Stood in line waiting for 20 minutes and no one at the front desk helped a single person waiting in line. All of the chairs were packed. No one even acknowledged anyone standing in line! I walked across the parking lot to LabCorp and they took my information immediately and got me waiting. Won't be going to this location again. read more

Have tried 2 Quest locations in Irvine and both have been huge disappointments!! Sand Canyon location has nurses who can't draw blood without bruising your veins (hire phlebotemists, not amateurs) so I try the 4950 Barranca location being hopeful of less painful results. My vein was so badly punctured it took 2 weeks to heal and still not sure of its total healing. This is preventable and this individual should be fired. I was fortunate enough to meet Nasrin who was very skilled and I hardly felt anything and NO damaged vein. Insult to injury, my results were wrong and the wait was too long in spite of having an appointment. The front desk personnel (one male and one female) seemed very tense, and frustrated. You would expect more from a Fortune 500 company like Quest, but, you will never get it in these locations. We deserve better service and treatment. read more

First time here. Great experience from finish to end. Once I booked my lab appointment, I received several text and email reminders which I appreciated. Then the morning of the appointment, I received a text with a a link to click when you arrive to the facility. You can wait in your car and click the link from there, then I received another text saying it's time to go inside. They were very punctual, my appointment was for 6:40am and I was called in at that time. The phlebotomist was friendly and the lab draw itself did not hurt at all. I felt compelled to write this because the woman who drew my blood was so nice, professional and comforting, but the entire trip was anxiety inducing because of the woman at the front desk (Dana). It seems like this is a pattern in the other reviews. She is short with patients, which I don't mind. Everyone has something they might be dealing with. But when the technician who was going to do my draw came out to discuss a mix-up (I was told I could walk in and be accepted right away since I had a test that needed to be done at a specific hour. Dana had sent me outside to wait and didn't say I might not be able to do it. She acknowledged that it needed to be done at a certain time and didn't give any indication that it might not happen.), Dana berated her and pointed to a sign in the office and asked repeatedly, "what does this say? What does this say?" As if she were scolding a child she was fed up with. This was in front of a room full of patients. I was shocked and nervous because the woman she was patronizing was going to be sticking needles in my arm and I would have been upset if someone had spoken to me like that. But she was incredibly calm and handled it so professionally. I left and forgot my insurance card and went back up, and there was a man checking in with Dana. She slid out my card and didn't say a word. I just stood there because I assumed it was for the man checking in and I was standing 6 feet apart. Finally I said, "is that mine?" And the man said it wasn't his...so I walked up and saw it was my card. It was just strange and very rude. The front desk really needs additional training on how to treat customers/patients, as well as how to treat employees. It was unacceptable all around, no one deserves to be put down like that, especially in front of so many people. There are so many other ways to discuss any potential mistakes or mix ups. read more

I had a pretty good experience at this location. I made my appt online, which was easy and convenient. I was so nervous when I sat in that chair, I was shaking. My phlebotomist, NASRIN (5 star) was very nice and helped get me through. The man who was sitting at the check in reception desk (2 stars) didn't seem like he enjoyed working there. He was short and came of very rude. Maybe he had a bad day, I don't know... But it's pretty scary and uncomfortable already for a patient to be there in the first place. I took my 14 month old son to take his first blood test and the things that happens was very unprofessional, first they were very rude they didn't explain anything to us, second this lady name Dana who was very harsh on my son and rude to us she took my sons arms and stared twisting it around very hard so much that he started crying from pain of his arm before they even inserted the needle and it almost seemed like she was doing it intentionally, third they didn't use the right sized needle for my son so they had to re-inject the needle multiple of time and still they couldn't take his blood. As a parent I don't recommend takes your child to this lab because of their rude and unprofessional staff. read more

I have never been treated as rudely as I have the last 2 times that I've been at this company. I just had the best lab appointment ever! The online estimate was 2 minutes for a walk in. So, we went straight there. No one in waiting room. Clean waiting room. Seats were distanced 6 feet apart. Used their I-pad to sign in and used the provided hand sanitizer. My daughter was called back within a couple minutes. The technician realized she was nervous and talked to her the entire time to keep her mind calm. I will definitely come here again. They lost my blood work before my surgery and I was unable to have my procedure done. They say that have my paperwork but I never showed to give blood. I was the one that handed them the paperwork so their logic doesn't make sense. Update: they now found the blood and are saying they did not draw enough blood to get it tested. Most rude and ignorant place I've ever experienced in my life. Receptionist ignored people and gave them an attitude. Board shows wait time for each patient but the time never changed. An older gentleman actually walked in the back and seen no one working. Everybody in the waiting room was shocked. I was called next and the lady that took me was so rude. I commented about the long wait and she states" I just got back from lunch". How does that concern us waiting? Then this ignorant person had the audacity to tell me "You should of made an appointment." I told her is this how you were taught to treat patients? Where is your custom service, I asked? I made an appointment ,I'm pregnant and fasting the only availability they had at noon. I get there there's people everywhere I had to walk through at least seven people sitting in the hallway and people all over. The Lady who greeted me had terrible customer service was incredibly rude and told me I would need to leave and wait a minimum of 30 minutes even though I've been fasting I'm very ill and need this blood work desperately. I couldn't take the nausea medication or anything else that I needed so I'm incredibly sick and shaking.I have a high risk pregnancy that I'm having issues with. I would have went in and sat there all morning had I known that there was no point in making a actual appointment. PRO I read so many poor 1-star reviews about their staff being disrespectful, but honestly I was surprised by how caring my phlebotomist was. I was telling the gentleman about how back then I used to get queasy when I get my blood drawn and he went out of his way and found a bigger room where I can lay down instead of sitting in a chair. I also told him how I feel super dehydrated waiting in the waiting room and he made sure I had water before he started drawing blood. After he finished, he didn't kick me out immediately, but allowed me to sit for a few minutes even knowing how many other people were waiting. I guess now I understand the wait, but safety first so I appreciate him taking the time! CON 1. By 7:20am, you can already expect a 45 minute wait. I thought I was early going at 7am, but they actually open at 6am. Tried to walk-in, but still ended up waiting a good amount of time. I would recommend making an early appointment if you're planning to come here. For walk-ins, either come right when they open or right before they close! 2. I can see why the wait is ridiculously long though. They're ridiculously slow in inputting data on top of using slow computers. I believe I waited another 20 minutes inside just to get my data in their computers. 3. My fault for not making an appointment...total time spent waiting + blood draw = 1.5 hours. read more

All early morning appointments were booked up, so I went over at about 7:30 am. The room was packed. I easily logged in on the iPad and the large TV screen in the waiting room shows you your estimated wait time (45 minutes for me). I like this better than the old system of writing your name on a paper list. I read a book and after about 35 minutes the lady at the desk called for my blood work orders & insurance card. That was done quickly & she explained What I needed to do with the papers. A few minutes later I was called back for the blood sample. A very nice older Vietnamese woman (I didn't get her name) told me how to fill out the forms and then she took the blood. She was very gentle & efficient. She had me check that my blood samples were labeled correctly. I'll return to this location in the future. read more

The wait time here is terrible! I mad an appointment online 3 weeks ago so I wouldn't have to wait. It's been 30 minutes past my appointment and they haven't even taken my paperwork. I have been fasting all morning for this blood test. They are taking walk ins ahead of appointments. What is the point of making an appointment if you have to wait the same as walk one. The staff doesn't care I told them I was an appointment and that it was past the time and she said that they where busy and everyone is waiting. Go to some place other then quest. Call your insurance tell them quest is shit and you want a different company. If I ever get seen I'll update this with how they are on taking blood. There are friendlier facilities, with more competent staff. If visiting this facility is unavoidable, think twice if you see Dana ( a heavy-set, middle-aged woman with shoulder-length grey hair) at the reception desk. Upon entering the testing office, I was uncertain of my appointment time, so I stepped to the side to review my appointment reminder link. While I was standing to the side checking my phone, Dana the receptionist--in a raised and aggravated tone--said "[s]ir you cannot sit down, you need to check in first," I politely replied "okay," and then proceeded to the reception desk. I apologized and said "I didn't notice the sign, I was checking the appointment time in my phone." To which she replied--in a condescending tone--"[w]ell! there are signs ALL OVER the place--even on the chairs." I said nothing in return. She then asked me to sign in, which was done immediately upon request--using a nearby digital kiosk. She then proceeded to say nothing and rolled away from me in her chair. Assuming I had finished the check-in process, I began to walk towards a seat. She then--in an even more irritated and raised voice--said "Come back, sir! I need to take you temperature before you can sit down!" Mind you, the entire testing facility was empty--that is, there was no "waiting room noise" to talk over. I then calmly returned to the reception desk, and politely complied with Dana's--now demands. She then took my temperature, which was acceptable--per COVID safety policies. She once again said nothing afterward, and proceeded to roll away in her chair again. A moment of zero interaction had passed, and I again assumed we were finished; wanting to wait comfortably, I began to walk over to a chair. As I began to walk away, she called--in an incredibly rude tone--"Sir! I need your insurance card and lab order!" I calmly walked back over--saying nothing--and provided my insurance card and lab order. Rolling her eyes at me, she then takes both documents--saying nothing--and rolls away a third time; she noticed a colleague was standing in earshot, and said to him "SOME PEOPLE just walk right on by!" The phlebotomist who seemingly didn't quite clearly hear what was said (or possibly wanting to ignore what was said), replied "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you." She then repeated--even louder "SOME PEOPLE JUST WALK RIGHT ON BY!!" As she began to turn and face the reception window again, she looked shocked to see me still standing there; I'm sure she was embarrassed to learn I probably heard what she said. Without saying a word, she handed back my insurance card and I cautiously began to take a seat. All other interactions with various staff were satisfactory. Dana was one of the rudest medical professionals I've ever dealt with; she was impatient, condescending, intolerant, and completely unfriendly; I was never greeted when I arrived, I was treated very poorly, and I believe Dana needs to find another another line of work, or be retrained under supervision. This patient-facility experience has made me consider visiting other labs. I will not utilize a facility with such disrespectful and discourteous staff. read more

Worst laboratory I've been to. The front desk lady is loud and rude, she is very intimidating, she makes it hard to even ask a question from her. I tried making an appointment with their automated system 2 days prior and I wasn't able too. Every appointment that the automated system offered me as soon as I imputes my info it was gone, so I decided I'll just walk on. My wait time when walked in and signed in was 31 min. But it took the 2 and 1/2 hour before they called me in. So if you have an option to go to other labs do so or set aside at least 2 to 3 hours for your lab work at this lab. read more

I came to this location for a drug test required for a new job. I had to wait for over an hour when there were only a couple of people in the waiting room. The staff is sooooo lethargic it is almost painful to watch, specially when you are holding the urge to use the restroom. I walked in at my appointment time and signed in. The woman behind the counter doesn't look happy. She asked for the name, I ask if she wanted the paperwork, she gives me a short response in a thick accent. She's not happy BUT DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON THE PAYING PATIENTS. We wait about 20 minutes until we're seated and the bar. There are 4 stations back there with a crap load of people waiting. The person who draws my son's blood isn't very personable and it's very difficult to understand her. She pulls out a HUGE needle for a 10 year old. I've had lots of blood drawn over the years and I'm pretty sure that's not a needle for children. He's in pain the entire blood draw. THAT'S NOT NORMAL and I'm unhappy. But what can you do? I don't want him stuck another time so I just ask him to deal with it for a few more minutes. Poor guy. He just had blood drawn over a week ago and it went really smoothly. If you have a good phlebotomist, you hardly feel anything through the entire experience. I wouldn't classify her as good or experienced. This place is hit or miss. My grandma had to visit this location in order to do a complete metabolic panel, a CBC, and a stool test. The first day, both my grandparents went together, and showed the doctor's lab orders to Dharmesh. He claimed that this was some sort of neck test that he was not understanding. They were asked to verify with the doctor and then return, even though my grandparents already told him that tests are clearly written and she does not need some neck test. We re-verified with the doctor and then my grandparents went back with a handwritten note specifying the three tests that were needed. On Feb. 12, an associate completed the bloodwork and they were handed over a kit for the stool AFB test without any explanation or instructions. Today morning, Feb. 13, my mom called the office to get instructions on the kit, and the phone was answered by Patricia. Patricia was unwilling to help and first asked if they could come back to the lab so that they could be given instructions. My mom explained that my grandma is 80 and cannot keep coming back to Quest, we just wanted instructions over the phone so that my grandma could quickly complete the test and we can get results back. The main concern here was that they were not given any directions while in the lab even though a Quest employee is required and supposed to clarify and explain any take-home tests. Patricia then asked my mom if my grandma spoke English... what does this have to day with anything?? My grandma does not speak English very well though she understands it, but my grandpa was with her and he is fluent in english. Patricia is then telling us that my grandma was not given directions because she does not speak English. No Quest employee ever asked my grandmother when she was in the lab, so they apparently assumed that my grandma did not speak English. This is completely uncalled for and a very prejudiced attitude. At that point, she handed over the phone to her lead, Dharmesh, who then explained the procedure to my mom. We called back and spoke to Vanessa to get information on the supervisor and or, manager so that we could lodge a formal complaint. She seemed reluctant to give out information and claimed that she did not know the last name of the supervisor and that they do not have direct numbers or voicemail. I left a message with Vanessa, but I doubt if it will reach the supervisor. One of the worst experiences and our family will never visit this Quest location ever again. read more

Amazing staff and experience! I loved that this location not only acknowledged me when I walked through the door but also made sure I wasn't lost or forgotten in the waiting room. The woman at the desk asked if I had an appointment and asked me to check-in. Once checked in she helped me access my doctors orders. She told me thank you for having an appointment and that I'll be seen next. Honestly I've been to some locations who didn't tell me to check-in, even though I respond to the text messages, and I end up sitting their like a dork even though I had an appointment. The gentleman who helped me to the back also said thank you for having an appointment so we can better help everyone with their orders and know what to expect for their day. Come to think of it, it has to be difficult to get a variety of orders and not be ready for any of them. I understand how appointments can help them and am glad my whole appointment was so quick that my husband asked if I even did anything inside. It was that efficient. I'd recommend this location to anyone who is picking up quest tests or getting their blood drawn. The gentleman who drew my blood was like a gentle vampire because I felt nothing and he got all he needed for the tests. A+ location read more

The reason I would recommend this place is because of the excellent employee that drew my blood. Her name is Hina Patel & she was wonderful! I didn't feel a thing & she was fast, efficient & nice. rude staff and terrible service. had an appt set up and still had to wait 40 minutes past my appt. dr informed me they had sent over the order to quest so i didn't need to bring order with me. i walked in for my appt and nurse said they didn't have the order when they didn't even try to look it up in the system??? so he told me they couldn't do the exam. was told by a nurse later that quest diagnostics does this a lot that if you don't have the paper order in hand, they will LIE and tell you they don't have it in their system. if you have to get a lab done, protect yourself and have a copy of everything that you need with you. read more

So this rating is for the phlebotomist who drew my blood this morning...I barely felt the needle and she was done with me before I even realized she had started! Now I think that's amazing! She was the only little slightly older Asian Lady there and she was quick and no-nonsense but as soon as I thanked her and told her she was the best phlebotomist I've ever had, it put a big smile on her face. This place is crazy busy, even though their website says they are open at 7am I learned today they are actually open at 6am (until further notice)So imagine my surprise when I showed up at 7:05am and had 14 people ahead of me! They told me it would be about an hour wait since I was a walk-in with no appt. After the paperwork was taken care of and I was called in, I think the overall time was about 1.5 hours. For a busy place they were pretty efficient and as polite as they could be under the circumstances, I did not have a bad experience overall. But it would have been nice to have accurate info on their website or even when calling their automated lines about their business hours. Make an appt everyone! You get priority over the walk-ins and ask for the Asian phlebotomist! read more

Here is my story; I have been using this facility since they opened their doors, unfortunately twice the debt collectors have contacted me regarding my payments! I am fully covered by my insurance and I'm not sure why they give out my info to a debt collector?!!! Last fall 2018, I resolved the first issue (0ver $1000) by going there, after they checked they could not find such a debt?!! So they apologized for the mistake?!! Again yesterday , March 01, 2019, I received another letter from a debt collector regarding another payment of $200?! I am so upset, I don't understand why they are so careless , I'm going to contact them on Monday this is just absurd! So buyer be aware! read more

We used this lab after my family doctor's nurse was unable to do a blood draw. We went in around 10am, and the waiting room was almost empty. After a 10 min wait, the phlebotomist (Hoa) was able to bring me back and perform the draw. It took her longer to fill out the labels and paperwork than it did to draw blood.She was one of the most competent phlebotomist I have seen ... i am a very difficult stick and she made it look easy. I would highly recommend this lab for anybody that need labwork. read more

(Naomi and Patricia) were treating my sister like crap. They made us wait over an hour when they said it would take 30 minutes. There was an older woman who asked them for help and they acted like they didn't hear her so my sister and I had to offer our help. I have never met lower people in my life.
