Since I booked the hotel on a 3rd party app (Priceline) I was a little nervous when nobody would answer the phone on a Wednesday after noon. It was quite a drive so I was ready to relax! The office is only open 8am-12pm! There is a convenient note on the door when you get there along with a sweet note with your key. Whew!! May I recommend leaving that on your voicemail recording so people know? (Office hours) This is a quaint 12 room hotel. The other amenities are open on the weekends. Extremely clean, quiet and cozy. I would definitely go back. Great way to go into Yosemite through the South Entrance. The town of Oakhurst itself also has quite a bit. The Idle Hour winery is right above the hotel if you are hungry M-Wed. I didn't try it this go around.

This place is the perfect spot to spend a weekend! We arrived on a Friday and traveled up to Yosemite and back on both Friday and Saturday. It is about 1.5 hours to get to the valley (with no waiting at the gate) but I would choose to stay here every time! The staff are all wonderful, there's live music on Saturdays, and they even have a groundskeeper named Meow Meow (a cat of course) who you will see lounging around the property. The room was very clean and there was tons of parking. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and exploring in the park. The river is also very beautiful!

9/3/22 Queen's Inn by the River was convenient since it was about a 30 min drive from Yosemite. We were there for the weekend and the price was pretty reasonable. Another plus was that they are dog friendly so we were able to bring our pup with us. When we got there, we were confused as to where to check in and get the keys, but the friendly staff directed us to the check in spot and our room. Upon entering the room, there was a welcome letter with some helpful information inside. There was also a take out box of muffins they hand for us stores in the fridge since it was hot outside. They offer free wi-fi but unfortunately it didn't work for us even though we entered the password in multiple times.... Another thing to note is that the walls are SUPER thin. The whole time we were there, we heard the people in the room next to us doing *cough cough* you know *cough cough* that haha. It was annoying but at least they left a day before we did so we had one night of quiet with no excessive moaning until 1-2AM.... Honestly, besides that couple next door, I would be open to staying there again.

Booked Room 5 after a ton of deliberation over similar small, local venues for my annual personal retreat. What an absolute treat! I was looking for a room that gave me the peace of the winter hills with the comfort of a good soaker tub and boy did Queen's Inn deliver! From my first phone conversation with Jamie I felt welcomed and cared for like a long lost friend and not a customer! My service dog and I arrived Friday afternoon to find Jamie setting the fireplace timer so that we wouldn't arrive to a chilly room. We had a lovely first conversation with Rocky, one of the most charming facility owners I've ever met! We ultimately had several lovely conversations over the three days I was on property and if you get the chance I can't recommend listening to his stories enough. The back deck, river and lawns were my pups favorite part (her city puppy brain was absolutely blown by all the critters to smell and all the room to explore.) And I couldn't get enough of Idle Hour Winery and Restaurant. I'd planned to only have one meal on site but ultimately never moved the car even once. The care and attention the entire team lavished on us managed to make us feel cared for but not crowded. We joined the Wine Club and will be back often. We're sold for life!

Hmmmmm O.

Cute and quirky. Don't expect white glove but it's nice and the winery and staff are great and their menu looks great too.

The best little pet friendly hotel in an amazing location. Set along a river with a restaurant up the hill and the wine tasting room - beer also available as well. Large comfortable patio with a firepit. The room was cozy and safe with a connected patio facing the river. Parking right by room.

Friendly staff, nice restaurant just few feet away from the cabins. They have 4 cabins (we were in 12). Nice beer garden to chill at night. This place is hidden gem of Oakhurst. It's quiet, but it's happening at night w/ live music. The entire compound is quaint and clean. I like the country side feel but their location is near to Oakhurst's downtown area. About 20 minutes away from Yosemite and about 10 minutes to Bass Lake. You need to spend more time here, a minimum of at least 3 days to see everything :) I wish we stayed a week.

They were both super knowledgeable and made us feel extremely welcome. They even had a special printed menu for our table with a birthday message that made it that more special. They truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this place to everyone and I will be back any chance I get. One last thing....the Oyster with a fennel, apple, vinegar idk what changed my life. I am an oyster fan now, but just these lol TYSM!

That is exactly what happened during my recent dinner at Elderberry House. I visited with a group of four, and between us, we had two gluten-free diners and one vegetarian. After a quick heads-up the day before, the restaurant handled our needs with total ease. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and it was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with one of the best oysters I have ever had, followed by a beautiful tuna presentation. The kitchen even looked out for our gluten-free friends with a special version of their herbal-butter focaccia that was actually delicious. By the time the main courses arrived, I honestly could not decide if I liked my beef or my friend's snap pea risotto better; every single bite was pure perfection. The cocktails were another high point. My first drink was great, but after chatting with our server, Jordan, I decided to try the Last Word. It featured that hard-to-find green chartreuse, and I am a little annoyed to report that I have a new favorite cocktail that requires such a rare ingredient. The service is what really made the night so special. Jordan was so charismatic and helpful, making sure we were perfectly taken care of all evening. He was so good that I almost worried a second visit would not be the same without him, though the rest of the staff quickly put that fear to rest. Abby was so friendly and responsible for a truly unique but perfect-for-the-vibe playlist, and Chris the mixologist even stopped by to geek out about gin and cocktails with us. From the genuine care for our food sensitivities to the clever touch of the iPad check-in hidden in an elegant binder, it was a night for the books. I cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to bringing my family next!

Right now Falaf-a-lot is on site and was excellent. We had a salad plate- 4 different salads with a pita and choice of protein (including falafel, chicken, lamb), fries were crispy with homemade ketchup on the side. And a lamb meatball pita with chips. Tasty! Beer was all good. No flights which I prefer, but good selection.

They have limited hours so make sure you plan for it, and they also host events throughout the week which means live music isn't always available. The ordering process is straightforward - you place your order at the front inside and then pick it up with a buzzer outside, which works perfectly for enjoying the outdoor setting. 5/5 Tomato Soup with Half Grilled Cheese was so hearty and exactly what you need after a long drive or before heading into the mountains. The soup was the best I have had in a while, with rich tomato flavor that was perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency. The grilled cheese was nothing too special on its own, but it paired so well with the soup, especially to warm you up in the cold. The combination is classic comfort food executed beautifully, and you really can't go wrong with this order. The Grove House is absolutely worth planning your Yosemite trip around! It's the perfect stop to fuel up before heading into the park or to unwind after a day of hiking. The combination of good food, welcoming atmosphere, and that small-town charm makes it a must-visit when you're in Mariposa. I would definitely recommend trying this place out - it seems like one of the best restaurants in the area on the way to Yosemite. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and hoping to catch one of their live music nights!
