I will give this place a 3 star and I tell you why. I came here on a Tuesday and it was packed. It was to the point were all the seats were almost taken and about another 3 people waiting to use the iPad to sign in...I almost ready to just come back another day but I figured i was there already and it was my day off, so I figured I'd just wait. I was finally called about 50 minutes later. Alan who was the person that took 4 bottles of blood was very pleasant to talk to and was done right away and gave good instructions for the stool sample kit that I needed to do. So, being done in an hour wasn't so bad considering how busy they were. On Thursday, when it was pouring rain, I decided to come back to return the stool sample. The place was basically empty. There may have been only 5 people waiting to be called. But this is where it gets a little ugly. After I had checked in using the iPad, I had waited for the 4 girls to finish that was working there chatting up a storm about something that had happened job wise(at least that's what it seemed like from what I couldn't help overhearing). So after they were done...2 had left and 2 stayed in the front desk. I had asked NICELY if I can just drop it off or do I had to wait to be called and one of the girls SNAPPED at me saying "we will be right with you when we get a chance". I can tell by the tone of her voice, she was probably the one that was being in trouble or maybe that's just what happens when you're handling blood and stool samples all day...you get a little moody. After about a couple of minutes, the other girl ask me to fill out the form with my name and birthday. And I was done. So, first visit 4 stars, 2nd visit 2 stars. One thing I noticed about services like these, they tend to get mostly low reviews. I guess it just goes with the territory. I originally tried making an appointment online but they give you an appointment a week later. Don't bother trying to call their automated phone scheduling system...it doesn't work. read more

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I showed up at 5:30 am, which is 30 minutes before opening and there was already a huge line formed with about 10 people ahead of me. What is AWFUL is that they take appointments before walk ins, so people who walk in and sign in and wait less than 5 minutes, are immediately taken in. I had to wait 2.5 hours to just get a urine test. It's ridiculous. Also, it's almost impossible to make an appointment. You need to schedule WAY in advanced. Just be ready to wait a long time to pee in a cup. read more

My visit was quick and efficient. It usually is with an appointment, with the exception of some busier days. As someone who gets my blood drawn regularly, this is my go to clinic specifically because of Nurse Nasrin. I got lucky this time, and got Nurse Nasrin. She is amazing! Since I am prone to fainting she always hears my concerns and lets me lay down on the table for a blood draw. Not only is she quick and professional, but she is also very kind, gentle and caring. She always goes above and beyond to make sure I am okay as I always get dizzy and light-headed afterward a blood draw. She always offers me a towel, a cup of water, and time to rest. She also always makes sure that I am well enough to leave the clinic. Absolutely the most caring and kindest nurse I've ever met! If I ever get lucky to have her as my nurse, I immediately feel at ease, because I know that I will be in good hands. She always takes such good care of me whenever I get her. She is also the only nurse that knows how to draw from my tiny, complicated veins in one try. Most other nurses have to poke and prod me several times on each arm before finally getting a blood draw. Nurse Nasrin is one of the rare health care professionals that makes me feel seen and truly cared for. I highly recommend this clinic and Nurse Nasrin! read more

I came at 7AM with my drop-off stool test and a form to do a blood test. About 20 people were waiting for their turn. First thing I asked was where I could leave the drop off, lady at the front desk told that they would take the stool together with the blood. Alright, I signed up via tablet and took a seat. After an hour another lady called me to get my blood drawn. I asked where to leave the stool test, she asked "You have a stool test, where it's in the papers? Ah, here it is. Uh, oh, you used a usual test cup, this is not ok. (asks colleague) Oh no, it is fine. (colleague asks when was the test taken)." I respond "hour and twenty minutes ago". Her colleague answers that the test should be dropped off within 30 minutes, I tell her that front desk told me to keep the test until my turn in line, she apparently saw how many people were there and how much time it might take. "Oh I'm so sorry, if you want we can take it, but it won't give us any results". Of course I refused and told her that I would bring the test again tomorrow. Returning to the blood-test lady, she was very talkative, asking some random questions where I come from, etc. A couple of minutes and test is done, I asked where to dispose drop off test, she, with disgust on her face, like if it was smelling really bad (of course it's wasn't since the cup was sealed), told me to take it with me and throw it away somewhere else (!). Well.. I left in an awful mood. In about 30 minutes I noticed the place of the blood test started inflaming heavily, now it is a pretty large bruise, about 3 cm in diameter. Next day I came again, blood test lady was at the front desk, I asked her what she thinks about the bruise, "Oh it is fine, it would heal itself". Never in my life the blood test has been taken so carelessly. Later I received Quest Diagnostics survey: "Anything we could do to further improve our service?" Yes, please hire professional staff, provide training for them, not on actual people however. read more

I feel they are doing their best with the demand and crazy restrictions these days. My experience was pleasant (as pleasant as a blood draw could be lol). There was a bit of a wait because I didn't make an appointment but I did notice that the people with appointments seemed to go in right on time. Would recommend but will definitely make an appointment next time. read more

Transparently racist. Rude, unprofessional, poor attitude and angry, abusive behavior directed especially at the Asian women that walked in. No appointment slot available at all at any day in the morning, but 5min wait time for walk-ins, according to the website. Only way for a diabetic to take a fasting-required test without fainting from hypoglycemia is to walk in in the morning. Why are they taking out their issues on patients that have no other choice due to their incompetence? Big white lady in the front, barking at all the Asian women to clear the hall because no doctor wants you here. White man that took over doesn't let you talk. He immediately and constantly shouts that he can't hear you as soon as you start talking. Angrily tells you to sit down and wait, then forgets about you. Then forgets about you again after slamming drawers, ripping up papers, angrily sighing, shouting down everyone that comes in the door. Forgets about you AGAIN. I had to leave after they skipped me twice and I didn't feel like getting shouted at for the third time. I hope they relish what power trip they get to go on during the pandemic, because to everyone else watching, this is an embarrassment to the profession. Walked in about 40 minutes prior to them closing to get my three-year-old daughter's blood test done. Her doctors office had forgot to fax or electronically submit the request so the employees stayed with us past 5:00 to make sure all the paperwork was in and my daughter was taken care of. They saved me and my three young kids a second trip by going out of their way to help us. Amazing group of workers. read more

This is one of those businesses where its hit or miss, there is no grey area. If you go in, have no problems, and blood is drawn, and results are sent on time, That's worthy of 4 Stars in my opinion. First off, they must have had an all-hands meeting, because all the problems stated before, I never encountered. The young woman in the front had issues with my lab orders being LabCorp, but I've always done my labs at Quest, she basically took care of it by talking to my Physician. She didn't have to, she could have sent me to LabCorp, but she chose to help me. A+ My Phlebotomist was Dharmesh, nice guy, found my vein real quick, and drew blood real quick. Painless, effortless, efficient... AND I HATE NEEDLES. My only critique would be to hire more than 3 people for a shift. This is a management/corporate issue though, not the employees problems. If they just had 1 more person (even an intern!), it could eliminated a lot of stress, which is where I could see these problems stated below could happen. It's a stressful job! RUDE RECEPTIONIST. First time to the lab since covid and lady was rude. During these stressful times you would think they would be nicer.

When you call you CANNOT talk to an actual person which is beyond annoying, they only have their horrible automated system that gave me the wrong location for my works drug test. I went to the location that the automated system said to go to, signed in on their iPad, since there's not enough staff to speak with a receptionist directly, so after waiting 25 minutes I was called up just to be told that they do not do drug testing at this location and that they would call around for the nearest drug test location. Why isn't it clear on their website or have the correct information on their website??? It is absolutely ridiculous that there is no receptionist to answer phones, I work in a healthcare corporation also and I know how frustrating it is to the employees when corporate makes these horrible decisions. It adds stress on employees and makes patients angry, who then take it out on employees making them even more miserable at their jobs. I know it is not the employees fault but the horrible corporate people who don't care about patient care and simply making money. This company really needs to think about their patients and less about how much money they can save with their awful automated system instead of hiring a live person. I didn't have a choice to go here because it is for work, but if I did I would not choose quest!!! I went to the quest location this morning, as I am out of the office all day long and my temperature is being checked several times a day I told the front desk (Danny) I prefer to check my wrist temperature instead of forehead. He told me that No, told him fine show me something in writing again he did not have it. Asked for the manager and he gave me a cell phone number that might be his. Anyway, after waiting and coming back there was another lady that she said she will talk to the manager and after 10 minutes she comes back with a paper showing that they could get the temperature from the forehead or behind the ears. Anyway, after I agree to take my temp, Danny tells me that I have to make another appointment as the previous one is not active any longer. I hate this place with all of my being. I'm pregnant and unfortunately this location is right in front of my OB and my house and the place my insurance is billed to. No one is ever at the front desk, the staff are consistently rude, and wait times are ridiculous. Even with an appointment I've had to wait 30+ mins. Without an appointment you're looking at on average wait times of 1.5 hours. For my glucose test I was told I wouldn't have to wait at all but again waited 30 mins and would have waited longer if I didn't keep asking 3 times for them to start. FYI glucose tests require 3 sets of blood tests over the span of 2 hours of waiting so when all was said and done I was here for almost 3 hours. It is worth the short drive to the other location in Irvine. Less wait times and nicer staff. read more

Terrible lab and there is no one at the lab or at the register to help you. They have made it automated and self registration by a stupid machine. If you walk-in without a prior appointment, and starting self registration, the stupid machine takes all of your information including your driver's license, insurance information. and the end, the message is that they have no more appointments. A silly process. Save your time and do not go there at all. They are trying "save" money. read more

Do not make appointments with the Quest Aliso Viejo location. They still make you wait the same as if you never made the appointment. I arrived 20 minutes early, registered and told them I was present. The staff knows you are (physically) there but they ignore you, even after you spoke with them the intake nurse? said "...we just want to make sure you are here." . What a stupid this statement! If you can avoid Quest Diagnostics, do it. They are unprofessional, rude and not patient oriented. If could give them a minus star rating, I would do it. As for myself, I will NEVER use them again. Came in on a cloudy Monday morning for lab work without an appointment. There were 11 people in seats and 4 people in line to check in when I arrived at 7:59 AM. After checking in on the iPad, it was about 25 minutes before I was called up for my paperwork and insurance card. The receptionist was pleasant and professional. I was called in around 8:37 for my labs, and was out the door by 8:47. My phlebotomist was a young woman with dark hair; I think her name is Maria based on the certificate posted on the wall in her room. She was great! I'm a difficult draw at times but she gave me the slightest initial poke, and was so good at changing the vials that I didn't feel a thing! She made the oft-dreaded experience effortless and I am grateful This visit met my expectations for a good experience. There were 4-5 people in the waiting area, I signed in and waited approximately 20-25 minutes. Would have been out in 35 minutes if I had drank more water before arriving. I'd thought it was going to be a blood test. Staff was courteous and professional. (Would be 5 stars had I been able to make an online appointment, like most medical labs I've been too. This dude name TONY was so rude and unprofessional to say the least. He put on the tourniquet so forcefully on my right arm. He pressed his finger around trying to feel for the vein but could not find it. Even though that is the easier arm. I've always get blood from that arm and never have issues any where I go. So he switched to my left arm at which point I politely informed him that it is the harder arm to get blood, he rudely said "trust me!" and he put the tourniquet with in the same forceful manners that he snapped it. I can hear him cursing under his breath the F word. He then put on a new tourniquet and proceed to wipe the alcohol on the site but did not put his gloves. He poked me twice in that arm and did not hit any vein and proceeded to connect the tube to vial and got a few drops of blood. Again with such bad attitude he yanked the tourniquet off and put on my right arm again. That's when I showed him my vein where other phlebotomists get blood from without trouble. He ignored me and forcefully pressed his finger around that area trying to find the vein, STILL WITH NO GLOVE!!! He proceeded to stick the needle once he find the vein WITHOUT Sanitizing the area on the right arm even though that is the area where he used his bare finger to feel for the vein. IS this the quality of service and professionalism I can expect from Quest Diagnostic? I've always gone to LabCorp and the 1 time I tried Quest because it was closer to the Dr office that i visited. Is this the safety standard set by Quest diagnostic? Rubbing your bare fingers around patient's arm to feel for the vein then proceed to stick them with needles without sanitizing it and cursing, dropping F bomb when they encounter a challenging situation? read more

I've had the worst experience. I went yesterday morning to do a blood test. I told the technician that I have tiny veins and asked to use the butterfly needle which she did. She had to poke me 3 times in different areas to find the vein and was able to get some tubes. An hour later she called me saying that she needs to take more blood since what she got isn't enough and asked me to come back. I went back the next day and complained about it and showed them that my arm was all bruised. They wrote the complaint and said that it shouldn't have happened and will report it to the supervisor. They promised me that it won't happen again and will have the most experienced technician do it. And yet they had 2 other technicians which they said are the best to poke me 3 more times and bruised me really badly. I was in so much pain and used the ice pack for 4 hours. This lab is very unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone ! read more

Slow and unproductive and there's only 3 people waiting in the lobby. The lobby is so quiet at the moment I can hear the workers in the back having conversations and laughing. I've been to the Quest Diagnostics at LA on Prairie and Manchester and its a lot quicker than this, and there's usually more people there! This place definitely needs to step it up I've been sitting here for 30 minutes and the TV in the room still says that I'll be called up in 10 minutes (which hasn't changed since it's been displayed) . I've been to this specific Quest about 20 times and have only once had a visit that didn't leave me completely stressed, frustrated and grossed out. Happened again today. Scheduled an appointment for 8:10 am. I arrived to a small waiting room FILLED with about 20 people. It was complete chaos. For specifics read Gabriel N. review from 3/9/2022. I ditto everything he said about the lack of human contact and abundance of confusion present. In fact, one elderly gentleman broke the plastic part of the check-in machine where you scan your license, leaving only one machine available. Thirty minutes into my wait time I asked out loud if all the other -by now- 25 people had an 8 am appointment. One lady said she had a 7:30 am and had been waiting an hour. (By the way we could hear all you employees chatting and laughing in the back and not a single patient was called in the 30 minutes I was there). I got up and left. Oh and thanks for the THREE emails I got after I scheduled my appointment asking me to be mask compliant - I can see how necessary this is with the condition of your waiting room both in cleanliness and occupancy. read more

Hit or miss. Desk staff is impatient, not very friendly or approachable. Lab technicians vary. You might get one who is warm and friendly, or you might get one who treats you like an insolent child. Really? Sadly - this is the lab used by my doctor's office. The experience here is annoying enough to make me contemplate switching doctors. read more

Don't believe the Quest website when they give you the current wait times for walk-ins. I came in at 7am on a Monday and the website said 30 min wait. By 8:30am I had to ask for my paperwork back and leave because I was running extremely late for work. At that time there were still at least 10 people ahead of me on the list. This is because the front desk lady kept insisting that appointments come first. The problem with that logic is that there are only 2-3 nurses calling names and taking blood and they all take 10-15 min to complete each job. If the three 7:30am appointments get called and completed by 7:45, then the 7:45 patients get called next. With that happening every 15 min, the people who came at 7am are still waiting to be called at 8:30am because now the 8:30am appointments need priority. Everyone in the waiting room who didn't have an appointment were miserable. I really think this place should be more realistic with their walk-in patients that it was probably going to be a 2 hour wait. One person even brought it up to the front desk lady and she yelled at him and said 'It's not going to be 2 hours!' I just think at the rate they call patients that they shouldn't even have walk-ins at all. read more

To begin with I have to say that I was quite scare by the pictures that others posted about their bruises. However once I got to the place parking was easy to find. I did not had an appointment but I was able to check in when I arrived. They have a tablet where you enter your information, once you check in you are able to see on a screen your estimated wait time. For me that day about 10 minutes The staff was ok I did see much interaction between them and other clients. Once I got to the room to get my blood dawn the phlebotomist was very nice and explained what she was going to do. Everything went, well no bruises no drama. I'll give this place 4 stars I think that the personal can be more welcoming and courteous, specially with the elderly. read more

Located in ste #209. Review specific to phlebotomist, Hoa. 12:45 walk in & was thrilled to find an empty waiting room. Pro: They've improved their system w an electronic iPad , so you can sign in wo someone having to be up front. Con: Sitting uncomfortably for 10-15 minutes listening to a personal cell phone argument in Vietnamese from employee Hoa. Whatever personal issue is going on should not be carried over to the patient/ customer. Her anger was still apparent as she barked rudely at me as I was at her station. Also, I noticed incorrect information she made on the computer paperwork, but was told not to look or ask any questions when I brought up my concern.
