This place is always packed on Friday and Saturday nights! My mom and I came in on a Wednesday evening and it was a great vibe. Andre, the owner, showed us class and hospitality and was helpful and attentive. Michelle, the chef, was extremely classy and served us delicious food with finesse. There's a huge selection of international wines to choose from. My mom ordered the Moscatel dessert wine and I ordered the White Blend from Spain. I enjoyed my wine and if you're a sweet tooth, dessert wine is the way to go! We ordered the Spicy Moroccan Lamb Meatballs with some cornbread and really enjoyed it! I do think the dishes are slightly on the pricier side, but the quality and finesse of the dishes makes them definitely worth it. Our meatballs were so soft and tasty. And we couldn't help but finish all the leftover sauce it came with by dipping our bread in it! I enjoy the vibe of the inside. I love all the blue dim lighting and there's even a small stage for folks to perform on busier nights. The patio is in a prime spot if you wanna enjoy the sidewalk vibes, especially on a Friday/Saturday night or on Thursday's if downtown is hosting a street fair! Def coming back!

Great service and wine selection! The live band Celestial was awesome too! Really nice date night out with my man! 30 plus and over! Dress nice or casual!

Had a pleasant first experience at a wine bar and definitely will be back, very friendly staff and love the ambiance!

Wonderful wine options - A wine glass filled with red wine is positioned on a table in a low-light environment, with blurred background elements including a menu and ambient lighting. The glass has a logo or design on it, and the scene suggests a social or dining setting.

This place is always such a friendly and relaxing vibe. The live music is always a great change from a standing room only bar. The wine always moves me out of my regular tastes. This is the reason I joined their wine club. I stopped giving my money to Napa supplier to support a local business. I have seen the negative view about their view of lgbtq+ and I want to say from first hand experience...this business has been open and welcoming to myself and my wife.

Two glasses containing blue-colored drinks with ice cubes are placed on a marble table. One glass is being held by a person's hand, which is partially visible. A menu is laid out on the table in the background. The setting appears to be a restaurant or bar with dim lighting.

my favorite local place after a long work week. they have delicious tapas, my favorite was the linguça bites! James took great care of us and even educated us on new wines to try. they have great performers like Andres who sang 80's Rock Hits. If you're in the area and looking for a place with a great vibe, i highly recommend!!

Well, first off the name is a little strange lol the place is very blue, blue walls, blue furniture, blue accent lighting, blue everything Lighting is a bit funky, there is just no place in Merced that can get the lighting right. Lighting can be so good if it's done right but the same boring bright overhead lighting you find in every spot in Main Street. Ordered the 3oz mini lamb slider for $17.... Not sure if this will fly with Merced peeps when they are already complaining about a $7 burger at five guys. Slider was tasty, it said it came with feta cheese crumbs, sun dried tomato and arugula. All I could find was about two pieces of arugula? No real sauce to bring the slider together. Also ordered one slider with an extra lamb patty and somehow I received two sliders and two patties and was charged $51... I had to have a chat with the waitress lol Didn't taste the wines but I saw they featured wines from Merced and local regions... not really wines you want to showcase or even serve in my opinion, the climate is just way too hot for good wine grapes. The music was like 70s jukebox music on two speakers at the front of the stage so no real feel of music filling the whole space. I'll try the other wine bar and see how they compare...

Used to be an ABC (anything but Chardonnay) but this place has changed my mind

Mt gosh. Fantastic friendly people, great wine, and every karaoke song I wanted to sing. What more could a guy ask for in Merced

Garlic shrimp - A marble-topped round table in a restaurant setting is arranged with two glasses of red wine, a small water glass, and a plate with appetizers, possibly seafood or chicken. Silverware is placed on small white plates on either side of the table. The background shows a bar with a blue-lit counter, high-backed upholstered chairs, and a dark, reflective wall with a textured pattern. The lighting is low, creating a cozy atmosphere.

Beautiful place, very luxury and cozy environment. The owner, Andre welcomed us and served us by himself. He recommended us to try Portuguese wine which was our first time drinking that wine. We ordered garlic shrimp on top of baguette... tasted delicious Overall, we liked it and we will go back again

My fiancé and I had stopped by when waiting down main st after watching a movie and we heard karaoke so we were very interested in checking out the place. As you walk in, you are obviously ID'd which is great and a responsible thing of the owners. The owners Michelle & Andre were absolutely amazing! They showed us such hospitality, Michelle even sang karaoke with us & they made everyone who's was there feel like a safe place where you can be yourself, have a good time & enjoy wine! The only little down fall is the waitress we had didn't really know much about wine but we learned together and she was so sweet. Overall, I think the place is gorgeous and I'm so proud of a fella Portuguese family from the acores is bringing such a beautiful and fun business to little old Merced with their dishes, wine & vibe!

Nice jazzy atmosphere with vintage movies playing on the main screen. Super friendly staff and very tasty food.

Vinhos has been a wonderful experience! I learned about Portuguese culture while sampling absolutely delicious plates of savory bliss. This is a great spot downtown near restaurants and the main movie theater. Plenty to walk to nearby or stay and catch a vintage movie on the huge screen above the bar. Live music here is mostly jazzy as is the ambient normal soundtrack. Great ambiance with the lighting and deep blue warm walls. I will come here again. Cheers Vinhos

    Breakfast bowl was so good.

Nice place downtown Merced. I didn't even realize they had a food menu. Service was fast and friendly!

A breakfast platter on a black slate serving board includes sliced bananas, strawberries, apple slices, a halved boiled egg, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sliced sausage, and waffles with a small container of syrup. The arrangement offers a variety of breakfast items with fresh fruit, cooked eggs, and breakfast meats.

A very cute place in Merced. Which is sorta rare for the town. When you're inside the establishment you forget you're in merced. I had brunch with a friend and the waiter was very nice and attentive. We ordered a brunch charcuterie to share and it was more than enough. Everything taste good. I was sad to see that it was so empty during brunch hour. I hope Business picks up. I would go again

Grilled Octopus on Sweet Potatoes - A grilled octopus tentacle is arranged on a bed of sweet potato mash, served on a white rectangular plate. The dish is garnished with microgreens and is set on a marble table, with other dishes and wine glasses visible in the background.

This gem of a wine bar serves fantastic Portuguese small plates in an atmosphere of a hip Lisbon night club. An excellent wine list serving local and international wines. Great service and friendly people. If you're a fan of Portuguese cuisine you will not be disappointed. If you've never had Portuguese cuisine you're in for a treat. Two of us ordered the six plate items on the menu and it was basically two full meals. They also offer mixed plates with olives and cheese as well as deserts. A great time and looking forward to our next visit.

Over the Board - Medium size, perfect for our group size (5 ppl) - A cheese and charcuterie board displays an assortment of items including grapes, olives, cookies, sliced meats, cheeses, and a decorative edible rose. The board is placed on a table with wine glasses, a glass of water, and additional snacks visible. The setting appears to be a dining event with a formal table arrangement.

The restaurant was not very busy and it took almost 20 mins just to be seated at our table. We then took our place at the table and we waited another 10-15 mins for someone to wait on us. We kindly flagged the young male server there and asked him if he could get our server to assist us. The young female server finally came out to assist us - she was not very welcoming but proceeded to take our drink order. It took almost 15 minutes to get our mimosas and water. She did not greet us, inquiry if it was our first time there or gave us suggestions on the menu. She then proceeded to take our order which took a while to get our food. The plus - everyone enjoyed our meals from the way they were prepared to the ingredients. No one ever came to our table and gave us any water nor did they ask for a refill on our drinks. During this time I peeked around the corner and saw staff just sitting in the back talking to one another. I tried to keep the experience positive for my group of friends but they were also growing concerned about the lack of hospitality. The lunch schedule was only until 2 pm but because of Rainbird's delay in seating us, taking our drink orders as well as the slight delay we felt we were now being rushed to finish our lunch, I also wanted to celebrate our friend's birthday and I brought a cake - the server proceeded to tell me it would be a $5 charge per person if I cut the cake there. She did offer to bring a complimentary dessert for our guest of honor. In my opinion, due to the service we were not receiving the cake fee should have been at least discounted or offset due to the lackluster enthusiasm and service. As we were trying to finish our lunch and take pictures at this beautiful establishment we could see the "side eyes" of staff rushing to get us out the door. I am a firm believer of supporting small businesses in Merced since I was born and raised there and let's face it - Merced has very limited fine dining and we wanted to do something nice for us. In order for small businesses to thrive in this town they need our consumerism to stay in business. As I read from all the exemplary reviews on this platform we unfortunately had a very bad experience with this lovely establishment. A group of us came from Madera so that we could meet our gals from Merced as a middle location. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the service as well as the treatment we received from Rainbird. Next year we will choose another location for our next gathering. Please do better Rainbird.

Our original group grew from 30 to 38 and they were still able to accommodate us. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful - exquisitely decorated with an Italian grocery store next door. I love this! You can dine and shop in their amazing little store! Our dinner was absolutely delicious - I ordered the margherita pizza and my husband ordered the gorgonzola and fig pizza.
