We waited a minute and he walked us all over to the beer station for the beer tasting (all brewed by Scott Chappelle-- I think his brother makes the wine that they serve there). We really enjoyed the four beers (the tastes)-- they had a light hoppy one, a "red ale," a nut brown one, and a porter. Everyone loved the nut brown one, and we bought a bottle to take home. Honestly, the beer was good but not so different from other beers we've had, but Brett was a lot of fun, and we lucked out with that couple-- they were really sweet. In terms of wine, we didn't have any, but it all looked like reds and a red dessert wine to me, so if you only drink white wine, this may not be the place for you. Highly recommend when Brett is there-- not sure what the other sommeliers / beer wizards are like. :D I think wine tastings are around $6, and beer tastings are $5 for about 4 3-ounce glasses, and I don't think it's waived even if you buy beer/wine.

As soon as we came in, one of the girls had to use the restroom and the woman pouring wine said "I don't need lot of people going in and out of the restroom fixing their hair and doing their makeup." Which we all just exchanged glances and chose to overlook. Another couple showed up and the same woman said she needed to see everyone's IDs and told the other couple "except you two, you're good" and one person of the couple said "I'm offended, but thanks?" And she continued checking our IDs. When the bride gave her ID to the wine pourer, she took it, looked at it, and threw it down back on the bar, and fell down to the ground. She just said "oops sorry" and proceeded to tell us about the wine. Before she offered to pour any for us, she made sure we knew multiple times that it was $20 a tasting and kept insinuating it might be "too expensive" for us. At this point, we weren't feeling it and just left. Service was awful. Go across the street to The Local Grape where they're hospitable and very welcoming.

All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. You could tell they treat every customer as if they're the only person in the winery, despite it being full. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

Was about to drive on... But I decided to call and Farmer John was more than accommodating! It's a farm meets vineyard meets winery. Anyways, we called and Farmer John came and opened the gate for our two cars. We came in and parked next to the barn. He gave us the choice of tasting inside or outside - we chose outside. After the 15 minutes he needed to get ready, he rolled out with all the glasses and bottles required for a tasting for 5 adults. Most of the wines are fruit forward but we all really enjoyed that about them. They well blended. John also explained that he's not pressured to put out wines that he doesn't feel meet his standard. This is a passion for him. Great conversations followed. The kids all played around the grounds and even went to go meet the farm animals! We all bought 2 bottles (or more) each to cover our tasting.
