see needle, but my daughter that had test 2 weeks ago had opposite experience and this time I asked Ashley to do my son's test too. my son had the same experience he has food allergy and recently after using antibiotics we had to go to emergency room two times and his doctor ordered a diagnostic lab test for him. read more
