We really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn. The room was very nice, clean, comfortable, and accommodating. I especially appreciated having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. I also loved that the air conditioning was already on when we arrived--it made the room feel welcoming and comfortable right away. If you're staying here, I definitely recommend checking out Oakhurst Grill & Whiskey Lounge 41. The steak was delicious! Pandori Express, the Indian restaurant nearby, was also excellent. The continental breakfast was another highlight. The ladies taking care of the breakfast area were absolutely amazing and truly went above and beyond. They worked hard to keep everything clean, organized, and stocked, and they were so attentive to the guests. They really deserve to be recognized for their excellent service. The gentleman who checked us in that morning was also very helpful and provided great customer and suggestions. I would definitely give him five stars as well. I do have a couple of constructive observations that I hope management will take in the spirit intended. In the afternoon, there was a young lady with long hair at the front desk. I didn't get her name, but unfortunately, her customer service came across as though she didn't really want to be there. When you speak with her, she answers the question, but there isn't much eye contact or engagement. There was also no greeting or goodbye. At one point during breakfast, I mentioned to her that the coffee was out. She acknowledged it, but when we were leaving, I checked the same pot and the coffee still had not been refilled. I think some additional customer-service training could be helpful. A simple hello, eye contact, a friendly attitude, and a goodbye can make a big difference in a guest's experience. One other small observation was the bottom of the shower. It had a somewhat dirty appearance. I understand this may be partly due to the type of material or finish used, and I'm not necessarily saying it wasn't cleaned. However, the material seems to hold onto a look that makes the shower floor appear dirty even when it may be clean. It would be great if the hotel could find a better cleaning solution or consider a different finish/material that would eliminate that appearance. Overall, though, I had a good experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and accommodating, and I would definitely come back. The breakfast staff and morning front-desk gentleman deserve special recognition for making our stay even better. I'm sharing the positives and the constructive feedback because I think this is a hotel with a lot going for it, and a few small improvements could make the guest experience even better. I would definitely recommend staying here! And the changes this would be a Five Star! read more

1/5 - Terrible Experience Due to Strong Pet Urine Odor Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay. The first room we were given absolutely reeked of pet urine. The smell was so strong that we asked to be moved to another room, hoping it was just an issue with that particular room. Unfortunately, the second room also smelled like pet urine. At that point, we essentially spent the entire night breathing in the odor. Since the hotel windows do not open, there was no way to air out the room or get any fresh air. This is not a smell that can simply be covered up with air freshener or regular cleaning. When pet urine has soaked into carpeting, the carpet and potentially the padding underneath need to be properly treated or replaced. In my opinion, replacing the carpet with a hard-surface flooring such as plank flooring would make a significant difference, especially in a pet-friendly hotel. I understand that hotels allowing pets will occasionally have accidents in rooms, but guests should not be expected to stay in a room that smells strongly of urine--especially after already requesting a room change for the exact same issue. Overall, this was a terrible experience and made it extremely difficult to feel comfortable or enjoy our stay. Unfortunately, based on the condition of both rooms we were given, I would not recommend staying here unless the odor and flooring issues are properly addressed. read more

The cleanliness is something this hotel doesn't have. The bathrooms downstairs by the entrance had diarrhea in both of them so couldn't use them. Headed up to my room and it was dirty. The coffee packets that are next to the coffee machine were already open. My bed had a bug in my sheets. Expensive for what it is. Also it looks like maintenance doesn't keep up with the place because there is water droplets and water damage in the top of the bathrooms. Left yesterday and hopefully I have no bed bugs since I have bites in my skin!! read more

I'm actually coming back to stay here again. This place has a lot of positive in my book. The breakfast was actually decent. There was fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bagels, yogurt, decent coffee, and I'm picky. They also have a very nice gym with updated equipment. The rowing machines and the elliptical looked brand new. They even have a peloton. Nice little pool with a hot tub indoors. Certainly worth the money. My only downfall was my shower dripped all night and my bathroom floor was wet. But I figured out if I really put some muscle in it, I could close it down. Oh in my toilet for some reason wasn't completely secured to the floor. Every time I sat down it came up a little bit and made a noise. Thank God it worked lol. I don't really need maintenance people in the room when I'm in there. Staff was wonderfully nice. Certainly worth checking out. read more

I booked a two-night stay for my husband and daughter to visit Yosemite National Park. The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely view. Everything worked well. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and plentiful -- the daughter especially liked the "Hampton" Waffle. :) This 5-star review is for the wonderful care they extended when my husband took a minor fall at the park. When he walked in with abrasions, the staff member -- I wish we got her name (ponytail and glasses) -- immediately offered help. She gave my daughter ibuprofen and bags for ice. Later that evening when my daughter was heading out to get dinner, the same staff member asked about my husband and offered to assist with anything else. Excellent experience! We will definitely be back when we return to Yosemite. read more

we stayed at this Hampton Inn for a couple days while visiting yosemite. It's about 45 minute drive to the park so the location is perfect. And this location is very central to many dining options and a little bit of nightlife that there may be.. It's a newer property so everything was up to standard. The breakfast buffet is typical although a little bit better than the last Hampton and we stayed at. Thanks for a good trip. read more

Just staying one night before we camp at Yosemite. Very convenient location! Rooms are clean, free breakfast, but the highlight was the customer service! The front desk made us feel right at home, answered all our questions and gave us helpful information. Jason was so welcoming and Brent went above and beyond to get us comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay a pleasant one. Thank you Brent and Jason! Don't go through third party booking sites because you won't get your booking (even though you booked 5 months ago). Apparently, your booking isn't guaranteed. Oh, and the hotel smells like smoke when they claim it's smoke free. I'm aware that it's a busy/booked weekend-- that's why I booked in December. read more

We stayed two nights while visiting Yosemite. Hotel seems new with nice modern decor, comfortable bed and linens. Rooms quiet. Good quality toiletries. They only clean every other night which was fine for us. Coffee maker and fridge in room but also coffee and tea available in lobby all day. Warm breakfast - eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, yogurt, cereals, fruit, pastries and breads, juices, coffee and tea. Complaints: hair dryer in room 400 BURNED my hair!!! They charged us $12/day for parking which was plentiful but on their website it says free parking. False advertising. Will definitely complain up the chain. If my review was based on that I would give them a one star. EDIT: the manager on duty removed the parking charge after we complained that the charge policy was added after we had made our reservation. It's all good now! read more

Yikes. I hope it's just a kink in the beginnings. It wasn't up to par and very strange. We were denied a bottle of water. It was only for some extra special club member, despite the inflated price of the room. The bed was comfortable, though. I'd rather sleep on a park bench. read more

I have stayed at many Hampton Inn locations across multiple states and cities, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I do appreciate that Mary allowed me to check in early on the first day. However, the room I was initially assigned, Room 427, should never have been rented out. The bathtub does not drain properly. I discovered this issue at night while taking a shower -- when the water is running, it pools in the tub and only drains very slowly afterward. This is clearly a defective unit, and I do not believe this happened without negligence. I spoke with Anita, the night staff member, and we agreed to change rooms the next morning due to both the drainage issue and the strong cigarette odor in the room. The following morning, Riley assisted with the room change. I specifically requested Room 419 because it had less cigarette odor, but Riley refused, stating that it was already reserved. I find it difficult to understand why a room would be withheld under such circumstances. If I were in their position and facing the possibility of a one-star review, I would have released that room. I had no choice but to move to Room 418. During this interaction, Riley pointed her finger at me while speaking, which was extremely rude and unprofessional. Unfortunately, Room 418 had the same strong cigarette odor as Room 427, with the only difference being that the bathtub was not broken. Not once did Mary, Anita, or Riley apologize for these issues. Ironically, the only person who apologized was Spencer from housekeeping -- even though he was not the one responsible. In my view, Spencer is the only person who demonstrated managerial-level professionalism. The other three should be reassigned to housekeeping rather than customer-facing roles. Throughout my entire stay, the cigarette odor made my throat burn and was extremely difficult to tolerate. It was so severe that I even woke up during the night with a sore throat. Imagine taking a shower where the water does not drain from the bathtub, leaving soap foam and hair floating around. This place is truly awful. How can a hotel justify assigning the worst possible room to a guest as the very first option? I will never stay at this property again. read more

Had a wonderful stay here. First time at a Hampton Inn. The staff was very helpful and friendly especially Brent. Definitely will return!

It is expensive for a Hampton, but the two front desk guys are very helpful and sweet. The rooms are great, the location is great and the housekeeping staff is great. The pool is not heated so it is quite chilly, though indoors. Walls are thin so do not stay in a room next to Hearing Assist Room - they have sound vibration alarms that will go off if there is a voicemail - guaranteed to wake you up all night! read more

Clean and comfy! My daughter and I stayed at this Oakhurst hotel on Memorial Day weekend while visiting Yosemite National Park. We brought two dogs so our hotel choices were limited but we were happy with our selection. With traffic on Sunday, it was about 1.5 hours to get to the gate. Without traffic on Monday, it took about 35 minutes. The hotel is located at the end of the highway not far from where the mountain begins. The parking lot had plenty of spaces surrounding the hotel. The hotel was clean, modern and in great condition. Amenities included an indoor pool, spacious fitness center, laundry facilities, a tiny store and complimentary Continental breakfast. Our double queen room was spacious and relaxing. The bathroom was bright and contemporary with a shower only. The breakfast area was the typical Hilton Continental breakfast with a serve yourself all you can eat bar with eggs, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles breakfast meats and beverages. Complimentary coffee was also available for most of the day. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return. read more

I was so impressed that this Hotel is about to celebrate 18 months of operation. It's so clean and inviting with four floors for guests to stay or play throughout the day. This evening was fully booked, so it definitely helps to plan ahead months in advance for your stay in Oakhurst. Did I mention breakfast is free the morning of your stay and starts at 6:30 AM? Although limited, it is quite filling and just makes your day a little better with a full stomach. Upon checking in, Krista was an angel in finding a suitable room for us on the fourth floor which has a beautiful view of the mountains. I did remember others that have experienced her kindness, so keep up the great work and thank you for making our stay the best of any hotel we've stayed at in the Sierras! read more

To start, our room wasn't ready until nearly an hour after the listed check-in time, and we didn't receive the check-in code and instructions until two hours after that. Once inside, we discovered several missing essentials: no washcloths or floor bathmat, no coffee cups, and not enough utensils--just one banana and a rotten apple were available for breakfast that first morning. The owner told us where to find items ourselves, but even then, there were no extra spoons and only a minimal attempt at a to-go breakfast, which was packed for one person despite there being two of us. Day two was worse. Breakfast was not served at all, and there was no communication beforehand. We waited until 8:45 AM (breakfast was scheduled for 8:15 AM) with no sign of food preparation, which set us behind on our three-hour drive. Only afterward were we told that the staff was apparently sick. When we reached out to the owner to express our concerns, including the lack of basic amenities and the unfulfilled breakfast promise, she offered just a $40 refund. Given the number of issues, we didn't feel this was a fair or adequate resolution. Later, we noticed some of the missing items had been dropped off--but simply left on the floor and table, not even set out for use. We ended up having to set things up ourselves. In short, this stay lacked the hospitality, preparation, and service you expect from a bed and breakfast. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

We have stayed a lot of Hampton Inn hotels, and this is first time we have ever had to pay for parking. The only place I go expecting to pay for parking is a hotel in an urban downtown area. Wifi wasn't very good, either. I definitely didn't like the positioning of the TV - done if you are watching from the small couch in the room, but we watch TV from our bed. Hotel doesn't have great soundproofing- heard quite a few footsteps above. Breakfast was okay, but again, not quite as good as other Hamptons we have stayed at. Employees were very nice. Very very very happy with our accommodations at this hotel. 1st, Christa was exceptional in fixing an error that we accidentally made in double booking for the same night with Expedia. Actually Expedia wasn't going to fix the double charge but Christa came to our rescue and worked it all out. Thank You again Christa... you are so good at what you do... we had a wonderful time in Yosemite that will not be forgotten for a lifetime... and The Hampton Inn served to facilitate such and incredible time and sights to be seen. Finally Lisa at the front desk was so very kind running up new towels for us when we needed them. I could only give 5 stars but really overall, they were a 10/10... Very underwhelming experience from start to finish. Our room was spacious but the blinds and multiple cabinets were broken. I don't understand why they were even renting out a broken room to begin with; these issues should be resolved between guests or the room should not be available. The bathroom was dated and felt unclean, the water pressure was unfortunate. The staff was sparse though everyone we encountered was pleasant. Breakfast was extremely limited but this was to be expected. The location is very convenient though, about half an hour away from Yosemite. The most disappointing part was undoubtedly the broken state we entered our room in. read more

Brand new construction and good service. We stayed here because the Ahwanee was closed for renovations, and the other lodging in the Yosemite Valley is dated. We took a trip to Yosemite and needed a nice clean place to stay before we returned to Yosemite the next day. We checked into the Hampton Inn Oakhurst which to my surprise is a very nice fairly new looking hotel. The place was very pleasant with sufficient parking ($10.00 fee) and accepts pets- ($50.00) for small dog. They serve complementary breakfast which was tasty. They offer a washer/dryer room, and ice machines. The room itself is spacious, bed is basically clean, mini frig, free wi-fi, flat screen TV, nice size shower. Nice place to settle down for the night and there are nearby restaurants along Hwy 41 to choose from. The hotel is not very far from Yosemite Park relatively speaking. read more

My family checked into the hotel for our short trip to Yosemite. Clean hotel and good service from staff.

Hotel was updated and clean, check in staff was friendly. We woke up to a horrible ant infestation which completely surprised us being that this hotel was newer and we were on the top floor. Went downstairs to tell desk, desk staff responded with "We don't have ants here" to which I proceeded to show the photos of the ants. The other customer standing there responded to me with "You have ants too? We have them everywhere, even in our luggage". The desk person then said "I will let the housekeeping staff know". A week later, I was still finding ants in my car and house because they apparently hitched a ride in my luggage. Contacted Hilton and was credited 5 000 hilton points to an acct I never use. What am I going to do with 5,000 points? Wow, Hilton sure knows how to treat their customers to keep them coming back! (Sarcasm) read more

This hotel is new construction & clean. It also provides some nice amenities. Decided to take the family to Yosemite for the weekend (2nights) The kids enjoyed the pool, the 24 hr coffee bar in the lobby was nice- also it's pet friendly. THE STAFF!!!!!!!!!!= Every single one I encountered were GREAT! I arrived after midnight and the front desk clerk (Chris) was very helpful. Every single housekeeper had a smile on their face ") - like a genuine smile, not a B.S. smile. Even had some small talk in elevator with one of them, and I don't really like humans like that. Ms. Krista & Ms. Lisa at the front desk are such sweethearts & have the virtue of patience. I was in line and witnessed these 2 ladies deal with some very rude & entitled guests.
